Abstract:
Dampak siklon tropis berupa meningkatnya curah hujan, angin kencang, bencana banjir hingga kerusakan infrastruktur.

Abstract:
AbstractThe new species Miriquidica invadens Hafellner, Obermayer & Tretiach is described and reported from Austria, Bulgaria, Italy, Switzerland, France and Spain. From a morphological point of view the species belongs to the M. griseoatra group, in which it is, so far, the only constantly lichenicolous taxon. Chemically it is characterized by the regular presence of miriquidic acid, stictic acid, and constictic acid (in variable amounts). It starts its ontogenetic life cycle as an obligate youth parasite on Sporastatia, usually S. polyspora.Morpho-anatomical treatments of other species of the Miriquidica griseoatra group occurring in Europe, based on the examination of type material, are also presented. According to the characters exhibited by the lectotype of Lecidea contigua var. griseoatra Flot., M. griseoatra (Flot.) Hertel & Rambold is the correct name for a montane species with subdivided areoles and immersed, laterally adnate apothecia with a pigmented hypothecium. Specimens exhibiting this set of characters were usually named M. obnubila auct. According to the characters observed on the lectotype of Lecidea (Biatora) obnubila Th. Fr. & Hellb., M. obnubila (Th. Fr. & Hellb.) Hertel & Rambold is a species with sessile apothecia with a hyaline hypothecium. Lecidea subplumbea Anzi does not constitute a heterotypic synonym of Lecidea griseoatra (Flot.) Schaer. but is the legitimate name at the species level for Miriquidica griseoatra sensu auct., and therefore M. subplumbea (Anzi) Cl. Roux is the correct name for that taxon. Lecidea inserena Nyl. is confirmed as a heterotypic synonym of Lecidea subplumbea Anzi. Lecidea plumbea Garov. ex A. Massal. is an earlier heterotypic synonym of Miriquidica limitata Hertel & Rambold and, therefore, the new combination M. plumbea (Garov. ex A. Massal.) Hafellner, Obermayer & Tretiach is introduced.Lectotypes are designated for Lecidea contigua var. griseoatra Flot., Lecidea inserena Nyl., Lecidea obnubila Th. Fr. & Hellb., Lecidea plumbea Garov. ex A. Massal., and Lecidea subplumbea Anzi. A key to the taxa of the M. griseoatra-group and other Miriquidica taxa with a grey thallus is provided.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTLegionellaspp. are frequently isolated in hospital water systems. Heat shock (30 min at 70°C) is recommended by the World Health Organization to control its multiplication. The aim of the study was to evaluate retrospectively the efficacy of heat treatments by using a flow cytometry assay (FCA) able to identify viable but nonculturable (VBNC) cells. The study includedLegionellastrains (L. pneumophila[3 clusters] andL. anisa[1 cluster]) isolated from four hot water circuits of different hospital buildings in Saint-Etienne, France, during a 20-year prospective surveillance. The strains recovered from the different circuits were not epidemiologically related, but the strains isolated within a same circuit over time exhibited an identical genotypic profile. After anin vitrotreatment of 30 min at 70°C, the mean percentage of viable cells and VBNC cells varied from 4.6% to 71.7%. Thein vitrodifferences in heat sensitivity were in agreement with the observed efficacy of preventive and corrective heating measures used to control water contamination. These results suggest thatLegionellastrains can become heat resistant after heating treatments for a long time and that flow cytometry could be helpful to check the efficacy of heat treatments onLegionellaspp. and to optimize the decontamination processes applied to water systems for the control ofLegionellaproliferation.

Abstract:
Abstract. On 22 August 2005 an earthquake with magnitude M=4.7 occurred in the Anzio (central Italy) offshore area. From 2002, a VLF-LF radio receiver is into operation in Bari (southern Italy). The intensity and the phase of the signals transmitted by GB (f=16 kHz, United Kingdom), FR (f=20.9 kHz, France), GE (f=23.4 kHz, Germany), IC (f=37.5 kHz, Island) and IT (f=54 kHz, Sicily, Italy) has been monitored with a 5 s sampling rate. The previous epicenter is near enough to some of the radio paths and the data collected were studied in order to reveal possible seismic effects. The raw analysis revealed a clear drop in the intensity of the FR radio signal on 19 August. Then the wavelet analysis was applied to the intensity and the phase data of the different radio signals. In the mentioned day an increase in the band 60–120 min was revealed in the spectra of the FR signal. Then the principal component analysis was applied and again the 19 August stood up as an anomalous day for the FR radio signal. The path of this signal, among the paths of the five radio signals collected by the Bari receiver, is the nearest to the mentioned epicentre and the anomaly revealed on 19 August appears as a precursor of the earthquake. This result confirms the possible precursor revealed by other researchers in the air Rn content in a site located 5 miles far from the epicenter.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTAntimonials remain the first-line treatment for the various manifestations of leishmaniasis in most areas where the disease is endemic, and increasing cases of therapeutic failure associated with parasite resistance have been reported. In this study, we assessed the molecular status of 47 clinical isolates ofLeishmaniacausing visceral and cutaneous leishmaniasis from Algeria, Tunisia, and southern France. In total, we examined 14 genes that have been shown to exhibit significant variations in DNA amplification, mRNA levels, or protein expression with respect to resistance to antimonials. The gene status of each clinical isolate was assessed via qPCR and qRT-PCR. We then compared the molecular pattern against the phenotype determined via anin vitrosensitivity test of the clinical isolates against meglumine antimoniate, which is considered the reference technique. Our results demonstrate significant DNA amplification and/or RNA overexpression in 56% of the clinical isolates with the resistant phenotype. All clinical isolates that exhibited significant overexpression of at least 2 genes displayed a resistant phenotype. Among the 14 genes investigated, 10 genes displayed either significant amplification or overexpression in at least 1 clinical isolate; these genes are involved in several metabolic pathways. Moreover, various gene associations were observed depending on the clinical isolates, supporting the multifactorial nature ofLeishmaniaresistance. Molecular resistance features were found in the 3Leishmaniaspecies investigated (Leishmania infantum,Leishmania major, andLeishmania killicki). To our knowledge, this is the first report of the involvement of molecular resistance genes in field isolates ofLeishmania majorandLeishmania killickiwith the resistance phenotype.

Abstract:
Background:Protocols for immunocytochemical staining (ICC) andin situhybridization (ISH) of air-dried Diff-Quick or May-Grünwald Giemsa (MGG)-stained smears have been difficult to establish. An increasing need to be able to use prestained slides for ICC and ISH in specific cases led to this study, aiming at finding a robust protocol for both methods.Materials and Methods:The material consisted of MGG- and Diff-Quick-stained smears. After diagnosis, one to two diagnostic smears were stored in the department. Any additional smear(s) containing diagnostic material were used for this study. The majority were fine needle aspirates (FNAC) from the breast, comprising materials from fibroadenomas, fibrocystic disease, and carcinomas. A few were metastatic lesions (carcinomas and malignant melanomas). There were 64 prestained smears. Ten smears were Diff-Quick stained, and 54 were MGG stained. The antibodies used for testing ICC were Ki-67, ER, and PgR, CK MNF116 (pancytokeratin) and E-cadherin. HER-2 Dual SISH was used to test ISH. Citrate, TRS, and TE buffers at pH6 and pH9 were tested, as well as, different heating times, microwave powers and antibody concentrations. The ICC was done on the Dako Autostainer (Dako®, Glostrup, Denmark), and HER-2 Dual SISH was done on the Ventana XT-machine (Ventana / Roche®, Strasbourg, France). Results:Optimal results were obtained with the TE buffer at pH 9, for both ICC and ISH. Antibody concentrations generally had to be higher than in the immunohistochemistry (IHC). The optimal microwave heat treatment included an initial high power boiling followed by low power boiling. No post fixation was necessary for ICC, whereas, 20 minutes post fixation in formalin (4%) was necessary for ISH.Conclusions:Microwave heat treatment, with initial boiling at high power followed by boiling at low power and TE buffer at pH 9 were the key steps in the procedure. Antibody concentrations has to be adapted for each ICC marker. Post fixation in formalin is necessary for ISH.

Abstract:
In the Parisian subway and in the most known World Music festivals, in the streets of big cities or in the concert halls, the "Andean Music" is played in France for more than half a century. The popularization of this music in France was associated to the construction of an "andeanity", as well in the repertory as in the discourse which accompanied their commercial distribution. Nevertheless, the activity of these ensembles was founded in the social French space: not only their "Andean" music was proposed to a French audience, but in fact most of these ensembles were born in Paris and developed their careers in France. By studying the popularization of this music in the light of the social representations of the "Andean" universe, our thesis proposes a second reading of the Otherness of the not European music in France. Our analysis if support on three axes: the social representations of the Andean cultures in France, the emergence and the success of the "Andean Music " between 1950s and 1970, and a survey research concerning the concerts proposed in Ile-de-France by the well-known ensemble Los Calchakis (2004). The hypothesis is founded on the idea that the success of this music in France was facilitated by a particularly receptive French audience to the Latin-American universe

Abstract:
In a cross-analysis of France and Japan, we examine the development of the social dimension in actions to prevent insecurity, especially ones pursued under the name of the social bond. Our thesis begins with a history of the contemporary evolution of policies aiming to prevent insecurity in France and Japan. In particular, we analyse administrative and legislative documents published since 1970 for what they reveal about processes of mobilising non-police actors for prevention in both countries. Our results suggest that the processes have involved the identification of external risks by public authorities, as well as how mobilising such actors is justified as a response to the breakdown of social bonds within families and in neighbourhoods. Afterwards, we describe practices of social actors, including street mediators and “voisins vigilants” in France, as well as neighbourhood associations in Japan, in terms of how they mobilise and organise. Our field research revealed that the prevention sorts good and bad citizens in the name of defending values considered to belong to the neighbourhood. In Japan, such prevention especially concerns actions for まちづくり (machi-zukuri, ‘community building’), whereas in France, social ties primarily represent a tool used by specialised agents. With a moral and educational function, the Japanese neighbourhood thus contrasts the French one as a sort of family to replace the contemporary family deemed to be failing. However, two cases studied, in La Rochelle and Osaka, show that such prevention can also seek a form of recognition via the development of networks at the local level

Abstract:
This thesis deals with the life and career and intimate life of Francis Carroll Grevemberg, an antiaircraft World War II officer from New Orleans, Louisiana. Grevemberg joined the Louisiana National Guard in 1932 and began his military career in the midst of the Great Depression. In the reorganization of the U.S. Army before World War II, the War Department transformed Grevemberg's cavalry regiment into a coastal artillery battalion with antiaircraft capability. During World War II, Grevemberg saw continuous action in the North Africa, Italy and Southern France. He regularly wrote letters from battlefields to his wife Dorothy. These letters provide a important window into a young officer's feelings, thoughts and affection in the unfolding of World War II. They are documents of a soldier's emotional release during times of crises. Lt. Col. Grevemberg is a rare, World War II antiaircraft artillery officer who took part and survived five amphibious landings in the Mediterranean.

Michelet, Jules. Il Rinascimento. Edited by Leandro Perini. Florence: Firenze University Press, 2016. http://dx.doi.org/10.36253/978-88-6655-990-0.
