The article talks about the aphoristic heritage of N.S. Gumilev. Sayings are included both in Gumilev's literary texts and in journalism, are contained in articles on literary theory and in literary criticism, as well as scientific and popular science articles related to his travels. In the corpus of N.S. Gumilev's aphoristics, as in the aphoristic heritage of any author, the historical and nationalcultural component is important, since the sayings illustrate the author's worldview, his belonging to a special national linguistic culture. Georg Christoph Lichtenberg (17421799) was one of the most prominent Enlightenment figures in Germany - alongside with Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, Moses Mendelssohn, Immanuel Kant. During his lifetime he was best known as a professor of physics, popularizer of science, witty mind, and thought-provoking essayist. His enduring philosophical legacy is based on his posthumously published so-called wastebooks (rough notebooks) which gather together countless observations and remarks and which founded a tradition of aphoristic writing that was continued by the Schlegel brothers, Novalis, Schopenhauer,

The article analyzes the peculiarities of aphorisms functioning in linguistic scientific discourse. Linguistic aphorisms have been identified as individual authorial utterances that reflect subjective interpretation of linguistic terms. Over seven hundred aphoristic utterances were taken from scientific, academic, reference and fiction books, as well as from collections of aphorisms, where the linguistic terms have been presented. They serve as the material for research. Applied here are methods of targeted sampling, cognitive analysis and quantitative analysis, as well as descriptive method.

In this research, Stanisław Lem’s aphoristicon analysis was carried out in the view of the multifaceted classification and in the focus of the ego-text theory in particular. It was shown that the writer’s discourse is densely aphoristic: literary statements go beyond (1) the corresponding work, (2) a certain type of personal discourse, taking into account live speech, and acquire the status of aphorism, beginto enter into socio-cultural as well as verbal circulation, of not only Polish but also other linguistic cultures of the world thanks to translations. Abstract:
This thesis investigates the use of aphorism in the work (\(Notizenwerk\)) of Ludwig Hohl and selected passages of Friedrich Nietzsche and Peter Handke in order to demonstrate the connections (Zusammenhänge) between aphorisms, taking seriously what aphoristic writers say about their own work, i.e. that aphorisms are the result of long secret chains of thought (Nietzsche). The study thereby addresses a gap in the research identified by Neumann. Concurring with Fedler, this thesis understands aphorism as combining conceptual with metaphorical (non-conceptual) thought and chains of thought are in

Aphoristic thoughts must be distinguished from their articulation in aphorisms, for they are found in all other genres of discourse as well. Within these discourses they present non-discursive points, i.e. points where the mind interrupts the linear progression of the text in order to stop and contemplate a momentary end of thinking. This study seeks to isolate the thought from thinking. It does so in a series of reflections on German, French and English aphoristic texts. These reflections explore a viable alternative to the contextualist paradigms of literary criticism, history, and philosoph
