Abstract:
The aim of my thesis is the analysis of properties of laser cladding. The theoretical part is focus on conventional methods of laser cladding, types and properties of lasers and its applications in industry. Then there is the description of preparing metallographic samples and its assessment, also there are types of wear enclosed. In the experimental part the nickel laser cladding were made by using semiconductor laser, in which the structure, the dilution, the EDS analysis and the hardness with respect to input parameters are assessed.

For assembly of product machine is necessary to evaluate a geometric accuracy of individual functional parts of the machine. This process is very demanding and time consuming. One of the reasons of mentioned problems is the lack of software (adaptation) for measuring of the accuracy of geometrical precision. This theses (diploma work) focuses at facilitating the development and creation of own application based on customer requirements and for measuring geometric accuracy with the Laser Tracker AT901 from Leica company. The aim is to create a basic application suitable for measurement of geometric accuracy, which would speed up this process, would be user-friendly, simple and open for further expansion.

This thesis presents a use of 3D laser range finder designed for purposes of autnonomous mobile systems. The 3D scanner is built as extension of 2D laser range finder with rotation module. In the first section is described laser range finder SICK LMS 291 and his pitching construction along with used software tools. Abstract:
When processing materials, there are a number of factors which influence the final quality of products. The possibility of defects occurrence, both sub-surface and surface ones, is one of the factors. In the precision engineering production, the automotive, bearing or aerospace industry in particular, no level of defects is tolerable. The thesis deals with the causes and consequences of the occurrence of such defects, and the methods for their identification. For this purpose, a new contactless optical method for the fully automatic inspection of the surface defects has been developed by Mesing, spol. s r.o. In order to verify the performance of the aforementioned method, four specific products have been tested by the author using the method. Finally, there are examples of the successful implementation of the automatic machines, for a design of which the results of the model testing were utilized.

Předložená disertační práce zkoumá možnosti použití nového typu polovodičového MGY- Laseru elektricky laditelného v širokém spektrálním rozsahu a zabývá se možnostmi jeho nasazení v optovláknové senzorové síti založené na metodě FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating). Výzkum byl započat komplexními dlouhodobými testy reálného měřícího scénáře z oblasti stavebnictví, sestaveného pro účely ověření limitujících aspektů současných technik. Inženýrské aplikace nabízejí velké množství vzájemně se vylučujících požadavků pro návrh strukturálních senzorových systémů. Tyto požadavky jsou sdíleny mnoha dalšími technologickými oblastmi, což přispívá k vysokému stupni univerzálnosti použití dosažených výsledků. Na základě posouzení stavu současné techniky a aplikačních požadavků byly v práci nejprve identifikovány aspekty, které mají být výzkumem zlepšeny. V dalším kroku byl detailně charakterizován MG-Y laser Syntune/Finisar S7500. Na základě dat získaných měřením byla zkoumána nová metoda spojitého řízená vlnové délky záření laseru. Provedené experimenty vedly nejen k návrhu nového způsobu spojité regulace vlnové délky ale také k vytvoření prostředků pro vlastní kalibraci systému na základě jeho vnitřních vlastností (podélných módů rezonátoru).

Abstract:
The present dissertation is motivated by the search for alternatives of lead-free soldering by nanoparticles of metals and their alloys. The research focuses on the possibility of replacing lead-free solders by nanoparticles. This issue is currently being addressed by the use of lead-free solders but their properties are not entirely equivalent to properties of lead-tin based alloys. The theoretical part of the dissertation first summarizes up-to date knowledge on the development of lead-free alloys currently used for soldering in the electronics. The work compares these lead-free solder candidates with previously used Pb-Sn alloys. The second section of the theoretical part is devoted to nanotechnology that offers possible solutions of problems associated with the use of lead-free solders. The text contains a description of the properties of nanocrystalline materials in comparison with those of compact alloys having the same chemical composition. The possibility of preparation of nanoparticles and potential problems associated with small particle sizes are also presented. Introduction of the experimental part focuses on the preparation of nanoparticles of pure metals and alloys by chemical and physical ways as well as on an instrumentation for characterisation and analysis. Attention is focused on the silver in nanoparticle form that exhibits the low temperature sintering effect, which is thermally activated by decomposition of oxide envelope covering the Ag nanoparticles. This factor is critical for low-temperature sintering and thus also for possible future applications. The thermal effects of the low sintering process were studied by methods of thermal analysis. The preparation of the Cu / Ag nano / Cu joints was carried out in-situ in inert atmosphere and under the action of atmospheric oxygen. In both cases varying conditions of thermal treatment were used. The cross sections of the prepared joints were then used for the metallographic analysis of the local mechanical properties of the resulting silver layer, for the chemical composition evaluation of the resulting layers of the joint, and for the microstructure study. Strength characteristics are represented by testing shear strength of individual joints.

Tato diplomová práce obsahuje komplexní návrh systému aktivního řízení proudu instalovaného na osobním voze Škoda Roomster. Tato práce navazuje na výzkum provedený VUT a TUB na vozidle Volkswagen UP! Návrh lze rozdělit na tři základní části - návrh spoileru, návrh závěsů a návrh vyfukovacího systému. V každé z těchto částí je návrh detailně popsán a potřebná výkresová dokumentace je součástí práce v její příloze. Pro potřeby návrhu vyfukovacího systému bylo provedeno jeho testování. Výsledky testu jsou v této části uvedeny. Práce také obsahuje komplexní popis sestavení celého systému a jeho instalace na automobil.

This paper deals with the application of SLAM algorithms on experimental four wheel vehicle Car4. The first part shows the basic functioning of SLAM including a description of the extended Kalman filter, which is one of its main components. Then there is a brief list of software tools available to solve this problem in the environment of MATLAB and an overview of sensors used in this work. The second part presents methodology and results of the testing of individual sensors and their combinations to calculate odometry and scan the surrounding space. It also shows the process of applying SLAM algorithms on Car4 vehicle using the selected sensors and the results of testing of the entire system in practice.

Abstract:
This diploma thesis is focused on the plasma surface treatment of historical glass from the 18th and 19th centuries by low temperature electrical discharges in solutions of sodium chloride and potassium carbonate and finding the most suitable settings of conditions for the surface cleaning. Stainless steel electrode and a specially designed electrode system with wolfram wire in the quartz glass capillary were used for the generation of discharge using an audio frequency power supply. Each line of samples was made from one piece of historical glass that was cut to smaller pieces. All cleaned samples were photographed before and after the cleaning so the possible changes of the cleaned area could be visually compared. Then the samples were analysed by LA-ICP-MS (line scanning of surface), where was analysed the cleaned area of samples, and values were compared to the analysis of the reference sample that was not cleaned. Examined isotopes of elements were selected on the basis of the supposed composition of glass, corrosion products, and soil at the place of discovery. Analyses were standardized by NIST 610. Acquired values were transferred to oxides. The most important oxides (Na2O, MgO, SiO2, P2O5 a K2O) were chosen for deciding the most effective cleaning settings. It was decided that the most effective setting for cleaning was the one where the biggest difference of values between sample and reference occurred. Four series of these solutions were compiled and one parameter was changed for each of them. Solutions and their conductivity, frequency of the power supply, and time of cleaning were chosen as changing values. Three samples of different times of cleaning were cleaned without interruption. The time of cleaning was split into intervals of 30 seconds of cleaning and 1 minute of non-action for another two samples of this series. In this way we were trying to find out if the following surface analysis will be influenced by the diffusion of the particles into the sample, or not. The frequency of power supply was recorded and its dissipated power was calculated for each measurement. Emission spectra of a series of different solution conductivity were measured before cleaning of samples. Measurement of OES was made with the ignition of discharge so the active species of plasma were shown in spectra. These species are probably participating in the cleaning process of glass. Emission spectra were also measured after cleaning to find out if values of active species were changed or unknown spectral lines appeared. These lines should be from dirt and corrosion products that were cleaned from the surface of the glass. It was found out that the most effective cleaning of sample 1 (series where the conductivity of the NaCl solution was changed) was done in a solution of conductivity 900 S/cm. The most effective cleaning of sample 4 and sample 7 (series where the conductivity of the K2CO3 solution was changed) was done in a solution of conductivity 600 S/cm. The most effective cleaning of sample 6 (series where the frequency was changed) was done at frequency = (15200 ± 30) Hz. The most effective cleaning of sample 5 (series of different cleaning times) lasted seven minutes without time delay. The future research it should be appropriate to try a combination of these most effective cleaning settings on the surface of more samples, so the finding of this thesis will be confirmed.

Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with the preparation of the very thin films and their investigation by scanning probe microscopy methods. The ultrathin films of Pt on Pt(111) were created by pulsed laser deposition and the ultrathin films of Co on Pt(111) were deposited by thermal evaporation. The coverage of the substrate was much smaller than one monolayer (in order of hundredths of monolayer). The nucleation theory was verified by these experiments using so-called Onset method. Further graphene sheets were prepared on layer of Si/SiO2 by the mechanical exfoliation from the graphite crystal. The fabricated graphene sheets were studied by micro-Raman spectroscopy, microreflectometry, atomic force microscopy and similar techniques. These methods proved the thinnest graphite layers were consisted of two graphene monolayers.

4 Summary This thesis work was concemed with the spectroscopic characterization of a set of newly developed GalnAsSb/AlGaSb lasers. The spectral range of their laser emission was studied in dependence on temperature and drive current. The relation of threshold current versus temperature was also studied. These basic characteristics were obtained using the methods of FT spectroscopy, classic absorption technique, and photoacoustic detection of gaseous phase molecules. On the basis of the described measurements, the composition of the semiconductor material was optimized in order to reach the maximum overlap of the laser emission over the methane absorption lines. The possibilities of combining the GaInAsSb/AlGaAsSb and InAsSb/lnAsSbP-based lasers with the FT spectroscopy were also studied and the modulated beam was used as the source of drive emission for the spectrometer. The diode lasers were used for the detection of a highly-resolved spectra of gases, and in connection with the photocoustic detection, low concentrations oť gaseous polltrtants could be determined, mainly with formaldehyde, ammonia and methane. Co-operation with the Department of Electrochemistry (the J. Heyrovsky lnstitute of Physical Chemistry) allowed us to use photoacoustic detection for a quantitative assessment of the ammonia...

Abstract:
The aim of the thesis was to complete the development of the Czech version of the extremal ultraviolet (XUV) argon capillary laser working at the wavelength 46.9 nm and its adaptation for the first practical applications. A multi-discipline complex of mutually interconnected problems was analyzed and studied: The reasons for a capillary low life-time were investigated using defectoscopic methods, a pre- pulse regime influence was studied with the help of spectroscopy on a physical model. By performing necessary construction and technology changes as well as by the multi-parametric optimisation of working regime, the indicated weaknesses were suppressed. The XUV laser was focused into a footprint of the size about 100 µm and the apparatus was extended by a set of practical aids and accessories for special applications, especially for exposition of the samples at extreme temperatures. As practical applications of the XUV laser, measurements of multilayer mirror reflectivity and filter transmissivity were performed. Using the XUV laser for a thin layer deposition and radiation resistance testing was verified to be practicable in principle. Probably a first temperature dependence of an XUV laser ablation rate was measured, in the temperature range from -180 deg.C to +200 deg.C, on BaF2.

Monika Kuchařová, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Measurement of changes in mechanical properties of human skin after application of therapeutic laser This diploma thesis describes in the theoretical part the properties of human skin, the properties of laser radiation and the nature of interaction of laser radiation with human skin. The practical part deals with an in vivo measurement of changes in mechanical parameters of human skin after application of therapeutic laser radiation. The mechanical parameters of human skin were measured in ten volunteers before the application of laser radiation and then after the application. Used energy density of the laser radiation increased from 30 to 90 J·cm-2 . The observed parameters were Hooke's coefficient, Newton's coefficient and the time constant. Hooke's coefficient describes the stiffness of the skin as a whole, Newton's coefficient characterises the viscosity of the skin, the time constant is the time in which skin returns to the original state after deformation. Two important mechanisms in preparation of ultrathin films of magnetic oxides were systematically investigated in this work. First, influence of epitaxial strain on resulting magneto-optical properties of La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 (LSMO) ultrathin films was studied. The investigated films were grown by pulsed laser deposition on four different substrates, providing a broad range of induced epitaxial strains. Magnetic properties were found to deteriorate with increasing value of the epitaxial strain, as expected due to the unit cell distortion increasingly deviating from the bulk and effect of the magnetically inert layer. A combination of spectroscopic ellipsometry and magneto-optical Kerr effect spectroscopy was used to determine spectra of the diagonal and off-diagonal elements of permittivity tensor. The off-diagonal elements confirmed presence of two previously reported electronic transitions in spectra of all films. Moreover, they revealed another electronic transition around 4.3 eV only in spectra of films grown under compressive strain. We proposed classification of this transition as crystal field paramagnetic Mn t2g → eg transition, which was further supported by ab initio calculations. Investigated samples were pre- pared by metallo-organic decomposition and pulsed laser deposition. The study was focused on structural and magnetic characterizaiton along with optical and magneto-optical properties. Obtained experimental results were further con- fronted with theoretical calculations. The application potencial of garnets for photonic devices was discussed based on determined Figure of Merit (Faraday rotation to optical loss ratio). High values were achieved for single crystal thin film of Ce doped yttrium iron garnet on galium gadolinium garnet substrate as well as for pollycrystalline Bi doped yttrium iron garned on silicon substrate. The aim of this thesis has been design, construction and application of a flow-through nephelometric detection cell based on photodiode as a sensor and a laser source. The developed device has been tested and its function has been proven on the determination of sulphate by flow injection analysis with nephelometric detection after precipitation by barium chloride. The results achieved were comparable with those obtained by spectrometric detection.
