This study aims to examine the increase in student discipline through the practice of understanding and practicing the hadith about respecting time. The research was conducted at the DDI al-Abrar Islamic Boarding School, Makassar as the research location. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the research show that the application of Islamic values in the hadith about respecting time is carried out through six strategies. The six strategies have a significant role in increa

Abstract Conflict is both a creative force in the establishment and a necessary condition for the sustenance of all higher modes of being. This, in short, I find to be one of the most ground-breaking insights of J. T. Fraser’s theory of “Time as a Hierarchy of Creative Conflicts.” As a consequence of this insight, I argue that to understand, with Fraser, the constitutive and creative function of some kinds of conflict will help us to accept, and even embrace, conflict not merely as a perpetual fact, as suggested by Stuart Hampshire, but as a necessary condition that makes possible whatever is

The primary constructive element in the work is a rhythmic language based upon the assignment of rhythmic cells to genetic sequences. Furthermore, biological models such as inverted repeats, zeitgeber, 2-D representations of DNA and cross-breeding were applied to musical parameters such as form, pitch, harmony and live electronics.

Time Fields: Chamber Concerto #3 for fifteen players (2004) is a composition for five woodwinds, three brass, one percussionist, piano, string quartet and double bass with an approximate duration of 14 minutes. Four differing states of musical time, which I refer to as Temporal Textures (Static, Obscure, Temporal Counterpoint and Clear), are employed in particular alternations to form a single movement work in four distinct sections.

Abstract:
After a successful proof of concept to expand the university’s commitment to Open Educational Resources (OER), a pilot program was launched to facilitate the adaptation and development of Open Textbooks by academic staff for students as well as broader audiences. The pilot involved the use of the publishing platform Pressbooks as a mechanism to raise awareness of Open Educational Resources, and to provide a university-supported tool with which to develop Open Textbooks. Commencing in Semester 2, 2020, participants in the pilot received vendor training from Pressbooks, as well as support from l

The multitude of innovations which assault us in all areas of life made necessary "the education for change". Through education, people must ensure the ability to develop the capacity to understand and respond appropriately to various challenges from society, to become agents of their own training, to organize and structure their own knowledge. As time goes by, it becomes more and more obvious the need for diversification and institutional personalization in Romanian education system, diversification of types of study programs, the need to promote lifelong learning and reform the existing legi

Abstract:
Ours is an age of pervasive political turbulence, and the scale of the challenge requires new thinking on politics as well as public ethics for our world. In Western countries, the specter of Islamophobia, alt-right populism, along with racialized violence has shaken public confidence in long-secure assumptions rooted in democracy, diversity, and citizenship. The tragic denouement of so many of the Arab uprisings together with the ascendance of apocalyptic extremists like Daesh and Boko Haram have caused an even greater sense of alarm in large parts of the Muslim-majority world. Full text
Abstract:
We use microdata on the phases of commercial construction projects to document three facts regarding time-to-plan lags: (1) plan times are long - about 1.5 years - and highly variable, (2) roughly 40 percent of projects are abandoned in planning, and (3) property price appreciation reduces the likelihood of abandonment. We construct a model with endogenous planning starts and abandonment that matches these facts. The model has the testable implication that supply is more elastic when there are more "shovel ready" projects available to advance to construction. We use local projections to valida

Abstract:
At Busara, we talk about ‘context’ all the time. And we’re not the only ones. It’s widely acknowledged and accepted in Behavioral Science that ‘context’ matters. We often hear that those in the context know better and can create better behavioral science than those who don’t understand ‘the context.’ But what do we mean when we talk about context, and how does one achieve that ‘contextual knowledge’ or know when one has it? This article will be a primer on context and what it means for Busara. It’s a starting point for us to discuss, examine, and further develop ideas about context.

Abstract:
We examine real and financial spillovers to safe haven financial flow destinations due to risk-off shocks in global financial markets. Using country-specific structural vector autoregression models over the period 1990 to 2021, we show that dynamics for Japan appear to be different to those of Switzerland and the United States in four main ways. First, in response to risk-off episodes over the estimation period, the yen real effective exchange rate appreciates sharply and significantly, with the effect persisting over time. Second, no significant effects on portfolio flows to Japan are found,

Not only do mountain goats live at the top of the world, but they have also adapted to incredibly harsh climates where few other species are found. After spending time with and observing this particular herd, I’ve learned so much about their mannerisms and personalities. The group dynamic is incredibly complex and operates similarly to how humans participate in these dynamics. Every encounter I have with these special animals gives me a deeper awe and appreciation for how capable and resilient they really are. In this paper we discuss several pervasive myths and misperceptions about teams and teamwork. We also introduce an evidence-based framework for moving beyond these myths and misperceptions. We shared several statements about teamwork to over 1,300 working adults. On average, across all the myths and respondents, 62% of respondents agreed with the myths we presented, 21% were uncertain, and only 17% disagree. This suggests that over 80% of respondents either endorsed, or expressed uncertainty about, myths relating to fundamental aspects of teamwork. Given the pervasiveness and lack of clarity s

Promoting the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) is a foreign policy priority for several countries, their concerns accentuated by considerable evidence of rising levels of violations of this right worldwide. This puts a premium on solid evidence and on clear assessment criteria to serve as objective guides for policy. This paper reviews the complex landscape of approaches to assessing and measuring both the status of FoRB and the degree to which this human right is being violated or protected.
