ANDREOLETTI, CHIARA. "ALLA SCOPERTA DELLA DIVERSITA' LINGUISTICA NELLA SCUOLA PRIMARIA: L'INTERCOMPRENSIONE COME STRUMENTO PER PROMUOVERE L'EDUCAZIONE PLURILINGUE." Doctoral thesis, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, 2017. http://hdl.handle.net/10280/18476.
Full textThe aim of the research is to investigate, from both a theoretical and a practical point of view, the discovery of linguistic diversity through intercomprehension. In the field of language teaching the concept of intercomprehension between related languages is currently at the heart of pluralistic approaches which promote plurilingual education. The study is divided into four chapters. The first chapter offers an historical reconstruction of the key projects which the Council of Europe developed for the foundation of its educational language policy. The second chapter provides a summary of the most recent documents and instruments produced by the the Council of Europe's Language Policy Unit for the promotion of multilingualism. The third chapter gives an introduction to the concept of intercomprehension from several points of view: as a learning object, as a learning strategy, as a teaching approach and as a language policy instrument. The fourth and final chapter introduces to the aims, the methodology and the materials used in the research conducted during the school year 2014/15 with Year 5 pupils of a primary school in Varese.

Full textArias, Arévalo Paola. "Integrating plural values in ecosystem services valuation: An ecological economics approach." Doctoral thesis, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 2017. http://hdl.handle.net/10803/458135.
Full textTo promote ecosystems conservation, ecosystem services (ES) scholars have encouraged the recognition of importance of ES through their valuation. Although the call of integrating plural values has been a mainstay in much of the ES conceptual literature, in practice monetary valuations have remained the dominant valuation tool. Monetary valuations have been criticized because they may obscure the values people attribute to ES and nature on the basis of ethical, emotional, cultural or social concerns. The main goal of this PhD dissertation is to contribute to the ES valuation practice by assessing how plural values can be recognized and integrated in valuations. By addressing the main goal, this dissertation aims to answer three research questions: How ES valuations can recognize and incorporate multiple human-nature relationships, value notions, and valuation methods? How the socio-cultural context influences the attribution of plural values to ES and nature? How do different valuation methods frame valuation outcomes? I answer these questions under the lens of three pillars of Ecological Economics: value pluralism, value incommensurability and value articulating institutions. First, I define a taxonomy of values and valuation methods that can be integrated in ES valuations. I argue that this taxonomy can help researches to representing people’s multiple and context specific ways of valuing nature. Following this analytical perspective, I then empirically explore the second and third research questions by applying a non-monetary valuation approach based on three methods: i) narratives of the importance of ES and nature, ii) prioritization of environmental motivations and iii) willingness to give up time for ES conservation (WTT). I performed qualitative and quantitative data analyses of 589 questionnaires that were collected in the mid-upper stream of the Otún watershed, Colombian Andes. The empirical research resulted in four main findings. First, respondents attribute multiple values to the ecosystems including intrinsic, instrumental and relational values, supporting the necessity of integrating value pluralism in ES valuations. Second, I found that rural people, compared with urban, prioritized altruistic and biospheric environmental motivations, were more likely to express intrinsic and relational values, and expressed a higher WTT for ES conservation. I argue that the differentiated valuation of nature by rural people emerges from their material dependence on ES and their strong cultural relations with ecosystems. Third, I found that socio-cultural factors (e.g. place of residence, age, education) and environmental motivations underpin the attribution of values by people. This finding supports the perspective that values are place-based and context specific. Fourth, I found that the different valuation methods frame valuation outcomes in different ways. I claim that non-monetary valuation approaches are suitable to capture the values of rural and indigenous people, usually excluded in monetary valuations, because are not inherent related to income distribution. However, I found that WTT can also restrict other social groups of expressing values such as women, elderly and people with high time restrictions. In sum, this dissertation contributes to current gaps of ES science-policy interface by i) integrating value pluralism and incommensurability in ES valuation practice, ii) understanding the multiple values people place on ES and nature and iii) further development of non-monetary valuation methods. Through the discussion of the ontological, epistemological and ethical assumptions, ES valuations cannot be further framed as technical tools but as political projects on sustainability. I argue that framing ES and nature valuations from Ecological Economics can contribute to depict a more sustainable and just future.

Full textMy dissertation consists of three separate parts. In the first two parts I illustrate various approaches to the notion of mathematical explanation of physical phenomena. I report the criticisms which have been addressed to these approaches and I try to identify some traits shared by them. In particular, in the first part I analyze three approaches (proposed by Philip Kitcher, Bas Van Fraassen and Mark Steiner) that are designed in order to capture the notion via a single model (Winner-Take-All models). In the second part I focus on two approaches (proposed by Christopher Pincock and Robert Batterman) whose aim is to capture the notion of mathematical explanation of physical phenomena without offering a single model but considering that what makes an explanation good can vary from case to case and every case of explanation might necessitate a different model (I call Pluralists those views). In the third part, taking as starting point the views analyzed in part one and part two, I propose my original approach to mathematical explanation of physical phenomena. In particular, I focus on a paradigmatic case of mathematical explanation of physical phenomena (a case of mathematical explanation of physical phenomena recognized as such in the scientific practice) and I propose a pluralist approach to the notion of explanation in terms of « conceptual resources » and « intellectual tools ». Finally, I propose a generalization of my approach and I point to the payoff that the adoption of this approach may have with respect to different topics in philosophy of mathematics and philosophy of science

Full textThe researches on the process of acquisition and development of reading and writing skills agree on the idea that these are implemented by the pupils’ continuous contact and exposure to texts and discursive genres. This theory finds a particular echo when it comes to narrative fiction based on a conventional and recurring generic and textual structure, whose treatment of which should be facilitated by the activation of prior learning. It would be interesting to know where this prior knowledge comes from. The answer to this question brings us to examine the characteristics of the joint didactic action. Thus we focus on three forms of mediation: the pupils’ educational culture in and outside school, the textual and the teacher mediation. This choice finds its justification in the context of our research which concerns first and forth year students of a Senegalese secondary school. In this context, the acquisition of the reading and the writing is made in school and in French; official language, teaching language, but also and especially, second language. In order to analyze the combined effects of these semiotic mediations we use a corpus constituted by two types of data. On the one hand, we have at our disposal video recordings of sessions of learning organized around didactical activities openly directed to the development of narrative competences in the pupils. On the other hand, we have collected written productions of these students before and after the didactical sequence concerning the teaching of narrative fiction. Through a multifaceted approach, we describe how the co-action between the professor and the pupils around model texts explains the performances of the latter ones when they are placed in situation of autonomous production. Our approach allowed us to demonstrate that we can explain the effectiveness of the teaching act by the correlation of three variables. Firstly, a systematic teaching of an object of knowledge measured by their level of concentration in the action learning. Secondly, we have the organization system of the participation of the students, prepared in advance to play their role in the co-construction of the knowledge. Finally, we underline the importance of the shoring up of their actions through strategies centred on the procedural and pragmatic knowledge

Full textDefy or play with gravity, exploring the depths and bring their stamina or just their body, compete with the natural elements by frequenting, a priori, hostile environments: as many forms of sport exposure to danger that intrigue and fascinate at a time. This work is an exploration of the process of corporal engagement and disengagement, considered in their epistemic and empirical aspects. Two main questions mark this analysis: 1) how to conceive the corporal engagement in its complexity, through dialogue and complementary patterns of intelligibility; 2) more specifically, how do they become engaged in such activities, and why, suddenly, they decide to “hang up”?The analysis of thirty stories of sportsmen engaged in "at-risk" nature activities highlights the dynamic process of engagement, retention and disengagement. Thus, if commitment is rarely the result of chance, it is more than a mere reflexivity. Sometimes the commitment is born from experiences and unpredictable encounters. This work also confirms the results of many motivations studies of practitioners: search of sensation, autonomy, performance, subcultural emulation, etc. However, it differs from showing how these patterns of engagement, far from opposing, they are articulated and completed in a systematic way. Finally, after stressing the crucial role, in the eyes of the respondents, of the autonomy and the responsibility set up as true ethics, we show how difficult is to disengage. To hang up is a process experienced differently depending on whether the sportsman was prepared or not.To understand physical engagement requires a final enlargement as regards body, culture, risk and security, autonomy, and from a broader perspective, responsibility. Therefore, the body engagement constitutes a support in perfect harmony with its time: it mixes, combines, and sometimes objects the dynamics of identity induced by capacities, reflexivity and emotions

Full textPolitical ideology can be described in terms of value pluralist theory. Much of the variation between political ideologies can be explained by the fact that the principles that are essential to society--liberty, equality, fraternity, peace, loyalty, and civilization--are incommensurable and often conflict forcing each person and community to emphasize some principles over others leading to an imperfect society. Each political ideology is a combination of interests and the selected balance of principles and thus can be essentially defined according to the level of preference for each of these six principles. This paper studies major political ideologies throughout the globe and develops a model for understanding them in these terms. This paper further argues for a pluralist democracy, with constantly shifting ideological dominance in a community as the next best thing to an impossible utopia and the only means of preventing the collapse of society due to a lack of essential principles. This model makes clear the fallacy of understanding political ideology in terms of "left" and "right," which not only oversimplify political ideology but also fundamentally misrepresent it. It also leads to narrowing visions of politics that prevent significant changes to a political system and undermine the possibility for pluralist democracy

Full textBased on an empirico-inductive approach, this research is an analytical description and interpretative synthesis of Haitian sociolinguistic practices from the perceptions of both French and Creole (co-official languages). Positioned way ahead of Haitian Creole and English, French is at the core of social demands due to its role in socioprofessional integration in Haiti. Because it functions as a second language compared to Haitian Creole – first language in Haiti – it generates discriminations, insecurity and security in school and extracurricular verbal interactions. In this context, Frenchified Creole as an index of school-goers' apparent double identity (CreoloFrench-Speaking) can not replace French. The self-management of Haitian linguistic plurality is then considered through « field » sociodidactics so as to reduce linguistic insecurity and facilitate educational success. The approach proposed in this study is « contextualised enunciative didactics ». It considers Haitian French as a construct from local, self-managed and shared linguistico-cultural ressources, and it allows to transpose the speaking learners' daily extra-curricular practices into ordinary school practices to liberate speech

Full textThis manuscript deals with a multi-scale geomorphological and tectonic analysis of Provence, a region where large scale historical earthquakes (intensities of VIII or even IX) have been recorded during the last centuries (e.g. in Lambesc, 1909). If the intensity of historical earthquakes is relatively high in Provence, the region undergoes a weak microseismicity, hence the need for a tectonic, geomorphologic and paleoseismologic approach to understand the recent deformations. In order to evaluate the large-scale morphogenesis in Provence, we evaluated the denudation rates of the carbonate ranges of the region by measuring 36Cl cosmogenic isotope concentrations. We obtain comparable denudation rates between different sites (in the order of 20-60 mm/ka) and comparable to previous studies in this type of contexts (e.g. Ryb et al., 2014a, b), except for the Grand Luberon and the Lure mountain, which erode more quickly (up to 140 mm/ka). This approach was applied on a smaller scale by focusing on the Petit Luberon, where we compare the denudation of the summit surface to the denudation averaged over several watersheds on its southern and northern flanks. Finally, we implemented a multi-disciplinary approach on a local scale, associating high-resolution mapping, electrical resistivity measurements, paleoseismology, granulometry, 14C and OSL dating, in order to obtain a better understanding of Quaternary and Holocene behavior of a fault segment located in Vinon-sur-Verdon. Our analysis confirms that deformation occurred in the last 200 thousand years on this contact but demonstrates the absence of deformation in the last 16000 years

Full textPiaget, Inhelder and Szeminska (1948) analysed the age evolution of a geometric drawing two-lines composed and forming an angle. The results obtained are interpreted in the stadist piagetian model. In accordance with the strategy choice model (Siegler, 1996; 2007) and with the intra-individual variability importance (Lautrey, 2003), our thesis takes up this analysis with hypothesis that each participant have at his disposal several procedures. We explore the 6 to 12 aged children and adult procedural repertory by suggesting the copy in different experimental conditions: spontaneous copy, several copies in proceeding (in other way), copy with specific instrument use,. We also attempt to complete this repertory by showing the participant a procedure he could not have produced by himself. The obtained results are suitable with plural models of development: from the age of ten, the children have several strategies for copying the drawing. However, the intra-individual variability observed in this task is forced by experimental conditions and instrumental and conceptual knowledge of the participant, in particular the acquisition of angle concept

Full text"Territorialisation of the public sphere: a Polanyian approach applied to the case of Auvergne” is a doctoral research project in Information and Communication Sciences on the contemporary public sphere. This research focuses on democratic issues linked with the coexistence of different scales of articulation of political, economic and symbolic spheres. It is a theoretical and empirical work applied to the regional level (Auvergne- France), using an epistemology of complexity (Edgar Morin), the extended case method” (Michael Burawoy) and an interdisciplinary approach.Public sphere is defined as having a dual empirical and normative dimension (Jürgen Habermas). But in reference to the work of Éric Dacheux, the public sphere is also the consequence of a particular compromise, historically determined, between three orders: political, economic and symbolic systems. As a result, the public sphere is the place where these three systems come into confrontation and interact (empirical dimension) and a proper instance of democracy (normative dimension). In a democracy, it is the place where regulation and social transformation processes take place. The word “Polanyian” refers to research by Karl Polanyi (1886-1964) who demonstrated that even if liberal state, democracy and “market ideology” are historically linked, they are incompatible in the long term. This means that it is necessary to develop a new relationship between the economic sphere and the political sphere compatible with democracy. Communicational activities in the public sphere are considered as intentional human relations aimed creating shared meaning. In a democratic context, this involves a relationship between equal and free persons with irreducible otherness. Communicative action can be one of the modalities, although it is rather a normative ideal, while empirical reality is characterized by miscommunication and the prior expression of disagreements from which one can build a deliberative activity. The empirical research field is based on a study of the regional public sphere as an “emerging public sphere”. The tools used are “focus groups”, “interactive interviews” with some political actors and actors of the social and solidarity economy living in Auvergne, and the result of a participant observation as a political actor. Participatory democratic practices initiated by the Regional Council are thus described and analyzed. This research approach leads to the proposal for the representation of a “territorialized plural public sphere” representation. It vindicates a plural economy approach in Information and Communication Sciences

Full textIn an economy founded on the knowledge and the data, the mastery of informational resources became one of the main factors of success and competitiveness of all innovating organization. It is what explains the important investment on the subject on behalf of all economic actors. In this context, the Knowledge Management appears like an answer permitting to organize and to master the knowledge and expertise’s acquired in intern to act in external. The knowledge management has for goal to have a lasting information system and an informational dynamics within the organizations. Our topic drove us to a long observation of the preoccupations of the actors of the community Knowledge Management. We studied their main questionings in the different channels of communication; we regrouped their waiting thereafter in two big questions that constitute our questions of research indeed. This research aims to reach two main objectives : The 1st objective is to understand how to put a gait Knowledge Management in place in an organization and to know if this gait is the same for any type of organization. Otherwise what the factors of contingency are to take in consideration? The 2nd objective: once this gait setting up, is. her evolutive, changing and incremental or she remain static? These two objectives constitute the two main parts that we treat in this thesis. To answer this problematic, we chose to use a methodological pluralism leaning on the one hand on methods of informational intelligence, on the other hand on a quantitative survey with the help of a questionnaire and finally on a qualitative survey via interviews

Full textSpatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs) have been implemented over the last twenty years in particular in order to contribute to Environmental Policy by improving geographic information access and sharing processes. Given the current dynamics of both production and circulation of environmental geographic information, the general aim underlying this research is part of the general framework for a better understanding of environmental management practices. This research focuses specifically on French SDIs and their contribution to Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM), a complex form of territorial governance for which the collection and sharing, particularly via SDIs, of geographic information have been identified, since the 2000s, as a major component on which to found coastal and marine public policies. However, the real contribution of SDIs depends on the answers they provide to their users. From a methodological perspective, this PhD is implemented by an exploratory research approach focusing on the usages and needs of coastal stakeholders as well as on the complex and dynamic nature of SDIs. The research approach is divided into two phases: - A national online survey examined by a triple analysis: Statistical analysis, Social Network Analysis (SNA) and thematic analysis;- A sub-national case study based on semi-structured interviews with key informants and analyzed thematically and by Data Flow Diagrams (DFD). These data collection and analysis techniques have been selected and implemented in an integrated and complementary approach to enable understanding, explanation and generalization of the "SDI system" in the context of ICZM. For each phase of the research, three types of results emerged: the profile of users, the type of SDIs playing a role in the management of French coasts, and their contribution to the management of these areas. The above-described research has resulted in a contribution to the knowledge of SDI appropriation and the associated information flows

"Analyse de sensibilité aux forçages anthropo-climatiques des paysages protohistoriques et antiques du plateau volcanique de Corent (Auvergne) et de ses marges par une approche géoarchéologique pluri-indicateurs." Full textThis thesis presents the results of a multi-proxy geoarchaeological study of how anthropogenic forces and climate have shaped the evolution of the landscapes of the plateau of Corent (Auvergne, France) from the Neolithic to Roman period. A detailed geomorphological map of the study area was constructed based on LiDAR data and fieldwork. Two areas were selected for geoarchaeological analysis: i) the Lac du Puy, a small pond located within the archaeological site of the plateau of Corent, and ii) la Narse de la Sauvetat, a larger hydromorphic basin in the calcareous lowlands, at the foot of the southwestern slopes of the plateau.Geoarchaeological survey in the Lac du Puy revealed an expansive group of over one thousand storage pits, dating from the Hallstatt period. The results of fieldwork permitted the construction of a chrono-stratigraphic framework and allowed a reconstruction of the main phases of the hydro-morpho-sedimentary and pedological evolution of the basin. Multi-proxy geoarchaeological analysis of sedimentary cores provided additional information concerning palaeoenvironmental evolution of the Lac du Puy. Anthropogenic impact is clearly discernable throughout five millennia starting in the Neolithic, and is identified as the main driver of the palaeoenvironmental evolution of the basin until its final destruction by human activity. In the lowlands, geomorphological analysis of la Narse de la Sauvetat revealed that the hydromorphic basin is the result of the closure of a palaeovalley by a massive landslide issuing from the southwestern slopes of the Puy de Corent. Geomorphological and stratigraphic evidence indicates that the isolation of the basin likely occurred at the beginning of the Subboreal. Lithostratigraphic analysis was used to reconstruct the main phases of the evolution of the basin from its initial alluvial phase in the late Pleistocene, through to its hydromorphic and palustrine dynamics from the late Neolithic, highlighting the strong palaeoenvironmental potential of its sedimentary record. Multi-proxy geoarchaeological analysis of three sedimentary cores from the basin, combined with results of external malacological analysis, allowed a reconstruction of the palaeoenvironmental evolution of the basin from the late Neolithic to the early Middle Ages. Results obtained from the Lac du Puy and La Narse de la Sauvetat were integrated into the broader morpho-sedimentary system of the plateau and its margins for the period between 3000 BC and 1 AD. The geographic and temporal perspective was then further enlarged through comparison with temperate Western Europe data. The evolution of the socio-environmental system of Corent and southern Limagne was analysed in detail for the first millennium BC. Finally the role of proto-urbanization processes in the forcing of morpho-sedimentary systems is examined, marking their entry into the anthropocene

Full textThe intensity at which soils provide ecosystem services are function of soil properties that permanently evolved according to numerous processes. Lessivage and bioturbation are of crucial importance as they imply the clay size fraction but are still poorly characterized. This study aims at i) developing a digital 2D image analysis method to quantify both processes intensity, ii) quantifying the effect of two centuries of continuous cultivation and of a decade of organic amendments spreading on their intensity, and iii) characterizing their dynamics. We succeeded in quantifying those processes by carefully considering different levels of soil organization while combining a colorimetric and a textural approach. The percentage volume of worm-worked soil since 10 000 to 15 000 years is 65% at 40 cm depth and between 20 and 30% at 150 cm depth that corresponds to a soil mass flow of 6 500 t.ha-1, i.e. 1 700 t.ha-1 of clay size fraction. Illuviation is responsible for a clay size fraction mass flow of 1 100 t.ha-1. On a time scale as short as two centuries, cultivation was found to induce i) a change of the soil poral network characteristics until 1 meter depth, ii) a modification of the structure of the worm-worked soil volume, and finally iii) an increase of the lessivage intensity. A decade of organic matter spreading tended to lower the intensity of lessivage. Finally, our study points out the fact that soils are highly reactive and that our method may be particularly helpful to predict soil evolution while facing climate change among others

Full textTraditional medical knowledge, which is the aspect of traditional medicine relating to the knowledge of plant-based therapy and which goes from collecting plants to issuing a finished product, is a key component for providing health care coverage for all. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), traditional medical knowledge contributes about 80% of primary health care in Africa. Traditional medical knowledge is perceived as a valuable source of information useful to eradicate African endemic diseases. The WHO and the African Union (AU) consider that traditional medical knowledge is a serious way for researchers to develop new and affordable drugs. Traditional medicinal knowledge is also important for the drug industry where it represents 30% of the researches made in the pharmaceutical sector and constitutes the main source of information in the herbal medicine sector. The drug industry’s increasing interest for traditional medical and the huge media coverage for biopiracy cases strengthened the (scientific, economic, social and politic) value of traditional medicinal knowledge and contribute to justify their protection. However contrary to the current trend in many African countries, it appears that the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) and the Bangui Agreement, does not provide any suitable legal protective mechanism for the intellectual property rights of the holders of traditional medical knowledge (traditional healers, families, indigenous and local communities). In view of the limits and weaknesses of the intellectual property mechanisms to provide an effective protection to traditional medicinal knowledge’s holders, it is quite legitimate to question the legal mechanism or system to implement. In other words, what type of sui generis protection OAPI members can enact to protect traditional medicinal knowledge? This is the question that the present study intends to answer. The aim is to demonstrate from a prospective approach with regards to human rights, international intellectual property law, civil law, biodiversity law, and national laws, in particular the ones of the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), that it is possible to build a coherent and adapted legal regime

Full textIn the water scarcity context with the global climate change, drought tolerance must be taken into account in crop genetic improvement program, particularly for grapevine rootstocks. The objective of this thesis was to analyse at the whole plant level, the genetic determinism of rootstock effect on the transpiration and growth of the scion, under edaphic water deficit conditions. The study of these complex traits, submitted to a strong genotype × environment interaction, was performed with a quantitative genetic approach. Genotype × environment interactions were integrated with two methods: first, using response curve to an environmental variable for detecting QTL, and secondly, to combine data in a multi-environment QTL analysis. The pedigree population consisted of 138 F1 individuals derived from the interspecific cross of Vitis vinifera Cabernet Sauvignon × Vitis riparia Gloire de Montpellier. This family was mapped with single sequence repeats (SSR) markers. This population was assessed as rootstock, so every genotype was grafted with the same scion. Then, QTL were detected for transpiration, water use efficiency and transpiration plasticity induced by rootstock, and for growth and biomass allocation inside the whole plant. Transpiration plasticity was represented as a function of substrate water status and was genetically determined with distinct genome regions from the other traits related to water consumption. Candidate genes involved in hormonal (ABA) or hydraulic (aquaporins) signaling between rootstock and scion, under water deficit conditions, were localized in the QTL confidence interval. Some specific genome regions were involved in growth and confered vigour genetic determinism under water deficit conditions. These regions were also different from those identified for transpiration or water use efficiency. This result allows a further selection process for these two traits groups independently

Full textThis exploratory study aims to present some readings as Doy? (2003), Carrasco Perea (2003), Melo Ara?jo e S? (2004), Chavagne (2009) and Alas-Martins (2010; 2011) which helped to confirm some ways for showing that a plurilingual environment can enable a trend in improving the understanding of written texts in the mother tongue, and can collaborate on a better perception of the world around a person with all their different nuances. The study describes the methodology and some results of our doctoral research that resulted in the insertion of the experimental discipline called Intercomprehension of Romanic Languages (ILR) in the curriculum in the city of Natal / RN / Brazil, and it was justified because of high functional illiteracy degree among young people up to 15 years old according to the educational data from IBGE research on 2010. The results were verified through an experimental action-research which was characterized by Lewin (1946); Nunan (1992); Thiollent (1994) and Trip (2005) in two schools: Professoara Terezinha Paulino de Lima (municipal school) and Professora Ana Julia de Carvalho Mousinho (State of Rio Grande do Norte), with 95 students from the final years of primary education. The corpus of this research was subjected to a series of condensed techniques like the nonparametric test from Kruskal and Wallis (1952) and the parametric test ANOVA as an effort to provide statistical significance to the analysis of the results indicated in the book of ILR activities. The research presented some skill views about reading comprehension of written texts according to perspective of Ringbow (1987), Giacobbe (1990), Alarc?o (1991; 2009a and 2009b), Corder (1992), Castellotti (2001) and Degache (2003), and the possibilities of transfer these skills for learning Portuguese as pointed out by Meissner, Klein and Stegmann (2004); it indicates a positive trend towards the understanding of LM according to analyzing the scores of written tests and texts by participants in solving tasks
