Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract Private law theory must confront the plurality of values that inform the problems that private law addresses in practice. We consider Hanoch Dagan’s and Michael Heller’s The Choice Theory of Contracts as a case-study in the promise and perils that embracing plural values poses for private law theory. We begin by arguing that private law theory cannot ignore value pluralism and identify three approaches that theory might take to pluralism. We call these approaches capitulating to, leveraging, and embracing value pluralism. We illustrate each approach and assess its strengths and weaknesses. Theories that capitulate to pluralism simultaneously limit their scope and hamper their persuasiveness even within their restricted domains. Theories that leverage pluralism limit their domains more dramatically still. And theories that embrace pluralism are difficult to operationalize in practice without abandoning their pluralist roots. We briefly illustrate the drawbacks of capitulating to and leveraging pluralism with examples from recent contract theory. We then take up theories that embrace pluralism in greater detail, by studying Dagan and Heller’s approach. We argue that Dagan and Heller do not solve the deep problems that operationalizing their embrace of pluralism inevitably engenders.

Abstract:
Abstract The present paper revisits Dror's (2016a) analysis of collective nouns and their agreement patterns in the Qur'ān. Collectives are ‘unmarked plurals’, i.e. morphologically singular nouns that semantically refer to a plurality of entities. With respect to agreement, Dror distinguishes between singular agreement (syntactic) and plural agreement (semantic), signalling respectively a holistic or distributive reference. We argue that, although the consideration of plural agreement as semantically motivated is correct, gender should also be taken into consideration, especially when a mismatch occurs between morphologically masculine singular collectives and feminine singular agreeing targets. The present paper, grounded in a typological approach, demonstrates that feminine singular agreement with masculine singular controllers represents another form of semantic agreement, in which the controller is considered as a non-individuated plural.

This article will see the problem of pluralism through multi- dimensional approach. The plural society is not only the characteristic of modern industrial society, but also the characteristic of Islamic society, since the Prophet (PBUH) era. Normatively, al-Quran clearly rejects the exclusif way of life. In todays life, admitting diversity but having no will to create harmony will cause an unendless problem. Pluralism is the divine design which must be applied in manner and action. This must not stop in the discourse, but more practical. Human being is not merely a homo pluralist, who appreciate the diversity, but homo multiculturalist, who believe that in a plural relation there must be build real actions based on equality and justice.

Abstract:
AbstractHow far can monotheism be reconciled with the pluralism characteristic of modern societies? In this article, I focus on the “value pluralism” of Isaiah Berlin, which I suggest captures a deeper level of plurality than Rawls's more familiar version of pluralism. However, some critics have objected that Berlinian pluralism is too controversial an idea in which to ground liberalism because it is profoundly at odds with the monotheism professed by so many citizens of a modern society. I argue that monotheists can be value pluralists as long as they do not insist that their faith is superior to all others. This pluralist position is exemplified by elements of the interfaith movement, according to which many religions are recognized as having roughly equal value. I also argue that a value-pluralist approach to religious accommodation, if it can be achieved, may be more stable than the uneasy combination of disapproval and restraint involved in the more orthodox solution to conflict among religions, toleration.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTObserving the increasing, yet still partial exploration of pluralism, complexity and multiplicity in recent Labour party historiography, this article pursues a pluralist approach to Labour on two central, related themes of its middle-century evolution. First, it probes the plurality of Labour's different conceptions of time, specifically how it lived with the ambiguity of simultaneously viewing social progress as both immediate and rapidly achievable, yet also long term and strewn with constraints. This co-existence of multiple time-frames highlights the party's uncertainty and ideological multi-dimensionality, especially in its focus both on relatively rapid economic or structural transformation, and on much more slow-moving cultural, ethical, and educational change. It also complicates neat characterizations of particular phases in the party's history, challenging straightforwardly declinist views of the post-1945–51 period. Secondly, time connects to Labour's view of the people. Whilst historians have debated between positive and negative perceptions of the people, here the plural, split mind of Labour about the progressive potential of the citizenry is stressed, one closely intertwined with its multiple outlook on how long socialism would take. Contrasts are also suggested between the time-frames and expectations under which Labour and the Conservatives operated.

Abstract:
The reality of a nation that shows the existence of conditions of cultural diversity, defines the choice to adopt pluralist principles. In the principle of pluaralism there is an awareness that the nation is not single, but composed of many different components. Indonesia is one of the largest pluralist countries in the world. The various plurality that exist in Indonesia consists of diversity of social class, ethnicity, race, gender, religion, language, and age. This fact leads us to a concept that Indonesia is not formed from one tribe, one culture, one religion, one race and group but precisely Indonesia is formed from diversity. Pluralism very appreciated by the Qur'an society consists of various diverse communities and different. With such diversity and distinction emphasized the necessity of each competing in virtue. The Qur'an is very democratic towards religious pluralism as a phenomenon and does not want a clash between clashes. The Qur’an concept of religious pluralism that has been mentioned in Islamic education is in the form of curriculum, teaching method, delivery of subjects from kindergarten to university to achieve the desired goals. This study attempts to reveal its implementation pluralism in Islamic education, in literary approach.

Abstract:
AbstractThis article is concerned with plural marking in two English-lexified creoles, Jamaican Patwa and Tok Pisin. In addition to bare plurals, these creoles possess two overt strategies of plural marking—a free-standing morpheme and the suffix -s. The analytic and inflectional plural markers occur according to different linguistic constraints. It appears that the creoles use two conceptually and typologically different number marking systems — that of set noun languages, based on the opposition between singleton and collective sets, and that of singular object noun languages, based on the opposition between singular and plural individuals. This poses problems for the definition of the lexical semantics of the creole nouns if one assumes the existence of cross-linguistic differences. The analysis proposed here is based on the universalist approach to lexical semantics. Under this approach, individuated and collective (set) interpretations of plurals are encoded in the noun phrase structure.

Abstract:
AbstractThis paper discusses a group of Brazilian Portuguese plurals that end with the nasal diphthong [–ão] in their singular form. When pluralized, these words can take three plural forms: [–ões], [–ãos], or [–ães]. Each of these words has an etymological source that defines which morpheme should be applied to the plural form. However, in some cases, a different plural form is used instead of the etymological one. A set of psycholinguistic experiments was carried out with Brazilian Portuguese speakers. The goal was to analyze whether token or type frequency affects the choice of plural form for these words. The results show an interaction between type and token frequency, in the sense that type frequency serves as the basis for analogy, and token frequency can determine which words will be affected by the variation.

This article analysed exotic plural forms of loanwords denoting foreign currency names in the English, French, and Italian languages, the specificities of their translation from/into Ukrainian and presentation in Ukrainian bilingual dictionaries. The findings of the research prove that there is no unequivocal approach to the use of either exotic or adapted plurals in the names of foreign currencies and coins in English, French, and Italian. The analysis of academic materials within this research allows a recommendation to consult dictionaries for correct exotic plural forms in all the three languages, recognising the appropriateness of the adaptation of borrowed plurals to the native morphological model in the French and Italian languages. In Ukrainian translations and the presentation in Ukrainian bilingual dictionaries, this approach should be preserved, with additional information provided on the donor language from which the exotic form was borrowed to ease the reader’s comprehension and choice of the plural to be used.

In this article I evaluate the conceptions of politics and of ‘the political’ characteristic of ‘radical pluralism’. I argue that in order to comprehend the radically pluralist conception of politics it is necessary to grasp the post-structuralist critique of the philosophical principle of identity. The concern with the interface between politics and ethics – which is typical of the radical pluralist approach – is also explored. Throughout the article contrast is made with the conventional pluralism of American political science. I conclude with a consideration of the importance of radical pluralism, with reference to the difficulties this may present for the methods and suppositions of political science traditionally understood.

Abstract:
According to the author of article, the popularity of the word “values” in scientific and public discourse is due to the logics of how this word is used in the plural, which, in turn, indicates a situation of plurality of values. This article outlines the genealogy of situation of plurality of values on the basis of the works of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Friedrich Nietzsche, Max Weber. They reflect the different phases of understanding this situation, which appears from the opposition of modern values to traditional values, and European values – the values of other peoples; when Rousseau protests against such opposition, appealing to natural condition of virtue, which doesn’t know such opposition, Nietzsche recognizes the situation of the plurality of values inevitable, because different values correspond to different human inclinations, needs and desires; when Rousseau considers the spread of science and education to be the cause of a situation of plurality of values, Weber postulates the neutrality of science in relation to the values. The situation of plurality today turns into such problems as the conflict of values, the solution of which is the acceptance of pluralism and in the age of pluralism – the problem of relativization of values. Olivier Reboul, famous French philosopher of education, formulates this problem as a contradiction between the universalist and particularist approach to the European values, which makes education impossible as the transfer of values. On the basis of articulated approaches to this contradiction by Reboul, the author distinguishes the positions of “particularist fundamentalism” and “universalist fundamentalism”. Overcoming this contradiction is possible by rethinking the correlation between particular and universal values, as well as finding universal values that would ensure the unity of separate identities without destroying them. According to the author, in the modern world such values become freedom and science, without which the freedom to choose one's own values is incomplete.

Abstract:
AbstractThis research departs from Islamic Religious Education which is felt to be incomplete in teaching the values of diversity to students so that it can cause students to live in intolerant nuances. This research seeks to provide an overview of an inclusive and pluralist Model of Islamic religious education as an alternative to realizing religious moderation. The research approach used in this study is a Systematic Literature Review with data collection carried out by analyzing or reviewing relevant research writings and articles. The data analysis technique used by researchers is a descriptive synthesis analysis technique (narrative). The result of this study inclusive-pluralistic Islamic religious education is an educational model that is constructed using an understanding and foundation of differences that include sunnatullah, showing the spirit of tolerance, religion, and pluralism, to produce educational outputs that have humanist, democratic, tolerant, pluralist behavior so that the character of students is formed by religious and national values. The pluralist inclusive Islamic religious education model can be seen in terms of the curriculum which includes material that reflects the vision of appreciation and peace towards other religions. These methods allow freedom of thought, and evaluation that is open to all stakeholders, not just students. Then also educators are touched by the discourse of religious thought and the struggle of thought on issues surrounding pluralism, interfaith dialogue, and tolerance. And finally, students are seen as individuals with the potential to have social care and critical thinking skills. Abstract:
This article studies the grammatical case of the Pashto language, with its focus on the oblique plural case of words terminating in different types of the letter ی /Yey/, where such cases of words are formed by replacing its various types with either و /waaw/, or یو /yow/. A summative approach to qualitative content analysis was used to analyse the data. The current grammatical rules of such words were studied in-depth but did not include rules where the oblique plurals thereof end in یانو /yaanow/. The study aimed to explore the problems of related grammatical rules and the trend of making such plurals where, except for the long Yey ې, the writers tend to replace most types of the letter Yey with یو /yow/. The paper also investigates what type of the letter Yey ی must be replaced with و and what type with یو, and whether replacing every type thereof with و or replacing all with یو will create ambiguity concerning the meaning of words used in their oblique plural cases. The study found that replacing all or most types of this letter with و or replacing all or most types thereof with یو results in ambiguity leading to the wrong meaning of words. In addition, findings hereof showed that only the feminine Yey ۍ should be replaced with یو. A fresh approach to making the oblique plural cases of such words has been introduced, and new rules are proposed, thereby facilitating writers in figuring out the correct oblique plural case of words. This study is the first attempt at unearthing the problems associated with the oblique plurals, as prior to this, no such study has been done in regard thereto.

This study investigates the development of the noun plural inflectional category in Danish children from the first appearance up to the age of 10 years. It is based on a multi-method research approach in order to get a fuller picture of Danish children’s acquisition of noun plurals. The study rests on a sound-based analysis of the Danish noun plural system, and investigates the hypothesis that the productivity of the plural markers has an impact on acquisition. In order to test the hypothesis, a scale with three degrees of productivity for plural markers is proposed: 1) fully productive; 2) semi-productive; and 3) unproductive. The acquisition rate is predicted to go from fully productive to semi-productive to unproductive plural markers and the error direction to go from unproductive to semi-productive to fully productive plural markers. These predictions are confirmed by the study.

Abstract:
This article develops a comparative and recursive approach to political ontology by drawing on the ontological turn in anthropology. It claims that if ontological commitments define reality, then the use of ontology by recent pluralist political theorists must undercut pluralism. By charting contemporary anthropology’s rereading of structuralism as part of a plural understanding of ontology, it will be shown that any political ontology places limits on the political, and thus cannot exhaust political experience. This position will be established through an analysis of the role of Claude Lévi-Strauss in the work of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe and a comparison with the political ontology represented by perspectivism and potential affinity. Anthropology’s lesson for political theory is that ontology cannot simply be revised and treated in the singular, but that political ontologies must be analysed comparatively to reveal the shortcomings of, and recursively alter, one’s own political frame of reference.

Abstract:
In On Social Facts (1989) and subsequent works, Margaret Gilbert has suggested a plural subject account of the semantics of ‘we’ that claims that a central or standard use of ‘we’ is to refer to an existing or anticipated plural subject. This contrasts with the more general approach to treat plural pronouns as expressions referring to certain pluralities. I argue that (i) the plural subject approach cannot account for certain syntactic phenomena and that (ii) the sense of intimacy, which Gilbert cites as evidence for her plural subject account, has a different source than the existence of joint commitments constituting a respective plural subject. Moreover, (iii) there is a wide variety of phenomena in the linguistic record, which, while not constituting conclusive evidence against the plural subject account, nevertheless, are dealt with better by the plurality account. ‘We’ thus refers to pluralities, which may or may not be plural subjects. The precise analysis of ‘we’ thus reveals a multi-layered ontology of groups.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to show the motivations for the existence of plural forms in the sugarcane agribusiness in the western region of São Paulo state, Brazil, particularly in the supply of sugarcane to sugar and/or alcohol plants. Design/methodology/approach – This research was conducted by applying interviews with the individuals in charge of the supply from a group of ten plants in this region that compete both for land for planting and for sugarcane itself. Findings – The findings show that plurality was observed in different levels of analysis (clusters): first, the plurality of transactions of sugarcane with different agents; second, plurality in hybrid arrangements or contracts; and finally, plurality in the same transaction. The reasons for the maintenance at Level 1 are various but, balancing the risks of the structures was an important motivator for this decision, while at Levels 2 and 3, the plural forms proved transitory, given the time of the contract and payment methods. Originality/value – One of the contributions of this study is to determine that generalizations about the transience or stability of plural forms are not appropriate. Another contribution of the research is the observation that in São Paulo’s western region the singular forms of governance in sugarcane supply are not the most common for entrepreneurs who wish to work in sugar and/or alcohol production. Plural forms, as previously postulated in the literature, are more common.

Abstract:
AbstractLegal pluralism is a contemporary image of law that has been advanced by sociolegal scholars in response to the dominant monist image of law as derivative of the political state and its progeny. The pluralistic image redirects law and society research toward the myriad normative orders outside the circle of “the Law.” This essay considers the epistemological foundations of both legal pluralism and the legal monist image of law against which its proponents are reacting. It argues that contemporary pluralistic imaginations rest on the same impoverished view of law and its subjects that sustains the traditional claim that law comprises only the processes and institutions emanating from the modern political state. The authors propose an alternative image of law in an effort to redirect the sociolegal studies research agenda.Challenging the traditional social-scientific legal pluralism of reified cultures and communities, the idea of critical legal pluralism presented in this essay rests on the insight that it is knowledge that maintains and creates realities: a critical legal pluralism imagines legal subjects as “law inventing” and not merely “law abiding.” The authors argue that, once the constructive, creative capacities of legal subjects are recognized alongside the plurality of these same subjects, the relationship between laws and selves reveals its complexity. They acknowledge that their approach is only one of many possible critical legal pluralist approaches; but they maintain that any reconception of law within a framework of critical legal pluralism is a form of emancipatory prescription. As definitions of law are revised and rejected, new vistas are opened for sociolegal scholarship.

Abstract: Indonesia is a plural state. Not only ethnicity, race and group, but also plural in religion where religious plurality is also a separate problem. The problem of religious plurality raises many problems that cause friction in life together. The linguistic cultural approach offered by George A. Lindbeck provides an alternative for relations for believers of diverse religion. Lindbeck's offer consistently provides space for the identity of the believer's faith without having to equate with the faith of other religions. Likewise, consistently provide space for appreciation for other religious faiths.

Abstract:
Indonesia's plural society requires the formulation and relationships of life that are not taken for granted, but must be inclusive, progressive and pluralistic. If there is no scientific paradigm with its plural character, then there will be attitude that tends to be repressive or al-taṭarruf (extreme). The repressive act or the imposition of theological understanding will lead to destruction or conflict. Therefore, this study is formulated as: How paradigm of Islamic theology study can be built in accordance with the interests of its era? How to build a pattern of ideal relationship between the religions in a plural country like Indonesia? Results of this study is that the approach of Islamic theology study will be able to encourage the emergence of paradigm of Islamic study and paradigm on pattern of inter-religion relationship to build paradigm of plural Islamic theology, patterns of relationships and sincere inter-religion cooperation, namely de jure pluralism (being religious), not as de facto pluralism (having religious). Abstract:
In Dominican Spanish, speakers produce the marker /‑(e)se/ to turn singulars arroz and gallina into the plurals arrócese and gallínase. Núñez Cedeño (2003) proposed that grammar alone is insufficient to account for its distribution. He introduced an information structure explanation suggesting that pragmatic factors guided speakers in selecting specific grammatical contexts to insert a /‑(e)se/ plural [instead of a /‑(e)s/ plural]. Colina (2006) proposed an alternative optimality analysis arguing that the regular plural is formed on a plural /‑s/ regulated by a constraint which prevents it from surfacing. This paper proposes a three-pronged approach to counter previous analyses. Firstly, it shows that the ‘double plural’ does not exist and that /‑e/, not /‑s/, signals plural formation. Secondly, this analysis shows that previous accounts relying on focused constituents only cannot hold because /‑se/ realization occurs both in focus and topic positions. Thirdly, based on the Expressive Morphology hypothesis, this article proposes that /‑se/ is an expressive morphological marker used under some restricted morpho-phonological conditions.

Abstract This article discusses the role of language in the collaboration between science, policy, and society. Combining computational methods of corpus linguistics (manifold learning) with sociological field theories, we analyze approximately 30,000 articles that were published in the field of transdisciplinary sustainability studies. We show that the field oscillates between deliberative and technocratic vocabularies and can therefore be characterized as a transversal field. We conclude that researchers who collaborate in science–society interstices are thrown into a semantic pluralism that cannot be boiled down to a common language. For transdisciplinary research practice and corresponding science policies, this involves trade-offs between generating a homogenous language and a collaborative appeal; between creating a stable creole and a situated semantic plurality. A corresponding theoretical viewpoint and science policy approach should be based on a pluralist view on the science–society–policy interplay.

Abstract:
The article explores the concept of legal pluralism. According to this concept law is regarded as a complex and multifaceted system of social regulation. It is confirmed that legal pluralism in general is opposed to a monistic understanding of the world. It is proved that the concept of "legal pluralism" was formed in the framework of such areas of legal thought as the sociology of law (G. D. Gurvich, E. Ehrlich, L. I. Petrazhitsky, P. A. Sorokin, N. S. Timashev, etc.), legal ethnology and legal anthropology (B. Malinovsky, A. R. RadcliffeBrown, etc.). The author affirms that at present the principle of legal pluralism is moving from the field of scientific discussions toward legal life. It was stated that legal pluralism rejects definitions of law exclusively as a result of state activity, and presupposes the existence of an unofficial law as a fact of legal reality. State law in this perspective is considered in one phenomenological series with canonical law, law of corporations, international law, norms of other social institutions. Summarizing, the author supports the point of view that the legal reality is more diverse than standardized and unified state rules of conduct. It can be argued that legal pluralism, denying the definition of law exclusively as a result of state activity, implies the existence of an informal law as a legal reality. This follows from the fact of social relations that are legal by their very nature. In other words, the pluralist approach refutes the one-line evolution of law, confirms the plurality of its forms and allows us to prove the existence of unofficial law in the legal life.

After giving a brief overview of different patterns in the Christian attitudes toward other religions, the author focuses upon three main responses to religious plurality: exclusivism, inclusivism, and pluralism. Some tentative lines for a trinitarian-oriented theology of religions are developed. This approach opens up the possibility of a pluriform and contextual response without compromising the Christian faith. Such a theology has different points of entry: there is the Christ-centered approach and a pneumatological perspective on religious pluralism. Both are related in a theocentric framework. Though distinct, these three perspectives on religious plurality should not be detached from each other.

Abstract:
This study analyses the emergence of the noun plural category in typically developing Danish-speaking children from its first appearance up to the age of 10 years, focusing on the impact of sound structure and input frequency. We use a multi-method research approach comparing different data types (dictionary data, naturalistic spontaneous child language input and output, semi-naturalistic/semi-experimental data, experimental data and reported data). We define cross-linguistically three degrees of stem changes (no change, prosodic change, phonemic change), and we also define three degrees of productivity of plural markers (which combine stem change and suffix). Noun plurals emerge from an early age, typically around the second birthday, but the acquisition is still underway at the age of ten years. Plural acquisition is affected by frequency and morphophonological category. Danish children produce more correct plural stems of nouns with non-changing plural stems compared to plural nouns with stem change, and more correct plural stems of nouns with prosodic change than with phonemic change. Furthermore, they produce more correct plural suffixes of nouns with a-schwa suffix than with e-schwa and zero suffix. Danish children also produce more correct plural forms of nouns with a fully productive than a semi-productive plural marker, and more of the latter than of nouns with an unproductive plural marker. We also discuss the important role in Danish of the plural marker ø, where pl = sg.

Abstract:
The relationship between Christianity and indigenous religion has been going on for a long time, but this relationship is not placed in the discourse of inter-religious relations. This is related to the paradigm and social construction in Christianity which has not fully recognized the indigenous religion as a "religion". By using Paul Knitter's approach to the model of inter-religious dialogue, namely exclusivism, inclusivism, and pluralism, this paper aims to observe and analyze Christian narratives and paradigms on the existence of indigenous religion. The narratives and paradigm will be divided into two parts: exclusivism, and pluralism. On the one hand, In exclusivism, indigenous religion is considered as "animism" and not yet "religious", therefore it needs to be "religiousized", or more specifically "Christianized". On the other hand, pluralism focuses on plurality, equality, and emphasizes inter-subjectivity. The analytical method used is descriptive qualitative, which consists of data reduction, data analysis, and drawing conclusions. The data in this paper are sourced from: first, the results of observations made at the Jemaat GPM Siahari, and the Mausuane tribe settlement, Seram Utara Timur Kobi District, Central Maluku Regency. Second, interviews were conducted with several young Christian generations on the Ambon island. And third, literature. In the end, the results of this study indicate that exclusive narratives of Indigenous religion (Jesus is the only way of salvation and truth, the great commission of Jesus Christ, and ancestral religions are considered to have no religion and do not have a God) still tend to be dominant in the socio-religious scope than pluralist narratives (freedom, and religious pluralism).

Abstract:
In this article, we consider the role of value pluralism in theorising urban development and the politics of participatory planning. Rather than situating analyses of urban development in a monist or universalist ethics, where values are reducible to a single universal (e.g. human rights), or a normative pluralism based on the tension between different bearers of political value (e.g. liberty and equality), we argue for a plural ethics to make sense of the complex empirical reality of our cities. Post-consensus theories of planning treat the presence of conflict as an enduring reality in urban development, with Chantal Mouffe providing one way of conceptualising a productive politics of conflict. We extend Mouffe’s plural politics through an appeal to value pluralism in the form of anthropological theories of value. A better understanding of the plural and incommensurable nature of values not only contributes to our understanding of the operation of agonistic pluralism, it also provides a more robust theoretical account of how different urban actors in the city transition from antagonism to agonism, which Mouffe suggests is necessary for a more inclusive urban politics. The politics of value resides in the struggle for legitimacy of particular regimes of value; not just to determine economic value, but to define what value is, and how different values dominate, encompass or otherwise relate to one another. This moral politics approach, via value theory, provides one way of tracing an ethical urbanism that exists between conflict and consensus. It allows us to reframe the central challenge of agonistic pluralism as the transition from antagonistic positions, marked by moral intransigence and immutability, towards more flexible value positions that allow ‘adversaries’ to enter into a viable agonistic politics.

This research will examine the plurality of marriage law from the legality aspect which has implications for its legal status, between imperative and facultative. This study uses a statute approach with an emphasis on the concept of law and legal legislation. Abstract:
A close reading of India’s Constitution indicates that the ideals of pluralism and diversity underpin our basic approach to environmental issues. All the same, the past record of environmental governance in the country suggests that the twin ideals have not been adequately captured through appropriate policies and programmes. Part of the reason for this situation has been the predominant use of command and control instruments for realizing environmental goals. This article argues that the future of environmental governance in India lies in pursuing the principles of pluralism and diversity through balanced approaches to issues. This would imply having an open mind towards ‘command and control’ and ‘market based instruments’, pursuing economic and social development within the ambit of environmental policies, conserving the diversity of landscapes and nurturing a network of public spheres that can create plural viewpoints on environmental issues. In the light of the current environmental scenario in the country, where local commons and global commons fight for space, it is argued that an enlightened ‘fiat and forbearance regime’ that balances the ‘global’ with the ‘local’ offers the best hope for promoting plurality and diversity in environmental governance. The article unfolds the architecture of an enlightened fiat and forbearance regime for India in its local, regional, national and global dimensions. It is argued that a multi-level, multi-stakeholder governance system, if backed by certain enabling principles, can help India realize the paradigm of ‘enlightened fiat and forbearance regime’ in the realm of environment.

Abstract:
Plural of paucity is one type of broken plural used in the classical Arabic. It is used when the number of people or objects ranges from three to 10. Based on our evaluation of four current state-of-the-art Arabic morphological analyzers, there is a lack of identification of broken plural words, specifically the plural of paucity. Therefore, this paper presents Qillah (paucity), a morphological extension that is built on top of other morphological analyzers and uses a hybrid rule-based and lexicon-based approach to enhance the identification of plural of paucity. Two versions of the Qillah were developed, one is based on FARASA morphological analyzer and the other is based on CALIMA Star analyzer, as these are some of the best-performing morphological analyzers. We designed two experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed solution based on a collection of 402 different Arabic words. The version based on CALIMA Star achieved a maximum accuracy of 93% in identifying the plural-of-paucity words compared to the baselines. It also achieved a maximum accuracy of 98% compared to the baselines in identifying the plurality of the words.

Through the exegetical approach to the text of the Gospel of John 14:6, it is obtained the meaning of the supremacy of Christ which is stated by John that He is the only way of salvation or the true Savior. This is a relevant message to be expressed in the ministry of preaching the gospel. Abstract:
This paper traces the Arabic origins of "plural markers" in world languages from a radical linguistic (or lexical root) theory perspective. The data comprises the main plural markers like cats/oxen in 60 world languages from 14 major and minor families- viz., Indo-European, Sino-Tibetan, Afro-Asiatic, Austronesian, Dravidian, Turkic, Mayan, Altaic (Japonic), Niger-Congo, Bantu, Uto-Aztec, Tai-Kadai, Uralic, and Basque, which constitute 60% of world languages and whose speakers make up 96% of world population. The results clearly show that plural markers, which are limited to a few markers in all languages comprised of s/-as/-at, -en, -im, -a/-e/-i/-o/-u, and , have true Arabic cognates with the same or similar forms and meanings, whose differences are due to natural and plausible causes and different routes of linguistic change. Therefore, the results reject the traditional classification of the Comparative Method and/or Family Tree Model of such languages into separate, unrelated families, supporting instead the adequacy of the radical linguistic theory according to which all world languages are related to one another, which eventually stemmed from a radical or root language which has been preserved almost intact in Arabic as the most conservative and productive language. In fact, Arabic can be safely said to be the radical language itself for, besides other linguistic features, sharing the plural cognates in this case with all the other languages alone. Keywords: Plurality, language families and relationships, radical world language, radical linguistic theory

Kata Kunci: Pluralisme, Al-quran dan Implementasi Pendidikan Islam ABSTRACT The attitude of the Qur'an to the Plurality of religion is so clear and is the sunnatullah. Religious pluralism is a historical reality that no one can deny. The plurality of religions in Islam is accepted as a historical reality which is actually colored by the plurality of human life itself, whether plurality in thinking, feeling, living or acting. Therefore, the concept of religious pluralism according to the Quran can be implemented in Islamic education. This research is studied in the form of literature review (Librarian research) with qualitative method with thematic Tafsir approach. In the Qur'aan there is a verse that justifies the plurality of Religion but Religious Pluralism is not justified because the understanding of Religious Pluralism according to the Orientalists is all the same religion, but the concept of Al-Qur'an Plurality is to justify the existence of another religion but the concept of truth according to Al- Qur'an The most true religion is Islam. But the implementation of Islamic education according to Al-Qur'an, Islam teaches the concept of Ukhuwah Islamiyah, where therein Ukhuwah Al-U'budiyah and Ukhuwah Al-Insaniyah are the brotherhood of fellow Beings and brotherhood of fellow human beings. Abstract:
The real purpose of education is humanizing human beings. The most prominent thing in humanity is diversity, plurality or multiculturality. Indonesia is a country consisting of a plural society. This should be realized by all individuals in this nusantara society. Providing awareness of the existence of mulitikulturalitas or pluralism can be pursued in the educational process. For the sake of this interest, then in the educational process there must be some kind of integralization effort between forming the intellect and morality of learners. The function of integralization of moral and intellectual education is to know more about diversity then combine with knowledge and practice with morality then achieve the purposes of national education. The conclusions or findings of Freire’s and Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s analysis approach are the absence of differences in the educational portion, the absence of social classes as the limits of education, and the educator has a role as teacher not only as a facilitator but also as a identifierin diversity and be honest about the history, there is a link between learners and educators, mutual understanding, learners receive teaching, and educators learn to understand learners, and this function is summarized in education for freedom and ing ngarsho sung tuladha, ing madyo mangun karsha, tut wur handayani.

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> Differences in views in a plural community cannot be<br />avoided because each view or philosophy of life is formulated by<br />reasonable people. It is generally accepted that the plurality of<br />life views must be addressed in the spirit of democracy that relies<br />on the use of reason, where each person or group is given the<br />opportunity to convey their perspectives. But the fact shows that<br />the role of reason is getting weaker in deliberation, especially in<br />countries that implement a system of representative democracy.<br />Then, do we thus abandon democracy as an approach in addressing<br />differences of opinion? Using a qualitative approach, the author<br />argues that democracy remains the best choice in addressing<br />differences of views. However, based on Arendt’s concept of<br />politics as a speech, the ideal democratic approach should be<br />deliberative rather than liberal because deliberative democracy<br />aims to transform the perspective of each person or grouhlm.</p><p><br /><strong>Keywords:</strong> politics, pluralism, common sense, agonistic, liberal<br />democracy, deliberative democracy, political speech.</p>

Abstract:
Alan Fox's frames of reference has sparked over half a century of debate between employment relations/human resource management pluralists, radicals and unitarists. But the notion of industrial relations pluralism itself continues to be highly disputed. This commentary tracks the journey from classical pluralism to neo-pluralism, then addresses three articles that offer a variety of radical pluralist alternatives. A fourth paper discussed, suggests a quantitative approach to testing Fox's frames, but this article makes a case for retaining the qualitative, case study method. A fifth explores the revival of paternalism on the border between unitarism and pluralism. Overall, the article argues that classical pluralism, based on trade unions and collective bargaining, is now outdated, but that neo-pluralism is capable of carrying forward its pragmatic, institutional spirit to explore the empirical complexity of contemporary employment relationships around the world. Finally, the discussion of employment relations pluralisms needs to re-engage with the wider political pluralism debate about liberal democratic societies and market economies.

Abstract:
This study aims to look at the diversity condition of Indonesian society related to the discourse of pluralism. Based on the fieldwork conducted from several regions in Indonesia; Samarinda, Manado, and Jakarta which is considered as representative regions in term of its dynamic diversity, by using a socio-political approach, the results of this study show that the condition of diversity in Indonesian society constitutes an asymmetrical discourse of pluralism; a plurality based on social conditions and phenomena that differ from one region to another, one community to another, and one case to another. The concept of pluralism does not merely a notion that emerge because of religious diversity and does not always shape people's behavior in facing diversity. On the contrary, the diversity of Indonesian society will enrich the concept of pluralism to be an ethnic, religious, and political pluralism.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT: Religious pluralism in Indonesia is currently in a state of confusion. The reality of religious diversity is insulated by misguided and superficial interpretations. The space for religious dialogue is entangled by group selfishness, squeezed by religious formalism, as well as claims of theological truth. The approach of dialogue, both exclusivism and inclusivism and even pluralism, has not been able to knit religious plurality. Traditions, symbols, rituals, ethical dimensions and the universal core in religions as a precondition of dialogue are actually a ignored. Such pluralism leads to the relativism of the teachings of religions. In that context, the author offers two approach concepts as a new way of interreligious dialogue. '' Global Ethics '' by Hans Kg and '' Perennial Philosophy '' by Seyyed Hossein Nasr. These two concepts provide an understanding of the unique and unique dimensions of religions that must be observed and should not be ignored. Abstract:
Th is article off ers a history of pluralism as a term in scholarly discourse. It presents the existing research on the question and off ers a contribution on the basis of an inclusive approach that is not limited to one discipline (philosophy or political science) or to one linguistic area. In particular, it references the rich German debate and the important French intellectual developments. Moreover, it considers not only the proponents but also the adversaries of pluralism. Th ere are two recurring elements in the debates on political pluralism. One is the existence, even among the critics of pluralism, of a recognition of plurality at some level. Th e other is the advocacy, even by authors who strongly emphasize confl ict and dissent, of some necessary unity.
