Abstract:
As in the literature of every nation, the Arabs have preserved their precious words about moral virtues through the record of literature. One of these virtues is to spend a contented life away from ambition. The ambition to stockpile goods and stinginess are among the bad morals that the Quran and hadith prevent. The ambition to save and extravagance has been mentioned as two themes in classical Arabic poetry and many poets in this regard have criticized the exorbitant situation. The first three or even four centuries of the Abbasid period corresponds to the socio-economically prosperous period of the Muslims. Therefore, Arab poets who were brought up in this period of history naturally condemned in their poetry not poverty and poverty, but going to extremes with a life of wealth and luxury. In this study, the poems of the Arab poets of the Classical period, whose traces we have been following for a long time, about this exorbitant / extremism are included. The poems that great poets such as Ibn al-Rûmî, Abu Temmâm, Abu al-Atâhiye and al-Mutanabbî said within the scope of the subject were examined in terms of content. Under the prominent headings, the poems that are frequently mentioned in literary sources were selected and the perspective of the poets to the relevant theme was discussed.

Nostalgia and Alienation are defined as the feeling that one has when he finds himself alone without connection with the people around him. He considers himself as a stranger in the society where he lives. This is due to leaving the people and homelands. This is what happened to Arab- American poets, (Emigrant poets) who leave their homelands and people. The current paper presents Arab- American poets’ longing, deep love, nostalgia and feeling of homesickness for their beloved countries in East. It also shows their adherence and alienation to their homelands by remembering the years and times they lived there. It emphasizes literary criticism of describing, analyzing and evaluating some of Arab- American poems.

This study aims to examine the rich tradition of panegyric odes composed by Arab poets in honor of Ottoman sovereigns, highlighting the historical, cultural, and political context that gave rise to this distinctive form of literary expression. The paper seeks to explore the reciprocal relationship between Arab poets and the Ottoman Empire, shedding light on how these poets paid tribute to the imperial majesty, conveyed the sultans’ might, and helped to legitimize their rule. By focusing on a diverse range of panegyric odes from the later periods of the Ottoman Empire, the research encompasses the evolving dynamics of power, patronage, and poetic expression that underpinned this unique interaction between Arab poets and the Ottoman court. The primary purpose of the study is to offer a comprehensive analysis of the thematic and stylistic features of these panegyric odes, elucidating the creative strategies employed by Arab poets to extol the virtues of the Ottoman sultans and to articulate their own political, social, and religious allegiances. The research studies the issue of poetic thefts at Al-Farazdaq, relying on the classifications of the ancient critics, trying to reveal what were the reasons that prompted the poet to steal, studying the critical issue and their types of theft in the poet's poetry, , and critics' opinions on the issue of taking poet from other poets. It has an ancient history of our Arab literature dating back to the first early Arab poetry. Research has studied the types of robberies found in in the poet's poetry. Raiding, usurpation plagiarism the Impersonation, the Vilification and its reasons for the desire of the poet to acquire the unique verses that fit his doctrine of pride. So the search consisted of two researchers and one finalist, the first researcher took up thefts and their types in the hair of the frieze. And the poet's knowledge of it, and the research showed the critics' view of Al Farazdaq thefts. The second researcher studied thefts statistically explaining the way in which poets were taken and how many poets were The second researcher studied thefts statistically explaining how many poets had acquired their poets and how many poets had acquired their poetry. Poetic theft is an important phenomenon that requires research, study and further elaboration of its monetary and psychological impact.

A well-known Arab man, Hatam Taei was a generous, catholic, chivalrous, bountiful man in the pre-Islam period and the Arabs set him as an example of generosity and munificence. He was one of the most generous men of that time and the reputation of his bounty and benevolence is still widespread in all corners of the world. Not only known for generosity among Arab people, but also in other nations’ literatures, his name has been welcomed by poets and used with the hospitality and magnanimity attributes, thus embellishing their works. His poems are full of descriptions for generosity and benevolence and humanitarian characteristics as well as high moral and religious teachings. In the present paper, it was attempted to investigate humanitarian and social characteristics in Hatam Taei’s poems including chastity, hospitality, good fame, tolerance and patience, forgiveness, and lack of interest in worldly commodities.

Abstract:
The paper argues that code mixing which is a key concept of sociolinguistics is highly implemented in contemporary Arab-American poetry as a mechanism of representing identity. It focuses on the innovative use of original codes within the dominant one and examining the poetic expressions that produce mixing in the poetry of contemporary poets with dual identities namely, Suhier Hammad, Safia Elhillo, and Ziad Shlah. This qualitative paper uses textual and analytical methods and is based on concepts such as heteroglossia and hybrid identity. It tackles identity through analysis of selected poems in the collections entitled as Breaking Poems (2008), The January Children (2022) and Taqsim (2006). It contends that, despite the diverse backgrounds and poetic styles such as rap, narrative, and metaphor besides, the poets achieve the similar target which is the negotiation of identities in order to accept the difference and integration with other cultures.

Abstract Yahya Kemal and Nizar Qabbani were two poets who served as diplomats in Spain in the past century on behalf of the governments of Turkey and Syria. Yahya Kemal wrote two poems about Spain, “Dance in Andalusia “ and “Coffee Shop in Madrid”. “Dance in Andalusia,” a poem written about the Flamenco dance, has become very famous. In this poem, he described the traditional dance of the Spanish people and emphasized the place of this dance in their lives and the fun-loving lives of the people of Spain. In almost all of the poems which Nizar Qabbani wrote about Spain, on the other hand, a feeling of sadness rather than joy prevails. He gives a deep sigh in his poems as he regards Andalusia as the one-time land of his ancestors. His most important poem with respect to Spain is the poem entitled “Granada”. This poem is considered to be one of the most significant odes in the Arab literature describing Granada, the pearl of Andalusia, Arab influences there, the Alhambra palace and the sadness felt due to the loss of the city by Arabs. This study analyzes the two most important poems written by Yahya Kemal and Nizar Qabbani concerning Spain, namely “Dance in Andalusia” and “Granada”. Whenever it is deemed appropriate, other poems of the two poets regarding Spain will be dwelt upon and what kind of an influence Andalusia left in their emotional world will be revealed.

The present paper represents an attempt to focus upon analyzing and describing the major features of Arab American poetry written by prominent Arab poets who had arrived in America on behalf of millions of immigrants during the 19th century. Some of who wrote in English and Arabic like Ameen Rihani (1876-1940); Khalil Gibran (1883-1931) and Mikhail Naimy (1889-1988). Others wrote in Arabic like Elia Abumadi (1890-1957). Most of their poems in Mahjar (place of emigration) reveal nostalgia, their love to their countries and their ancestors and issues relating to Arab countries. The paper analyzes some of their poems based on linguistic, grammatical, lexical and rhetorical levels.

Abstract The rajaz meter has always been folkloric, from its inception to this day. It is easy to compose verses in it, so that poets used it to express the concerns of their nation, especially following the consecutive political defeats which the Arab world has experienced. Modern Arab poets use this meter in poems that express the concerns of the common people and urge them to stand together in the face of defeats and despotic, oppressive regimes. The rajaz meter allows them to write in one voice that represents the collective as a whole. The Egyptian poet Ṣalāḥ ’Abd al-Ṣabūr (1931–81) used the rajaz meter in an innovative manner, in a way that he succeeded in making an equilibrium between poetry and prose. This can be seen in his use of the rajaz meter to compose narrative poems, as we shall see in the present study.

It can be said that the subject of the book is not limited only to the forms of poetry composition, but rather it is a selection and description of ancient Kurdish poets, because the book contains interesting information and examples about each of the poets. The book also uses a scientific approach to talk about the relationship of Kurdish poetry to Persian, Arab, and Turkish poetry, and shows the specificity of Kurdish poetry, so it is possible to benefit from the scientific information contained in this book about Islamic literature generally.

Both Arab and Western scholars agree that, starting in the mid-20th century, the correlation of Western Europeans with the Crusaders and the extrapolation of the term “Crusade” to modern military conflicts have become an integral part of modern Arab political discourse, and are also widely reflected in Arab culture. The existence of works examining references to the theme of the Crusades in Arab social thought, politics, and culture of the second half of the 20th century contrasts with the almost complete absence of specialized studies devoted to the analysis of references to this historical era in Arab culture in the 19th century and first half of the 20th. An analysis of references to the era of the Crusades in the work of Arab poets before 1948 shows that, already in the period of the Arab Revival, this topic occupied an important place in the imagery of anti-colonial poetry, and not only in Egypt, Syria, and Palestine, historically attacked by the Crusaders, but also in other regions of the Arab world. If, before World War I, Arab poets only praised the commanders of the past who defeated the Crusaders, then afterwards the theme of the Crusades was also used to liken the European colonialists to the “medieval Franks”. The authors of the poems containing images from the era of the Crusades were, among others, the participants of the Arab Uprising of 1936–1939 and the Arab-Israeli War of 1947–1949, who set their goal with the help of poetry to mobilize the masses for the struggle.

This paper explores the influence of the Iliad text which composed during VIII century B.C on Arabic Literature by focusing on four main points, first: how the Arab poets knew the text of the Iliad and how they tried to borrow lines from it, especially during Abbasid era, secondly: what is the relationship between Iliad and the Arab folk biography, and also the relationship between Oral narration and improvisation on both literatures. Thirdly: the influence of the Iliad on the Concept of Arabic tournament appeared in Antara's character who mixed between love and courage in his poems. Finally: the influence of the Iliad on modern Arabic literature, by discussing the different evidence that modern poets took from the Iliad once by using opening dictions, expressions, myths, characters and so on.

Abstract:
Many female Arab writers have chosen poetry as the most efficient and esthetically most gratifying medium for expressing the discourse of liberation and influence that they are leading. The present paper discusses the new poetic devices adopted by various women poets, from the use of shocking titles to the creation of unusual devices for communication between reader and poem. In this study, we focus on three poems by three women poets and compare the role that verbal esthetics play in promoting the concept of liberation and influence in them. The first poem is ‘Taḥaddin’ (Challenge) by the Algerian poet Aḥlām Mustaghāminī (b. 1942). In it, language appears as an instrument for a discourse of liberation in face of great challenges: politics, society, the writer herself. The poet uses such traditional devices as harmonizing intertexuality and functional rhyme to construct her vision. The Iraqi poet Wafā Abd al-Razzāq (b. 1952) in her ‘Waqfāt’ (Pauses) takes symbols out of their usual context and deprives them of their evocative power in the reader’s mind, enabling her to use them to create images of her own vision of women composers of poetry. Maysūn Ṣaqr (b. 1958) of the United Arab Emirates expresses redemption through the act of writing by using meta-linguistic esthetic constructions such as écart, contrasting intertextuality and enjambement that shatter the meaning. All three poems use devices that are similar to those used by male Arab poets in modern times, the poetesses have succeeded in giving these devices a feminine coat unique to them. The difference lies in the mode of their use: 1) clearly hearing the feminine first person, 2) allusions to children’s voices, masks and stories, and 3) biographical tales whose protagonists are women, all of which are rarely to be found in the writings of male poets.

The city as a physical entity engages an outstanding position in world literature. Some writers show its admirable and gorgeous sides. The majority of writers, however, see the city as the place of hard times, difficult life and endless commitments. The four poets chosen in this study (T.S.Eliot, Frederico Lorca, Abdul Wahab Al Bayati and Ahmad Abdul Mu'ti Hijazi ) belong to the second category.These four modernist poets have highlighted its negative psychological and mental impacts on the its dwellers and the ecosystem as a whole. The purpose of the study centers on highlighting the negative moral, psychological and emotional impacts the city leaves on creative writers, particularly poets. Indeed they always find a sharp contrast between their hunches and imaginings on the one hand and the depressing reality of the city's mode of living on the other. As regards the methodology used throughout the study, it foregrounds the thematic aspects of the poems selected with a particular reference to the representations of the city and its dull world. A close reading of these poems and the biographical information will be the guiding line. Some of the parallels and differences between the poets in question are included. The main findings and conclusions of the study can be summarized in the following points. The city is the center of civilization and emblem of national pride of all countries. However, it has many disadvantages such as the dwellers' keen sense of spiritual loss, alienation and displacement, especially among hypersensitive people like poets. Many sociologists, psychologists and philosophers have investigated this issue of the city's frustrating life. The poets' contribution to this topic can be considered as a fresh version that readers look forward to and are enthusiastic about.

Abstract:
This paper aims to elucidate Thaha Husain's thoughts on the use of pre-Islamic poetry in the exegesis of the Quran. Husain was a contemporary Islamic thinker who emphasized the importance of Islamic reasoning in the effort to reconstruct a comprehensive understanding of the Quranic text. The focus of the study primarily addresses the authenticity of pre-Islamic poetry, its urgency in interpreting the Quran, and how the Quran views pre-Islamic Arab society. Husain perceives that Quranic teachings align with rational thought. He endeavors to reconstruct Islamic thought through hermeneutical and critical-historical approaches, particularly through literary and historical lenses. This research indicates that much of the pre-Islamic poetry was not composed during the pre-Islamic era by pre-Islamic Arab poets but by imitators during the Abbasid Dynasty for various purposes: political, religious, storytelling, and hadith narrators. According to Thaha Husain, many pre-Islamic poems do not resonate with pre-Islamic Arabs or objectively depict pre-Islamic Arab society. Husain employs Western scientific concepts such as semiology, philology, and Cartesian deconstruction as analytical tools in examining the Quran. It is not surprising that Husain's skepticism in evaluating pre-Islamic Arab literature has stirred controversy in Egypt.

This article demonstrates how the self—reference to personal stories—infiltrates some, if not most, of the poems by two renowned modernist poets and literary critics: the American/Englishman T. S. Eliot and the Syrian/Lebanese ʿAlī Aḥmad Saʿīd, popularly known as Adūnīs or Adonis. The article compares the two poets’ depictions of the personal and the impersonal in poetry, and it reaffirms the great influence that Eliot’s poetry has on Adūnīs and other Arab modernist poets. While Eliot’s criticism discourages any biographical reading of his poetry, Adūnīs holds a different view by openly acknowledging the inclusion or existence of the personal in his poetry. Adūnīs’ poetry, in particular, stresses the link between texts and historical figures in the realm of literature.

Ahmad Shawqi became a member of the Senate in 1924 and was named the ‘Prince of Poets’ in 1927. This was the year that the second edition of his poetry collection, Al-Shawqiyyat, was published. The first edition was published in 1898, and on the occasion of the issuance of the second edition, a number of ceremonies honouring the poet were held in his behalf. This pledge of allegiance constituted a national event par excellence. The ceremony was attended by King Fu'ad, Prime Minister Sa'ad Zaghloul, and a large group of Arab visitors. Bahrain participated by sending a small golden palm tree, which was donated by its emir to the Prince of Poets. The ‘Princedom of Arab Poetry’, began with the pledge of allegiance to Ahmad Shawqi, during a special ceremony on 29 April 1927 in the presence of a group of Arab poets. This group was led by Hafeth Ibrahim, Shawqi’s competitor, to confirm that Shawqi was undoubtedly the highest poet among his peers at the time, and he has remained distinguished in the Arab consciousness to the present day, despite the rise of other good poets and many poetic movements.

This research discusses the classification of Arabic poem (shi‘r) of the pre-Islamic period (Jahilīyah) in the book of al-Shi‘r wa-al-Shu‘arā’ by Abū Muḥammad ‘Abdullāh ibn Muslim ibn Qutaybah. In this research, we review in simple terms the classification of poems based on the quality of lafaẓ and meaning, the quality of lafaẓ, the quality of meaning, and the quality of limited lafaẓ and meaning a literary work, especially in the poem (shi‘r) as described in the book of al-Shi‘r wa-al-Shu‘arā’. Through the poem, the Arabic poet of Jahilī expresses his feelings through the poem he creates. The theme raised in the poem is the reality or quotes that are very familiar with the life of the Arab community at that time. One of the most influential Arabic poets of Jahilī is Imru’ al-Qays. In his poetry, Imru’ al-Qays describes his feelings, both regarding love, greed, sadness, spree, and so on relating to the conditions of the Arab environment. Likewise with other poets took the theme of poetry that was inseparable from the various Arab cultures.

In this article, the researcher discusses the comparison between two renowned poets in the modern Arab literary world, Ahmad Shawqi and Khalilullah Khalili. The researcher provides an overview of Ahmad Shawqi's life translation, literary writings, the key characteristics of his poetry, and its influence in the world of poetry. Additionally, the article delves into the life of the national Afghan poet, Khalilullah Khalili, his writings, the characteristics and purposes of his poetry, while highlighting the similarities between the two poets' personalities. The article explores the central themes around which the poets' works revolve, particularly their sentiments towards the Prophet Muhammad and how they connect this religious occasion to the realities of life. The researcher identifies over ten similarities between the poems of the two poets and also highlights clear differences that exclude the possibility of mutual influence or being influenced, despite their contemporaneity. Finally, the researcher summarizes the most significant findings and comparisons between the two poets in twelve points, evaluating the way they approached their praises of the Prophet in terms of content, emotion, language, and style, while offering some assessments.

Twentieth-century Arab poets undertook a search for alternative means of poetic expression that went beyond experimentation at the stylistic and formal level. The result was a violent rebellion against the traditional qa??da form in the mid-1940s, an urgent striving for freedom and breaking free from accepted forms. One of the rebellion’s manifestations consisted of a renewed interest in folklore, especially folksongs, as a source of inspiration. Early on, folksongs became a fundamental pillar of Arab Modernism; most of the poets of the first half of the twentieth century were, in fact, affected to differing degrees by the folksong style. Ultimately the present study shows that folk literature in general, and folksongs in particular, are a critical source of inspiration for Arab poets, one which has enabled them to forge a link between their art and their public.

From this point of view, all that was contained in the speech of the Arabs before Islam, urging people to believe in God and return to Him, encouraged the creation of virtuous morals and human values, whether this speech was prose or poetry, because it is considered one of the religious features in general and Islamic in particular, and therefore I thought to highlight The light on some of these values and principles in the poetry of the Arabs before Islam, and that was the main reason for writing this research. This research was divided into an introduction and two sections. As for the introduction, I introduced the definition of the word “features” and clarified its meanings and derivation, and then divided what remained into two main sections based on two important aspects, the doctrinal side, from the command to worship God Almighty alone and belief in death and resurrection after death, and urging righteousness and benevolence and other matters that are counted on the side dogmatic. As for the second topic, I devoted it to other moral values, such as forbearance, patience, honesty, chastity, generosity, and other moral values and lofty principles, and other things that the Arabs used to do in word and deed.

This study will examine the translation products of Arabic literary works that existed in the period of the Umawiyyah. This research generally uses two approaches, namely the literature approach and the translation science approach. Based on the translation approach, this study will measure the grammatical equivalence between Arabic and Bahasa Indonesia in the literary works of Arab poets during the Daulah Umawiyyah period. Then, this study will examine the application of translation techniques and methods in the literary works of the Arab poets of the Umawiyyah period. As for the approach to Literature, this research will investigate the product of the translation of literary works of Arab poets in the period of the Daulah Umawiyyah structurally. The diversity in Arabic Indonesian translation can be found in some aspects such as: (1) number, (2) gender, (3) person, (4) tense and aspect, and (5) voice. In addition, the application of translation techniques has a significant impact on the quality of Arabic poetry translation.

The arrival of Jews in Palestine since 1882 changed the order of life of the Palestinian people. Jews began to buy land from Palestinians with the aim of mastering all Palestinian land in the future. This mastery is carried out to realize the ideals of establishing a Jews country that has been proclaimed by The World Zionist Organization. The achievement of control of Palestinian land became apparent when the Ottoman Government in Palestine was defeated and turned into British hands. In 1917, Britain gave way to the Zionist Organization by signing the Balfour Declaration which gave permission to them to make Palestine a homeland. In three decades, the Zionist Organization succeeded in annexing Palestine and making it a Jewish state called Israel. The establishment of the state of Israel became a tragedy to the Palestinians. Arab poets have resisted since the signing of the Balfour Declaration until the tragedy of Israel's annexation of Palestine with their poems. Literary works, in the theory of adab almuqawamah, were written to arouse the spirit of resistance of a nation against colonialism. Arab poets through their poems warn of the adverse consequences of the Balfour Declaration for Palestine. Their poetry is also to arouse the fighting spirit of the Palestinian people against Israel.

Among the contemporary Arab poets who followed this approach is Sayyid Haider al-Hilly, the contemporary Iraqi poet who is best known as the “Na'i al-Taf”. His poems concentrated on addressing Imam Mahdi like waiting for the Imam Mahdi's reappearance, mobilization, and complaining for him (PBUH) about the problems of the Muslims and especially the Shia. Shi'r al-'ammiyya is a poetry movement whose emergence in Egypt in the early 1950s coincided with the heyday of Nasser's revolution, when the Palestine question was a national concern. With numerous practitioners today, the movement has yielded a large corpus of colloquial poetry that has become a significant part of Egypt's cultural landscape.This article presents a historical survey of shi'r al-'ammiyya's best known poets—Fu'ad Haddad, Salah Jahin, and 'Abd al-Rahman al-Abnudi—and their poems on Palestine. Among the essay's aims is to dispel the common misconception that the use of colloquial Egyptian ('ammiyya) denotes parochial rather than pan-Arab concerns, with the standard (fusha) Arabic seen as a signifier of pan-Arab identity.

Created in the 7th century, Uzrit love poetry or desert love poetry is inspired by love. It is named after the tribe to which poet Džemil (Ğamīl), one of the most famous love poets, belonged. In these poems, a lover spends his whole life in longing and absence, yearning for his beloved one. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, European romanticists sang and composed songs following, among others, Uzrit poets. Thus, Heinrich Heine sang the song Der Azra, writing down the Arab tradition of the Banu ʻUzra (Banū ʻUḏra) tribe that "for love lose their heads and die when they kiss". Hajne also influenced romanticists, such as Bašagić and Kostić. We can assume that Bašagić was directly influenced by the Arab love poetry of the desert because he knew the Arabic language, studied at university, and translated numerous poems from the Arabic language. However, when it comes to Kostić, the influence was indirect. A factor that should not be excluded from the research on the influence of Uzrit love, as a phenomenon, on romanticism, but also on the entire literature of the Balkan peoples, is folk poetry, which is filled with motifs from the East, and especially the Uzrit understanding of love. We witness the unavoidable influence of numerous folk songs, which later grew into songs sung with musical instruments, sevdalinkas, which the poets of the Balkans, regardless of national-confessional affiliation were exposed to. That folk lyric sang about exactly what Uzrit poetry sang about and it often drew its motifs from the Uzrit understanding of love. Arab-Americans are an essential part of the multi-ethnic scene in the United States of America. They are increasingly making their voices louder. However, the process of Americanization has shaped Arab-American experience and literature both directly and indirectly. The early immigrants faced the pressures of assimilation into the American society, while also trying to preserve their Arab identity in the American-born generation. Cultural issues that are related to the immigrants’ experience, like biculturalism, bilingualism and dualism, are vitally depicted in Arab-American poetry. The American-born poets of Arab descent find in poetry a way through which they could express the dilemma of the Arab diaspora. Sam Hamod is one of the contemporary Lebanese-American literary figures whose works reflect the cultural conflicts from which the immigrants and their descendants suffer. Many of his poems deal with the concept of the “Third Space,” presented by the post-colonial theorist Homi K. Bhabha. It is a hybrid space in which the hyphenated individuals are stuck. In the multicultural and multiracial environment of the United States, the immigrants’ offspring occupy this in-between position where diverse cultures meet and clash in an endless process of identity splitting.

A poet often uses the style of language in composing poetry in order to achieve the desired beauty. Likewise with one of the famous Arab poets in the modern era, namely Nizar Qabbani. He often uses language styles, one of which is the figurative language style, to compose verses in his poems. One of his works which contains a lot of this style of figurative language is his poem entitled "Mansyūrātun Fidāiyyatun ā Al Judrāni Isrāīl". This study aims to analyze the style of figurative language used in the poem. In this study, researchers used stylistic analysis, to be able to find out the types of figurative language used by poets. The results of this study indicate that poets use several kinds of figurative language styles, namely equation or simile (tasybīh), metaphor or isti’ārah, antonomasia or kināyah, pars pro toto (majāz mursal juz’iyyah), irony and cynicism. The most figurative style of speech used by poets is the style of equality or simile (tasybīh), irony and cynicism. This is because the poem is a criticism and representation of expressions of bitterness, anger, and disappointment of the Palestinian people both towards Israel, America, and other world communities.

Abu Tammam is considered a great Arab poet of his time. Abu Tammam created various poems from different topics such as spinning, praise, satire, and some of his poems include nature poetry about spring. On the other hand, Matsuo Basho was one of the most famous Japanese poets, but the greatest in writing haiku, and of most of his poetry about nature and its phenomena. Based on this, the researchers view that they should to be studied and analyzed the issue, and then compare the two poems of both poets. The study aims to show their creativity in formulating the two poems, and to reveal the aspects of agreements and disagreement between their vision, using the descriptive analytical method before resorting to the American School approach in comparative study, where the study attempts to highlight on the similiarites and differences between the two studied poems. The study found that both poems are full of descriptive styles by the presence of plants and rain. However, the use of descriptive styles in the two poems differs from one poet to another. Where Matsuo Basho deals in his poetry with styles that refer to the signs of nature from the names of animals such as birdds, sparrows, butterflies, mice and bats, and these nouns were not found in Abu Tamam’s poem. While the names of the cosmic such as the sun, the moon and the earth combined more for description or similes and metaphor in Abu Tamam poem. These differences are due to the difference in culture, language, and geographical condition between the two studied literatures: Arabs and Japan.

This comparative study aims to investigate the similarities and differences between the two Arab poets, Badr Shaker Al-Sayyab and Salah Abd al-Sabur from one hand and T. S. Eliot from the other. The study attempts to investigate the attitudes of those poets towards impersonality. It shows how impersonality from the perspective of Abd al-Sabur is not like Eliot’s, who emphasizes that impersonality is critical to poetry while Abd al-Sabur argues that personality and impersonality together form a perfect work. Unlike them, Al-Sayyab does not have critical comments on the terms of personality and impersonality. The study also aims to investigate the resemblance between those poets, regarding their attitudes towards traditional heritage. It also attempts to investigate intertextuality between their texts. The analysis is comparatively based on some selected poems composed by the three above-mentioned poets. The study concludes that Al-Sayyab, Abd al-Sabur and Eliot hold similar views on traditional heritageas they emphasize the necessity of a positive relation between modern and traditional heritage. In regards to impersonality in poetry, Eliot contradicts himself because he could not escape being impersonal in his poetry. On the other hand, Abd al-Sabur’s and Al-Sayyab’s poems bear stamps of personality and impersonality. The study also concludes that intertexulaity between Al-Sayyab and Abd al-Sabur, from one hand and T. S. Eliot from the other, is due to acculturation rather than influence and eurocentrism.

In addition to this, the most important and distinctive factors are the rivalry between Mashreq “The Eastern Part of the Arab World, Countries Bounded between the Mediterranean Sea and Iran” and Andalus, the rivalry that characterized the Arab Muslim identity as an Andalusian literary identity derived from the alternative home. The Orient, but encouraged the rulers of Andalusia - most of them poets - this competition to be positive integrative not only because the designated one is the language of the Koran and common broad religious and national at the same time. It is not clear from this point of view that this research is influenced by the influence of the two oriental and the Andalusian in the creative work of Andalusia. <p class="ABSTRACT">The transition period of the Umayyad dynasty to the Abbasid dynasty occurred in a span of 100 years. There are fifteen great poets whose poetry represents the study of this research. The results of this study indicate that there are seven types of poetry found in the transition period, namely madh, hija, naqaidh, zuhud, gazal, khamriyyat, and fakhr. These seven poems have different characteristics to fulfill different functions. Among them are diction which uses connotative words, strong imagination, uses a lot of simile/tasybih, cynicism, sarcasm, personification, and metaphor/istia'rah.</p>

This study aims to see the world view of the two poets towards the Arab League on the conflict between Palestine and Israel, and how the role of the Arab League in the conflict between Palestine and Israel. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative approach, with the type of library research. There are two types of data sources in this study, namely primary and secondary sources. The primary data sources were taken from the poem entitled "Ana Yusuf Ya Abi" by Mahmud Darwish quoted from Diwan"Al-A'mal Al-Ulaa 3", and "Al-Hub Wa Al-Bitrul" by Nizar Qabbani taken from Diwan Nizar Qabbani. The results of this study are the world view of the authors of these two poems as a form of expression of their disappointment, anxiety and restlessness towards the conflicts that occur in the Middle East in general, Palestine and Israel in particular. They see what is happening with Palestine as if they are not getting any meaningful help from the Arab League and other countries.

The nexus between poetry, insanity, and inspiration is peculiar and can be traced back to earlier centuries. There are many examples in Greek and Arab literature where poetry is believed to have connections with divinity, possession, or even madness. The paper will try to show what Greeks and Arabs thought about the origin and the creation of poetry. It will attempt to show how early mythology and legends of both assign a supernatural or abnormal source to poetry. References from these two cultures will show the similarity in some theories like that of muses and supernatural beings, helping the poet achieve his goal. In order to show the similarity, many Greek and Arab philosophers/poets shall be referred to in the discussion. The methodology used shall be descriptive and analytical in nature.

Abstract: Arabic literature, especially poetry, is well-known in the Malay World. Despite not being fluent in Arabic, the emergence of Arabic poetry contributes to enhancing Islamic teaching. With the existence of Arabic poetry in the Malay world, students show interest in studying it. They pursue their studies in Arab countries until they become poets and masters of Arabic poetry among Malay Islamic scholars. This research was carried out qualitatively through interviews, document references, book consultations, and visits to several Muslim cemeteries in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. The objective of this research is to explain the function of Arabic poetry in the field of Islamic education in the Malay world. According to the study's findings, using Arabic poetry in teaching and learning can help develop knowledge in Islamic studies in both the past and present generations. <p>With particular reference to the Saudi poet Abdus-Salam Hashem Hafeth, this study tries to shed light on some literary characteristics of modern Saudi Arabic poetry. It specifically focuses on the concept of homeland as an illustration of the status of modern Saudi Arabic poetry. One may argue that Arabic poetry is in a good place right now among Arab authors, critics, and poets. By using the poet's magnificent city as a representation of his affection for his big country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the researcher attempts to demonstrate the poet's intelligence by showing his gorgeous city as a symbol of his love.</p><p>An introduction starts the study, then, it analyzes the subtitle Arabic Poetry: The Tongue of the Arabs. Afterward, a brief analysis of Glimpse at Eternal Saudi Poetry and the Conception of Home in Saudi Poetry. The study's primary section employs a critical-analytical method to evaluate Abdus-Salam Hafeth's poem Nostalgia, Oh My Home. The examination of the poem concentrates on the idea of home as its central theme and covers verse lines nine through eleven. Finally, the research comes to a brief conclusion with some remarks.</p>

The Arab nation before the teachings brought by the Prophet Muhammad SAW became a nation known as the Jahiliyyah nation, a bad nation and they did many things, such as gambling, killing girls on a spree and so on. However, there has also been economic progress due to its precise geographical location which has become a trade route from city to city. The Arab nation has 2 groups, namely Qathaniyun and Adnaniyun. There are also characteristics of the political system that existed during the Jahiliyah era, such as tribal division, oligarchic leadership, and polytheism. At that time they already had quite a lot of beliefs, such as Judaism, Christianity, the al Hunafa' group, the Mulhad group, and magi beliefs. Their culture is also very diverse, but from some of these cultures there is one thing that is more inclined, namely poetry, there they glorify poets so much that they often hold competitions for several poets and hold orgies afterward. Here the methodology I use is qualitative methodology, a method that I took from several articles that I researched and explained in my writing. And as a result, the Arabian Peninsula became a popular nation and could be said to provide benefits to better understand the situation of Arabia in the pre-Islamic era.

Human life has always been connected to the concept of love; it has recurred in the works of poets and writers creating a tremendous attraction. The manifestation of love has been influenced by cultural, literary, and social events of humankind through different times and places. Nagi and Jaff are among the most important Arab and Kurdish sonnet writing poets of the contemporary period. Unfortunately, Jaff is less known to the world due to the lack of research by authors and scholars in this regard; however, Jaff is one of the most prominent Kurdish poets. Nagi and Jaff were highly determined in writing sonnets; therefore, it is appropriate to consider them as pioneers of sonnet form particularly romantic sonnets. Nagi views his beloved differently and has a pure innocent love; he expresses a life full of love and adoration along with sorrow and grief. "All expressions of nature and objects are reflected in the poet's sorrow and grief, no wine will ever soothe this sorrow even the attainment of the beloved" Ehsan Abbas explains. However, Jaff reflects on the physical and material aspects of love and his beloved. Jaff's material and formal stance is rooted in his great love for the beloved. Mostly, Kurdish poets are influenced by poets and writers of other nations. The relationship between material love and pure love is different in the viewpoint of these two poets. Nagi believes that material or formal love is the beginning of pure divine love, provided that this love is not associated with lust; yet such viewpoint is not strong in Taher Beg Jaff's work probably due to his living condition which was aristocratic and carefree to some extent. Perhaps the impact of this factor can be observed in Jaff's formal and material love

Over the ages, and in all nations, war has been a significant topic of analysis. The successive outbreak of wars throughout history make the subject of war part of human life. There is no good war, as well as there is no winner; every side at war has something to lose, and this is a universal truth everywhere. War is war; it is the same ugly war everywhere and every time. However, what makes war different is the pen of the writers and the language that is used to describe this serious subject. Each writer or poet presents war differently according to his or her views, attitudes, or experiences. This study aims to make a comparison between two poets who wrote about war. The Arab poet Abdul Razzaq Abdul Wahid (1930-2015) and the English poet Wilfred Owen (1893-1918). This comparative study explores the similarities and differences between these two poets and their ways of dealing with the subject of war. The study will discuss two poems; "Dulce et Decorum Est" from Owen and "You Terrified the Death" ((روعتم الموت by Abdul Wahid. The paper focuses on using language for both poets and with reference to some theories about structure, content, form, and technique of literary language and poetics.
