Full textArabic language is morphologically poorer in determiners than French. This could pose some translation problems. The objective of this work is thus to help translators and those who are involved in teaching/learning translation to overcome these difficulties. Based on a corpus made of a French text and its translation into Arabic, this contrastive study compares the determination systems of French and Arabic. It studies French determiners and their equivalents in Arabic, comments them and formulates generalities. In conclusion, it emphasizes the importance of complete and incomplete actualization in the translation of the French article. It plays a key role in translating noun phrase (article + noun). If the article is definite for instance, that does not necessarily mean that we should translate in Arabic by a definite noun. This research presents also a number of equivalents in Arabic of French indefinite determiners. Finally, it opens many perspectives for future research: actualization, definites, indefinites and other

It tries to establish a link between the intuitive practice of translation and the linguistic training acquired. Conclusions on the mental attitude of "speaking subjects" towards reality, recurrences in the translation activity and towards the passage from one language to another rise from this exploration. Full textThe aim of our research is to get to a theorical approach, trying to be scientific, about the translation of current events texts in the written press. Such an approach is carried out by a complicated analyse process of translation in order to show all the operation and choices which the translator uses consciously and unconsciously, also to show some useful principals for the future translators providing them the materia prima to accomplish their task very well. In this respect, we try to raise some problems and to examine the principal currents of thought in translation which allow to trace the evolution of such a thought. When the rules of thought concerning the translation in the twentieth century will be examined, we try than to propose a model which describes the translator processes when he translates an article written in a language A to another article written in a language B. That could allow us also to indicate some problems that we can find in practice such as the problems of lexicons, of syntactic structure, of cliches and stereotypes

Full textThis study is part of a large research interest to the time reference in language from a comparative point of vue. It examines the problems encountered in translating the french “imparfait” tense into arabic and english. This requires a theorical background as well as an analysis of the main uses of this tense in french. Within this perspective, we propose a description based not only on its temporal, aspectuel and modal meanings, but also on some of the discours parametres such as cohesion. By analyzing the different equivalents of the imparfait, we are able to show that the translation of the french “imparfait” tense into english and arabic is possible, but it doesn’t always afford equivalents that express the basic, complex meaning of this tense

Full textThis work aims at studying light verb colocations. A phenomenon that was introduced by Z. Harris (1964) and described by several researchers following the lab work of automatic documentary and linguistics directed by M. Gross. One of the main goals of this work is to know how these phenomena are built and how to model them and anticipate them. It will cover the characteristics differentiating this phenomenon from the other constructions like idioms, by leaning on its semantic load considered wrongly as meaningless. This research is done with the aim of creating a bilingual dictionary of light verbs (Arabic - French) (French - Arabic). Therefore, this research will also focus on the translation of these Arabic verbs in order to try to create a new type of dictionary article specially designed for them.To create this dictionary article, we will try to demonstrate the possibility of classifying the predicative nouns and their following light verbs into categories. Predicative nouns will be divided into lexical categories generated by a binary ontology created with four notions and distinguishing eleven lexical categories. The light verbs will be divided into semantic categories of light verbs "scenarios" following which they are classified and can be anticipated. These scenarios will meet the two criteria of limiting the number of scenarios and entireness/exhaustiveness of the application

In the mean time, it also has to be adaptable to the requirements of the target language, the socioprofessional domain and the target culture. We believe that it’s very important today to have a large vision of the re-expression in specialized translation. A vision that integrates different dimensions: linguistic, cognitive, emotional and cultural. Our research comes to deepen the reflection on reexpressive phase regarding written translation especially in the economic domain : by showing the links between this phase (the attainment of the process of translation) and the other phases of translation: comprehension and ‘’deverbalization’’. By determining the different parameters that direct this phase: “The knowledge domain”, “The method adopted”, “The languages-cultures relationship”, “The translator’s contribution” and “Taking into consideration the recipient

Full textOur work is a didactic, traductologic, and linguistic study. This work aims to find a solution for the French-Arabic / Arabic-French translation teaching in French as Foreign Language courses in Iraqi universities. The lack of noteworthy advances in translation teaching and the implementation of didactic techniques is the result of an imbalance between the program of French departments and the linguistic and didactic skills of the teacher. The interiorization of the target language grammar is one of the principal aims in language didactics. When a translation teacher resorts to an explicit grammar point, does this promote or hinder the interiorization of the grammar? It is necessary that the language and translation teachers pre-service training contains a solid introduction to two metalinguistic models.Despite the increasing number of studies on translation teaching, there is, to our knowledge, no study, especially in Iraq, on didactics of French-Arabic translation to the foreign language learners which could let them acquire translation skills. This work is important for the Iraqi academic system because there was no in-depth study on this matter before. It is necessary for the creation of French- Arabic translation departments in Iraqi universities. Our initiative includes the introduction of the new translation methods in Iraq as the DMA (Defining Matrix Analysis). This work particularly tackles the linguistic difficulties in translation using translations of Iraqi learners at the universities of Baghdad and Al-Mustansiriyah. With this in mind, we conducted a survey among teachers of French and students of these universities. The purpose of this work is a reflection which aims to: Entrain the teacher to make linguistic analysis which will help them to become aware of the functioning of their language (in this case Arabic) and the differences of functioning between their language and the source language or the target language (in this case French). This analysis must focus on the functioning of the language and not on the learning or the comparison of the metalanguage or of a linguistic or grammatical theory, even if the tutor himself must have a consistent knowledge of linguistic theories.Make teachers capable of discovering the contradictory, often violent, debates that the traductologie can supply them with the tools that allow them to adopt a critical attitude within these debates. Instruct teachers to build a translation method with a relatively precise protocol that defines the different steps. Teach them to justify the method they have chosen

Full textThe translation movement of literature in egypte has began at the end of the nineteenth century and has blossomed at the beginning of the twentieth century. The translators' effortq were first concentrated on novel and theatre. The translation of short story ant poetry has only begun around 1920. The consideration of bibliography reveals that the romantic trend is the most dominant and the favorite french authors are moliere for theatre, dumas (father) for novel, maupassant fort short story, hugo , lamartine and musset for poetry. The analysis of the translated texts is of paramount importance : the freely translated texts help us to understand the history of taste; texts that have been adapted to arabic or egyptian languages appeat as an attempt in learning new styles ; the accurately translated texts lead to a better knowledge of french authors. Translation from french not only highlights the intermediate language but also brings out much debated points. The translation contributes to the development of the arabic language, to the creation of new styles (theatre, novel and story short story) and to the renewal of former ones (arabic, fable and poetry)

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to figure out both the reasons as well the ways of producing new Arabic words, or rather neologisms, as a result of French-Arabic translation. According to the interpretive concept of translation, the amount of neologisms resulted by translation is supposed to be limited. Especially when it comes to general translation, the predicted chance of producing such neologisms is extremely low. Nevertheless, going over few general contemporary Arabic texts translated from French shows how hard it is to ignore these newly produced neologisms Thus, this research discusses the reasons of the existence of such a phenomenon called Neologism in texts translated into contemporary Arabic. Furthermore, it analyzes the different ways of forming those neologisms in Arabic and how the source language (French language) influences this forming. The mother tongue of students possesses an intimate relation with the teaching-learning processus of languages and translation, because it is the filter through which this processus is effectuated, and it is, the reason of many errors. This thesis studies linguistics and cultural errors, and translation errors, as the contact between two languages in translation causes interferences, especially in the text reformulation of the target language. We have approached, professional and pedagogic translations, and their difference of finality ; as well as the different uses of translation in teaching methods. We have proposed, linguistics and cultural exercices, that would be useful for the students in translation domain, because their learning and their experience levels are very different from those of professional translators

Full textThis research aims at reflecting upon the use of one's mother tongue in the learning process of a foreign language, by rehabilitating the one activity which allows a systematic use of mother tongue, translation. However, it's important not to mix up the believes that we entertain in this thesis with assumptions that were those of the traditional methodology of language teaching. We're proposing here a "new" translation, a creative one, a translation as a (re)-creation. . . No more word for word rendering, no more hindering or useless exercices. Only a spontaneous expression of the meaning. The use of bilingual dictionaries is no more enough : a wide panel of documents contributes to the understanding and to the writing processes. .

Full textThe result of our research is a proposal for a controlled French to Arabic machine translation model, applied to security critical domains. This cross-disciplinary research study covers controlled languages and French to Arabic machine translation, two intimately related concepts. In a situation of crisis where communication must play its full role, and in the context of increasing globalisation where many languages coexist, our research findings show that the combination of these two concepts is sorely needed. No one can deny today the predominant role played by security in people’s daily life and the significant challenges it presents in modern societies. These more and more complex and interconnected societies present evident vulnerabilities that force them to rethink their means of protection and in particular that of their communication systems. Language communication with computerised systems is one of the most widely used forms of communication for the transfer of knowledge required in carrying out and completing tasks and in the good conduct of various activities. However, and contrary to an entrenched idea that tends to associate the risk of poor communication only with oral transmission, the use of written language can also be subject to risk. Indeed, a protocol or an alert which is badly formulated can provoke serious accidents due to misunderstanding, in particular during a crisis and under stress. It is in this context that our research has been undertaken. Our thesis proposes an innovative approach in the fields of controlled language and machine translation in which, relying on a microsystemic analysis of the language and a study of the corpus in intension, precise standards are defined for writing and translating protocols and security alerts written in French automatically into Arabic. Indeed, new concepts are introduced by means of several normative methods involved not only in the controlling process but also in the machine translation process. The French to Arabic machine translation system TACCT (Traduction Automatique Contrôlée Centre Tesnière) developed during our research is a rule-based system based on an isomorphic syntactic and semantic model stemming from intra- and interlanguage analysis between French and Arabic. It introduces new concepts including controlled mirror macrostructures, where the syntax and semantics of the source and target languages are represented at the same level

Full textThe semiotics' dimensions of translation and its problems have become the centre of interest of the researchers and experts since the fifty last years. This thesis tries to benefit from progress report of the schools and tendencies which govern the act of translation. The relationship between the theory and the practice makes it possible to understand the operation of the theory in practice, from which is the following postulate can be obtained: it is impossible to make the practice apart from the theory. It is necessary for that to strip a long essay and to hold some examples which will allow us to have an interesting idea about the transmission of the original meaning of Naguib Mahfouz's novel entitled "Comes the night". Our work is composed of four parts. In the first part which is entitled "Theories of the translation", we will approach three theories which deal with the problems of translation. The second part, "the new fields of the translated communication", approaches the usage of the oral and written translation the same time. In the third part, an analytical study will be dedicated in the passing of the theory to the practice. We will discuss the fourth and last part to the restrictions and limits of the translation

Full textThis research is based on cinema dialogs. It offers a description of aspects of verbal interactions currently found in everyday life situations through a cinematograph corpus (recent French comedies : Amélie Poulain, Quatre étoiles, la Doublure, Ah ! si j’étais riche, Moi, César…). The results of this essentially descriptive study should be of interest for: [a] relations between the description of verbal interactions and the teaching/learning of French and Arabic as foreign or second languages, and [b] issues related to the translation of cinema subtitles, which are in fact the essential part of this study. The latter seeks to identify [a] in the context of the teaching/learning of foreign languages, interactions that help enrich the French B2 level (with reference to the Common European Reference Framework for Languages). The approach illustrates some pragmatic functions in the B2 level, and is based on the analysis of some speech acts (ritual and functional) including greetings, thanks, apologies, requests, offers and proposals. The different linguistic realisations of these acts propose an inventory aiming at enriching the Referential Framework for French and Arabic as foreign or second languages. Arabic is seen through the translation of subtitles. [b] With regards to translation issues, the analysis of the verbal interaction observed in the above mentioned cinema corpus (French dialogs transcribed by us and Arabic subtitles) bring forth some relations between translation and culture, in addition to problems which are specific to the constraints of audiovisual translation, with special reference to subtitling. Excerpts analysed in the dissertation are reproduced in the Annexes, with their translation, a retro-translation, and, when needed, explanatory notes, in order to offer a free reading of parts of our corpus

This thesis relates to the transfer of cultural elements in legal translation. The aim was to show the practical possibility of translation despite the cultural distance between two languages and cultures. Should it be stressed that within the framework of the current study, we tackled the question under an angle properly civilisationnel carried primarily about the cultural aspects which the Algerian family Code recovers, we limited ourselves to the cultures Algerian and French. This thesis focuses on the concept of equivalence which constitutes a central concept in any operation of translation

But if we observe well theses two parts, we realize that this partition does not allow to account for the characteristics the separate them. We have therefore proposed a new classification by considering the adjective as a category itself. Then we studied its different functions: restrictive adjectives, state complement and predictive adjectives. However, our main interest remains the predictive adjectives. We have proposed some properties of these adjectives. The second point concerns the semantic classification of predictive adjectives which is part of the objet class model, in line with Z. S. Harris’s transformational grammar. This method allows us to construct semantic classes of predictive adjectives based on syntactic criteria for automatic processing

Full textThrough a comparative study, based on a personal experience, of the Arabic translations of three novels by Lebanese-born francophone writer, Amin Maalouf, our research explores translation beyond the classical dichotomy between ethnocentrism and decentrement that a translation method divided into domesticating and foreignizing, source and target implies. This reflection considers the transplantation of a francophone literary work into the author's native culture in the framework of a translation project centred on repatriation. Thanks to its conciliatory purpose, repatriation enables the translator to understand hybridization which is a key feature of francophone literary prose in order to bring this prose back to the author's matrix tongue. It is doubled with a simultaneous migration conveying an individual style developped at the crossroads of adoptive French and native Arabic. By placing the translator face to face with the trial of the familiar, the repatriating strategy sheds light on the concepts of identity and alterity. This trial consists of bringing back cultural Sameness as well as stylistic Otherness. It also reconstructs for the translated text's receptor the ingredients of his/her own culture while conveying a francophone poetics based on the encounter of two linguistic and cultural worlds

Full textThis thesis is composed of three parts: nominal group anaphora, verbal group anaphora and predication anaphora. As it is too general, the concept of anaphora needed redefinition. So, i made a distinction between two types of anaphora: one of phase i which signals that when the enunciator refers to the previous context, the operation he makes is limited to the semantic programme of the items he takes back, and the other of phase 2 which signals that this semantic level is presupposed and that the grammatical structure is pre-constructed because co-accepted by the enunciator and the co-enunciator. This distinction was necessary to give a satisfactory explanation to the structuring and functioning of pronouns, this, do this and do so on the one hand (anaphora of phase 1) and the, that, it, do that, do it,-ing and do operator of syntactic liaison between subject and predicate on the other (anaphora of phase 2). This abstract mechanism of phases gave me tools to show the coherence of the architecture underlying the three languages studied, and to show that one language can shed lights on the functioning of another. I also compared my explanation to that of contemporary researchers to make explicit the new measures i brought. .

Full textOur work consists in studying the constraints that affect translator’s decisions in the phase of reformulation. Applied to the field of children’s literature, translation is viewed as an act of communication which is not only linguistic: it is also conditioned by extralinguistic elements that involve reciprocal influences between communication and local culture. The literature translated for this audience is presented as a sub-system part of the general literary host society. It is, therefore, subject to conditions and constraints of production and dissemination of literary system for young lectors. The analysis for the young lectors makes it possible to highlight the values of both culture and morality that every society seeks to instill in its young readers. Whoever wants to seize the methodological procedures and purposes of the translating process in this area is constrained by the nature of the subject, to consider a study of the dynamics of literature and translation for children in the host context. In the Arab world, factors such as parents, publishers, spatiocultural specificities, authors, translators and also illustrators play a major role in what is written for young audiences. From a standpoint of translation studies, these constraints are considered as "norms" that define the operational framework that govern any translation for young lectors. The concept of ’social norm’ as defined by Toury, is central to all communication, because it identifies the relationship between a society and its literary and translation process. During the translation process, these norms are converted into translational constraints that may be cultural, political or ideological in the sense that they govern the decision and the influence of the translator during the phase of reformulation. What are the observable elements that allow us to identify these constraints and how do they interact to each other and with the translation process in general and in particular with the reformulation? Above all, what is the translation approach that would maximize results in light of these constraints? These are the final questions to which this work attempts to provide some answers

We propose to define the conditions for a possible convergence between two approaches : -The Action-oriented approach recommended by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages for the teaching and learning of foreign languages and cultures. - The Discursive approach based on the Interpretative Theory of Translation which constitutes a basis for the pedagogy of translation

Full textStarting from the idea that the translator mostly works on words in sentences, and not on lexical units out of any discursive usage, and also from the fact that the bilingual dictionary is a tool of translation, we can wonder about the situation of contextualization in the French-Arabic dictionary. The present work, based on different approaches of analysis, does not only focus on the organizational, quantitative and qualitative levels of the lexicographic context in microstructure, but also deals with the linguistic functioning, the relation with the extralinguistic parameter, and its dynamics from the contrastive point of view

Full textIn this research, we tried to analyse the difficulties that face the translator of poetry and the solutions that could be found in order to satisfy the multiple needs of the poem. The output of the translation should be a literay version that possesses a capacity to communicate the whole aesthétic or didactic nature of the original. In order to achieve such a goal, the translator should study the work that he deals with in order to interpret it in a way that preserves the aesthetic message of the original. Rimbaud has been translated many times in Arabic without succeeding to reach the spirit of a the poet. We tried to put ourselves in an experience similar to that of the translator of Rimbaud through proposing a translation of one his poems includeed in his masterpiece, A Season in Hell, The Alchemy of the word, from which we have discussed the difficulties encountered and the possibilities offered by the target culture while translating the poetry of Rimbaud and its several particularities from French into Arabic

Full textThe present thesis subject aims to contribute to the study of translation in Egypt between 1798 and 1873 and its role in the reforms undertaken by intellectuals under the aegis of the reformist Wali's policy (Mohamed Ali Pasha), but also the al-Alsun school and its contribution to translation, lexical expansion and the acquisition of Nahḍa.Our subject is particularly important because it deals not only with the beginnings of linguistic and cultural relations between France and Egypt which contributed to the emergence of modern legal Arabic with the school of al-Alsun in Cairo in 1834, but also represent, for some unknown reasons, an uncharted territory for researchers. Particular attention has been given to the region of Mašriq al ‘arabī with a good reason, for the latter constitutes a hub where the bulk of translation activities took place, as opposed to other areas of the Arab world. As a matter of fact, while collecting material for this research project, no book dealing with this school has been found which, however, played a crucial role in the evolution of Arab society in general and that of Egypt in particular. This subject constitutes a novelty for the only thesis that has been found concerns Rifā‘atRāfi‘ aṭ-Ṭahṭāwī, his book, Taẖlīs̜ al-ibrīz fī talẖīs̜ Bārīz and his stay in Paris, which was defended 33 years ago in the University of Paris 3. However, as far as « translation » is concerned in the Arab world, the historical dimension brings to light such great skills as the translating the person into Arabic, or the Greek into Arabic in the Omeyyad era and Abbasside, but also translating in the contemporary sense of the word, which forms the subject of this research

Sadoudi, Hanane. "Traitement des expressions figées dans la traduction humaine. : Analyse de corpus bilingue français-arabe." Thesis, Paris 5, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012PA05H036.
Full textThis study is an approach to various problems raised bu the translations of frozen expressions. It is founded on the specific case of the french-arabic translation by analyzing a bilingual corpus composed of idioms in French (source language) and their Arabic translation (targuet language). Our work is organized in two parts ; in the first we study the notion of rigidification and the various structures that it covers, and olso the notion of translation with related concepts through 20th century linguistic and translational theories. In the second part we analyze our corpus : first to make sure it really represents frozen expressions, then to know the strategies adopted by the translator to translate idioms. The corpus is extracted from the articles appeared in the French edition of the le Monde diplomatique and their translations into Arabic in the same newspaper

Full textFixed expressions are a problematic entity at both levels: at notional-phraseological level and at translatological level. The purpose of this study, which focuses on French and its translation into Arabic, is to delimit this entity by attempting to delimit its boundaries and to attribute to its inherent defining characteristics. Thus, at first, we approach the question from two points of view, semantico-syntactical and cognitive while subjecting the basic axioms of our definitions to an in-depth examination in order to verify its relevance. Then, we will deal with set expressions from a translatological point of view, with the aim of developing a method of translating fixed expressions working on both semantic and stylistic levels. This method could serve as a support clarifying the crucial points to be taken into consideration in the translating operation and would take into account the disadvantages and defects that can be manifested therein

Full textThis thesis pertains to both linguistics and translation studies. Translating from one language to another presents semantic and syntactic similarities and differences between Arabic and French. The translation of verbs with attributive complement demands a very good understanding of the grammar and of the syntactic constructions of the phrases containing these verbs. Separate studies of Arabic and French show a syntactical pattern of their verbs with attributive complement. This thesis also analyzes the use of the extremely important verb, kāna, the most frequently used between the Arabic verbs with an attribute studied in the corpus. We analysed its uses in the Coran. A close comparison shows that the equivalents of " kāna + preposition " that Blachère gives in his translation do not match with those found in dictionaries. In fact, translating this verb only with the definitions found in dictionaries is impossible. A dictionary as a single source will never be sufficient in the realm of translation. As a temporal exponent or a state verb, kāna must be translated by using contextual clues including (negation marker, modality, prepositions, …). This analysis clearly indicates that both direct and indirect contexts of a verb play an essential role in its translation. The verb, kāna, with its examples from the Coran documents this principle

Full textThis thesis is devided into two parts. The first part deals with congruous connectives: and, moroever, furthermore, besides, in addition. The second part deals with incongruous connectives: but, though, although, however, still, yet, nonetheless, nevertheless, in spite of and despite. In each part, we have discussed the deep functioning of theses connectives, exploring their semantic, grammatical and discursive role. The exploration of theses roles helps us to detect the abstract mechanism underpinning the structuring of each connective, because the use of every connective on the surface chain is the result of an abstract work from the speaker. That's why we believe that terms such as addition and concession cannot shed lights on the functioning of these connectives. Intersentential connectives play a connective and cohesive role. Their place on the surface chain, their scope and their grammatical status confirm this cohesive role. The translation of these connectives into arabic and french has been examined. The aim of this contrastive study is to demonstrate that, in linguistic analysis, a language can shed lights on the functioning of another one
Younes, Waad. "La traduction des marqueurs non-verbaux du temps et de l'aspect en arabe et en français." Thesis, Lyon 2, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015LYO20114.
Full textWe study in our dissertation the non-verbal markers of the time and of the aspect in Arabic and French. We generally distinguish five broad notions (based on the whole on J.-P. Desclés’s theoretical frame): the temporal frames of references, the different aspects, the duration and the iteration, the location in relation to a time and the location in relation to a situation. In each of the five chapters, we study the role of non-verbal markers. The first chapter will be devoted to the temporal references, a necessary element to identify the temporality of a situation. It may be an event, a process or a state. It may also be telic or atelic, entered before or after its initial limit or its final limit (chapter 2). The situation may last for a certain time with a single occurrence or more. It can be located according to a moment or another situation. Finally, we have devoted three chapters to study the role of non-verbal markers in the expression of these different cases. The problem is to evaluate the role of non-verbal markers in the expression of the time and of the aspect, and in the lifting of ambiguity in the statement. In doing so, we compare the two languages, Arabic and French, with regards to their use of these markers in the expression of the time and of the aspect. Based on a corpus of four books and their translations, we have established an inventory of Arab markers and their French equivalents and evaluated their role in the expression of the time and of the aspect

Full textThis research focuses on the linguistic analysis of the French verb and its correspondents in Arabic, using a contrastive and comparative approach, to integrate them into the NooJ computer system for an application of machine translation. In the first part, we have presented the theoretical foundations on which we have based our study of the semantic-syntactic characteristics of the verb classes of motion and of communication and which are essentially the Theory of the Classes of Objects of Gaston Gross and the classification of the French verbs by JD & FD-C. According to these two theories already presented in this section, we will make a comparison between the predicates of the two classes with their correspondents in Arabic to which we have already given their linguistic characteristics in the third chapter of this part. In the second part, we have followed an analytical but at the same time comparative approach between the two verb systems: French-Arabic. In the first chapter, we have compared the modes and tenses in both languages. In the last two chapters, we have studied the semantic-syntactic input / output specificities of the two classes of communication and of motion whose subject is human [N0hum] according to the classification of the French verbs (LVF) of JD & FD C . [n this semantic-syntactic analysis, we have tried to disassemble the different syntactic patterns of the two classes, by indicating, for each syntactic type, the semantic nature and the type of its necessary arguments without forgetting to give to each predicate its equivalent in Arabic and to make a comparison between the argumentative structure of the French verbs and that of the Arabic verbs, in order finally to corne out with the similarities and the divergences between the two verb systems. And finally, in the third part, we have tried to show al! the necessary steps for the development of our application of machine translation using the NooJ platform .In this step, we have created:1/ Two bilingual dictionaries of communication and motion verbs. 2/ Formal grammars for the realization of the analysis phase and the recognition of the syntactic patterns of the predicates of class C and class E. 3/ Grammars of translation of verbs in the affirmative or negative form at the appropriate tenses, while specifying the rules of inflection and agreement in gender and number according to the standards of Arabic. At the output of our translation tool, we have found translated and inflected Arabic verbs that respect the rules of the target language

Full textThe translation of named entities (NEs) is a current research topic with regard to the proliferation of electronic documents exchanged through the Internet. So, the need to process these documents with NLP tools becomes necessary and interesting. Formal or semi-formal modeling of these NEs may intervene in both processes of recognition and translation. Indeed, it makes the accumulation of linguistic resources more reliable, limits the impact of linguistic specificities and facilitates the transformation from one representation to another. In this context, we propose a tool for the recognition and translation of Arabic NEs into French, based primarily on formal .representation and a set of transducers. This tool takes into account the integration of a module of transliteration. Its implementation was performed using the NooJ platform and the results obtained proved to be satisfactory

Full textThis work proposes a universal classification of verbs of "thought". It also presents a comparative analytical study of this group of verbs in several languages. The differences between the approaches specific classifications of each language make the task of universal categorization more complex. That's why we're facing in this work to the exploration of all the specifics of these verbs in Arabic and French. We begin this research with an attempt to define what can be a verb of thinking. Then we offer a directory of verbs representing all sub-categories studied. The dictionary and the analysis of the data submitted will be the subject of our second game. The third part, it relies on cognitive-semantic analysis of these verbs. The fourth and final section presents the analysis of these verbs when identified in the aligned bilingual parallel corpus
El, Kak Manar. "Le pronom on entre hypothèse psychomécanique et point de vue contrastif (français-arabe)." Thesis, Sorbonne université, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018SORUL112.
Full textThis dissertation examines the polysemy of the pronoun on from a contrastive, French-Arabic perspective. The objective of the study is to resolve a problem of irregularity in most Arabic translations of on. This problem seems to be rooted in the variety of contradictory usage of on in French which reflects its polysemy. The polysemy of on was examined through Gustave Guillaume’s interpretative model of psychomechanics of language. Then, an enunciative approach was employed to complement the theoretical framework. As a result, the ontogenesis of on revealed how the pronoun became intra-verbal, despite its substantive etymology. Moreover, the study employed the Radical Binary Tensor that represents the potential meaning of on in tongue. This potential meaning is illustrated by a double movement: from an indefinite plurality to an indeterminate plurality, where the point of transition is moi-locuteur. Further, the obtained potential meaning facilitated the identification, and ordination, of 13 effective meanings for on by taking into consideration the notion of person and the category of number. Those criteria distinguish between the values of the 3rd person, person 4, and the discursive values on one hand, and the expressive effects on the other. The contrastive analysis of a bilingual corpus revealed a preference on the part of translators to deal with on based on its expressive effects. Finally, the study proposed a set of Arabic correspondents to each of on’s 13 effective meanings. Ultimately, the research concluded that an accurate translation of on can only be possible by considering the group on + verb as a unit of translation

Full textRendering scientific content and research accessible, meaningful and relevant to readers through the use of popularization strategies as well as their translation / transmission into a target language are highlighted through the study of cognitive-emotive interactions in Arabic discourses published in the media, books and Internet. The argumentative emotional features or “pathemes” that modulate scientific Arabic discourses are heavily employed in order to attract the target audience as well as facilitate access to scientific knowledge. The use of such strategies in translated texts, the various methods employed in the translation of popularized discourses into Arabic and the terminology elaborated in the field of genetics are thoroughly identified, studied and analyzed
