Abstract:
Terdapat 16 kombinasi perlakuan, diulang 3 kali sehingga terdapat 48 unit percobaan.

Abstract:
INFLUENCE OF CONCENTRATION AND SOAKING TIME OF A. pintoi IN THE COW URINE ON PLANT GROWTH. Cow urine has an auksin a, auksin b, and IAA (hetero auksin) that can stimulate plant roots. The present study was conducted to determine the influence of concentration and soaking time in the cow urine on Arachis pintoi (A. pinto) growth. This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in Factorial arrangement with 2 factors A and B. Factor A= urine concentration: A1 = urine 75% + water 25% and A2; urine 50% + water 50%; and factor B = soaking time: B1 = 1 hour; B2 = 2 hours; Dan, B3 = 3 hours. Treatments were replicated 4 times. Parameters measured were: leaves amount (sheets), plant length (cm), and root weight (g). Research results showed that mean leaves amount ranged from 41,65 to 46,77 sheets, plant length 35,97-36,67 cm, and root weight 1,95-1,72 g. Utilization of cow urine with a different concentration and soaking time gave a non significant different (P>0.05) on leaves amount, plant length, and root weight. It can be concluded that cow urine concentration and soaking time do not effect leaves amount, plant length, and root weight of Arachis pintoi (A. pinto). Key words: Cow urine concentration, Soaking time, A. pintoi.

Abstract:
Tropical grasslands under lowland soils are generally underutilized and the litter of forage legumes may be used to recover these degraded pastures. The objective of this work was to study the dynamics of litter decomposition of Arachis pintoi (pinto peanut), Hyparrhenia rufa (thatching grass) and a mixture of both species in a lowland soil. These treatments were analyzed in three areas: grass monoculture, legume monoculture and legume intercropped with the grass during the dry and wet seasons. Litter bags containing the legume, grass or a mixture of both species were incubated to estimate the decomposition rate and microorganism colonization. Decomposition constants (K) and litter half-lives (T1/2) were estimated by an exponential model whereas number of microorganisms in specific media were determined by plate dilution. The decomposition rate, release of nutrients and microorganisms number, especially bacteria, increased when pinto peanut was added to thatching grass, influenced by favorable lignin/N and C/N ratios in legume litter. When pinto peanut litter was incubated in the grass plots, 50% N and P was released within about 135 days in the dry season and in the wet season, the equivalent release occurred within 20 days. These results indicate that A. pintoi has a great potential for nutrient recycling via litter and can be used to recover degraded areas.

Abstract:
The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effects of different fertilization ratios on the growth of pinto peanut (Arachis pintoi) propagated vegetatively under varying water regimes. The experiment was carried out in a net-house in a completely randomized design with three replicates. The N:P2O5:K2O ratios were applied at six levels: F1 (1:1:1), F2 (1:3:1), F3 (1:1:3), F4 (3:1:1), F5 (3:3:1), and F6 (3:3:3) while soil moisture included three different levels: 30% (W1), 60% (W2), and 100% (W3) field capacity. Water stress conditions were treated from 30-65 days after planting, and then the pots were irrigated to 100% field capacity. The results indicate that drought conditions significantly reduced (P<0.05) the growth of stolons, leaf appearance, number of secondary stolons, and dry matter, while the root/shoot ratio was higher compared to plants under well-watered conditions. There was no significant effect of the fertilization ratios on the number of secondary stolons. Higher-NP and NPK application ratios showed significant influences on the growth of A. pintoi under drought conditions by stimulating stolon lengths and the number of leaves, while the root/shoot ratio was decreased. Higher ratios of single fertilizers (N, P, or K) did not show a consistent effect on the growth of A. pintoi under drought conditions. The results suggest that a higher-NP fertilization ratio stimulates the growth of A. pintoi under both drought and well-irrigated conditions.

Abstract:
Secondary metabolites are important organic metabolites produced by plants. These metabolites include phenolic compounds, which have been of research interest because phenolics are considered an antinutritional factor for ruminants, compromise the bioavailability of nutrients. This study included a chemical composition analysis, an analysis of the condensed tannin content and the identification and quantification of the phenolic compounds present in the following plants cultivated with and without fertilisation: Coastcross-1 grass (G) and the legumes Stylosanthes guianensis cv. Mineirão (MS), Stylosanthes capitata × Stylosanthes macrocephala cv. Campo Grande (CGS), Arachis pintoi cv. Amarillo (AA) and Arachis pintoi cv. Belmonte (AB). High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to analyse 13 phenolic compounds. The forage with the best nutritive value was Amarillo pinto peanut. The condensed tannin content was higher in the legumes than that in the grass. Vanillin and o-coumaric, m-coumaric, caffeic and ferulic acid were detected in all the cultivars. The cultivar with the largest variety of phenolic compounds was Coastcross-1 grass. Diversity existed in the occurrence of phenolic compounds, which indicated the presence of condensed tannins in the cultivars and possibly that the diversity does not affect the concentration of these compounds. The AA cultivar was the most interesting alternative for the establishment of pasture intercropped with Coastcross-1 grass.

The objective of this research was to evaluate tree pasture-based systems (PS) with elephant grass (EG) + spontaneous growing species (SGS), ryegrass (RG), for PS1; EG + SGS + forage peanut, for PS2; and EG + SGS + RG + red clover, for PS3. EG was planted 4 m spaced rows. In the cool-season, ryegrass was sowed between rows of EG; red clover was sowed and the forage peanut was preserved in respectively PS. Experimental design was completely randomized with tree treatments (SF), two replicates (paddocks) in completely split-plot time (grazing cycles). Holstein cows receiving 5.5 kg-daily and a complementary concentrate feed were used in the evaluation. The herbage mass parameters, botanical composition, forage production and stocking rate were evaluated. Samples were collected by the hand-plucking method to analyze the organic matter (OM), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and organic matter in situ digestibility (OMISD) of pasture; phenols and tannins on legumes. Nine grazing cycle were performed during the experimental period (341 days). The mean values of forage production, stocking rate, crude protein and digestibility were 17.14; 16.80; and 19.47 t/ha; 3.28; 3.34; and 3.60 UA/ha; 13.86; 15.39; and 14.78%; 78.33; 79.23; and 79.94% on the respective PS. SGS increased significantly (P≤0,05) relation to the PS without forage legume. Similar results were observed for forage production OM an NDF in comparison to PS. Nutritive value was similar between forage legumes. Differences (P≤0,05) on condensed tannin tenors were observed between forage legumes. Considering the forage production, stocking rate and nutritive value, the PS mixed to forage legumes showed better performance.

This work aimed to study the tolerance of forage peanut at different herbicides in the edapho-climatic conditions of the city of Manaus-AM. The experiment was carried out at Embrapa Western Amazon, located on km 29 highway AM 010, Manaus-AM, from May to October 2009, in greenhouse conditions. The experimental design was completely randomized (5x6) with one additional treatment (control), with four replications in randomized block design (RBD). We applied six different doses of herbicides: Recommended Dose (RD), 25% DR (D1), 50% DR (D2), 75% DR (D3) and 125% DR (D4), plus additional treatment - control (D0 ). Stolons were used (20 cm) of forager peanut, cultivar Amarillo, planted in polyethylene bags containing 6.0 kg of capoeira forest humus substrate. Herbicide application was performed 70 days after planting (DAP), with a pressurized backpack sprayer at CO2. Visual assessments of tolerance (phytotoxicity) of the peanut plants (A. pintoi.) were examined in 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after herbicide application (DAA). For the evaluation of dry matter, was held the cutting of the plants at 110 days after planting (DAP) and its parts were separated in leaves, stems and roots. We removed a leaf of each plant to measure the specific leaf area (SLA). For processing the data we used SAS software, we did analyse of variance to test the differences between herbicides and the variables and regression analysis of doses of herbicides. Fomesafen treatment showed higher weight of dry matter of leaves (9.82 g plant-1) standing out from other herbicides. The A. pintoi was more tolerant to herbicides fomesafen with 6.57%of phytotoxicity, followed by bentazon (6.28%), and fluazifop-p-butyl (6.13%). The sulfentrazone showed the highest percentages of phytotoxicity (15.2%), resulting in a greater number of plants with leaf spots, necrosis and curling of leaves. The Arachis pintoi was tolerant to the herbicides fomesafen, bentazon and fluazifop-p-butyl, thus being the more suitable herbicides for the maintenance of A.pintoi

Abstract: The species Arachis pintoi, known as forage peanuts is a native legume from Brazil. There are many uses attributed to forage peanut, being its most common use as a forage species, providing food in large quantity and quality to the animals, in single crops or consortium with grasses. The occurrence of virus symptoms in forage peanut genotypes and crops has been observed by researchers in different Brazilian states. In Brazil, only two viral species have been reported: Peanut mottle virus-PeMoV and Cowpea mild mottle virus-CpMMV. The objective of this work was to study the forage peanut plant viruses of the Embrapa Acre Germplasm Bank and to detect viruses in Cumari-do-Pará pepper plants. To detect possible viruses in these genotypes, a new generation sequencing analysis was performed. Total RNA extraction from the twenty-two accessions was performed with the PureLink Viral RNA Kit (Invitrogen) followed by library preparation and transcriptome sequencing using the Illumina HiSeq2500 platform. This study was conducted at Embrapa Agrobiologia experimental area, in Serop?dica municipality, Rio de Janeiro State, with the objective of evaluating the association of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) with the foraging peanut (Arachis pintoi) in four situations of cultivation. The first study examined the association of peanuts with autochthonous AMF, from soil samples collected in Rio Branco municipality state of Acre, in areas of this legume as a single crop, and intercropped with pasture and coffee, as well as in secondary and primary forest. The AMF species were identified, determined the spore density and the root colonization rates, and then calculated the indexes of diversity. The other experiments were performed under greenhouse conditions, assessing the peanut seedlings response to inoculation with AMF species. The second study aimed to select the AMF effective in promoting growth of seedlings originating from seeds, and rooting of stolons in polystyrene trays, in substrate of low fertility, without additional fertilizer. In the third, it was investigated the response of seedlings propagated by rooting of stolons in condition of increasing doses of phosphorus. In the fourth study, the goal was to select AMF species that could improve the peanut forage performance cultivated in consortium with Brachiaria decumbens. The AMF species used were: Glomus etunicatum, Glomus clarum, Gigaspora margarita, Scutellospora heterogama, Acaulospora morrowiae and Entrophospora colombiana. It was assessed, among other variables, the dry matter production of shoots and roots. The analysis of the autochthonous community of AMF in agrosystems with A. Pintoi, notably in the monocrop system, indicated that this legume was a good host of AMF species, being useful to increase the density of spores and diversity of these organisms in the agrosystems. The analysis of the AMF community in the pastures intercropped with A. pintoi showed that this legume helped to increase the density of spores and diversity of species of AMF in the agrosystems. AMF species of greatest efficiency in promoting growth and nutrition of seedlings of A. Pintoi originated from seeds were E. colombiana, G. margarita, G. clarum, and A. morrowiae. However, for the seedlings originated of the rooting of stolons in polystyrene trays and without additional fertilization, it was not possible to detect a benefit of the mycorrhization. Though, these seedlings responded to the phosphate fertilization, and the response was most pronounced when inoculated with efficient AMF. In the intercropped cultivation, the treatments of inoculation were beneficial for both plant components of the system, and the A. Pintoi plants colonized by G. Clarum were most efficient to compete with the brachiaria grass.

Abstract:
The diversification of pastures together with lower dependence on high energy inputs such as mineral fertilization in forage-livestock systems is a promising alternative in the development of this industry. However, the lack of information on morphological and physiological characteristics of many promising forages such as legumes limits the rational utilization and adequate management of this resource. Studies morphological, physiological, and agronomic characteristics of forage legumes are important to characterize their growth patterns as well as to describe their growth, development and production. In order to establish a basis for the use of forage peanut genotypes and to ascertain the adaptation and the potential of these materials to the southeastern conditions of Brazil, this study was devised to describe and explain the morphological, physiological, and agronomic responses as well as the sward structural characteristics, and forage nutritive value of four forage peanut (Arachis pintoi (Krapov. & W.C. Gregory) genotypes submitted to two harvest frequencies. The study was conducted in Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil. The experimental design was completely randomized in a 4x2 factorial design (genotypes Mandobi, Amarillo, Belmonte, and Alqueire-1, harvested every 28 or 42 days at 10 cm), with three replications, totalling 24 experimental units. Responses measured included forage yield, canopy structural attributes, including height, leaf area index, light interception and plant-part composition and nutritive value. Total warm-season forage accumulation production (5,8 Mg MS ha-1) and accumulation rate (52 kg DM ha-1 d-1) were higher under the 28-d harvest schedule. The Belmonte cultivar showed the highest yield (8,1 Mg MS ha-1) and accumulation rate (69 kg DM ha-1 d-1) of all genotypes. The mean pre-harvest LAI (4,5) and light interception (97%) did not vary in response to harvest frequency. The forage crude protein concentration was higher at 28 days (253 g kg-1) and cultivar Belmonte forage had higher concentrations (265 g kg-1) than Mandobi and Amarillo. The concentrations of neutral detergent fiber did not vary with harvest frequency and Belmonte forage had higher NDF (369 g kg-1) than Alqueire-1 (337 g kg-1). Production of leaves and petioles did not vary as a function of harvest frequency, and Belmonte had the highest yield of leaves (6,0 Mg MS ha-1) and petioles (2,6 Mg MS ha-1). Belmonte had better agronomic performance with higher light interception andLAI, resulting in higher total forage accumulation. Harvest frequency impact yield characteristics and can modify sward architecture. Plant maturity affected forage nutritive value, with the 28-d schedule resulting in better forage.,

Abstract:
A study was developed simultaneously in Southwestern of Paraná and the Depressão Central of Rio Grande do Sul, to evaluate the production, structural and botanical components, nutritive value and morphogenetic character (exclusively in Paraná) in pastures of Coastcross-1 and Tifton 85 mixed with forage peanut (0, 25, 50 and 75% of implanted area). The experimental design was factorial (three factors), distributed in a randomized block design with three replications, the factors were cultivars (2), the percentage of area located in the legume (4) and evaluation periods. Forage production was higher for cv. Tifton 85, particulary in the second crop year, however, showed no effect of the increase of forage peanut in deployment of pastures. The increasing area implanted with legumes decreased participation of fractions leaf blade, stem and dead material in pastures. In Paraná, the use of 75% of the area planted with forage peanut promoted approximate 30% of total massa forage legume, unlike Rio Grande do Sul, with the same percentage of inclusion did not exceed 15%. The increasing presence of the forage peanut mass in the system increased the nutritive value of the pasture. In Paraná, the cv. Coastcross-1 showed better nutritive value compared to Tifton 85, and, the inclusion of forage peanut positively changed the crude protein in the leaf blades of grasses studied, from the second year of establishment. The number of green leaves, growth and senescence rate were similar among cultivars, but, cv. Coastcross-1 showed a higher number of expanded leaves and leaf appearance rate and lower phyllochron and leaf lifespan. Lower average daily heat accumulation decreases the development of grasses studied, although more pronounced in cv. Tifton 85.
No Paraná a cv. Tifton 85.

Abstract:
The grape production has attracted many companies and growers for the production of wines and juices in Rio Grande do Sul state. Grapes common cultivars of Vitis labrusca are the most used for this purpose in most crops. There is an intensive use of agricultural machinery, synthetic fertilizers and pesticides in viticulture and these practices bring on high economic and environmental costs. In this context, the aim of this study was to evaluate the production, development and chemical composition of fruits of the cultivar \"Bordo\", in crop seasons 2011/2012 and 2012/2013, with the use of soil cover with Arachis pintoi (Krap. & Greg). Two experiments were conducted in 10 years old commercial vineyard, located at Jaguari, RS, on two support systems for grapevine production: Y\" shape training system and trellis. Treatments were performed in three ways: soil with full coverage Arachis pintoi, soil with partial coverage with Arachis pintoi; clean soil with nitrogen application, and clean soil without nitrogen. The analyzed variables were fruit mass, number of clusters, soluble solids (SS), titratable acidity (TA), pH, total sugars, anthocyanins, total polyphenols, total nitrogen, total mass of branches, length of internodes, diameter branches, relative chlorophyll index (CRI) and nitrogen in the leaves. The results obtained in each of the variables studied in both experiments were submitted to variance analysis, factorial analysis with a split plot in time and the treatment means analyzed by Tukey test at 5 % probability. In experiment 1, the Y\" shape training system, showed significant differences between crop seasons and treatments for the variables: fruit mass, SS, anthocyanins, total polyphenols and total nitrogen, significant differences in terms of treatment variables: mass of branches, diameter of branches, 1 IRC and 2 nitrogen leaves. The experiment 2, the trellis system, showed significant differences for fruit mass, SS, TA, anthocyanins, total polyphenols, total nitrogen and differences among treatments in relation to the mass of branches and nitrogen in the leaves. Thus, under the conditions of this study, we concluded that the soil cover with Arachis pintoi interferes in the production positively in both systems support and chemical composition of the fruit, Arachis pintoi is an alternative to replace the fertilization from nitrogen.

In a modern cattle-breeding using pastures that allows a gain of weight is an essential factor. The Arachis pintoi is an option to a good alimentary diet and to the recuperation of degraded pastures, due to its potential in biological fixation of nitrogen and resistance to acid soil with high contents of aluminium. Experiments were conducted in greenhouse and growth chamber condition, in order to study the behavior of Arachis pintoi (Amarillo cv., Belmonte cv. and accession BRA-031534) in its relation to inoculation with rhizobial strains, aluminium tolerance and Mo influence. Strains CIAT-5067, CIAT-5083, CIAT-5087, BR-1432 e BR-1433 were used in inoculation experiments. In experiments with aluminium were used: a) A simple nutritive solution, initially with rates 10μM, 20μM, 40μM, 80μM and 160μM, and later 2μM, 4μM, 8μM, 16μM e 32μM, b) A complete nutritive solution with rates 20μM, 40μM, 80μM, 160μM and 320μM at Amarillo cv. and access BRA-031534 propagated by seeds and at the Amarillo and Belmonte cv. and access BRA-031534 vegetatively propagated. In the experiment with Mo, four rates of molybdenum (0g.ha-1, 50g.ha-1, 100g.ha-1 e 200g.ha-1), three levels of pH (4,0; 5,0 e 6,0) and two collection dates (49 days and 78 days) were used. The plants inoculated with CIAT strains, presented a good response to nodulation especially in relation to Belmonte cv., and with the same effectiveness of native strain. It was observed deleterious effect of nitrogen in the number of nodules. The results in simple nutritive solution had shown reduction in growth and dry mass of the root and a reduction evaluated in 27% by the relative root length between the concentration of 16μM and the control. In these experiments were observed responses to the concentration of aluminium, with appearance of mucilage and darkening of the primary root. In studies involving complete nutritional solution, Amarillo cultivar and accession BRA-031534 propagated by seeds had had reduction in the growth of the primary root and in relative length of the root in relation to the control. In the concentrations of 320μM and 160μM, a reduction of 51% and 49% respectively, in the Amarillo cultivar and access BRA-031534. It was also observed in this study with the Amarillo cultivar, roots with tip dark in the concentrations of 160μM and 320μM, and increase in the number of secondary roots from the concentration of 80μM. Pyrocatecol violet dyes seems to be promising in allowing a visualization of aluminum effects to Amarillo cultivar and accession BRA-031534. The aluminum in vegetative propagation influenced the cultivars and accession tested. Belmonte cultivar formed a higher number of adventitious roots when compared with Amarillo cv and accession BRA-031534, and with a concentration of 80μM a reduction in the adventitious roots length of the tested cultivars and access occurred. The molybdenum application promote answer in the second harvest in the pH 6,0 being obtained a larger number of nodules in the concentration of 200g.ha-1.The pH intervened in the nodulation.

The nutritional value of ten genotypes of forage peanut (Arachis pintoi): 13251, 15121, 15598, 30333, 31135, 31496, 31534, 31828, Itabela and RIO were evaluated. The statistical design used was a randomized block design with ten treatments (genotypes) and three replicates. At the CEPLAC Zootecnia station, in Itabela-BA, they were cultivated and harvested in two seasons (dry period, with lower rainfall, and rainy season, referring to the period with higher rainfall). The dry matter production (kg / ha), the production of green matter (kg / ha), crude protein, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber, insoluble protein of acid detergent from crude protein (% PB), insoluble protein of acid detergent from dry matter (% DM) and accumulated gas production adjusted to the Gompertz, Logistic, Brody, Von Bertalanffy and Bicompartmental Logistic models and evaluated by R², QMR, AIC and BIC were evaluated. The multivariable analysis used was the analysis of clusters with cophenetic correlation coefficient and the Rand index to verify the quality of adjustments and the number of groups. In the period of greatest rainfall, genotypes 15121, 15598, 30333 and 31496 stood out as the ones with best productivity and nutritional value. In the period of lower precipitation, genotypes 31828 and Itabela stood out as the best genotypes for feeding ruminants. The best model adjusted for both genotypes was the Logistic Bicomportamental model because it presented lower AIC and BIC. Therefore, it has superior adjustment and should be used to describe cumulative curves of gases in forage peanut (Arachis pintoi).
