Abstract:

Abstract:
Te synagogalne elementy przechodzą do chrześcijaństwa. Sacrosanctum Concilium, 7, 33). Tak więc w chrześcijańskiej liturgii słowa człowiek odnajduje ducha i życie (por. J 6, 63).

Abstract:
In Abschn. In Abschn.

Abstract: This paper analyzes from a sex-dissident perspective the so-called biblical series of the german comic writer and cartoonist Ralf König. From a work with comic and parodic devices in three texts, this author constructs queer interpretations of canonical bible episodes. In Prototyp (2008) the episode of Adam, Eve, God and the serpent in Eden is rewritten. In Archetyp (2009) Noah's episode and the flood. Finally in the last volume, Antityp (2010) works with the biblical figure of Paulus (Paul) of Tarsus. This article analyze these comics to think how what may see new themes in König have a specific root in his early works.

Abstract:

The main topic of this diploma thesis is the form and content of jungian shadow archetype in contemporary western cinema. In the first chapters it introduces the basic concepts of analytical psychology, which will be used as the principal method for analysis of the selected films (Fight Club, Game, Black Swan, Fisher King). The key concept is that in the core of each story are hidden archetypal contents. According to jungians these are the main force behind emotional response of audience. In films they can be portrayed either directly ? by personification into a film characters whose numinosity is supported by film language ? or indirectly ? by narrative elements and character's functions. The thesis concentrates on both options and analyzes formal means which express psychic nature of the selected film's elements. It defines three phases of ego-shadow relationship which are vaguely similar to three acts structure. It examines shadow archetype's function in the story and in human psychology as well. The results are put into context of jungian concepts. Rather than creating a complex system, the thesis outlines another option how to think about film and film language, which is deeply rooted in human psychology.

Abstract:
This research aims to examine Chinese myths, legends and tales from the perspective of analytical psychology. Considering that analytical psychologists have paid little attention to Chinese myths and that previous studies on Chinese myths from the standpoint of analytical psychology are lacking, this thesis investigates the universal archetype and its cultural carrier, or archetypal image, in Chinese mythical texts. First, this study examines both Jung’s engagement with Chinese culture, in order to see the function and significance of Chinese thought in analytical psychology, and the reception of Jungian thought in China, in order to demonstrate the lack of research on Chinese myths from the perspective of the theory of analytical psychology. Second, the study defines the concepts of archetype and archetypal image, and adopts the method of myth analysis from Jung and his followers to interpret Chinese motifs and symbols. Third, interpretations from the perspective of analytical psychology are applied to three motifs in Chinese culture: creation myths, flood myths and erotic anima figures. These provide materials for exploring similarities and differences in the mechanism and development of the human psyche between East and West. Fourth, this research concentrates on discussing two important Chinese symbols – Long (dragon) and Qi lin (unicorn) and their counterparts in western culture – by analysing these symbols at both the archetypal and cultural levels. The final part of this study explores the possible therapeutic value of Chinese myths in helping analysts to comprehend the human psyche and analysands to understand themselves in greater depth. This thesis fills a gap in the understanding of Chinese myth by means of Jungian psychology with the hope also of applying analytical psychology to Chinese culture more thoroughly and insightfully in both theoretical and practical contexts.

Sietz, Diana. "Dryland vulnerability : typical patterns and dynamics in support of vulnerability reduction efforts." Phd thesis, Universität Potsdam, 2011. http://opus.kobv.de/ubp/volltexte/2012/5809/.

Full text
Abstract:
The pronounced constraints on ecosystem functioning and human livelihoods in drylands are frequently exacerbated by natural and socio-economic stresses, including weather extremes and inequitable trade conditions. Therefore, a better understanding of the relation between these stresses and the socio-ecological systems is important for advancing dryland development. The concept of vulnerability as applied in this dissertation describes this relation as encompassing the exposure to climate, market and other stresses as well as the sensitivity of the systems to these stresses and their capacity to adapt. With regard to the interest in improving environmental and living conditions in drylands, this dissertation aims at a meaningful generalisation of heterogeneous vulnerability situations. A pattern recognition approach based on clustering revealed typical vulnerability-creating mechanisms at global and local scales. One study presents the first analysis of dryland vulnerability with global coverage at a sub-national resolution. The cluster analysis resulted in seven typical patterns of vulnerability according to quantitative indication of poverty, water stress, soil degradation, natural agro-constraints and isolation. Independent case studies served to validate the identified patterns and to prove the transferability of vulnerability-reducing approaches. Due to their worldwide coverage, the global results allow the evaluation of a specific system’s vulnerability in its wider context, even in poorly-documented areas. Moreover, climate vulnerability of smallholders was investigated with regard to their food security in the Peruvian Altiplano. Four typical groups of households were identified in this local dryland context using indicators for harvest failure risk, agricultural resources, education and non-agricultural income. An elaborate validation relying on independently acquired information demonstrated the clear correlation between weather-related damages and the identified clusters. It also showed that household-specific causes of vulnerability were consistent with the mechanisms implied by the corresponding patterns. The synthesis of the local study provides valuable insights into the tailoring of interventions that reflect the heterogeneity within the social group of smallholders. The conditions necessary to identify typical vulnerability patterns were summarised in five methodological steps. They aim to motivate and to facilitate the application of the selected pattern recognition approach in future vulnerability analyses. The five steps outline the elicitation of relevant cause-effect hypotheses and the quantitative indication of mechanisms as well as an evaluation of robustness, a validation and a ranking of the identified patterns. The precise definition of the hypotheses is essential to appropriately quantify the basic processes as well as to consistently interpret, validate and rank the clusters. In particular, the five steps reflect scale-dependent opportunities, such as the outcome-oriented aspect of validation in the local study. Furthermore, the clusters identified in Northeast Brazil were assessed in the light of important endogenous processes in the smallholder systems which dominate this region. In order to capture these processes, a qualitative dynamic model was developed using generalised rules of labour allocation, yield extraction, budget constitution and the dynamics of natural and technological resources. The model resulted in a cyclic trajectory encompassing four states with differing degree of criticality. The joint assessment revealed aggravating conditions in major parts of the study region due to the overuse of natural resources and the potential for impoverishment. The changes in vulnerability-creating mechanisms identified in Northeast Brazil are well-suited to informing local adjustments to large-scale intervention programmes, such as “Avança Brasil”. Overall, the categorisation of a limited number of typical patterns and dynamics presents an efficient approach to improving our understanding of dryland vulnerability. Appropriate decision-making for sustainable dryland development through vulnerability reduction can be significantly enhanced by pattern-specific entry points combined with insights into changing hotspots of vulnerability and the transferability of successful adaptation strategies.<br>Die Grenzen ökologischer Funktionen und menschlicher Lebensweisen in Trockengebieten werden häufig durch natürlichen und sozio-ökonomischen Stress, wie extreme Wetterereignisse und ungerechte Handelsbedingungen, weiter verengt.

Abstract:
As part of this development, many concepts have been transferred and adapted to the Entrepreneurship and SME sector from large corporation research, without being tested for their fit to this area. An (empirical) examination how the underlying models and assumptions transferred apply also to the field of SMEs in general seems to be necessary. One of the tools that gain more attention every year is the concept of Entrepreneurial Orientation. Entrepreneurial Orientation provides a tool that can model the entire lifecycle of an enterprise and integrates elements of entrepreneurship as well as organizational and strategy research. This book does provide a theoretical and empirical evaluation of how Entrepreneurial Orientation may be useful by designing configurations of small and medium-sized enterprises

Abstract:
Transdisciplinary focused work concentrates on the possibilities of the application of the system thinking in the various science branches. Out of system disciplines it studies in detail the system dynamics -- specifically Archetypes (general structures). Introduction to the general system theory can be found in the first section of the theoretical part. Next sections are more particular and refer to the main ideas of system dynamics and Archetypes. Next part of the work focuses on common methods of the economic analysis. Apart from their brief description there is also discussion about their main theoretical flaws. The economic analysis of the specific socio-economic issue (road speed limits) is performed in the last part of the work and it includes substantial usage of the Archetypes and general system-thinking attitude. Primary aim of this part is to confirm or disprove the hypothesis of the utility of Archetypes in the economic analysis.

Abstract:
AbstractThe BMT provides the building blocks to develop a logic for a business model. In such a model the nature of value creation, how value creation is organized, and how transactions are taking shape are operationalized so that they meet the proposition. Practice shows that at present business models aimed at capturing multiple value creation can be divided into three major categories: (1) platform business models, (2) community-based (or collective) business models, and (3) circular business models. The three archetypes differ mainly in the way in which they create value, as well as the objective, the mechanism through which value creation takes place, and the infrastructural and technological requirements. When using the BMT, it is useful to consider at an early stage which business model archetype is dominant in the realization of the intended value proposition. Choosing a business model archetype might look straightforward, but it can be quite a tricky task.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract Staged multipoint injection has been developped as an interesting technology to control flow and flame dynamics in Lean Premixed Prevaporized (LPP) swirled gas turbine burners. The BIMER combustor, a two-staged swirling burner composed of a pilot stage and a multipoint stage, has been operated for many years to shed light on the complex phenomena related to such kinds of burners, as well as to build an experimental database for the validation of numerical developments. During the experimental campaigns, several flame archetypes have been encountered, flame shape transitions and a consequent hysteresis cycle were observed depending on the liquid fuel splitting between the stages. As each flame archetype presents different combustion characteristics and thermoacoustic behavior, it is highly relevant to understand how to stabilize such archetypes. In this optics, the objective of the present paper is to investigate ignition as a way to control the final flame archetype. By means of Large Eddy Simulations, we explore different operating conditions and have a direct insight into the flame propagation process. Two operating conditions are simulated: a low and a high flow rate condition. Two simulations are performed for each operating point, one where the ignition kernel is initiated in the Outer Recirculation Zone (ORZ) and the other one where it is initiated in the Central Recirculation Zone (CRZ). In all cases the fuel is injected only through the pilot injector, as in the ignition process during experiments. For the low power point, both ORZ and CRZ ignitions lead to the stabilization of a V-flame. When igniting on the high power operating point, the ORZ ignition results in a M-shaped flame, while the CRZ one results in a tulip shape. These different behavior are analyzed and discussed in the final part of the paper.

Silva, Antonio, Yadong Jiang, Luis Macedo, Jose Miguel Castro, and Ricardo Monteiro. "Seismic performance assessment of conventional steel and steel-concrete composite moment frames using CFST columns." In 12th international conference on ‘Advances in Steel-Concrete Composite Structures’ - ASCCS 2018. Universitat Politècnica València, 2018. http://dx.doi.org/10.4995/asccs2018.2018.7165.

Full text
Abstract:
The research reported in this paper focuses on the assessment of the seismic performance of conventional steel moment-resisting frames (MRFs) and steel-concrete composite moment-resisting frames employing circular Concrete-Filled Steel Tube (CFST) columns. Two comparable archetypes (i.e. one steel MRF, with steel columns and steel beams; and one composite MRF, with circular CFST columns and steel beams) are designed, and used as the basis for comparison between the seismic performance associated with each typology. Both structures are designed against earthquake loads following the recommendations of Eurocode 8. The comparison of the obtained design solutions allows concluding that the amount of steel associated with the main structural members is higher for the steel-only archetype, even though the composite MRF has the higher level of lateral stiffness. This aspect is particularly relevant when one considers that a minimum level of lateral stiffness (associated with the P-Δ inter-storey drift sensitivity coefficient, θ), is imposed by the European code, which may ultimately govern the design process. The two case-studies are then numerically modelled in OpenSees, and their seismic performance is assessed through fragility assessment for a number of relevant limit states, and, finally, earthquake-induced loss estimation. In general, the results obtained clearly indicate that the composite MRF with circular CFST columns exhibits better seismic performance than the equivalent steel-only archetype. This is noticeably shown in the comparison of the fragility curves associated with the collapse limit state, which tend to show substantially higher probabilities of exceedance, at similar levels of 1st-mode spectral acceleration, for the steel-only case. Furthermore, seismic losses at several seismic intensity levels of interest tend to be higher for the steel MRF.

Abstract:
In response to the call for multi-functional products, we have developed several relevant ideation techniques. These techniques are tailored for design of transformers — devices with multiple functional states. In this paper, we present significant advancements in transformational design. Primarily, we introduce a method to enhance quality, novelty, and feasibility (QNF) of design solutions. The method is used to classify design problem context and suggest pursuit of one of the two following device archetypes, transformer or monomorph — devices with a single functional state. The Indicators method is associated with a significantly increased probability of producing a design problem solution with higher QNF than a control (standard) design method. The claim that this method is accurate, its results are repeatable, and usage thereof enhances QNF is supported by a network of experiments and analyses. Statistical analysis is used to establish the accuracy, precision and repeatability of the method. Industry-standard qualitative methods, including inter-rater reliability analysis, demonstrate that usage of the Indicators method enhances design concept QNF. Concurrent minor analyses highlight the novelty of transformable designs; and some positive psychological effects of using the method. Additionally, the contextual (archetype) indicators have shown implicit promise as a core element for future research into ideation methods.

SMORZHEVSKA, Oksana. "INCESSANT WORRY OR HAPPINESS IN UKRAINIAN." In Happiness And Contemporary Society : Conference Proceedings Volume. SPOLOM, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.31108/7.2021.56.

Abstract:
«Incessant worry» - this phrase-meme actively «walks» on social networks and has already become part of the language of everyday life. It is usually used in a somewhat ironic sense. But at the same time, in my opinion, this irony really contains a deep understanding of «what is happiness in Ukrainian». Cordocentrism is considered one of the characteristic features of the Ukrainian mentality. And also antheism (kinship with the native land) and execution (dominance in the psyche of the «feminine principle», but is not synonymous with femininity). All these features have found their embodiment, among other things, in art. And it is precisely the «Incessant worry» that reflects the cordocentrism of the Ukrainian character, and hence the understanding of happiness in Ukrainian. In pursuit of the material components of our everyday life, we have forgotten that happiness is harmony, it is order within ourselves and the creation of a positive attitude around us. Happiness in Ukrainian is coziness, cute little things that make our life more pleasant, it is pleasure from the work that you do, it is your health and your loved ones. And then this «Incessant worry» of Cossack Mamai, a warrior-wise man, in combination with a reeled doll (motanka), acquire a modern sound in our present. It has gone through difficult centuries, tempered in the whirlwind of complex life's vicissitudes and remains national archetypes, the cores of Ukrainian spiritual culture. KEY WORDS: «Incessant worry», happiness in Ukrainian, archetype, cordocentrism, reeled doll, Cossack Mamai.
