Abstract:
This article reads the notion of mediatization through a current example of architectural practice: the Axel Springer Campus in Berlin. Based on current theories of mediatization, it shows how this architectural project for a media firm finds new ways for architecture itself to function as a medium. It argues that architect Rem Koolhaas developed an architectural design that has the capacity to mediate images and interpretations of the productivity of media practitioners, of the relationship between media firm and urban environment, as well as of more general transformations of media work in the digital age.

Abstract:
Purpose – This theoretical paper aims to develop a model of how best to facilitate projects knowledge sharing within architectural firms to learn from lessons and improve the firm innovation capabilities, knowledge and skills. Design/methodology/approach – A conceptual framework is developed by reviewing the literature in the fields of knowledge management (KM), the project-based organisation and communities of practice (CoPs) and linking these to the literature on the architectural firm. Findings – In the architectural firm, KM strategy needs to be linked to the overall business strategy determining the balance of codification/personalisation. The firm needs to be structured as a double-knit organisation connecting projects with CoPs. This structure creates a social network that allows sharing the useful and innovative knowledge created through the design process. Success depends on building a knowledge environment, providing organisational support and building a learning architecture within projects. A balanced combination of information and communication technologies, lessons-learned, storytelling, conversational learning and dialogue are needed as knowledge sharing methods. Originality/value – This paper's originality is in constructing a conceptual framework or model for knowledge sharing within the architectural firm with CoPs at the heart of that model. This paper is valuable to any architectural practice that aims to protect its reputation, improve its performance and increase its innovative knowledge base. It is also valuable to the construction industry by helping to minimise design mistakes and the consequent cost of construction rework.

Abstract:
In the human resource-based view of an organisation, resource heterogeneity of the firm provides sustainable competitive advantage. The two core variables that define the resource heterogeneity are the content capital (human capital) and the contextual capital (organisational and managerial processes) of the firm. Using the architectural designs that specify the gradient of organisational performance, this paper suggests the organisational architecture of human resources, delineating the mechanisms of content capital and contextual capital formations. The general model of architecture explains the key variables that architect the content capital and contextual capital. The interactive architectural designs specify the patterns of interaction between the contextual capital processes like leadership, decision-making, communication, motivational strategies, control systems, innovation processes and organisational culture that interact with the content capital of weak and strong patterns producing varying organizational performance outcomes.

Abstract:
The intent of this research was to investigate the relationship between the workforce, business strategy and performance of architectural firms. Data was collected from 92 firms randomly selected from the cities where architectural firms were most concentrated in Nigeria using questionnaires. Hierarchical regression analysis was carried out to investigate the direct and indirect impacts of the workforce of architectural firms on their performance. The findings confirm the significant positive impact. With business strategy controlled, the specific characteristics of the workforce and its management which influenced performance were the number of architects, the work structure, and the age and experience of the principal partners. The impact of the number of non- architecture professionals and staff participation in decision-making on performance was moderated by the business strategy adopted by the firms. The results suggest that workforce characteristics are more important than the management of the workforce in determining performance of architectural firms. This is contrary to the results of previous studies which suggest higher importance of the management. This probably indicates the peculiarity of architectural firm as a professional service firm in the construction industry.

With the advent of new technologies, one successful case of technological transition is Fanuc Ltd., a company that successfully introduced Intel MPUs (Microprocessor Units) to NC (Numerical Control) machines in 1975 and has since continued to achieve sustained growth. This adoption of MPU caused a change in NC architecture. Through an in-depth case study of Fanuc, we show how adopting MPU to an NC system destroys the usefulness of accumulated hard-wired architectural knowledge in that firm due to changes in architecture. We also show how Fanuc developed the new architectural knowledge necessary for MPU-based soft-wired NC systems. This study is not an analysis of the causes of failure, but rather focuses on the aspects of successful management of architectural change. By analyzing and studying a successful case, we can gain valuable insights into managing architectural knowledge.

Abstract:
Clients have expressed dissatisfaction about services of professionals as a result of poor quality of service and errors in documentations resulting into overrunning project cost and delayed completion. This study investigated the influences of firms’ types, size of firms and experience of firms on provision of professional services of Architectural firms in the process of meeting the expectations of the client. Questionnaires was used to collect data for the study through random sampling. The results of ANOVA showed that firm types had no significance on services across the stages of service, firm size showed significance while the experience of the firm showed significance across the inception and the design stages. Multiple regression analysis showed that the variables cumulatively explained 3.9% (at p < 0.05) of the variance in the overall professional services of architectural firms. Among the variables, only the firm size showed a significant impact on the overall professional services with a p-value of 0.003. The firm type and experience of firm had no impact on the overall professional services. The findings serve as a guide to the clients in making choice of consultancy firms for their project, and as a guide to the consultancy firms in order to remain competitive in the globalized industry.

Abstract:
The Tiing Hotel is a four-star accommodation facility located in Tejakula District, Buleleng Regency, Bali Province. This architectural work is interesting to discuss because it comes with a unique industrial architecture theme. The industrial architectural style appears with the characteristic of using basic materials as they are without significant processing which gives the impression of being unfinished, firm, masculine and honest. The industrial architecture theme at The Tiing Hotel is unique because of the mix of cement/concrete with bamboo which is widely used in its design. Generally, the dominant industrial architecture uses modern materials produced by factories or former factory buildings. This study examines and analyzes how the architects of The Tiing Hotel designed and implemented industrial architectural themes in their designs. This research is qualitative in nature. Data sourced from secondary data were analyzed using descriptive methods. The conclusions obtained show that The Tiing Hotel applies the theme of industrial architecture with a modern minimalist nuance in a rural Balinese natural setting. The character of industrial architecture can be seen in the shape of the building and the firm lines; unfinished floor, wall, ceiling surfaces; the original color of the material and exposed surface. No visible exposure to mechanical-electrical elements. The combination with natural elements can be seen from the arrangement of the building site in response to its environment; exposed concrete wall materials with bamboos and natural stones; furniture and decoration with natural materials.

Abstract:
The product platform development process becomes critical and of general interest when different brand name products are developed from inter-firm developed product platforms. The inter-firm platform adds perspectives not considered in previous research. In this article areas related to the inter-firm product platform integration process are described. The study is a longitudinal, deep, explorative study aimed at identifying managerial challenges to inter-firm platform development and how they can be dealt with. Analysis shows that the factory sequence is a critical factor when developing inter-firm platform architecture. Also, making architectural concessions without jeopardising brand uniqueness places new demands on managers involved in the development processes. Further, we found a reciprocal interdependence between technological and managerial factors that created a need for innovative organisational and managerial solutions. Finally, reciprocal interdependences add complementary theoretical knowledge on how to better control and understand areas that hamper inter-firm product development projects from attaining cost-effective solutions and economies of scale.

Abstract:
A Review of: Mathews, E. (2021). Representational belonging in collections: A comparative study of leading trade publications in architecture. Library Resources & Technical Services, 65(3). https://journals.ala.org/index.php/lrts/article/view/7486 Abstract Objective – To measure how well women are reflected, specifically women of colour, in architectural trade publications. Design – Quantitative diversity audit. Setting – Architecture field. Subjects – Architectural firms whose work appeared in four trade publications (Architectural Record, Architectural Review, l’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui, and Detail) in 2019. Methods – A diversity audit was selected to analyze the representation of various subsets of women within the architecture core collections. The Avery index was used to identify architectural firms featured in four trade publications. The quantitative study collected demographic data from 354 firms, featuring 726 women. Within these firms, the author sought to identify women leaders and how many of those were women of colour. The author then used four guiding questions to analyze the journals: (1) individual journals’ coverage; (2) size of the firm; (3) type of firm, and (4) firms which issued a statement in support of the Black Lives Matter Movement and the likelihood of a woman of colour being in a leadership role. Main Results – The key results for the studies guiding questions were: (1) the overall average of women leaders in the firms covered in the journals was 24% and for women of colour 6%. Architectural Record featured the highest proportion of firms with women in leadership roles (28%) and those with women of colour as leaders (9%); (2) women leadership was higher in smaller firms (large 24%; medium 20%; small 31%) as was women of colour in leadership (large 3%; medium 6%; small 9%); (3) insufficient data was found for meaningful analysis of the representation of women according to specialization within the architectural field; and (4) the firms that issued clear BLM statements were highest in the US (15%) overall. Architectural Record, a US publication, featured the highest percentage of firms that made clear BLM statements (27%). Conclusion – The study concluded that there was an underrepresentation of women, women of colour, and Black women in architectural trade publications. The author’s position is that collection development practices should adequately reflect the library users they serve with acquisition actions that increase a more equitable representation. The author stated that the practical implications for this study fall under the rubric of remediation in the following areas: (1) balance inequities in architectural programs by increasing enrollment of women; (2) identify collections which lack inclusivity, balance them with curated electronic resources; and (3) collection policies should reflect readership and encourage a sense of professional belonging. In future studies, the author acknowledges that a qualitative study based on responses from architects would complement the current study.

Abstract:
The production of design and work has completely changed in the digital age. Building design is beginning to incorporate digital architecture as a common technology. Located in Surabaya, Indonesia, Oshu Studio is an architectural consulting firm that constantly innovates in its industry to become the greatest. In the modern era, elevating digital architecture as a benefit is still extremely rare. Oshu Studio chose to adopt a parametric design for this design because it recognized the swift advancement of technology, which is particularly important given the prevalence of quick technological advancements. The Posh Avenue project’s aim, among other things, is to provide solutions to clients’ problems or needs by designing a building Shopping Center and an eatery that can increase sales and bring digital architectural trends to the people of Surabaya City has never existed before. The digital architectural concept adopted by Oshu Studio to realize the client’s wishes is using a Kinetic Facade. The use of digital technology produces design outcomes that are distinct and give off the client’s desired futuristic vibe. In addition, the Avenue High-End Shopping Center and Eatery project is designed with great efficiency in terms of time. Apart from that, the most significant factor is that Oshu Studio can explain and exhibit simulations more easily using digital architectural software.

Abstract:
The work is dedicated to an important architectural object – the Hotel Puerta America in Madrid. Modern trends in architectural practice, mainly for commercial purposes, are characterized by the creation of architectural objects that are distinguished by very vivid imagery, sometimes even excessive. Such buildings are called landmark or iconic. It has been proven that Puerto America is just such an object. The article traces the stages of creating an architectural brand, promoting its image on tourist sites and perception by visitors using the example of a hotel. At the concept stage, the hotel was conceived by the executives and managers of the Spanish firm Silken Hotels as an iconic building, a place that combines different perspectives on architecture, design and art. A brief description of the main design features of the exterior and rooms, as well as public spaces such as lobbies, restaurants, bars, lounge areas, etc. is provided. What is unique is that individual authors and teams worked on the design of the hotel, implementing their ideas within the strict limits of the already existing structure. Brief information about the authors of architectural solutions is provided, among which are four Pritzker Prize laureates – Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid, Jean Nouvel and Arata Isozaki. The result of such a creative experiment was not an object belonging to any style direction, but rather a museum of architecture and design or even an architectural attraction. An analysis of the representation of hotel rooms for booking on the relevant sites has been presented, showing the inconsistency of lofty ideas, their implementation by outstanding masters in the field of architecture and design, and the quality of information about it, the lack of understanding by the managers of these sites of the uniqueness of architectural and design solutions and the importance of professional and full coverage of the main advantages of the hotel. Emmons, Paul. "Diagrammatic Practices: The Office of Frederick L. Ackerman and "Architectural Graphic Standards"." Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians 64, no. 1 (2005): 4–21. http://dx.doi.org/10.2307/25068122.

Full text
Abstract:
The office of Frederick Ackerman (1878-1950) was the source of the first modern architectural handbook, Architectural Graphic Standards (1932), which was intended as a radical manifesto. Basing his practice on the economic critique of "conspicuous consumption" by Thorstein Veblen (1857-1929), Ackerman was a leader of the technocratic movement. Ackerman directed his employees to develop factual architectural data. The authors of Graphic Standards, Charles Ramsey (1884-1963) and Harold Sleeper (1893-1960), worked at Ackerman's firm, and it was for Ackerman's projects that the first versions of the handbook's plates were drawn. Graphic Standards reflected Ackerman's technocratic approach to architecture, whereby he isolated functional facts from appearance, which was understood as self-expression. In its use of diagrams, Graphic Standards reflected the view that such schematic representations were the transparent rendering of facts. Yet, as seen in some of the plates of Graphic Standards, even the most reductive diagrams inevitably include expressive elements. Through many editions, Graphic Standards has been widely hailed as the "bible" of architectural practice, and it is paradoxical that Ackerman's radical practice became the basis of today's normative commercial practices. The attempt to separate functional fact from aesthetic self-expression was an impossible project, but Ackerman's efforts to achieve a modern architecture that was derived from the nature of its use and construction to replace the design of novelties remain a significant achievement.

Abstract:
In the contemporary digital landscape, architectural firms are increasingly reliant on sophisticated websites to showcase their portfolios and engage with clients. This paper delves into creating a user-centered website, emphasizing the critical role of front-end development in marrying aesthetics with functionality. Through a detailed examination, the study highlights prevailing trends in user interaction, visual design, and technological integration specific to architectural web platforms. In this paper, a prototype website was designed and implemented, utilizing HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, coupled with responsive design principles and interactive features. The development process involved using interactive keywords, a dynamic project gallery, and a responsive navigation menu, all facilitated by Java Server Pages (JSP) for back-end integration. This approach underscored the importance of user-centered design in web development for architectural firms. This study successfully integrated an intuitive user interface with advanced functionality, resulting in a web design that not only aesthetically aligns with the architectural firms brand identity but also enhances user engagement. Key results include an innovative scrolling gallery showcasing architectural projects, seamless integration of JSP for dynamic content management, and a notable improvement in website navigability and responsiveness, leading to a more interactive and satisfying user experience.

Abstract:
The project for the renovation of the Willy Van Der Meeren apartment building known as Ieder Zijn Huis [“A House for Everyone”], in Brussels, raises a question that is crucial for the conservation of modern work using prefabrication techniques. The debate focuses on the original design and construction values, and above all on how best to keep them alive and contemporary despite the building's age and changing standards and techniques. In the wording of the renovation specifications, the project owner — the public company Beliris — laid stress on the importance of preserving the architectural qualities: “Given the building's importance in the architectural heritage, the renovation must reflect the original ideas of the designer, Willy Van Der Meeren”. The point of the call for tenders was to establish an approach for the work that conserves the structure's architectural principles in terms of appearance and structural articulation, while making renovated apartments available that meet today's standards. The architecture firm Origin decided to focus on the building's values and on the comfort and convenience of the accommodation, while pursuing further the conceptual direction taken by the original designer. This meant exploring all the building's architectural and structural aspects in order to successfully showcase its qualities.

Abstract:
Purpose Spurred by the internationalization trend, many architectural professional bodies across the globe relaxed their norms related to the acceptance of promotion and marketing within the services. However, in India, the architectural services codes have not reflected any changes. This paper aims to focus on Indian architectural practice and attempts to investigate about the causes of low marketing activities within the practice in the country. Design/methodology/approach The study is based on a primary research process of data collection through survey administration. Survey is conducted using a close-ended structured questionnaire based on Likert scale technique. The data are analysed using both descriptive and empirical research techniques mainly, factor analysis. The sample is defined using random clustering sampling technique, from the list of architects registered with the professional regulating body of India, i.e. the Council of Architecture. Findings The findings of the study are suggestive that architectural firms in India are instinctively practising marketing-related activities, to position their firm to attract clients without formally adopting them. There appears to be a silent routinization of the marketing tasks in the firms. The findings are suggestive of academic and professional ignorance as one of the barriers towards marketing. The findings advocate that recognizing the growing competitive nature of architectural practices in the country, the regulatory and institutional body, Council of Architecture, may retrospect their code of conduct. The results of the present study have a great implication on the architectural education in the country. The findings advocate that the architectural curriculum in the country should be broadened to include the basic knowledge about marketing. Research limitations/implications The present study opens a newer paradigm in the practice of architectural services. It highlights the growing linkages between the field of marketing and architecture. It opens a new area of research where linkages between interdisciplinary fields is an important aspect that needs researchers attention, to have a good model of survival for professional firms in a highly competitive environment. Practical implications The research findings have great implications for the architectural firms that seek to operate in the globally volatile environment. The increasing competitive nature of the architectural services in India demands a dynamic decision and procurement methods that can strategically position firms in the market. Marketing strategies have a significant role in positioning firms and increasing their client base. Originality/value The subject of architectural practice and its operation is an under-researched area. The present study makes a strong point for formal involvement of marketing strategies in the promotion of architectural firms in India. The paper attempts to bridge this gap, and the strength of the paper lies in the empirical nature of its investigation.

Abstract:
Historiography expresses a firm point of view that the movement of Brutalism did not have a more significant influence on Serbian architecture. Several researches in their essays point out that there are, however, certain works by Serbian architects that could be denoted as Brutalist in style. Nevertheless, after scientific analysis of the representative examples materialized in raw concrete and brick and their comparison with authentic interpretations of Brutalist principles, it is evident that Serbia does have a significant number of architectural works representing Brutalism. The aim of the research was to consider to what extent Brutalist architecture in Serbia was the consequence of architects being inspired by modern world Brutalism architecture, or whether its emergence stemmed from necessity, i.e. specific social circumstances in Serbia during the 60s and 70s of the XX century.

Abstract:
Purpose: The workflow in an office plays a significant role for an effective and efficient work output. It is vital to prepare a strategy for streamlining the work process by eliminating errors and improving workflow for increased efficiency and work output in an architectural practice. To increase operational efficiency, a firm must first understand how to streamline their workflow that add value to their daily tasks and practice time and communication management. The primary purpose of this research is to prepare a strategy for streamlining the workflow within the office and with the consultants for efficient, effective and mistake free work output.
Methodology: The research is approached by identifying the current trends of workflow management prevalent in architectural offices; identifying the issues and associated problems and finally developing an organized and streamlined workflow strategy. The research is structured initially with review of existing knowledge on the stakeholder and communication management, study of seven quality tools and their application in the given situation, followed by in-depth semi- structured expert interviews with practicing architects, and survey with a target population of practicing architects.
Main Findings: From the analysis, it is evident that the primary issue lies because of communication gap with consultants and subcontractors and lack of coordination within the office, followed by lack of work experience; lack of visibility and inadequate number of projects and Hiring of Team members. The research concludes with a list of recommendations that can be beneficial for effective and efficient workflow management for a startup architectural firm to reduce conflicts at the site and increase work output.

Abstract:
The Balaia Hotel (1964–1968) near Albufeira, in the Algarve, designed by Francisco Conceição Silva and Maurício de Vasconcellos, is one of the first and most iconic seaside holiday megastructures built in Portugal. In its territorial approach, physical dimension and range of amenities, it represents a new stage of development in seaside tourism accommodation facilities. A self-contained and self-sufficient structure that shapes its own landscape. Also, the “turn key” commission implied the transition from the small-scale architecture office to the multidisciplinary design and planning firm, revolutionizing the Portuguese architectural culture and professional practice. This essay addresses the impact of the Balaia Hotel on the traditional structures of architecture production and, consequently, on the disciplinary debate of the 1960s in Portugal.

Abstract:
AbstractStudies of product architecture identify a mirroring process between the product and the organisation. Parallel, empirical studies of effectual entrepreneurship show an accumulation of commitments between stakeholders while negotiating the features of the product in a similar fashion to product mirroring. This paper presents a study that looks at the effects of mirroring architectural complexity in early stages of entrepreneurship. The survey asked participants to interpret parametrically generated artefacts with the purpose of starting a new firm. Responses were analysed for complexity in the lexical semantic structure of ideas. Results show that the effects of artefact complexity are not as straightforward as hypothesised and provide evidence that suggests an important role of artefact morphology in entrepreneurial ideation. These findings support a model of product architecture mirroring that is filtered by design morphology.

In This Is What We Do: A Muf Manual, the partners of the firm muf architecture/art wrote that ‘paradoxically, in order to make the thing the collaboration has to be about the making of the relationship rather than the object.’1 This article takes this assertion as its basis and examines the implications of treating the individual and collective relationships that structure an architectural project – which I will refer to as the project’s relational field – as a site that can be manipulated in order to affect both production and outcome. This is achieved through the transposition of concepts from Mikhail Bakhtin’s work on creative activity, art, literature, and language to design using a case study of muf’s Barking Town Square project in London (2004–10).

Abstract:
Social media has been used as a marketing tool by architecture firms to generate purchase intention. However, inspiration as a motivating internal response is needed to achieve the marketing objective. This study aims to examine the effect of utilitarian content, hedonic content, and openness as antecedents of customer inspiration, the effect of customer inspiration on purchase intention, and the mediating role of customer inspiration between antecedents and purchase intention. A total of 395 respondents were taken as samples using simple random sampling, and the data was then analyzed with SmartPLS. Results show that utilitarian content, hedonic content, and openness positively affect customer inspiration, and customer inspiration positively affects purchase intentions. Additionally, customer inspiration also mediates the effect of utilitarian content, hedonic content, and openness on purchase intentions. This study contributes to the literature on customer inspiration from a customer-firm relationship perspective. Moreover, this study can give insight for architectural firms to effectively practice social media marketing by focusing on creating customer inspiration through the content provided and targeting the right potential customers in order to generate architectural design service purchase intention.

Kata kunci: Efisiensi Ruang; Kantor Sewa; Kebutuhan Ruang; Biro Arsitektur Pemula Abstract_ Architecture firms in Makassar City are generally dominated by entities that do not yet have a physical office to reflect their professionalism and credibility. In the context of the city's rapid growth, the need for an office that demonstrates professionalism becomes increasingly crucial. Rental offices are one of the solutions for architectural firms that do not yet have a representative physical office. Still, currently, the rental offices available in Makassar City cannot meet this need, despite its importance. Meanwhile, there are no standardized criteria for the type and size of space requirements of architectural bureau start-ups' rental offices, so research is needed to identify the necessary number of space units and the most dominant space requirements for architectural bureau start-ups in Makassar City. This research aims to identify how many space units and what space needs are most dominantly needed by a beginner architectural bureau. A mixed research method through literature review and questionnaires was used to gain a holistic understanding. The results showed that the priority space required by a start-up architecture firm with a capacity of less than ten people and an area of approximately 34.25 m2 includes a director's room, administrative staff room, principal architect room, and studio room. At the same time, other needs are still considered in the rental office design as shared facilities. Keywords: Space Efficiency; Rental Office; Space Requirement; Beginner Architecture Firm

This paper studies the relationship between a firm’s boundary choices within its value chain and the BEE pressures it faces from its clients. The paper shows that BEE policy alters the value chain preferences of a firm’s clients. These changes in client preferences motivate the firm to altering its boundaries. More important, boundary changes due to BEE are implemented in a way that ensures that the firm retains crucial architectural knowledge, which preserves its competitive advantage. Firms therefore do not respond passively to BEE-induced changes in client preferences, but aim to meet BEE aims within their broader strategic environment.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to help firms to create competitiveness by developing marketing capabilities. It analyzes how the component and architectural competences affect and enhance market orientation and firm performance. Design/methodology/approach – Built on the theories of organizational capability, knowledge creation, and market orientation, this research develops the contents of marketing capabilities, including component and architectural competences that contribute to marketing capability by responding to external changes, and analyzes their influence on market orientation and firm performance. Findings – The study reveals the following effective marketing capabilities which benefit to marketing performance. First, hiring and retaining employees with higher professional, local, and specific knowledge. Second, firms with higher tacit knowledge enhance market orientation. Third, arranging employees into teamwork to implement marketing tasks. Fourth, assigning employees into small-scale experiments on creative proposals. Fifth, standardizing procedures of generation, dissemination, and response of marketing intelligence. Sixth, providing written market information and training programs to non-marketing staff. Seventh, appropriately delegating to staff. Eighth, establishing apprenticeship among the staff to deliver experiential know-how. Research limitations/implications – From a dynamic capability perspective, this research construct the two kinds of marketing competences and examine their effect on market orientation and firm performance. For further understanding the complementary effects of marketing capabilities, market orientation, and synergistic performance, a larger sample data (e.g. product, market share, sales, characteristics of staff, firm, and knowledge, etc.) and objective evaluation are encouraged. Otherwise, from the viewpoint of agency theory, the incentive system should also be discussed. Practical implications – This research has potentially significant implications for knowledge management and marketing management fields as well as managerial practice. The results suggest the importance of marketing capability for market orientation and firm performance. Originality/value – Marketing resources and marketing capabilities are significant drivers of firm performance, and their impact is greater when they are complementary to each other. This study takes the perspectives of organizational capabilities and market orientation to find out the factors which contribute to marketing capability and performance. This study provides practitioners with a framework for analyzing marketing capabilities as an object of improving firm performance by creating market orientation. Furthermore, this research empirically introduced strategic specific competence (tacit knowledge and autonomy) into the model and tests their effect of market orientation and firm performance.
