Abstract:
Literární kritika vědeckou fantastiku většinou ostentativně přehlíží, přitom H. G. Wellse, Isaaca Asimova, Roberta A. Heinleina, Raye Bradburyho či Arthura C. Clarka aj. lze jen stěží označit za bezvýznamné pisálky ... Na konci šedesátých let minulého století, konkrétně v roce 1968, publikovala Zhang Xiaofeng 張曉風v deníku Zhongguo Shibao《中國時報》China Times povídku Panduna《潘渡娜》Pandora. Ta je považována za první dílo taiwanské vědecko-fantastické prózy. V sedmdesátých a osmdesátých letech 20. století pak vědecko-fantastická literatura na Taiwanu zaznamenala bouřlivý rozvoj: byla uveřejňována v denících a časopisech, publikována ve vydavatelstvích, byly zakládány vědecko-fantastické časopisy, vyhlašovány první literární soutěže pro autory vědecké fantastiky a udělovány první ceny. Současně vznikaly první kritické práce a objevili se i první významní autoři vědecko-fantastické literatury, například Huang Hai 黄海 či Zhang Xiguo 張系國aj. Dvacet let vývoje taiwanské vědecké fantastiky ukončila na počátku devadesátých let 20. století vlna amerických vědecko-fantastických filmů. Počátky, rozvoj a úpadek vědecko-fantastické literatury na Taiwanu je proto jako ukončený jev možno popsat i analyzovat. Její historie je téměř u konce, a tak můžeme nejen hodnotit její význam, ale zároveň ji i srovnat s vývojem nejvlivnější vědecko-fantastické literatury na světě – americké vědecké fantastiky. Popis vývoje a toto srovnání jsou hlavním záměrem tohoto příspěvku.

Abstract:
The master thesis deals with life and work of Ivo Klimeš (*1932), significant Czech architect from Ostrava. The aim of the thesis is to introduce creative work of Ivo Klimeš in the field of theater architecture since the first projects to its mature formation in the sixties and the seventies of the twentieth century, including unrealized designs, while taking to account the circumstances of his era. Ivo Klimeš was the one of the few architects who escaped the routine work within the Planning Institute and so he was able to design extraordinary buildings. As the most significant project is considered the Municipal Theater in Most, which in architectural expression applies brutalism and structuralism tendencies and is to be belonged to the most important cultural buildings of the second half of the twentieth century in the Czech Republic. Correspondingly, it is also a unique building of Jiří Myron Theatre in Ostrava, which was strongly influenced by Scandinavian architecture of Alvar Aalto. Ivo Klimes through his projects responded to the needs of the contemporary scenographic practice and from the beginning stressed the importance of innovation in creating theater spaces. Key concepts to him became the variability and the work with a stage space.

Abstract:
The thesis focuses on the Czech architect Zdeňěk Kuna and a selection of his projects and plans from the 1960s and 1970s. These include the Prague office buildings of Motokov, Strojimport and Omnipol, the east stand of the Strahov stadium, the Permanent Representation of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in Milan and Hotel Horal in Špindlerův Mlýn. His works are presented in the cultural and historical context of Czechoslovakia in the 1960s and 1970s. The buildings and their interiors are not only formally described, the thesis also focuses on their contribution to the urban environment and the technologies used. The main principles of Kuna's work and the way he conceives of architecture are covered, as well as his sources of inspiration.

Abstract:
Principal message of this thesis is to introduce designer Pavel Pánek putting him into proper historical context and to reveal some of his unpublished designs or sketches which are hidden to the eye of wider audience. First chapter is fully devoted to the concise history of technique of pressing glass and mention is made of so called pressing ring playing important role in it. One of the sections contains in brief Pavel Pánek's biography where some moments of crucial importance are underlined. Most important part is that, which provides with account of Pánek's works that I found either interesting or crucial for the development of pressed glass. At the beginning of the description of each piece brief description of used technology is added. I am striving to emphasize Pánek's inexhaustible inventiveness and knowledge of techniques that eventually gave rise to some of his best pieces ever. It appears that in some way Pánek was to a certain extent predestined to grow into a sculptor of great providence especially for the sake of his vocational education. Due to the fact Pánek's personality faces false accusation of plagiarism and theft of foreign invention nowadays I had to include apologetic chapter in it. Abstract:
The topic of this thesis borders librarianship, archival science and literary history - it is a synthesis of several interests and views of the subject. Censorship was a powerful regime tool in the ČSR or the ČSSR and many writers were prevented of publishing any of their work. The thesis deals not only with books, which have been labeled in dictionaries as destroyed despite of their existence. It describes how the turning point between the 1960s and 1970s was manifested in libraries, book shops and secondhand bookstores; what the publishing practice of that time was like, or how the contemporaries that worked in the industry comment on the mentioned time period. Furthermore, the thesis explains what happened to the books that had been banned overnight, what the Editorial Board's practice was like, and finally, what working with banned books involved. A part of the thesis consists of outlining the political background including presentation of the list of books that were not allowed to be published, had to be withdrawn, or the whole edition "dissapeared". How many of such books can readers today actually hold in their hands?
