The popularity of Pegida and success of the Alternative for Germany has raised the question of how Germany should respond to the New Right. This article argues that reading in archives has emerged as a sociopolitical act of resistance against far-right movements, and that archival reading across time, borders, and media has turned into a strategy to defend democratic ideals. As the New Right’s rise also originates in an archival investment to control public opinion and policy, the practice of archivally reading today’s far right shows that contemporary Germany is in the midst of renegotiating

The principle of provenance is one of the most important milestones in archival practice and theory from the time its establishment grounded the scientific dimension of archival discipline in the nineteenth century. Since then, provenance and document context have supported the organization of archival knowledge (especially through classification and description procedures). Such relationships were gradually refined over the years and from different experiences between European archives and their classification and ordering systems. Conceptually, archival exhibition is not a part of core functions of an archival organization. However, it could give an enormous benefit for the community when it could transform archives from just a source of information into a source of knowledge. This study elaborates principles and ideal stages that should be conducted by archival institution in organizing archival exhibitions so that it could give knowledge to the audiences. It focuses on a proper achival management approach in conducting archival exhibition rather than other aspects such as design or estetique.

The removal of archives from one country to another is always likely to be controversial, however, and even well-intentioned attempts at “archival rescue” in the past have been strongly criticized. Our approach emphasizes the close relationship between the geometric shape of human locomotion in goal-directed movements and the simplified kinematic model of a wheeled mobile robot. This kind of system has been extensively studied in robotics community. From a kinematic perspective, the characteristic of this wheeled robot is the nonholonomic constraint of the wheels on the floor, which forces the vehicle to move tangentially to its main axis. In recent years, historiographical reflection has devoted more and more attention to the rela- tionship between the exercise of power and the processes of production/management of doc- uments, understood as real instruments of government, capable of guaranteeing the correct functioning of the administrative apparatus of kingdoms, principalities, republics and lord- ships, more or less extensive. The essay investigates one of the most important noble archives of the fifteenth-century Southern Italy, the archive of the Prince of Taranto, Giovanni Antonio Orsini del Balzo, which over time has been invested by a vast process of dispersion. The fundamental objective is to take stock of the most consistent core of documents, coming from the principality of Taranto, and merged into the fond of the Regia Camera della Sommaria of the Archivio di Stato of Naples.
