Abstract:

The article looks at some aspects of Yugoslav-Italian economic relations from the end of the First World War to the beginning of the Great Depression. Those relations were not always driven by pure economic interests, but they also had political and strategic aims. Although Yugoslav-Italian political and diplomatic relations were well served in both Serbian/Yugoslav and Italian historiography, little has been written about economic relations between the two countries. Therefore, the article is mainly based on the documents from the Central State Archives (Archivio centrale dello Stato) and Historical-Diplomatic Archives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Archivio storico-diplomatico del Ministero degli Affari Esteri) in Rome, as well as from the Archives of Yugoslavia (Arhiv Jugoslavije) in Belgrade.

Este trabajo actualiza y amplía el conocimiento sobre la cofradía de Nostra Dona de Montserrat de Roma, fundada en 1506. Reconstruye sus características y las de la comunidad que la compuso durante la etapa inicial. Focaliza en quiénes se encargaron de su gobierno, proporcionando datos biográficos y analizando su repercusión en el desarrollo del patrimonio. Para ello se ha realizado una consulta detallada de los testimonios documentales conservados en el Archivo de la Obra Pía –Establecimientos Españoles en Italia, en diálogo con la bibliografía existente y con otras fuentes procedentes del Archivio Storico Capitolino di Roma, Archivio di Stato di Roma y Archivio Segreto Vaticano. El objetivo es contribuir a una mejor comprensión de la evolución de estas instituciones y de la comunidad de la Corona de Aragón en Roma, así como confirmar su relevancia en el contexto sociocultural romano y mediterráneo.

Abstract:

Il saggio fornisce un'introduzione storica sul saggio di Emanuele Ciaceri, La festa di Sant'Agata e l'antico culto di Iside in Catania, edito sull'«Archivio Storico per la Sicilia Orientale» nel 1905 e riproposto in questo fascicolo. Ne vengono ricostruite le linee interpretative e le fonti utilizzate, così come l'impatto storiografico. L'indagine dello studioso siciliano rimane una lezione di mestiere, per le raffinate competenze filologiche, storiche e archeologiche messe in campo nell'elaborazione della sua tesi sulla festa etnea. Sicuramente il suo orientamento conservatore, che si concretizzerà più avanti nell'adesione al fascismo, ne ha condizionato in termini ideologici l'orizzonte teorico, determinando in larga misura i risultati delle sue ricerche.

Nel presente contributo l'autore indaga sulle fonti conservate negli archivi italiani (Archivio di Stato di Siena, Archivio centrale dello Stato, Roma, Archivio dell'Ufficio storico dello Stato Maggiore dell'esercito) relative ai crimini di guerra commessi nella provincia di Siena nel biennio 1943-1944 dalle forze armate tedesche e repubblicane. I crimini cosě individuati sono stati suddivisi in base alla tipologia di appartenenza (omicidio, ferimento, stupro, rastrellamento, danneggiamento di proprietŕ privata e pubblica, requisizione di beni privati e pubblici) e in modo diacronico, secondo tre fasi. La prima fase include i crimini commessi dal settembre 1943 al marzo 1944, nella quale č protagonista la violenza fascista; la seconda fase comprende i rastrellamenti antipartigiani svoltisi nel marzo del 1944; la terza, i crimini commessi durante la ritirata tedesca nell'estate del 1944. I dati raccolti hanno ricostruito l'intreccio di violenze e politica di sfruttamento al quale concorsero non solo le forze armate tedesche, ma anche quelle della Repubblica sociale italiana.

Abstract:

The author of polish origin, sets the political determinants of Moldovan Csango identity in a historical perspective. Her study’s outcome is based on her documentation work made in the Vatican Secret Archives (Archivio Segreto Vaticano) as well as at the Saint Congregation for Evangelization (Archivio Storico della Congregazione per l”Evanghelizazzione dei Popoli), till now a missing body of documents within csango studies. In her paper the author focuses on the political forces that affected identity change among the Csangos, embracing the period from 1860 to 1916. The insightful conclusion of the study unravells a Vatican who’s worries for it’s own influence in an orthodox country like Romania, though aware of its subjects true needs, make it accept conditions set by the Romanian Government, and with it’s own catholicism-disseminating actions finally contributed to the linguistic, religious and cultural „meeting process” of both the Csango and Romanian population

The four brief papers following below continue the line of reports on the archival finds of the Western migrants to the Genoese overseas colony of Caffa from outside Liguria in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, previously published in Archivio Storico Messinese,1 Rassegna Storica Salernitana,2 Studi Piemontesi,3 Studi veneziani,4 and Atti della Società Ligure di Storia Patria.5 The main sources researched for these studies are Caffae Massariae – the public books of accounts of the treasury of the Commune of Caffa drawn by the officers called massarii. These officers were annually rotated and sent from metropolis (Genoa) to its colony (Caffa). Caffae Massariae reflect money transactions and operations of the treasury in the double-entry bookkeeping system. The sources are stored in the archival section of the Bank of Saint George.6 Since Caffae Massariae quote (directly or indirectly) all those city inhabitants, who did with the administration any kind of financial transaction, they reflect the main flows of Latin migration from the West to the overseas Eastern colonies.

Il fondo librario e le carte di Hubert Jedin sono conservati presso la Biblioteca della Fondazione Bruno Kessler di Trento. Nel ripercorrere i passi di Jedin negli anni in cui si veniva a formare l'Istituto Storico Italo-Germanico e le vicende conservative dei suoi libri e del suo archivio dopo la sua morte, l'articolo mostra l'importanza di questi fondi per la ricerca sulla storiografia del XX secolo; grazie alla varietà del materiale conservato è possibile soprattutto ricostruire l'ampio network scientifico e il metodo di lavoro dello storico. In particolare, un manoscritto inedito sulla biblioteca di Carlo Borromeo conservato nel Fondo Jedin consente di gettare luce su aspetti ancora poco indagati della sua ricerca, ovvero gli interessi in materia di storia culturale e del libro dello storico del Concilio e il rapporto con Paolo Prodi negli anni in cui entrambi svilupparono i loro studi sui Borromeo.

Abstract The Archivio Storico Ricordi holds the historical records of one of the most important music publisher of all times. For almost two hundred years, beyond their main business as music publishers, the Ricordis were also impresarios, agents, and cultural organisers, and played a central and unique mediating role within Italian musical life. This role is very well documented by some 30,000 autograph letters addressed to Casa Ricordi by composers, writers, librettists, singers, and conductors, and an impressive and neatly ordered collection of around 600,000 sent letters. The whole collection will be published online bit by bit. The goal of the project is to connect the letters not only with the relevant records of the Ricordi archive (ledgers, contracts, stage designs, scores, pictures...), but also with other music archives over the web.

Abstract:

The purpose of this essay is to offer a contribution to the process of Levantinization of the Catholic community of Izmir, between the late seventeenth and the early eighteenth century. The first part of the paper is about the detection of how the term Levantine has been used, both historically and by historiography, while the second is focused on the Catholic missionaries of Izmir, depicted in their daily dealings with individuals and groups of different religions. Their responses to inter-religious coexistence as a process of adaptation, promote the idea of ‘functional tolerance’ not necessarily supported by a theoretical discourse about its value. The interaction of the missionaries and their Catholic parishioners sees the emergence of a new hybridized mentality, the actual agent that forms the basis of the Levantine identity. The original archival sources for this paper are the missionaries‘ letters from the Archivio Storico De Propaganda Fide.

Abstract. Digital and spatial techniques, such as reality-based surveying and 3D modelling, have long been used in archaeology. However, in recent years the use of these techniques has gained importance also in the history of architecture, a discipline in which these data can help to interpret traditionally used, but often incomplete, written sources (Tucci et al. 2021; Fiorini et al. 2023).This paper is about an aspect of the eighteenth-century renovations of Palazzo Vecchio. It focuses attention on a small terrace that runs alongside the exterior facade of the Sala dei Cinquecento and to which there is no entrance. The question this paper seeks to answer is: why during eighteenth-century renovations it was decided to exclude the existing entrance to the terrace from the accessible spaces? Using geomatics techniques, it has been possible to identify the location of the enclosed spaces in relation to other parts of the building (Tucci, 2017).In accordance with the criteria of Spatial Humanities, the present research is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach based on the analysis and interpretation of data obtained from archival sources (Archivio Storico Comunale di Firenze, Fototeca Comunale di Firenze, Archivio Centrale di Stato di Roma, Archivio di Stato di Firenze, Gabinetto fotografico degli Uffizi, Catalogo Generale Beni Culturali, Biblioteca Nazionale), the consultation of relevant published iconographic sources in libraries, and the interpretation of 3D data and architectural elements discovered during the onsite survey of the area between the inner and outer southern façades of the Sala dei Cinquecento.The first part of this essay focus on the southern façade of the Sala dei Cinquecento and aims to demonstrate to what extent the Carlo Falconieri’s modification altered the general appearance of the façade. The second part, aims to clarify the architectural phases or aspects of the southern façade of the Sala dei Cinquecento before Falconieri’s works.

En este texto se analiza el tema de la propaganda fascista en Ecuador, dirigida por un lado a la opinión pública y al gobierno ecuatoriano y por otro al grupo italiano que vivía en Ecuador en el periodo que va, desde la toma del poder en Italia por parte de Mussolini (1922), hasta la víspera de la segunda guerra mundial (1938). El objetivo de este artículo es analizar cuestiones relativas a la inmigración proveniente de un país totalitario, tratando de abordar dos nudos: en primer lugar, el de la relación entre el fascismo y la sociedad ecuatoriana, y en segundo lugar el de los mecanismos de consenso que se impulsan a través de la propaganda, su actividad y sus logros o fracasos entre los inmigrantes italianos, y entre la élite y la sociedad ecuatoriana de la época. El estudio se apoyará en la documentación proveniente, en su mayoría, del Archivio Storico Diplomatico de Roma y del Archivo Histórico Alfredo Pareja Diezcanseco del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Quito.

Abstract:

Drawing on official documents filed at the First Historical Archives in Beijing, and on missionary correspondence located at the Archivio storico ‘de Propaganda Fide’ in Rome, this paper will focus on printed manifestations of popular Christianity during the mid-Qing period. It will argue that, following the exclusion of foreign missionaries after the imperial edict of 1724, tendencies towards inculturation accelerated. Early nineteenth-century sources reveal that the Christian villagers were well aware of the fact that they had preserved but a fraction of what the foreign priests had introduced several generations earlier, yet the sheer memory of their ancestors’ faith was sufficient to provide the religious and social cohesion which characterized Christian life during the eighteenth century. While developing into a syncretic expression of a belief originally introduced by European missionaries, popular Chinese Christianity absorbed elements of other religious systems, mainly popular Daoism and Buddhist millenarianism, as well as ‘Confucian’ patterns of social morality. The spiritual writings memorized and passed from generation to generation in semi-literate rural communities played an important part in the formation of a new, Christian expression of popular religiosity.

Entre la segunda mitad del siglo XVI y los primeros años del siglo XVII Lavinia Pedralbes, las hermanas Beatriz y Livia Fernández, Mariana de las Cuevas y otras mujeres españolas tuvieron que enfrentarse a procesos y denuncias ante el tribunal del Sant’Ufficio en la ciudad de Nápoles. Aunque los delitos por los que las acusaron no fueron los mismos, todas ellas fueron protagonistas de una serie de dinámicas que nos ayudan a entender desde diferentes puntos la experiencia de las mujeres que emigraron de España a Nápoles. A partir de la documentación que se conserva principalmente en el Archivio Storico Diocesano di Napoli, se ofrece un análisis comparativo a este fenómeno, atendiendo también a los elementos que facilitaron la circulación, el encuentro y el conocimiento entre mujeres con diferentes orígenes geográficos, creencias y estatus.

The Jewish community archive in Pisa owns a vast collection of documents and manuscripts that date back centuries. These documents contain valuable genealogical information, including birth, marriage, and death records. This paper aims to describe the preliminary results of the Archivio Storico della Comunita Ebraica di Pisa (ASCEPI) project, with a focus on the extraction of data from the Nati, Morti e Ballottati (NMB) Registry document in the archive. The NMB Registry contains about 1900 records of births, deaths, and balloted individuals within the Jewish community in Pisa. The study uses a semiautomatic pipeline of digitization, transcription, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to extract personal data such as names, surnames, birth and death dates, and parental names from each record. The extracted data are then used to build a knowledge base and a genealogical tree for a representative family, Supino. This study demonstrates the potential of using NLP and rule-based techniques to extract valuable information from historical documents and to construct genealogical trees.

Abstract:

Abstract This paper focuses on the analysis of unpublished documents from volume number 0457 of the Archivio Storico della Comunità Ebrea of Pisa (Italy), the oldest atti civili mammotrect preserved (1660‒1691). In the first critical approach to this corpus, Ariza (2015) studied the letters and their possible phonetic implications, but his work considered the linguistic features of the Pisa book in overall terms. This contribution focuses on the study of the letters from the comparison of different documents, once their 16 authors have been identified. The study is structured in five sections corresponding to the most frequent phenomena, namely, vacillation of unstressed vowels, especially between e / i; the loss of /h/ < Lat. f-, reflected in the lack of the letter h; the merger of voiced bilabials as proof of the use of b for v; and the confusion between /s/ and /θ/ [i.e. seseo]; finally, the merger of /r/ and /ɲ/, two innovations in Judeo-Spanish (Penny 2000). The main goal is to explain to what extent the preserved texts reflect the phonetic variation of the Hebrew community of Pisa in the second half of the 17th century.

ABSTRACTThis article explores the connection between the castellated façade of Montepulciano’s Palazzo Comunale and Florence’s development into a territorial state in the mid-fifteenth century. In 1440, the comune of Montepulciano commissioned a new façade for its town hall from the prominent Florentine architect Michelozzo. While scholars have widely accepted Michelozzo’s design as an imitation of Florence’s Palazzo della Signoria, hitherto unpublished documents preserved in Montepulciano’s Biblioteca Comunale e Archivio Storico ’Piero Calamandrei’ enable further interpretation of the town hall’s fortress-like profile from a geopolitical and military perspective. According to the new textual evidence, Montepulciano maintained a close cooperation with the Dieci di Balìa — Florence’s war committee — from the late 1430s onwards and contributed to its military efforts against Milan, which climaxed in the battle of Anghiari the same year that the façade renovation was initiated. In view of Florence’s decisive victory in the battle, this article argues that the familiar castellated appearance of the new façade was a celebratory manifestation of the city’s military pride and that this was shared by the town. The architecture of the town hall can also be seen as testifying to the role played by castellation in expressing Florence’s territorial ideology.

Abstract:

The Ethiopian magic scrolls are traditional parchment artifacts used by the Christians of Ethiopia as protection against disease and demonic possessions. On the occasion of their restoration in the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Bologna (Italy); a preliminary characterization before the treatments has been performed on four Ethiopian scrolls belonging to the Archivio storico della provincia di Cristo Re dei Frati Minori dell’Emilia Romagna of Bologna (Italy). In order to plan an effective preservative restoration procedure and; at the same time; to investigate the manufacturing techniques; the text and the decorations on the magic scrolls were studied and characterized. A combined approach by imaging and compositional techniques was used: Infrared Reflectography (IRR) for the preliminary characterization of the graphic supports and the identification of the points to sample the chemical measurements; and the spectroscopic analyses to clarify the hypothesized investigations and confirm the chemical composition of the inks. In particular; Attenuated Total Reflectance-Fourier Transform Infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy has provided information relating to the molecular composition of inks and pigments; while a characterization of the constituent elements is obtained with the Ion Beam Analysis (IBA). The ink composition proved to be consistent with data generally documented in the literature and contributing to the expansion of knowledge on Ethiopian magic scrolls and their production.

This work focuses on the study of the four schools for povere zitelle (girls from low-income families) that were founded by Peter Leopold of Habsburg-Lorraine (1747-1792) in Florence between 1778 and 1781, when he was the Grand Duke of Tuscany. They were named Scuole Leopoldine (Leopoldine Schools) after him and were evidence of his reforming policy, as he was one of the emblematic figures of the enlightened reform. The schools were located in each of the four historic quarters of the city: Santa Caterina school (via delle Ruote), the first in opening its doors on 1 June 1778; San Salvadore school (via di Camaldoli), which started functioning on 1780; San Giorgio school (Corso dei Tintori, numbers 36 and 36ª), which was created in the summer of 1780; and San Paolo school (piazza Santa Maria Novella), which opened up on 19 March 1781. This paper is based on consulting the documentary resources on the Scuole Leopoldine held in the Archivio Storico del Comune in Florence. Specifically, the analysis focuses on the training programme implemented by the Grand Duke in these centres, where girls could receive free primary education and train on hand needlework to build a future through a profession (which gave these schools a practical and functional purpose). The transformation of this institution, which remained until 1976, at an organisational and administrative level, is also examined.

È considerato il padre fondatore della psicosocioanalisi, disciplina volta alla comprensione degli aspetti in-consci e conflittuali nello sviluppo degli individui, dei gruppi e della società. Questo progetto di ricerca intende ricostruire le vicende biografiche di Luigi Pagliarani nella convinzione che esse abbiano svolto un ruolo decisivo nella genesi dei suoi interessi scientifici. Per raggiungere tale obiettivo è necessario esaminare molti documenti inedi-ti di notevolissimo valore storico conservati presso l'Archivio Luigi Pagliarani – oggi situato all'interno del "Centro di documentazione e ricerca" della clinica psichiatrica di Mendrisio. I diversi periodi della vita di Pagliarani – riportati alla luce per mezzo di un approfondito lavoro filologico – confluiranno in una biografia ragionata, umana e intellettuale, che sia riflesso ed espressione dell'Archivio. La biografia dialogherà con un apparato di immagini e un piccolo catalogo digitale dei documenti più significativi. Abstract This introduction to the thematic section “Making Sense of Archives” explores different archival terrains in Southeastern Europe. It discusses the politics of storage against the background of the processes of professionalization in the archival field, the provenance of funding for both storing and digitalizing archival collections, and the chronic lack of archival personnel. The author makes a plea for critical engagement with archival spaces by explicating the logics of the archiving processes of documents of different kinds and the dimensions of power immanent to them. Moreover, she argues that scholars need to reflect more critically on archivists’ mediating interventions, including appraisal, arrangement, processing, and description as a necessary complement to applied source criticism. Lastly, she locates the thematic section’s contributions within broader themes in the archival field, including knowledge management and blind spots in archives, the archival turn, the potentials and pitfalls of visual archives, and the study of documents as archival artefacts.

The archiving process at the Pengadilan Tinggi Agama Palembang was still manual, where archive officers must prepare storage areas, sort and classify archives, put files into folders, and create archival data. The increasing number of archives and piling up in storage space makes searching for archives difficult and takes a long time in the process of searching for the required archives. The purpose of this research is to improve the existing system by designing a web-based archiving digitization application. In this research, the system development stage uses the Rational Unified Process (RUP) method with an application development framework using CodeIgniter. Based on the test results using the blackbox testing method, the system can display information on the decision archives graphically, the archive search process quickly, downloads the decision archive documents digitally, digital documents that have been separated by archive type and archive year, so it can be concluded that the archival information system with the application of information technology can facilitate work in processing, storing, reporting to obtain information and can then be used for decision making.

The article is to show the organization of archiving in the Komi region in the 1920s. Thus, the following tasks have been solved: considering the conditions for formation of the regional archive and archives of organizations, their activities in acquisition and preservation of archival materials, role of regional and uezd authorities in the management of archives. A number of fundamental works are devoted to the history of national archiving formation in the 1920s; however, the organization of archiving in various regions has been studied insufficiently. The relevance of the study is enhanced by the Komi Republic archiving celebrating its centenary anniversary in 2022. The accumulated historical experience can be successfully applied today. This is especially true of the period under study, when the foundations of archiving were laid out, documents actively collected, criteria for interaction between the authorities and archival institutions determined. The article draws on published and unpublished sources deposited in the fonds of the National Archive of the Komi Republic. They are well known to researchers; however, a number of documents have not yet been presented to scholars, these are being introduced into scientific use for the first time. In addition to archival sources, published sources have also been used. In 1922, the Komi Regional Archive was opened in Ust-Sysolsk (Syktyvkar). One of the reasons for the appearance of the first archival institution in the Komi region was the first decrees and resolutions of the Soviet government in the field of archiving. The local history movement played an important role, as well as enthusiasm of some representatives of the national intelligentsia. The opening of the archive was accompanied by certain difficulties: there was practically no funding, not enough qualified personnel, etc. Only by the end of the studied period, the situation improved somewhat: district archives were opened, training of archival workers began. Considering the organization of archiving in the Komi region in the 1920s, it should be noted that archival construction began, the regional archive was acquiring and describing documents, measures were taken to preserve unique sources and to use documents for the purposes of national economic. At the same time, there was no archiving in organizations and institutions, no conditions for storing documents, almost no personnel.

From the perspective of sound studies and media history this article explores approaches to analogue archives coming from the fi elds of sound art and media art. The authors analyse works of art by two contemporary artists from Berlin and Aarhus focussing on archival practices of storing and retrieving: Marianthi Papalexandri-Alexandri and Morten Riis. What is actually (not merely metaphorically) ‘stored’, ‘inscribed’ or ‘archived’ in and subsequently ‘retrieved’, ‘read’ or even ‘decoded’ from a certain sound artwork? From this starting point the individual artistic practices, the research strategies and the new and surprising ways of archiving and retrieving as invented and refi ned by Papalexandri-Alexandri and Riis are described and analysed. The observed artistic practices, the authors argue, converge in the direction of sonic affordances inherent in the material instruments or storage media: These affordances are stored and retrieved, as they represent the tacit grooves of sound art.

The main purpose of the article is to divide the web preservation process into small explicable stages and design a step-by-step web preservation process that leads to creating a well-organized web archive. A number of research articles are studied about web preservation projects and web archives, and designed a step-by-step systematic approach for web preservation. The proposed comprehensive web preservation process describes and combines strengths of different techniques observed during the study for preserving digital web contents into a digital web archive. For each web preservation step, different approaches and possible implementation techniques have been identified that can be adopted in digital archiving. The potential value of the proposed model is to guide the archivist, related personnel, and organizations to effectively preserved their intellectual digital contents for future use. Moreover, the model can help to initiate a web preservation process and create a well-organized web archive to efficiently manage the archived web contents. A section briefly describes the implementation of the proposed approach in a digital news stories preservation framework for archiving news published online from different sources.

Abstract:

This article discusses previously undocumented examples of music for the old Beneventan divine office in a manuscript housed in the Archivio Storico Diocesano in Naples (Cod. Misc. 1, fasc. VII). The breviary, which was copied at the scriptorium of Santa Sofia, Benevento, in 1161, transmits two unica—canticle antiphons for the feast of St. Mercurius—in Beneventan style. It also preserves a Beneventan-style antiphon for the Holy Twelve Brothers of Benevento that is not transmitted in previously published sources of Beneventan chant. The discovery of music in Beneventan style for St. Mercurius is of importance to the history of the old Beneventan rite, as it attests to the continued production of the distinctive formulaic style of the Beneventan rite into the later eighth century. The relics of Mercurius, a military saint of Byzantium, were enshrined at the altar of Santa Sofia at Benevento in 768, and Mercurius was adopted as patron of the court, the church of Santa Sofia, and the city of Benevento. Despite the establishment of the cult of St. Mercurius in the second half of the eighth century, until now no musical record has indicated the presence of old Beneventan music for this feast (there is no extant Beneventan mass proper for Mercurius, and the documented sources for the divine office preserve only Romano-Beneventan or neo-Gregorian-style music). I consider the St. Mercurius antiphons within the context of the musical style of the old Beneventan rite and argue that they should be included in the Beneventan canon on the basis of musical style. As pitch-specific exemplars of the distinctive formulaic style of the Beneventan chant, this source is of particular value to the study of Beneventan pitch and modality. Notated in fully heightened Beneventan neumes on a staff line, these antiphons are among the few surviving witnesses of the old Beneventan repertory that preserve the distinctive modal properties of the repertory in pitch-specific notation. I introduce the music of these antiphons and consider their importance as witnesses to the continued production and copying of Beneventan music from the late eighth to the twelfth centuries.

The Ujung Tanah District Office's archive management has not gone as planned. The Ujung Tanah District Office does not yet have a dedicated archivist. This study's problem is the types of archives, the role of archives, organizing archives, archive storage systems, archive storage procedures, archive maintenance, archive security, equipment, archive equipment, and archive destruction, as well as the efforts made to overcome problems at the Ujung Tanah District Office in Makassar City. This study employs a qualitative approach. Researchers used interviews, observation, and documentation to collect data. The researcher's data analysis model employs the Miles and Huberman analysis model, in which the analysis is carried out continuously until a saturation point is reached. Based on indicators of the archive storage system, the process of storing and using archives, archive equipment and supplies, and archive depreciation, the results showed that the management of archives in the Ujung Tanah sub-district office in supporting administrative orders was carried out properly. The Ujung Tanah District Office's archive management faced several challenges, including a lack of archiving staff and inadequate knowledge of archives and archive storage facilities.

The problem statement. The introduction and widespread use of the latest technologies for storing and disseminating information, which significantly improves the quality and efficiency of archivists, provides the fastest access to the archives of ordinary citizens and researchers from around the world is an urgent task in archiving. The purpose of the research is to analyze the theoretical developments of the leading specialists of archival affairs of Ukraine on the latest trends in the introduction of digitization tools in domestic archives in the context of genealogical research. The methodology. The methodological basis of the study were general scientific principles (complexity, systematics and comprehensiveness of knowledge) and general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, generalization). The leading role was played by source studies methods (critical, heuristic), the application of which made it possible to identify the information possibilities of sources and comprehensively process materials. The results. Analysis of research on the formation, development and implementation of information technology as an effective tool in the archival field in general and genealogical research in archives in particular, shows the significant achievements of domestic scientists in studying this issue. Thanks to the active development and introduction of information technology, new opportunities are emerging to learn about one’s origins and history. It is information technology and general digitalization that enable the average Ukrainian to find all the information about their ancestors without leaving home 24/7. The scientific novelty. Theoretical developments of the leading specialists of archival affairs of Ukraine on the latest trends in the introduction of digitization tools in domestic archives in the context of genealogical research are analyzed. We divided the total source base of the chosen research topic into three groups. The first group includes regulations on the archives of Ukraine: the Constitution of Ukraine; laws of Ukraine relating to archives; organizational and administrative documents in the field of record keeping and archiving. The second group includes scientific publications on certain topics in archival science and archival affairs, source studies: dissertations and dissertation abstracts; monographs; textbooks and manuals; scientific articles; materials of scientific, scientific-practical conferences; dictionaries, etc. The third group consisted of information resources in the field of genealogy. Conclusions. The rapid introduction of information technology, the development of the electronic environment as an integral part of the innovative development of the state, encourages archival institutions to modernize while studying, mastering and adapting to the Ukrainian realities of world experience. The generally accepted guidelines of the information society are the introduction of computer and telecommunication technologies, the development of information interaction on this basis at all levels of communication (from international to regional), which will further lead to the formation of a single effective national information space.

Abstract:

ABSTRACT PT. Sintech Berkah Abadi is one of the providers of software solutions in the global market, providing business-based and high-tech solutions for customers throughout Indonesia. At present in terms of archiving data that is accessed is still using a manual system and not yet computerized, the process of searching for archives is quite time consuming and making reports still uses Microsoft Excel. This study aims to design a web-based archival classification information system to make it easier to manage file management properly. In this study using data collection methods namely observation, interviews and literature study. In the system analysis method used is the SWOT analysis, the design method used is Extreme Programming (XP). The results of the system design by using a web-based system can facilitate users in inputting data, storing data, searching for data, and making more accurate archive reports, so that archiving can run effectively and efficiently.
