Abstract:

<i>Myanmymar aresconoides</i> <b>gen n., sp. n.</b> is described from one female in Burmese amber, dated as about 100 my. It is similar to <i>Arescon</i> on wing features but is unique among Mymaridae indistinctly segmented palpi. It is the fifth mymarid genus definitely referable to the Cretaceous period. A key to Cretaceous mymarid genera is presented and the features of <i>Myanmymar</i> are compared with the other Cretaceous and extant mymarid genera.

Fairyfly (Hymenoptera, Mymaridae) egg parasitoids of the tea green leafhopper Empoasca (Matsumurasca) onukii Matsuda (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae), an economically important pest in Asia of the tea plant, Camellia sinensis, were identified from specimens reared in Japan. In the title ylide, C31H28ClO2P [common name α-acetyl-α-p-chlorobenzoylmethylenetri(p-tolyl)phosphorane], the dihedral angle between the 4-chlorophenyl ring and that of the ylide moiety is 66.15 (10)°.
