Armor porosity and armor unit randomness are much easier to control in small-scale models constructed by hand than in prototype. Differences between design and prototype armor porosities and design and armor unit randomness can generate significant model effects. This paper describes realistic 3D placement tests with cube and Cubipod CAUs, using a small-scale crawler crane and pressure clamps. This research aims to estimate workable armor porosities at prototype scale and to determine the prototype placement grids to obtain the armor porosities commonly tested in laboratories. Arbor, due to its original concept, has had recreational and pedagogical approaches which have exceeded expectations, throughout little more than one year of public exposure. The versatility of Arbor presented the authors with several new dimensions for interaction, exceeding the applicability initially imagined by its authors.

By weighting the criteria in a Kesselring matrix, we selected one of the proposals for further development. The main criteria we had to take into account were; the weight of the product, the a

This thesis argues for a number of fresh readings of and perspectives on Nabokov’s Ada. I am, however, equally interested in how Nabokov is read more generally, and argue against some of the worst habits of Nabokov scholarship to date. Nabokov’s own authority over how his works are to be read “correctly” is largely unquestioned by a great number of influential Nabokovians, chief among them Brian Boyd. Still, at least since Michael Wood’s The Magician’s Doubts, there has been enough work to challenge the author’s total authority over his own texts. Reading Nabokov with doubt, ambiguity, and eve

These materials sacrifice volumetric efficiency in order to realize a reduction in mass versus traditional armor materials, while maintaining equivalent ballistic performance. Abstract:
The Full Armor of God is a musical composition based on the apostle Paul's comparison in Ephesians 6:10-20 between armor for physical combat and armor for spiritual warfare. The instrumentation consists of the following: oboe/English horn, bassoon, two violins, viola, cello, and bass. Texts on Roman armor as well as commentaries and sermons on the scriptures were consulted for the basis of the musical materials. The piece combines imagery and historical associations with abstract renderings of both the physical and the spiritual.

Abstract Submarine AC cables generally have a metallic armor, constituted by one or two layers of wires or strips wound with long lay on the outside of the cable. The armor is required in order to sustain part of the mechanical stresses during the laying and recovery of the cable, since the conductor alone as a rule is not sufficient for this purpose. The armor also plays an important role in the conduction of the return current. Moreover, due to the large distance between the cables in usual submarine laying practice, the return current can be very large, approaching the central conductor cur
