An apparent P–O bond shortening with increasing oxidation is also observed across the series (1)–(3) (1.480(4), 1.351(4), 1.280(4) Å respectively) and is considered an artifact of the structure refinement. ABSTRACT Sequence analysis of a 9-kb genomic fragment of the actinobacterium Rhodococcus opacus 1CP led to identification of an open reading frame encoding a novel fusion protein, StyA2B, with a putative function in styrene metabolism via styrene oxide and phenylacetic acid. Gene cluster analysis indicated that the highly related fusion proteins of Nocardia farcinica IFM10152 and Arthrobacter aurescens TC1 are involved in a similar physiological process. Whereas 413 amino acids of the N terminus of StyA2B are highly similar to those of the oxygenases of two-component styrene monooxygenases (SM

The cyclic stannoxane obtained from N-methyldiethanolamine and dibutyltin oxide reacts with 1H-pyrazole-3,5-dicarbonyl dichloride to afford the new 26-membered diaza tetraester crown 3. In neutral medium, the above crown forms 1:2 solid dinuclear complexes with phenethylamine (3a) and homoveratrylamine (3b), which, after crystallization from acetonitrile, were isolated in high yield (90% and 85%, respectively). The 3, 3a, and 3b structures were identified from their analytical and spectroscopic (1H, 13C NMR, and MS (FAB)) data. The spectroscopic properties of 3a and 3b are demonstrating that,

Tryptophan is metabolized along three main metabolic pathways, namely the kynurenine, serotonin and indole pathways. The majority of tryptophan is transformed via the kynurenine pathway, catalyzed by tryptophan-2,3-dioxygenase or indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase, leading to neuroprotective kynurenic acid or neurotoxic quinolinic acid. Serotonin synthesized by tryptophan hydroxylase, and aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase enters the metabolic cycle: serotonin → N-acetylserotonin → melatonin → 5-methoxytryptamine→serotonin. Recent studies indicate that serotonin can also be synthesized by cytochrome

The famous Miller experiment to model the primordial soup demonstrated that amino acids can form spontaneously as the essential building blocks of life in solutions. It is, however, still an open question how self-recognition processes influence the transformation of these spontaneously formed amino acids in solvents into higher ordered structures in the solid state, thereby creating chiral materials and catalytically competent structures. The understanding of the first steps of molecular self-assembly processes in such environments will thus give important clues towards the understanding of b

The peculiarity of this approach is that there is no need for heat treatment of the material, since DDAO is removed by washing in alcohol.
