Abstract:

On s’intéresse à la matière qui constitue une peinture d’art, c’est-à-dire une succession de couches picturales déposées sur un support. Cet ensemble est complexe de par sa composition et sa géométrie (différentes couches superposées). Il est le siège de nombreux phénomènes physiques et chimiques qui apparaissent à plusieurs moments dans la vie de l’œuvre. Différents types de dégradations altèrent ou modifient la perception du tableau au cours du temps. Les craquelures sont parmi les plus apparentes. Leur étude permet de caractériser certaines propriétés mécaniques de la matière constituant la peinture et ainsi de révéler de nombreux secrets sur l’œuvre. Le réseau de craquelures constitue donc « l’empreinte digitale d’un tableau » et en cela peut aider à authentifier des œuvres.

Abstract:

Ce texte est le fruit d’un travail collaboratif où des acteurs-chercheurs développent leur capacité d’analyse à partir de leurs propres matériaux de vie. Le principe de la recherche-action est de répondre par l’expérimentation aux défis actuels d’une approche complexe des situations humaines tout en produisant de nouvelles connaissances. Ainsi nous n’exposons pas simplement dans ce texte des problématiques sur les enjeux d’un « art et d’une culture populaire », nous y apportons des éléments de réponse dans la manière même dont s’est élaboré ce travail. Nous avons essayé de systématiser cette approche au sein d’un « Laboratoire d’Innovation Sociale par la Recherche-Action ». Le LISRA est une plate-forme autonome et évolutive de travail coopératif et de mutualisation d’outils mis à la disposition des personnes désirant développer une démarche de recherche-action.

Abstract:

La méthanisation est un processus biologique de dégradation anaérobie de la matière organique, poursuivant deux buts principaux : une valorisation énergétique par la production de biogaz, composé en majorité de méthane (CH4) et de gaz carbonique (CO2), et une valorisation agronomique par la production de digestat (résidu organique liquide ou pâteux des déchets non digérés), riche en nutriments (azote, phosphore, potassium) et pouvant être utilisé comme fertilisant ou amendement (épandage direct ou compostage). La digestion anaérobie est un procédé complexe mettant en jeu de nombreux microorganismes. Pour qu’il soit efficace, des paramètres variés (température, pH, temps de séjour…) doivent être pris en compte, maîtrisés et suivis tout au long du processus. Il est également nécessaire de connaître les inhibiteurs de la méthanisation pouvant enrayer le processus. Comme tout procédé de traitement des déchets, la méthanisation est susceptible de générer, à chaque étape, de nombreux gaz et aérosols pouvant être délétères pour la santé des travailleurs potentiellement exposés. Cet article vise à rappeler le principe et le fonctionnement de la méthanisation, à répertorier les paramètres influant sur le procédé, les notions permettant de définir les caractéristiques du déchet entrant et les polluants délétères potentiellement émis au cours du procédé.

La présente étude se penche sur une oeuvre cardinale dans le champ du cinéma de found footage contemporain, soit Film ist. du cinéaste autrichien Gustav Deutsch. Oeuvre ouverte, véritable somme visuelle, Film ist. s’offre comme une tentative protéiforme de définition du cinéma en acte et par l’exemple. Face à cet objet complexe, l’auteur établit d’abord la nécessité d’une lecture rapprochée, qui fasse droit aux subtils et minutieux assemblages au travers desquels le film se constitue. Partant de là, il examine un segment précis de l’oeuvre, dans lequel le cinéaste, à partir d’images prélevées, pour l’essentiel, sur des films antérieurs à 1920, s’interroge de manière critique sur le cinéma comme instrument de conquête et, plus spécifiquement, sur les représentations de l’altérité véhiculées par ces images, en particulier dans le cinéma dit « ethnographique ». Une lecture rapprochée de cet échantillon de Film ist. permet de mettre en lumière, chez Deutsch, une véritable science du montage, qui s’appuie notamment sur la notion d’analogie visuelle, y compris entre des images apparemment très éloignées les unes des autres dans le spectre des représentations, mais entre lesquelles le cinéaste parvient à établir un dialogue souvent inattendu, particulièrement révélateur et hautement critique.

Abstract:

Le développement des technologies numériques au XXIe siècle engendre à la fois des bouleversements dans les champs cinématographique et audiovisuel, et dans le domaine psychanalytique. L’individu peut s’emparer de ces outils à notre époque, pour témoigner de son existence, et tenter d’inscrire son histoire personnelle, parfois intime, dans une histoire humaine globalisée. Dans un contexte où les images s’échangent à grande vitesse, en renseignant sans trêve toutes les crises qui agitent le monde, chaque sujet cherche à s’approprier sa propre histoire, et sa place parmi les autres. Donner un sens personnel à son existence serait aussi indispensable que complexe pour les sujets rescapés d’une histoire traumatique collective. Le travail psychique nécessaire pour y parvenir pourrait alors être soutenu par les qualités artistiques et techniques du film et par un accompagnement art-thérapique adapté. En s’appuyant sur un travail de médiation artistique réalisé avec deux jeunes femmes rescapées du Bataclan, l’auteure tente de montrer quelles sont les spécificités de la création vidéo et de son accompagnement dans le champ art-thérapique et en quoi ceux-ci favoriseraient une reconstruction personnelle.

Abstract:

Cet article explore quelques paradoxes qui font de l’art dramatique et du théâtre un médium puissant mais complexe pour l’enseignement et l’apprentissage. La question principale porte sur la vraie nature du dialogue en art dramatique et en pédagogie ainsi que sur les transferts relationnels ou de pouvoirs qui doivent avoir lieu entre l’enseignant et l’apprenant lorsqu’ils utilisent de façon implicite ou explicite la notion de « manteau de l’expert ». Certains exemples décrits et analysés sont issus de la propre expérience de l’auteur et visent à clarifier ces relations qui mènent à un autre paradoxe : si l’art dramatique peut conduire à une appropriation de l’autonomie, autant pour les enseignants que pour les apprenants, c’est par l’entremise d’une désappropriation temporaire.

Résumé Ennemie du temps, acharnée à refuser l’existence, l’oeuvre de Cioran est forcément vouée à entretenir un rapport intense et complexe avec l’éternité. Dans ses premiers écrits, Cioran paraît hanté par une éternité salvatrice, qui remédierait par des moments d’extase à la maladie du temps, exprimée dans un lyrisme du dégoût et de l’enlisement. En passant à la langue française et à son classicisme, il donne désormais à son refus du temps une sorte de frappe éternelle : son art devient pour de bon une pratique de la formule, qui dit l’éternité non comme salut mais comme maladie, apparentée à l’insomnie, à l’ennui et au mal de la langue elle-même, cherchant par une clarté digne du Grand Siècle à assumer et à surmonter le déracinement. S’il reste une éternité heureuse, elle se situe au-delà du langage, dans la musique de Bach. Par l’ensemble de ses réflexions sur l’histoire, le temps et l’éternité, le classicisme de Cioran paraît annoncer paradoxalement la postmodernité.

Des expériences taoïstes et duqìgōng(氣功, maîtrise, art duqì) – expériences du corps, du développement de la personne et de cultivation de soi, religieuses et thérapeutiques – résonnent avec des approches phénoménologiques, plus particulièrement avec la phénoménologie de la perception. Hérité de connaissances et de techniques à la croisée des chemins des arts martiaux, thérapeutiques et religieux dans le monde chinois, leqìgōngest une constellation d’expériences modernes (il a émergé au début XXe siècle) et contemporaines (se situant à l’ère de la réforme économique post-1979). Ses formes multiples aux variantes infinies dessinent une configuration complexe aux implications sociales et politicoreligieuses qui permettent de le définir aussi comme une pratique sociale. Situées entre théories de la connaissance et études d’expériences, comment les phénoménologies en anthropologie peuvent-elles nourrir la discussion sur les phénoménologies locales dans un échange réciproque transdisciplinaire entre philosophie, ethnologie et études aréales ? L’article est organisé en deux parties : l’une porte sur des aspects de la phénoménologie en philosophie et en anthropologie en lien avec des résonances dans le monde chinois ; l’autre se focalise sur ces résonances avec l’exemple d’expériences duqìgōngentrelacées à des expériences taoïstes.

Nous vivons dans un monde qui atteint un point critique où l’équilibre complexe actuel entre un environnement sain, l’énergie dont notre société a besoin pour maintenir ou améliorer son mode de vie et les économies interdépendantes pourrait basculer plus rapidement que prévu dans une toute nouvelle réalité où le déséquilibre serait la règle et les êtres humains devraient être plus créatifs que jamais pour survivre. Les problèmes environnementaux, l’incertitude économique et la complexité politique existent depuis longtemps. Mais ce qui était différent auparavant était la vitesse et la profondeur des transformations, comparativement à la rapidité actuelle des changements. La fréquence et la gravité de certains événements météorologiques et climatiques augmentent, et la capacité des êtres humains à modifier leur environnement direct ou éloigné est devenue une puissance capable de transformer la planète entière. L’art électronique a-t-il un rôle à jouer ? Les artistes électroniques ont-ils une responsabilité dans ce contexte ? Visant à utiliser l’art électronique comme un catalyseur, dans le but d’engendrer une prise de conscience plus profonde et de créer des partenariats durables de travail intellectuel pour résoudre notre crise environnementale, trois initiatives ont été lancées : Balance-Unbalance, « art ! ⋈ climate » et EChO.

Abstract:

Abstract Generation of 15 monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) allowed construction of epitope maps and specific two-site immunofluorometric assays for free prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and PSA complexed with alpha 1-antichymotrypsin (ACT). Close correlation of PSA concentrations obtained with the use of different assays of free PSA suggested extensive similarity in immunodetection of free PSA in serum. Assays of the PSA-ACT complex overestimated the concentration of PSA-ACT in serum because of nonspecific adsorbance of ACT or cathepsin G-complexed ACT to the solid phase. This interference was substantially decreased in the presence of heparin. In studying the stability of purified PSA and PSA-ACT complexes formed in vitro, we found that the free PSA was stable during storage for 4 weeks at 35 degrees C, whereas PSA-ACT complexes largely dissociated in these conditions. The instability of PSA-ACT complexes was counteracted by storage at low temperatures, by adjusting the pH of the storage buffer between 6.8 and 7.4, and through addition of 100-1000-fold molar excess of native ACT. The ease of calibration and the accuracy of free PSA assays in comparison with assays of the PSA-ACT complex suggest that measurements of free to total PSA most accurately reflect the inverse of the proportion of PSA complexed to ACT in serum.

Abstract:

Si l’importance des éditions François Maspero dans les champs politique et intellectuel a été bien démontrée par de nombreux travaux récents, son apport aux mutations survenues dans les politiques de la littérature autour de Mai 68 mérite d’être mis en lumière. Nous soumettons l’hypothèse que l’action de François Maspero en amont et en aval de 68 participe à une politisation du champ littéraire par l’articulation complexe entre théorie politique et création littéraire que l’on peut observer dans l’ensemble de son catalogue. Nous nous intéressons ici à quatre acceptions de la littérature qui circulent chez Maspero et qui incarnent les différentes facettes d’une inscription conflictuelle de la littérature dans l’espace social représentative de 68. Nous portons d’abord notre attention sur les préfaces que signe Jean-Paul Sartre de deux livres publiés par Maspero : Aden Arabie de Paul Nizan et Les damnés de la terre de Frantz Fanon. Nous analysons ensuite une série d’articles de Georges Perec qui paraît au début des années 1960 dans la revue Partisans. La troisième acception que nous observons est perceptible dans les collections consacrées à la création littéraire chez Maspero, notamment à la poésie en traduction. Finalement, notre analyse porte sur la collection « Théorie » dirigée par Louis Althusser et la réflexion qu’elle déploie sur les tensions entre art et idéologie. L’examen de ces quatre déclinaisons du littéraire montre que Maspero constitue le lieu privilégié d’une prise en charge de paroles subalternes provenant du Tiers-Monde, d’une critique virulente des prescriptions esthétiques du PCF et d’un éloignement des principes de la littérature engagée. Il annonce donc des transformations importantes de 1968 et les pérennise au fil des années 1970.

Abstract:

The present research featured the cultural and chronological context of the Oglakhty-Tom petroglyphs found in the lower valley of the Tom river. The author compiled a complete list of geometric petroglyphs of South Siberia, as well as a series of representational parallels that can help to date geometric zoomorph characters carved by the Bronze Age peoples of West Siberia. The author also illustrated some representational parallels for geometric petroglyphs from the early Andronian period found in the Vasyugan complex and the Lugavskoye burial mound in the Middle Yenisei. The paper introduces some results of carbon dating for these petroglyphs. The author detected some new archaeologic and petroglyphic complexes in the Lower Tom that go back to the epoch between Early Andronian time and the Bronze Age. He established the connection between the geometric petroglyphs and the Early Andronian complex in the Lower Tom, while the Minor Tuva-Altai petroglyphs proved to be as old as the Early Seyma-Turbino period. The paper contains palimpsests and ritual assemblages that prove that Oglakhty-Tom and Late Angara petroglyphs once co-existed. The author believes that the geometric petroglyphs and the realistic Late Angara petroglyphs date back to the same Early Andronian communities. The research also traces back various sources of these art traditions.

Abstract:

Les Faux-monnayeurs d’André Gide est un (anti-)roman qui fait appel à un autre médium artistique amimétique – en l’occurrence la musique – afin de mettre en question la représentation de l’authenticité, du réel et de la subjectivité de l’écrivain. Édouard, le protagoniste romancier qui souhaite lui-même rédiger un roman intitulé Les Faux-monnayeurs, se trouve plongé dans une mise-en-abîme où le récit linéaire contrapuntique déjà complexe se colore d’ambiguïté narrative grâce à une polyphonie verticale : et ce, par le biais de l’axe paradigmatique, des récits emboîtés et de l’usage du discours indirect libre. Gide réalise, au moins en partie, le rêve d’Édouard paralysé par la page blanche : terminer l’œuvre de Bach, L’Art de la fugue, en littérature. C’est-à-dire, que d’un point de vue intermédial, Gide emploie une poétique de la fugue – style musical théoriquement interminable – afin de subvertir le genre romanesque. Fleeing Completeness or The Intermedial Metanarrative of Les Faux-monnayeurs André Gide’s Les Faux-monnayeurs is a (anti-)novel that calls upon another amimetic artistic medium – music – in order to question the representation of authenticity, of the real, and of the novelist’s subjectivity. The novel’s protagonist, Édouard, wishes to write a novel entitled Les Faux-monnayeurs, and finds himself at the bottom of a mise-en-abîme where the already complex contrapuntal narrative becomes further ambiguous alongside examples of vertical polyphony: such as the paradigmatic axis, framed narratives (mise-en-abîme), and the use of free indirect speech. Gide is capable, in part, of realizing the goal of his protagonist, who is paralyzed by the blank page: to finish Bach’s work, The Art of Fugue, in literature. From an intermedial perspective, Gide employs a fugal poetics – the theoretically endless musical style – in order to subvert the genre of the novel. Finally, intermediality joins interdisciplinarity, and by applying Kurt Gödel’s mathematic and philosophical theorem – the incompleteness theorem –, textual verticality, synonymous with Gide’s metanarrative, reaches its height and further reinforces the themes of the “false” and the “copy” in a counterfeit novel.

Abstract:

The plasma concentration of the placentally derived proMBP (proform of eosinophil major basic protein) increases in pregnancy, and three different complexes containing proMBP have been isolated from pregnancy plasma and serum: a 2:2 complex with the metalloproteinase, PAPP-A (pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A), a 2:2 complex with AGT (angiotensinogen) and a 2:2:2 complex with AGT and complement C3dg. In the present study we show that during human pregnancy, all of the circulating proMBP exists in covalent complexes, bound to either PAPP-A or AGT. We also show that the proMBP–AGT complex constitutes the major fraction of circulating HMW (high-molecular weight) AGT in late pregnancy, and that this complex is able to further associate with complement C3 derivatives post-sampling. Clearance experiments in mice suggest that complement C3-based complexes are removed faster from the circulation compared to monomeric AGT and the proMBP–AGT complex. Furthermore, we have used recombinant proteins to analyse the formation of the proMBP–PAPP-A and the proMBP–AGT complexes, and we demonstrate that they are competing reactions, depending on the same cysteine residue of proMBP, but differentially on the redox potential, potentially important for the relative amounts of the complexes in vivo. These findings may be important physiologically, since the biochemical properties of the proteins change as a consequence of complex formation.

Abstract:

Comprehensive analysis of proteins to evaluate their genetic diversity, study their differences, and respond to the tensions is the main subject of an interdisciplinary field of study called proteomics. The main objective of the proteomics is to detect and quantify proteins and study their post-translational modifications and interactions using protein chemistry, bioinformatics, and biology. Any disturbance in proteins interactive network can act as a source for biological disorders and various diseases such as Alzheimer and cancer. Most current computational methods for discovering protein complexes are usually based on specific topological characteristics of protein-protein networks (PPI). To identify the protein complexes, in this paper, we, first, present a new encoding method to represent solutions; we then propose a new clustering algorithm based on the genetic algorithm, named PPI-GA, employing a new multiobjective quality function. The proposed algorithm is evaluated on two gold standard and real-world datasets. The result achieved demonstrates that the proposed algorithm can detect important protein complexes, and it provides more accurate results compared with state-of-the-art protein complex identification algorithms.

ABSTRACTMany viruses affect or exploit the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)-Akt-mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway, a crucial prosurvival signaling cascade. We report that this pathway was strongly activated in cells upon infection with the Old World alphavirus Semliki Forest virus (SFV), even under conditions of complete nutrient starvation. We mapped this activation to the hyperphosphorylated/acidic domain in the C-terminal tail of SFV nonstructural protein nsP3. Viruses with a deletion of this domain (SFV-Δ50) but not of other regions in nsP3 displayed a clearly delayed and reduced capacity of Akt stimulation. Ectopic expression of the nsP3 of SFV wild type (nsP3-wt), but not nsP3-Δ50, equipped with a membrane anchor was sufficient to activate Akt. We linked PI3K-Akt-mTOR stimulation to the intracellular dynamics of viral replication complexes, which are formed at the plasma membrane and subsequently internalized in a process blocked by the PI3K inhibitor wortmannin. Replication complex internalization was observed upon infection of cells with SFV-wt and SFV mutants with deletions in nsP3 but not with SFV-Δ50, where replication complexes were typically accumulated at the cell periphery. In cells infected with the closely related chikungunya virus (CHIKV), the PI3K-Akt-mTOR pathway was only moderately activated. Replication complexes of CHIKV were predominantly located at the cell periphery. Exchanging the hypervariable C-terminal tail of nsP3 between SFV and CHIKV induced the phenotype of strong PI3K-Akt-mTOR activation and replication complex internalization in CHIKV. In conclusion, infection with SFV but not CHIKV boosts PI3K-Akt-mTOR through the hyperphosphorylated/acidic domain of nsP3 to drive replication complex internalization.IMPORTANCESFV and CHIKV are very similar in terms of molecular and cell biology, e.g., regarding replication and molecular interactions, but are strikingly different regarding pathology: CHIKV is a relevant human pathogen, causing high fever and joint pain, while SFV is a low-pathogenic model virus, albeit neuropathogenic in mice. We show that both SFV and CHIKV activate the prosurvival PI3K-Akt-mTOR pathway in cells but greatly differ in their capacities to do so: Akt is strongly and persistently activated by SFV infection but only moderately activated by CHIKV. We mapped this activation capacity to a region in nonstructural protein 3 (nsP3) of SFV and could functionally transfer this region to CHIKV. Akt activation is linked to the subcellular dynamics of replication complexes, which are efficiently internalized from the cell periphery for SFV but not CHIKV. This difference in signal pathway stimulation and replication complex localization may have implications for pathology.
