Abstract:
Using the case of two Slovenian print media as an example, this article examines how online multimedia news has been adopted, what role different newsroom organization models play in online multimedia news production, and what multimedia news formats have emerged on news websites of Slovenian print media organizations. In the last decade, different multimedia news content has been emerging rapidly within news websites of print media organizations with online production organized differently and multimedia news formatted distinctly. A review of scholarly debates and research in media and journalism studies reveals that the particular institutionally structured features of online news production, and the technical and organizational attributes which influence what gets represented in the medium and the manner in which it is done have not yet emerged. Furthermore, on the basis of news format analysis, participant observation, and problem-centered interviews, the article concludes that there is a lack of vision in furthering the evolution of online production organization and news formats in Slovenian print media arena, which signals the present marginal significance of online multimedia news.

Abstract:
The Organization (Conference) on Security and Co-operation in Europe has just held a meeting in Budapest which was widely touted as a flop for its failure to achieve agreement on Bosnia. Its only reported action was to change its own name to “Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.” But, tucked away in the small print of the final document (paragraphs 25-6), is a resolution to appoint within the Office for Development of International Human Rights (OCJIHR) “a contact point for Roma and Sinti (Gypsy) issues.” This will act as a clearing-house for information, facilitate contacts between state and international and non-governmental organizations, working closely with Gypsy organizations. What this will mean in practice is not yet clear; but those who have pushed for this development have a clear agenda.

Abstract:
The article examines the role of the Writers’ Union of the USSR and the country’s individual authors in the organization of the World Youth Festival in Moscow in 1957. The forum helped rekindle the literary connections and reestablish contacts with European and American writers which had been severed in the late 1930s. Besides, young writers from Africa, Asia and South America were able to visit the festival. This forum was a highly significant international event which grasped the attention of the writers from most Soviet republics and autonomous regions. Until now, this aspect has not been discussed neither in Russia nor abroad. The author provides a rich compendium of materials from the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, some of which are in print for the first time.

Abstract:
Venetian printmakers in the sixteenth century were enthusiastic participants in what became a project of civic self-promotion as they looked beyond the local market to an international one. In response to the fascination of foreigners who marvelled at the city's singular topography and its reputation for liberty and licentiousness, the bird's-eye view and images of local social types – such as the doge and courtesan – became transmuted into icons of the city's urban identity. The medium and modes of representation used to reproduce the republic's social and physical organization on paper are crucial here, for it was the repetition and sedimentation of visual conventions that forged iconicity. Venice was redefined as a centre in which all the world could be seen. And the mechanisms for this redefinition, as this article argues, emerged, in part, out of print, for it was because the city could be seen from the eye of a bird, on paper as an image, by foreigners – that it could be re-envisioned from the outside in.

Abstract:
In today’s business world, growing attention is being paid on the business concept; “Corporate Social Responsibility “mostly because of environmental concerns, regulatory impacts, commercial benefits and reputation in front of the society. Increasing number of companies initiates and implements practices considered as CSR activities. Concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been first introduced by Bowen (1952) and states that while implementing strategies and making their decisions, organizations should act taking into consideration society’s values. In this respect, Carroll (1979) defined CSR as sensitivity of an organization about the stakeholders’ expectations on the management of social, environmental, economic, ethic and legal issues. Towards the end of 1980s, concept of sustainable development has been introduced and has focused on economic, social and environmental factors that organizations should consider. Sustainable development emphasizes how today organizations can fulfill their needs without Jeopardizing the needs of the future generations. Therefore, MNCs interested in a green supply chain should be attempting to cut their transportation carbon emissions and those of their suppliers. This can be accomplished by using biofuel, choosing the type of transportation with the least carbon foot print (trains and ships), utilizing smaller trucks when possible, and encouraging fuel efficient driving behavior by employees.

Abstract:
The article deals with the role of the Association of Ukrainian Writers in Exile “Word” in publication of the most complete collection of works by Vasyl Pachovsky in two volumes. Vasyl Pachovsky was a prominent member of Young Muse – an informal modernist group of writers and artists in Western Ukraine founded in 1906. In Ukrainian literature, he is mostly known as a lyric poet, but Vasyl Pachovsky is also the author of dramatic works. His modernistic dramas are lyrical allegories. At the same time they are highly patriotic works describing Ukraine’s long quest for freedom. Pachovsky’s most prominent dramas are: “Dream of Ukrainian Night”, “Sun of the Ruin”, “The Sphinx of Europe”, “Prince Roman the Great”, and “Het’man Mazepa”. Some of the works by Vasyl Pachovskyi were published in various journals or as separate books, but many of his works of art and historical articles remained in manuscripts. They are saved in the archives of the author’s family in the USA. In the context of solving this issue the publishing activity of the Association of Ukrainian Writers in Exile “Word” has been examined. The organization continued the traditions initiated by the Ukrainian Artistic Movement (Mystets’kyi Ukrayins’kyi Rukh). Its most famous members were Hryhorii Kostiuk, Yurii Sherekh, Vasyl Barka, Yurii Lavrinenko, Ostap Tarnavskyi and others. Their purpose was to create a literary center that would unite Ukrainian writers of diaspora. The organization also had to promote the development of independent Ukrainian writing, Theory of Literature and Literary Criticism, to create a publishing house in which the authors would be able to print their works. In general, a great number of different books (works of art, documentary, literary studies) have been published under the stamp of this Association. The collected works by Vasyl Pachovsky in two volumes have been published in 1984–1985, when Ostap Tarnavskyi was the chairman of the union. A lot of efforts have been made by sons and daughter of the writer. The structure and peculiarities of the publication are observed, the prefaces by the members of the Association Ostap Tarnavskyi and Vasyl Barka to each volume are considered. The texts of these authors are very important for the research into creative legacy of Vasyl Pachovskyi.

Zlydneva, Nataliya V. "Fording the stream of changes: The concept of border-zone in the novel by Dubravka Ugresic." Slavic Almanac, no. 3-4 (2020): 364–82. http://dx.doi.org/10.31168/2073-5731.2020.3-4.4.04.

Abstract:
The article aims to identify correspondences / parallels between the lit-erary text and the “text” of the historical time. The novel of the modern Croatian writer D. Ugresic “Fording the Stream of Consciousness” is taken as a basis: it is considered against the background of the events of the 1980s in Croatia. As the core of the poetic structure of the work, the concept of border-zone stands out. The latter can be traced at different levels of the text organization: in the composition, the plot, the characters, the narrative structure as a whole. The novel describes vari-ous boundaries (mental, existential, state, linguistic). Their function in the poetics of the novel is based on the principles of postmodernism: this is literature on literature. The social and cultural context in which the novel arose also demonstrates the concept of boundary by which the characteristics of the transitional era can be described. The 1980s in Croatia marked the state of transition in politics, economy as well as culture. The article discusses various types of art, cinema, literature and print media that set the main tone. It is shown that in literature, art, and cinema this was a boom period. Access to new frontiers is described by the concept of border-zone, which manifests itself in various ways of breaking the usual hierarchy in art: intertextuality, combining high and low genres (in fi lms and literature), enhancing the role of marginal (youth press), hybridization of media (pictorial turn). The sense of border-zone existence gave rise to “garbage poetics” as a contra-cultural phenomenon of the time. The novel of D. Ugresic contains all these signs of a transitional period. It also relies on the deeper layers of the liter-ary tradition, revealing correspondences with the Balkan model of the world. In this regard, the article touches upon the issue of the bridge in I. Andric’s prose, as well as the stairs in the story of A. Solan. Destruc-tion as the leading principle of postmodernism, the theme of the death of the novel, that manifested themselves in the piece of D. Ugresic, became a refl ection of the transitional time of Croatia, its culture, marked by the symbolic border of existence.

Abstract:
Abstract Taking up an analysis of the materiality of the American Mission Press (AMP) bilingual catalogs printed from 1884 to 1896 in Ottoman Beirut, in this article I identify these booklets as publications that circulated among broad networks of books, journals and newspapers during the period of the Arab nahda. By examining these catalogs in terms of the wider historical significance of their materiality, specifically their organization, layout, typography and illustrations, in this essay I show how these booklets promoted the AMP and its mission’s entangled messages in an increasingly competitive publishing industry. On the one hand, the catalogs highlighted the AMP’s ‘western’ qualifications and strove to engage local readers’ interests in ‘modern’ culture, science and technology. On the other hand, these works marketed the mission’s universalist evangelical views. Thus, in this study I show how such ephemeral publications, when studied for their dynamic content, make evident nineteenth-century Arabic print commerce at work and also illustrate early examples of nascent advertising practices.

Abstract:
Media organizations throughout the Western world struggle to adjust their practices to rapidly changing conditions. Initially, online journalism was celebrated for potentially revolutionizing political reporting due to its new technological possibilities: According to this, it is able to (1) increase transparency by providing hyperlink sources, (2) increase understanding by providing further background information, and (3) add to deliberation and follow-up communication by providing a platform for interactive exchange. A comparative content analysis of 48 news websites from six countries (France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, and United States) examines the degree to which these three potential strengths are fully exploited. By mapping the different news outlets in relation to the digital functions, we identify three models prevalent in different countries and organization types. The first model contains outlets promoting the usage of links to make their sources transparent to the reader (‘transparency model’), outlets focusing on the provision of background information to enable their audiences to gain a wider understanding of the reported topic (‘background model’), and outlets that mainly avoid the adoption of new technologies (‘print-oriented model’). These findings show that different structural developments and professional orientations lead to the adaption of different technologies in digital journalism.

Rubashov — Honored Artist of Ukraine, Member of the National Union of Artists in Ukraine, Associ- ate Professor of the Department of Drawing the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.Yurii Rubashov was born in Kyiv in 1947. After the end of the RCSU with the name of T. Shevchenko in 1965, he joined KSAI and till 1971 he studied in prominent Ukrainian graphists: V. Kasyana, I. Selivanov, V. Chebanyk. The artist turns to historical subjects and initiates graphic cycle, dedicated to the history of Kiev Rus and the activities of the kings who influenced the historical passing of events of that time.First of this thesis topic was a series of lithographs "Yaroslav the Wise" (1971), later — a series of graphic com- positions "Kiev Rus" (1979), a series of colored prints "Prince of Kiev", "Princess Olga, Svyatoslav, Vladimir, and Yaroslav the Wise (1992).The artist shows the greatest creative interest in landscape painting (cycles "On the Spain" (1982), "On the Sweden" (1985), "On the Jordan" (1983), "On the Armenia" (1983), "Roads of the Ukraine" (1996) and still life (Sweden Series, 2012–2013).It can be argued that Yu. Rubashov’s works absorbed the lyrics of landscapes with characteristic features of both southern and northern colors, and his still life is characterized by precise organization, a variety of styl- ized forms, which show confidence in the possession of the material and a balanced sense of compositional harmony. In the process of forming the author’s technique, he chooses the path of innovation and experiment, which in turn causes a peculiar interpretation of different technical means — a combination of materials and technologies of different nature. The artist exploits and applies multicolored pigments, oil pastels, watercolors and acrylic paints and the like, mixing everything with different solvents, which gives the opportunity to original express and crystallize a peculiar, author’s style.Drawing on the foundations of academic education, the artist experiments, seeks creative ideas and success- fully incorporates contemporary artistic problems into new imaginative solutions. This is a valuable example of growing skill and formation creative personality. In 2000 and 2015 he received first-degree diplomas All-Ukrainian Triennial of Graphic Arts, in 2012 — Di- ploma of the third stage of the exhibition-competition named G.Yakutovich.Yu. Rubashov fruitfully combines creative work with teaching. In the process of teaching his students, Yu. Rubashov not only lays the foundations of academic drawing, but also encourages to analyze creative material, to study and master the various drawing techniques and opportunities inherent in them.In the general process of contemporary search for an art, together with the academic pragmatism of the cur- riculum, the teacher, especially in the first courses of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Restoration, draws attention of the students in different artistic trends, teaches analytical and creative perception of natural objects and consciously approach the transformation of three-dimensional forms on a two-dimensional work plane of a paper sheet. These methodological principles meet the needs of modern times. The stylistic language of his works is recognizable and special. Not dwelling on what he has achieved, he im- parts his experience to the students, demonstrating the inexhaustible possibilities of drawing and the technical means of its implementation, including pastels. The high level of his works makes it possible to claim that Yu. Rubashov is a master of pastels and his contribution to the development of Ukrainian art is indisputable.

Abstract:
Disaster resilience is the cornerstone of effective emergency management across all phases of a disaster from preparedness through response and recovery. To support community resilience planning in the Rural Disaster Resilience Project (RDRP) Planning Framework, a print-based version of the guide book and a suite of resilience planning tools were field tested in three communities representing different regions and geographies within Canada. The results provide a cross-case study analysis from which lessons learned can be extracted. The authors demonstrate that by encouraging resilience thinking and proactive planning even very small rural communities can harness their inherent strengths and resources to enhance their own disaster resilience, as undertaking the resilience planning process was as important as the outcomes. The resilience enhancement planning process must be flexible enough to allow each community to act independently to meet their own needs. The field sites demonstrate that any motivated group of individuals, representing a neighborhood or some larger area could undertake a resilience initiative, especially with the assistance of a bridging organization or tool such as the RDRP Planning Framework.

In August 2015, there are two major Islamic organizations in Indonesia, NU and Muhammadiyah held a consultative forum which is the highest in the conference organization. 33 NU congress held in Jombang, East Java began 1 to 5 August 2015. As at August 3 to 7 held 47 Muhammadiyah congress in Makassar, South Sulawesi. One of the print media that provide accounts is Kompas. Interestingly, Kompas has a history as the founder of the mass media-founders are Catholic figures. As P. K. Ojong, Oetama, R. G. Doeriat, Frans Xaverius Seda, Polycarp Swantoro, R. Soekarsono, there are also representatives of the Supreme Council of hierarchical elements of the Indonesian Bishops (Mawi), Catholic party Union of Catholic University Students of the Republic of Indonesia (PMKRI). Kompas discourse about NU and Muhammadiyah that are the focus of research. How the two types of the news media is manufactured into a text. Because the media really is in the middle of a social reality that is loaded with a variety of interests, but has been linked with the social reality. As Aart Van Zoest once said, that a text has never been separated from ideology and have the ability to manipulate the reader toward an ideology. In the text of the media, reporters, also the editor, full power over the choice of words to beworn. He may or must select one word in between the rows of words that are quite similar yet different “flavors” of his. This research is a library (library research) with a focus on the study of print media ie newspapers Kompas, while the object to be studied is the preaching of NU and Muhammadiyah 33rd to 47th. In conducting the study, researchers used a discourse analysis approach Norman Fairclough. Fairclough focused discourse on language. Therefore, this analysis will focus on how it is formed and shaped the language of social relationships and social context. From this analysis, there are three points which were highlighted by researchers that democracy, state, and religious. Based on these three points, then the compass which in this case represented by the reporter had identified himself as part of the Muhammadiyah. In doing news about Muhammadiyah Congress, journalists tend to bring out the themes of good and using the words positive connotation. While in Congress proclaim the Nahdlatul Ulama, there was some news that gave rise to unfavorable theme of the NU and use words negative connotation.

Abstract:
Critics have noted a heavy imbalance in the control of publishing and non-print media – in scholarship, art, commerce and journalism alike – favouring the industrialized nations. UNESCO's ‘New World Information Order’, launched in 1978, was an early attempt to adjust the imbalance. By the 1980s the problem was being acknowledged, even in the news industry. However, proponents of the New World Information Order were unable to envisage anything but a Soviet-style statist solution, and this led to the withdrawal from UNESCO of the US in 1984, followed by the UK, citing anti-Western bias. With the introduction of new, more powerful and intrusive media, the gap between information haves and have-nots is expected to widen. Some prospect for change is offered by the increasing influence in the world arena of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) concerned with information. NGOs such as IFLA and FID carry out many joint projects with UNESCO. A coalition of several such bodies will present a symposium in January 1997 on the economics of global information, with special reference to the Internet. Now that the future of unregulated capitalism to achieve a just information order has been widely acknowledged, and the statist solution has been discredited, library and information associations are turning to the NGO solution.

Abstract:
Theoretical basis The psychological empowerment theory of intrinsic motivation is the primary theoretical basis for the case. Other theories discussed include personality theories and transformational leadership theory. Research methodology This is a field-researched case, based on face to face interviews with V.G. Jayakrishnan. The author also visited Jayakrishnan’s institution and attended an event there. The author also relied upon archival data in the form of newspaper reports: both print and video. The case is based on events before July 31, 2017. Case overview/synopsis This case examines how entrepreneur V.G. Jayakrishnan, between 1995–2017, set up two successful, yet distinct businesses, namely, ICD (Institute for Career Development), a leading banking test prepping center in Kerala, India and JK Farms, a state-of-the-art dairy farm. Jayakrishnan’s vision and ability to think far ahead of his competition led to ICD becoming one of the most successful banking test prep centers in Kerala, India. Similarly, Jayakrishnan’s vision of scientific dairy farming allowed him to set up the state of the art JK Farms. The case allows students to examine the concepts of intrinsic motivation and transformational leadership. Complexity academic level The case can be used both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. At the graduate level, it can be used at the beginning of any leadership class to foster discussion about intrinsic motivation and transformational leadership. At the undergraduate level, it would be better positioned at the middle of the organizational behavior course after the students have discussed the chapters on motivation, leadership and personality in principal textbooks (Colquitt, LePine and Wesson, McGraw Hill, 2018).

Abstract:
This paper is studying influence of new technologies on city development with accent on socio-spatial dimension. The primary goal of the paper is to point out the reflections of earlier ideas in the context of modern technological processes in cities. All social, technical and technological components of a community, and finally civilization, are reflected within space of the city. Although having remained the greatest consumer of many material goods, city has also become a ‘’producer’’ of many technical-technological and spiritual values of civilization. Taking into account acceleration of phenomena in the world of technology and technology featuring modernity, it reasonably brings a question on realistic chance for prediction of their further course and related social changes that are about to cause it. In many scenarios of urban future, one can sense the idea of a city as a result of high technological achievements of civilization. Special attention is paid on informational city which, connecting a lot of people into systems of interactive information technology change the way of their mutual communication, as well as their social life and culture of behaviour. Measure of organization and function of city is set by telecommunication technologies, information, and computers. If city is a ‘’print of a society in space’’, then a contemporary moment refers to ‘’digitalization’’ of human beings, digitalization of their interactions, new aesthetics, value and other criteria. The tendency of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of new technologies on 21st century cities interpreted primarily through the prism of certain theoretical and experimental ideas and concepts of the 20th century.

Abstract:
This study uses 48 in-depth interviews with managers, editors, and reporters at local and regional newspapers and their parent companies in four countries (Finland, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom) to examine how they discuss changes to their business models and the ways their news organizations are adapting to emerging audience-consumption trends in the digital environment. The results show that interviewees continue to prioritize the economic importance of their print products, despite declines in advertising and subscriptions. They also believe that for local news to continue, journalists must better understand the business strategies of their news organizations. Finally, they acknowledge the value of experimenting with new approaches to monetization, including implementing paywalls and using analytics to personalize content. In balancing the merits of their print products with their desire to develop new digital offerings, local newspapers seek to operate as ‘ambidextrous organizations’ that exploit the products of the past while exploring innovations that may help sustain them in the future.

This article is focused on the analysis and solution of the issue of a printing system model in a large organization. It provides an overview of the current stat29e of the organization and its current printing system. Based on the information about strengths and weaknesses, the most suitable solution for the given organization was designed and subsequently implemented. The created design meets all the requirements required by the company, while minimizing the threats that the deployment of the new system and the resulting changes may have. The work also describes various ways of dealing directly with change, whether when dealing with the old printing system or preparing employees for its change. The new system brings clear unification of the press, its monitoring and administration under the supervision of its own employees without the need for external companies or support.

Abstract Neo-nationalism was concerned with a new aesthetic, not just in the fine arts but also in the crafts, particularly needlework. One way that this aesthetic was disseminated for needle art was through publications—magazines, pattern books, how-to-manuals, guides for schools, and the like. Publications on needlework were produced throughout the nineteenth century, and their output increased toward the end of the 1800s, with many portraying peasant imagery and patterns associated with this new style of Neo-nationalism. This article explores how needlework publications propagated Neo-nationalist art to a broad audience and the key role they played in shaping the cultural milieu of the Russian late Imperial period.

Abstract:
Color is the basic element of printmaking art creation and also an important medium for artists to express their emotions. In order to improve the understanding of the print by tourists, the research first carries out image analysis of different colors, summarizes the common color image adjectives in the art of publishing and painting, then optimizes BP neural network algorithm by gradient promotion (GP) algorithm, and constructs a color language analysis technology based on GP-BP neural network review paradigm. Through this technology, the content of color expression of different types of print art works is analyzed. Then, the subjective evaluation of these print art works is carried out by questionnaire adjustment method. Finally, the subjective evaluation and network evaluation results are compared. On the three materials, the expression effect of color image adjectives such as “heavy light fast,” “modern classical,” “lively steady,” and “soft Yang Gang” is consistent ( P value is greater than 0.05). The first set of print works mainly reflects the artist’s “affinity cold” emotion. The MSE values of the evaluation results are less than 0.01. That is, the color language analysis technology of print art based on GP-BP neural network can reflect the artist’s emotion to a certain extent when analyzing the color language of the print.

Abstract:
Bribery is a familiar phenomenon in the society. This term is often associated as money politics, facilitation payments, etc. This problem becomes entrenched in modern life. It is caused by the impact of economic influence (money) in the modern era. This phenomenon becomes a stimulation and intrigue for artists to express their opinions in the form of aesthetic objects. The observing of various phenomena is an important process in the work as an artist because the phenomenon has a strong disturbance that stimulates artists to produce art. In this case the bribery has a function as an object of stimulation that triggers ideas to produce a work of art in which the idea is processed into print making. This art using two main techniques in print making, those are print relief (high print) and serigrafi (filter printing) techniques. The function of print relief is as a printing master as well as the contour in the art work and serigrafi that has a function in coloring process. The merging of these two techniques is inseparable from the principle of the process of the conventional print making which the entire process refers to the essence that exists in printing techniques.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to identify the print effects produced on selected fabrics due to the adaptation of styrofoam, plastic net and wood as stamp blocks for printing. Design/methodology/approach The art-based experimental research approach was used to produce and identify the art (prints) produced by stamp blocks on different fabrics using water-soluble print paste. Findings They stamp block surfaces used in the block printing process produced interesting effects or prints that are uniquely associated with each other. Fabrics such as silver and satin produced shinny print effects coupled with a tough hand or feel as compared to a paperish hand produced on the surfaces of cotton-polyester blend and linen fabrics. The addition of white glue to the paste produced a smooth and embossed-like print effect on fabrics like mercerised cotton and linen. Further results were captured to indicate the hand of these fabrics after printing due to the change in viscosity of the print paste. Originality/value The use of calabash and wood surfaces as stamp blocks used in Ghana and the rest of the world is common for printing patterns on fabrics. This study essentially reveals the possibility of using different surfaces for stamp blocks which produce aesthetically pleasing print effects. This when adopted by craftsmen and students would widen the teaching and creative scope in block printing and further produce viable prints for the market using available materials in the environment. These activities would promote and maintain the philosophy of block printing even in the era of advance printing technologies.

AbstractThe anthology of primary sources presented in Modern Art in the Arab World reveals a wealth of ideas, attitudes, hopes, fears, and concerns surrounding the many facets of modernism and art. The essays therein provide first-hand accounts of developing art scenes from across the Arab world and their relationships to their audiences on local, national, transnational, and global scales. These documents, many of which have been translated from Arabic or French into English for the first time, offer individual, in situ insights into a broad range of issues pertaining to art in the twentieth century while furnishing readers with numerous threads that connect these geographies with changes through time. Four matters in particular – the centrality of translation, print media, art, and image management to modernization – permeate this anthology's content and will be explored further in the following essay.

One of early childhood education that can help children to convey ideas and imagination is art. Eco-print is atechnique of art that utilizes natural materials as its ingredients. It has the potential to be a teaching materialin early childhood education so children can appreciate and learns environmentally friendly art by harness thenatural material around them. However, an eco-print lesson in early childhood education is still scarce due tothe lack of teaching materials and the lack of the teacher’s knowledge, specifically about eco-print techniquesfor early childhood education. This problem initiates the author to design training and teaching materials abouteco-print techniques for teachers of early childhood education. Before the training conduct, there will beresearch preparation, analysis of participant needs, trial and error design of the eco print. After then, evaluationconduct between trainer and participant. Based on an analysis of participant needs, the best eco-printtechnique for this training is hammering, which is the most straightforward eco-print technique. However, thehammering technique, which usually uses a hammer, is replaced with pestle wood because it is safer forchildren. The implementation of training was carried successfully in the South Jakarta through the POSDAYAcommunity. The result shows that teachers can accept the teaching materials due to the nature of its easyimplementation, easily obtained material, and safety procedures.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to automatically derive a 2D parametric model of the main characteristic lines of a car from images, blueprints or hand-made sketches of its side view. Then this model can be used for the further computer-aided design manipulation starting from images of the side view of a car. Design/methodology/approach The method combines different image edge detection techniques and edge removal processes with optimization techniques according to local and global constraints specific of the single curves to automatically construct a precise parametric model of the main character lines of a car from images. First, process the car image to compute the most important curves and then warp a car template model to match its feature points and curves with the ones detected in the image. Findings The paper provides method to construct parametric model from an image using maximum cover ratio to the edge points obtained by state-of-the-art edge detection algorithms. A feature points’ organization mechanism produces quadric curves to express feature curves of a product. Research limitations/implications The robustness of the presented method depends on the completeness of edge detection results and the accuracy of some key points’ registration result, so if the image is not good, the result cannot be trusted. Only side-view is considered in this paper. Additional limits in the process regard the side view verification: pictures of the front or rear view can be wrongly classified as lateral ones when they contain round lights. Practical implications This program enables designers to convert the image to geometric parametric model directly. Originality/value The method is applicable to shaded pictures, sketches and blue prints of the side view of a car. It can process a database of car images in a batch mode or a specific picture on user demand. The method classifies the cars to different categories: SUV/Wagon/Hatchback, sedan, city and coupe. The authors obtain good results for every category.

ABSTRACT”Penciptaan Karya Seni Rupa Abstraksi Wajah Togog Dan Topeng Bujang Ganong Dengan Teknik CBT (Cetak Benang Tarik)”( The Creation Of Abstraction Artworks Of Togog’s Face And The Mask Of Bujang Ganong With CBT (Print Thread) Technique) by Sofwan Zarkasi and Bening Tri Suwasono is based on the opportunities related to creativity and experimentation in two-dimensional works of art that utilize systems or techniques of creation in graphic arts, which have two-dimensional print art characters. One of them is creating mono print graphic artwork with a print process that utilizes tensile threads, namely threads that are colored and printed on paper and pulled with a little pressure. This research aims to open wide opportunities for creativity in two-dimensional works of art. The method applied in the creation of works in this study is using the theoretical approach of L. Chapman, which mentions three stages. The first stage is finding ideas by approaching the source of inspiration; the second stage includes refinement, development and establishment of the initial idea, including how the artist perfects, develops and establishes the initial idea which in this case relates to the search of forms, the choice of medium, tools, materials, and techniques; and the third stage, visualization into media, namely how artists visualize in the media. Indirectly the theory also put forward the experimentation, which in this study is the technique of Tensile Print (CBT) which produces the image prints in the form of lines that form the visual subject of Togog’s face and Bujang Ganong’s face mask in two-dimensional media. The results of this aristic research are two-dimensional works of art in the form of abstractions of Bujang Ganong masks with the characteristics of printed characters from the attraction of colored threads. From the creation of abstraction artworks of Togog’s face and the mask of Bujang Ganong with CBT (Print Thread) technique, this two-dimensional art works with the traditional dimensions is expected to be rich of innovation, both in technique and form, so that it can raise the prestige of the arts. Keywords: Fine Arts, two dimensions, abstraction, puppets, CBT.

Abstract Pioneering print collector and curator, Samuel P. Avery (1822–1904), donated a collection of 17,775 prints, including works by Cassatt, Whistler, Turner and Manet, to establish the Print Collection of the New York Public Library in 1900. Prior to his donation, Avery curated print exhibitions at the Library, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Grolier Club, and Union League Club. Through an examination of Avery’s persistent efforts to exhibit exemplary prints in museum and gallery settings – including an unusual collection of prints by women – this article provides evidence that Avery’s ground-breaking curatorial efforts led to the institutionalization of print display in New York.

Abstract:
Guides to writing screenplays worry most about plot sequence, character development and the dialogue. Yet, the ‘big print’ is a necessary part of any screenplay and as an educator I work with my screenwriting students to learn how to craft the big print so it is both powerful and minimal. This article is an examination of the art and style of screenplay prose; in particular, I use the screenplays of Arac Attack (released as Eight Legged Freaks), Aliens and Platoon as distinctive examples of diegetic writing in order to illustrate variations of style and how these affect the progress of the script and further, how the encumbering big print forecasts the overall tonal choices of the film. Each style discussed (minimalist, poetic/expansive and florid/expressionistic) is accompanied by suggestions for classroom or independent-study exercises meant to help develop movie writing style. Too long has the screenplay been seen simply as a blueprint for the final film; it is now time to begin appreciating the art of the written word in screenplay studies.
