Abstract: The Arthurian legends are well-known for their knights-in-shining armour, quests, chivalry, supernatural encounters, and of course, swords being pulled out of stones. The use of the 'sword-in-the-stone' trope allows the 21st century superhero films to play with and reinvent the implications of a 'true right to rule,' and the bodies that are expected to fill those roles. Abstract: Whether an Arthurian knight, a Green Lantern, or a Legendborn, one cannot have a legacy without first becoming a legend. In N.K. Jemisin's graphic novel Far Sector (2020) Sojourner 'Jo' Muellein's story as both community activist and guardian echoes, reinvents, and reimagines Arthurian romances through the lens of Afrofuturism; further, this fantastical remix challenges white supremacist modes of oppressive comic tradition by foregrounding racial and gendered identities. Making a legend is not about whom society has agreed to be the answer. Instead, such ideals lie with whoever asks

Abstract:

Abstract:
Marion Zimmer Bradley's novel The Mists of Avalon is different from the usual episodic versions of the Arthurian legend in that it has the structural unity that the label "novel" implies. The narrative is set in fifth-century Britain, a time of religious conflict between Christianity and the native religions of Britain, especially the Mother Goddess cult. Bradley pulls elements from the Arthurian legend and fits them into this context of religious struggle for influence. She draws interesting family relationships which are closely tied to Avalon, the center of Goddess worship. The author also

"Urban Legends: The South Bronx in Representation and Ruin" examines the construction of the South Bronx in the American imagination during the 1970s and 1980s--a time when the South Bronx was synonymous with the failures of urbanism. The project attempts a multidisciplinary excavation of the cultural manifestations of urban ruin as articulated through the histories, literatures, and visual arts produced within and inspired by the ruins of the Bronx. The dissertation contends that Bronx ruins offered a site for visual artists, writers, and photographers to create new ways of understanding the

Abstract:
In the 90s, with the collapse of the Soviet Empire, the systems by which certain artistic fields functioned were also ruined. Heavy names of Moldovan cinema became legends. The few new names seemed devoid of the prospect of a bright future, and the film, as the seventh art, turned off the light and drew the curtain. By taking a look at the past, on the one hand, Moldovan cinematography has a path with high-impact achievements, with a rich history, but at the same time, it is the least developed field, if we relate it to the rise which other arts have experienced since our independence.

Since ancient times, the island of Ischia, the largest of the Phlegrean Islands to the west of the Gulf of Naples, has been considered a land of great interest both for its strategic position in the Mediterranean Sea and for its rich landscapes and architecture. Among these distinctive features of the island, it is worth mentioning the unique urban layout of the Saracen alleys that developed around the watchtowers, which still characterize the village of Forio d’Ischia today. This defensive need, common to many Mediterranean locations, has led to distinctive urban and architectural outcomes on
