Sterically hindered N-(o-aryl)-rhodanines (a) (N-(o-aryl)-2-thioxo-4-thiazolidinones) have been synthesized and the N-(o-tolyl) and N-(o-chlorophenyl) derivatives have been converted to their dioxo analogs (b) (N-(o-aryl)-2,4-thiazolidine- diones). The chirality of the compounds in their conformational ground states was proved by detection of the diastereotopic protons or methyl groups at C-5 of the heteroring using 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. In the presence of the optically active auxiliary (S)-(+)-1-(9-anthryl)-2,2,2-trifluoroethanol the enantiomers of the racemic mixtures formed diastereomeric association complexes via H-bonding.Key words: chirality, chiral auxiliary, rotational isomerism, N-(o-aryl)-rhodanines, N-(o-aryl)-2,4-thiazolidinediones, 1H and 13C NMR.

Electroreduction of the 2,5-thiophene-bridged bis(1,2,3,5-diselenadiazolylium) salt [T-2,5-Se][SbF6]2 in acetonitrile, at a Pt wire and in the presence of iodine, affords a highly conductive ( sigma = 102 S cm-1 at 293 K) 1:1 charge-transfer (CT) salt [T-2,5-Se][I], the crystal structure of which has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystals belong to the orthorhombic space group Fm2m, a = 3.544(2), b = 10.9808(16), c = 31.464(5) Å , V = 1224.5(7) Å 3. The structure consists of perfectly superimposed pi -stacks of molecular units bridged by columns of disordered iodines. This packing motif is similar to that of the related 1,3-benzene-bridged derivative [1,3-Se][I], but the lateral intermolecular Se···Se interactions linking adjacent pi -stacks are considerably shorter, indicative of a more isotropic electronic structure for [T-2,5-Se][I]. Magnetic susceptibility measurements on [T-2,5-Se][I] nonetheless indicate a phase transition to a diamagnetic state near 200 K, behaviour similar to that observed for [1,3-Se][I]. The electronic structures and transport properties of the two compounds are discussed in the light of extended Hückel band-structure calculations.Key words: diselenadiazolyl, diradical, charge-transfer salt, magnetic susceptibility, crystal structure.

The aim of this article is to study the system of piecewise linear difference equations xn+1=|xn|−yn−b and yn+1=xn−|yn|+1 where n≥0. A global behavior for b=4 shows that all solutions become the equilibrium point. For a large value of |x0| and |y0|, we can prove that (i) if b=5, then the solution becomes the equilibrium point and (ii) if b≥6, then the solution becomes the periodic solution of prime period 5.

Abstract:
The combination of 1-benzyl-1,4-dihydropyridines with the strong Lewis acid, B(C 6 F 5 ) 3 , generates a stable pyridinium borohydride species in high yields (94%) in as little as 10 min. This use of biologically inspired hydride sources further builds on the recent work of new hydride donors in the formation of borohydrides. When functionalizing the dihydropyridine with an amide or carboxylic acid moiety, a disproportionation reaction composed of a series of protonation/reduction steps is observed upon the addition of B(C 6 F 5 ) 3 . As a result, one equivalent of dihydropyridine undergoes net hydrogenation, whereas the other is dehydrogenated yielding the pyridinium counterpart in a transfer hydrogenation-type mechanism. Abstract:
Three new species of the genus Belonectes Wilson & Hessler, 1981, from the munnopsid subfamily Eurycopinae Hansen are described from the deep Weddell Sea, Atlantic sector of the Southern Ocean. Belonectes grasslei sp. nov., B. stoddarti sp. nov., and B. daytoni sp. nov. are the first species of the genus described from the region: previously only two species of Belonectes were known from the northeastern Atlantic and the Peru-Chile Trench, the southeastern Pacific. The modified diagnosis of the genus Belonectes and a key to the species of the genus are presented. The pattern of the total ventral sculpture of the natasome, a medial lobe of article 4 of the maxillipedal palp which is larger than article 5 and the navicular male pleopod 1 with its deep keel are suggested to be additional important generic characters of Belonectes. The most useful characters to distinguish species of Belonectes are the size of article 1 of the antennula, the shape and size of the articles 3–5 of the maxillipedal palp, the shape of the distal margin of the male pleopod 1, the shape of distolateral part of the protopod of the male pleopod 2, the size and shape of the preanal ridge, and the size of the exopod of the uropod.

The courts international juristiction within the European union is regulated by the Brussels I Regulation. Article 2.1 of the Brussels I Regulation contains the fundamental provision. According to this Article the plaintiff shall submit an action where the defandent is domiciled. This Article contains an alternative to the general provision within Article 2.1. Article 5 (1) is applicable when the dispute is based on an agreement between the parties. The Article is justified because of the close link between the contract and the court of the place where the contract was, or is to be, performed. Article 5 (1) b of the Brussels I Regulation contains a uniform definition of the place of performance, if the agreement consists of contracts for the sale of goods and the provisions of services.

The European Court of Justice in the cases Color Drack, Peter Rehder, Car Trim and Wood Floor interprets the place of performance.

Polyhydroxylated alkaloïds are widespread in plants and microorganisms. The key step of these syntheses is a diastereoselective and catalytic hydrogenation of functionalized b-kétoesters. Abstract:

Abstract:
We present spectrophotometry spanning 1-5 mu m of 51 Eridani b, a 2-10 M-Jup planet discovered by the Gemini Planet Imager Exoplanet Survey. In this study, we present new K1 (1.90-2.19 mu m) and K2 (2.10-2.40 mu m) spectra taken with the Gemini Planet Imager as well as an updated L-P (3.76 mu m) and new M-S (4.67 mu m) photometry from the NIRC2 Narrow camera. The new data were combined with J (1.13-1.35 mu m) and H (1.50-1.80 mu m) spectra from the discovery epoch with the goal of better characterizing the planet properties. The 51 Eri b photometry is redder than field brown dwarfs as well as known young T-dwarfs with similar spectral type (between T4 and T8), and we propose that 51 Eri b might be in the process of undergoing the transition from L-type to T-type. We used two complementary atmosphere model grids including either deep iron/silicate clouds or sulfide/salt clouds in the photosphere, spanning a range of cloud properties, including fully cloudy, cloud-free, and patchy/intermediate-opacity clouds. The model fits suggest that 51 Eri. b has an effective temperature ranging between 605 and 737 K, a solar metallicity, and a surface gravity of log(g) = 3.5-4.0 dex, and the atmosphere requires a patchy cloud atmosphere to model the spectral energy distribution (SED). From the model atmospheres, we infer a luminosity for the planet of -5.83 to -5.93 (logL/L circle dot),leaving 51 Eri b in the unique position of being one of the only directly imaged planets consistent with having formed via a cold-start scenario. Comparisons of the planet SED against warm-start models indicate that the planet luminosity is best reproduced by a planet formed via core accretion with a core mass between 15 and 127 M-circle plus.

Abstract:
Sepsis syndrome is caused by inappropriate immune activation due to bacteria and bacterial components released during infection. This syndrome is the leading cause of death in intensive care units. Specialized B-lymphocytes located in the peritoneal and pleural cavities are known as B-1 cells. These cells produce IgM and IL-10, both of which are potent regulators of cell-mediated immunity. It has been suggested that B-1 cells modulate the systemic inflammatory response in sepsis. In this study, we conducted in vitro and in vivo experiments in order to investigate a putative role of B-1 cells in a murine model of LPS-induced sepsis. Macrophages and B-1 cells were studied in monocultures and in co-cultures. The B-1 cells produced the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 in response to LPS. In the B-1 cell-macrophage co-cultures, production of proinflammatory mediators (TNF-, IL-6 and nitrite) was lower than in the macrophage monocultures, whereas that of IL-10 was higher in the co-cultures. Co-culture of B-1 IL-10/ cells and macrophages did not reduce the production of the proinflammatory mediators (TNF-, IL-6 and nitrite). After LPS injection, the mortality rate was higher among Balb/Xid mice, which are B-1 cell deficient, than among wild-type mice (65.0% vs. 0.0%). The Balb/Xid mice also presented a proinflammatory profile of TNF-, IL-6 and nitrite, as well as lower levels of IL-10. In the early phase of LPS stimulation, B-1 cells modulate the macrophage inflammatory response, and the main molecular pathway of that modulation is based on IL-10-mediated intracellular signaling.

Abstract:
This article contains the examination of graphite-filled systems based on an aromatic copolyamide (poly-m-,-n-phenylen isophthalamide) - phenilon C1. Used as fillers are natural colloidal graphites ELP-B, B-1 and C-1 contained at the amount of 5 to 30 mass %. The results of investigations allowed to state that the type and content of filler has a substantial effect on tribotechnical properties of graphite-reinforced plastics. It has been found that phenilon containing 15–20 mass % of graphite C-1 possesses the best tribotechnical characteristics.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Background: The importance of screening for HBV infection is to identify the risk of perinatal transmission from infected mothers. People infected with HBV during infancy or childhood are more likely to suffer chronic infection to cirrhosis of the liver and liver cancer. Early detection and prompt treatment are essential for HBV infection. This study aimed to review the factors and management of hepatitis B virus screening in mothers and infants. Subjects and Method: A scoping review method was conducted in eight stages including (1) Identification of study problems; (2) Determining priority problem and study question; (3) Determining framework; (4) Literature searching; (5) Article selection; (6) Critical appraisal; (7) Data extraction; and (8) Mapping. The search included PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, and Scopus databases. The inclusion criteria were English/ Indonesian-language and full-text articles (scoping review, meta-analysis, systematic review)/ documents/ reports/ policy brief/ guidelines from WHO/ other organizations published between 2009 and 2019. The data were selected by the PRISMA flow chart. Results: The searched database obtained a total of 27.862 articles. After screening, 27.325 articles were excluded because of unmet the inclusion criteria. After conducting critical appraisal for the remaining 537 articles, only 11 articles were eligible for further review. The selected articles obtained from developing countries (China, South Africa, and Tanzania) and developed countries (Netherlands, Japan, Denmark, Northern Europe, and Canada) with quantitative studies design (cross-sectional, case series, and cohort) met the inclusion criteria. The findings emphasized on four main topics around hepatitis B virus screening in mothers and infants, namely demographic factors, risk factors, post-screening benefit, and challenges in screening uptake. Conclusion: Early detection of HBV infection with prenatal screening reduce the HBV prenatal transmission, especially from infected pregnancy. Screening plays an important role in the administration of universal infant HBV vaccination and postexposure prophylaxis with hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG) at birth. Abstract:
ABSTRACT Background: The accelerated pace of physical and psychological changes during pregnancy can cause discomfort for pregnant women. Several studies claimed that maternal stress, depression, and anxiety level have a negative impact on birth outcomes. Yoga is a well-known exercise for emotional relaxation therapy. This study aimed to investigate the benefits of prenatal yoga exercise during pregnancy. The search included Willey Online library, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases. The inclusion criteria were English-language, full-text, and free access articles published between 2009 and 2019. The selected articles were appraised by Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal tools. The data were reported by the PRISMA flow chart. Results: A total of 2,232 articles obtained from the search database, in which 2,093 articles were irrelevant, 95 duplicates, and 24 articles unmet inclusion criteria were excluded. Based on the selected 20 articles, eleven articles obtained A grade, and nine articles obtained B grade with quantitative (RCT, quasi-experiment, cross-sectional) and qualitative (focus group discussion) study designs. For main thematic findings reviewed were physical, psychological, labor process, and fetal benefits of prenatal gentle yoga exercise during pregnancy. Conclusion: Prenatal gentle yoga exercise has benefits for both mother and fetus, especially the psychological well-being of mothers by reducing stress and anxiety. Active participation of husbands is required to enhance the effectiveness of prenatal yoga. Keywords: prenatal gentle yoga, pregnancy, benefit Correspondence: Migita Vidia Amita. Hall, Mark, and Neil Price. Medieval Scotland: A Future for its Past. Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, 2012. http://dx.doi.org/10.9750/scarf.09.2012.165.

Full text
Abstract:
The main recommendations of the panel report can be summarised under five key headings. Underpinning all five areas is the recognition that human narratives remain crucial for ensuring the widest access to our shared past. There is no wish to see political and economic narratives abandoned but the need is recognised for there to be an expansion to more social narratives to fully explore the potential of the diverse evidence base. The questions that can be asked are here framed in a national context but they need to be supported and improved a) by the development of regional research frameworks, and b) by an enhanced study of Scotland’s international context through time. 1. From North Britain to the Idea of Scotland: Understanding why, where and how ‘Scotland’ emerges provides a focal point of research. Investigating state formation requires work from Medieval Scotland: a future for its past ii a variety of sources, exploring the relationships between centres of consumption - royal, ecclesiastical and urban - and their hinterlands. Working from site-specific work to regional analysis, researchers can explore how what would become ‘Scotland’ came to be, and whence sprang its inspiration. 2. Lifestyles and Living Spaces: Holistic approaches to exploring medieval settlement should be promoted, combining landscape studies with artefactual, environmental, and documentary work. Understanding the role of individual sites within wider local, regional and national settlement systems should be promoted, and chronological frameworks developed to chart the changing nature of Medieval settlement. 3. Mentalities: The holistic understanding of medieval belief (particularly, but not exclusively, in its early medieval or early historic phase) needs to broaden its contextual understanding with reference to prehistoric or inherited belief systems and frames of reference. Collaborative approaches should draw on international parallels and analogues in pursuit of defining and contrasting local or regional belief systems through integrated studies of portable material culture, monumentality and landscape. 4. Empowerment: Revisiting museum collections and renewing the study of newly retrieved artefacts is vital to a broader understanding of the dynamics of writing within society. Text needs to be seen less as a metaphor and more as a technological and social innovation in material culture which will help the understanding of it as an experienced, imaginatively rich reality of life. In archaeological terms, the study of the relatively neglected cultural areas of sensory perception, memory, learning and play needs to be promoted to enrich the understanding of past social behaviours. 5. Parameters: Multi-disciplinary, collaborative, and cross-sector approaches should be encouraged in order to release the research potential of all sectors of archaeology. Creative solutions should be sought to the challenges of transmitting the importance of archaeological work and conserving the resource for current and future research.
