Abstract:
An article is any member of a class of dedicated words that are used with noun phrases to mark the identifiability of the referents of the noun phrases. The category of articles constitutes a part of speech. In English, both "the" and "a(n)" are articles, which combine with nouns to form noun phrases. Articles typically specify the grammatical definiteness of the noun phrase, but in many languages, they carry additional grammatical information such as gender, number, and case. Articles are part of a broader category called determiners, which also include demonstratives, possessive determiners, and quantifiers. In linguistic interlinear glossing, articles are abbreviated as art.

Abstract:
The scenarios for journal articles that contain more than one language are no longer (and never really were) limited to having an article’s title, abstract, and keywords translated to additional languages. Journal Article Tag Suite (JATS) currently has a variety of structures for tagging articles that are in multiple languages or have substantial amounts of content in more than one language. However, these structures are not all coherent and are not up to the tasks of handling some common use cases. A subcommittee of the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) JATS Standing Committee (with participation from members of the Standards Tag Suite (STS) and Book Interchange Tag Suite (BITS) committees and some other invited experts) was formed, in 2021, with the goal of recommending changes to JATS to enable it to usefully encode multilingual articles. The subcommittee has recommended a set of changes that introduce new structures that can be available to JATS users who need them while minimizing the burden JATS users who rarely deal with multilingual content. Most of these changes are backward compatible with earlier versions of JATS. These changes are currently a work in progress and may become available in a future version of JATS. This paper presents a proposal for improving JATS to better support tagging multilingual articles with the hope of garnering feedback and suggestions from the JATS community.

Abstract:
The present research aimed to investigate the Open Access (OA) and non-OA publishing models and the ArticleProcessing Charge (APC) in Iranian researchers’ articles. The study population included all researchers’ articlesfrom Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU), Tehran, Iran, indexed in the Scopus database from2017-2019. The publication model of the articles was determined by referring to the original article, the type ofjournal, and their APC rate through the journal website, and the country of the journals’ publishers using the Scimago database. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics and SPSS software. Five thousand ninety-seven articles (54.5 %) were published as OA and 4255 articles (45.5 %) as a non-OA. 57.1 % of OA articles were published in APC OA journals, 20.3 % in non-APC OA journals, and 11.7 % in hybrid journals. $ 4,899,027.15 was spent on publishing 3,506 OA articles; the average cost per article was $1,397.32. Publication costs for Iranian researchers are obstacles to publishing OA articles in APC journals. It is necessary to provide sufficient support to researchers by universities and the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran. Considering the low economic capacity of Iranian researchers, international journals should also consider discounts for them.

Abstract:
AbstractArticle Processing Charges (APCs) are significant charges for publishing Open Access (OA), and have no accepted standards for authors to source the funds or negotiate the charges. While there is a growing body of literature exploring academic authors’ perceptions of OA publishing, there is little data on how authors pay for APCs. The aim of this study was to examine how authors prepare for and fund APCs, as well as their perceptions of these charges. In early 2021 the authors deployed a survey to Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai faculty members via email. The survey was completed by 310 faculty, representing 10.6% of the active researcher population. Our findings show that about 50% of respondents include anticipated APC costs in grant applications, and that 16% of faculty will pay APCs using personal funds. Questions evaluating perception of APCs show that while the majority of respondents support the concept of Open Access, most believe that charges are too high and should not fall on authors.

Abstract:
Osteoarthritis, a prevalent and debilitating joint disorder, gradually erodes cartilage—the protective cushion between bones—leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced joint mobility, primarily in weight-bearing joints. While age, genetics, and joint injuries are key contributors, the symptoms, starting with minor discomfort, escalate to pronounced pain and limited movement. Timely diagnosis, involving patient history, exams, and imaging, is vital. Treatment entails pain management, physical therapy, lifestyle adjustments, and, in extreme cases, joint replacement surgery. Ongoing research offers hope for improved therapies, emphasizing early intervention and holistic approaches for enhanced joint health. This article delves into the depths of osteoarthritis, unraveling its underlying mechanisms i.e. pathophysiology, risk factors, diagnostic approaches, and management strategies including latest advancement

Abstract:
Gynecomastia is a benign enlargement of the male breast that results from an overgrowth of the glandular portion of the breast, which is often bilateral but can occasionally be unilateral. Clinically, it can be identified by the presence of a rubbery or firm mass extending concentrically from the nipples. Pseudogynecomastia (lipomastia), which is characterised by fat accumulation without glandular development, should be distinguished from gynecomastia. Gynecomastia develops when the estrogen-androgen ratio is altered in favour of oestrogen or when the breasts become more sensitive to a normal level of circulating oestrogen. The antagonistic effects of testosterone and oestrogen are what is causing the imbalance. (The typical ratio of testosterone to oestrogen during pregnancy is about 100:1, while the usual testosterone to oestrogen ratio in the blood is about 300:1). The goal of surgery is to reduce the size of the breast and to improve cosmetic appearance.

"Few Journal Article Organizational Structure Characteristics Affect Article Citation Rate: A Look at Agricultural Economics Articles Using Regression Analysis." Journal of Agricultural Science 8, no. 10 (2016): 73. http://dx.doi.org/10.5539/jas.v8n10p73.

Full text
Abstract:
<p>When reporting research findings, a journal article’s organizational structure influences whether others can easily assess the published research’s procedures, interpret the results, and synthesize the implications. Organizational structure characteristics include sufficiently explained variables, data format, number of exhibits, and presence of an appendix. This study endeavors to empirically test whether journal article organizational structure influences citation rates. Citations are used for ranking academic fields, evaluating faculty for promotion, and assessing faculty performance for merit-based salary increases. Journal editors desire higher citation rates to enhance journal exposure, and faculty target publishing in journals with higher impact factors, which reflect citation rates. To assess whether journal article organization affects citation rates, this study uses data from a survey of 68 <em>Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics </em>articles published between 1994 and 1998, and it uses citation rates between February 2010 and the publication date as the dependent variable. These articles were selected because they used regression methods and had all information necessary for this analysis. Using Tobit and truncated ordinary least squares regressions, this study evaluated the marginal effects of variables, including organizational structure characteristics, influencing citation rates. The results indicated a lack of statistical significance for most organizational structure variables affecting citation rates. The use of panel data use and presence of an appendix were the two only organizational structure variables that had significant effects on journal article organizational structure. They had respective positive and negative effects. Thus, little evidence supports that a professional impact, measured as citations, will result from at least this particular journal making efforts to improve article format structure. The current study may motivate future research that replicates the methods and examines other journals and article characteristics.</p>

Abstract:
At present, the virtual forums are free and convenient speaking platforms, according to the speaking specifications and through the examination of forum administrators, the forum users can publish various articles easily. However, as the number of users increases, it is difficult for the forum administrators to check them one by one, and return all the articles to be revised. Also, the publishers (article providers) may write violative words unconsciously, so the article writers infringe the forum specifications with the publication, and shall revise the violative articles. Therefore, this paper develops an Article Reorganization Model based on Emotion Implied in Forum Articles including Article Expressed Emotion Determination Module and Publisher's Article Statement Reorganization Module. The first module deduces the emotion type of articles by analyzing representative events of articles, creating emotion word membership coefficient, analyzing similar statements and analyzing emotion probability and stable value. The second module uses integrated semantic similarity analysis, review score analysis and multiple combined sentences establishment, the article's statement structure can be reorganized. This paper builds a Web-based system and a real-world case is applied to confirm the feasibility of this methodology. For forum administrators, violative articles can be extracted rapidly from the articles with specific emotions and the violative statements will be reorganized. For article writers, the statements of violative articles can be revised automatically to save the time for revising violative articles.

Abstract:
In this study a group of 27 victims seen approximately 6 months after the assault was compared to a matched control group. The results show significantly higher scores on two subscales of IPAT (“ego weakness” and “disposition to guilt”) and on 4 scales of the MMPI (“denial”, “hypochondriasis”, “depression” and “conversion hysteria”); also, the victims' social adjustment seems inferior and the frequency of sexual relations has been reduced considerably for them. The following factors have been evaluated in order to test their relation to the adjustment to the assault: rape by a stranger versus someone known, degree of violence, feelings of self-blame, problems during the crisis, predominant thoughts, professional help, social support, stable relationship, allusion to victim's responsibility for rape and conviction or not of the aggressor. Even though most of these variables show a significant simple correlation with adjustment to rape only four among them remain significantly associated when socio-demographic variables, pre-rape psycho-social problems and life stressors are controled; the very subjective variable “predominant thoughts”seems to best explain differences in adjustment. The importance of pre-assault variables and of the subjective reaction to rape is discussed.

Abstract:
This article aims to clarify and organize the recent advances in research on the central action mechanism of lithium. It begins by tackling the process of cellular transport of the cation, then it moves on to describe the effects of lithium on ionic distribution and on membranous functioning in general. Neurotransmission in this article is the object of a more detailed study. The metabolism of neurotransmitters (and their disturbances) is first discussed. The emphasis is placed on certain current domains, the gabaergic system in particular. Neurotransmitters, by themselves, do not satisfy any longer the curiosity of biologists. Technological progress has given these scientists access to the intimate functioning of receptors and to their natural support system, the membrane. The stabilizing effect of lithium is mentioned often. Initially seen at a superficial level, it leads to a study of the mechanisms of the transference of information from the receptor to the cell. The membranous phospholipids and the enzymatic systems controlling the metabolism of the second messengers (cyclic nucleotides but also calcium) will provide as many potential targets to the action of lithium.

The article presents the difficulties of the psychiatric consultation with patients having somatic complaints. A model of evaluation and intervention is proposed in which the link between the somatic complaint and the doctor-patient relationship is emphasized. A closer look at the manifest request for consultation often leads to interpreting the consultation as a symptom of the patient's relationship to his doctor. The consultation is often a confrontation with the hidden conflict of the patient embedded in his symptom, but actualized with his referring doctor. The focus is on the patient as the agent of his trouble. A clinical vignette is presented.

Abstract:
What happens to deprived children when they grow up? The authors tried to answer this question by initially selecting 34 subjects clearly identified as suffering a deprivation syndrome in their youth. Following theoretical considerations, the authors formulated hypotheses which they attempted to verify by comparing the nine adult subjects available who had suffered deprivation during their youth with whom they were able to establish contact with nine others diagnosed as neurotic (the control group). The authors predicted that the deprived subjects would present more disability as adults than the neurotic ones. They were predicted to be more inclined towards delinquency and depression. It was hypothesized that they would not drift into psychosis, psychosomatic illness or become “young chronics”. We did not expect that they would move very much on the social scale. The authors seized the opportunity to learn more about the satisfaction with the psychiatric interventions experienced during their youth. In this study, the authors used a questionnaire and four scales of the MMPI to compare the two groups. The deprived subjects demonstrated more maladaptation with a strong tendency towards delinquency and possibly depression. They were not mobile on the social scale, and did not drift into psychosomatic illnesses or become “young chronics” but some psychosis was observed among them. In the final discussion, the authors discuss the limitations of the study due to the size of the sample and problems of the methodology, along with ways that this could be strengthened in order to more successfully answer some of the questions raised.
