Abstract:
AbstractThe paper presents the technology and organization of the artistic cast production. On the basis of the actual cast production system, the manufacturing process was shown, in particular sand–piece moulding, which is a very important process and a time-consuming part of the entire manufacture of the casts. The current state of the production process as well as the organization of the work and production technology were analysed with the use of methods and techniques of production improvement, the Lean Manufacturing concept and computer systems. The results of the analysis and studies were shown with use of schemes and graphs of the layout of the production resources, a flow chart of the production process, value stream mapping, and a costs table for the production and modernization of the moulding stage. The work has shown that there are possibilities to improve the artistic cast production system. This improvement leads to increased productivity, lower production costs of artistic casts and increased competitiveness of the foundry.

Abstract:
The article considers the specifics of building the composition of an artwork in terms of its integral structure. It states that any composition comprises a number of individual elements or ‘composites’, combined into a triple entity comprising two figurative elements and a nonfigurative link between them, which sometimes leads to a different sequence of image perception. As a result, the meaning of the whole structure can be perceived differently so that in some cases an integral meaning happens to be greater than the sum of all the meanings that make up the structure of the composition. Thus, the perception of artistic imagery is a temporal process where the same image can be understood differently depending on the sequence of perception.

Abstract:
Most machine health monitoring techniques are likely to suffer from ineffective selection of state features, and the increasing redundancy of raw signals. As a new strategy, an interactive and artistic monitoring approach is presented. Its basic concept is to transform raw signals into artistic graphs rather than obscure waveforms. The entire procedure includes three steps: signal acquisition, plotting artistic graphs and interactive diagnosis. In the case of numerical control machine tools, an interactive and artistic monitoring prototype system is developed based on the integration of the open-source Arduino platform and the open-source Processing language. Experimental results indicate that the artistic visualization of measured data facilitates the identifications of machine condition and the diagnosis of observed symptoms.

PROKOPCHUK, Inna. "MONTAGE AS A FORM OF ARTISTIC THINKING IN THE WORKS OF UKRAINIAN AVANT-GARDE ARTISTS." Bulletin of the Lviv University. Series of Arts Studies 199, no. 23 (2022): 3–16. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vas.23.2022.12188.

Full text
Abstract:
The study aims to highlight the concept of understanding the category of montage as a cultural phenomenon that realizes itself as a formative principle of cultural morphology and represents the artistic embodiment of the worldview and socio-cultural attitudes of modernism. Without pretending to be comprehensive, the research focuses on the artistic and technological universality of montage as a tool of artistic perception and reflection of reality in various types of art of the Ukrainian avant-garde of the first third of the twentieth century. On the basis of scientific works, the author determines the representativeness of montage in its species variants, the carriers of which are artistic works designed from elements with different spatial, temporal, iconographic, and stylistic nature. It is noted that montage in the building of works of art has been used since ancient times, before the appearance of the term itself, one of the main creative techniques and an independent artistic phenomenon it became only in the culture of the twentieth century, in the era of modernism and postmodernism that followed. The author sees further study of montage as one of the meaning-forming principles in the artistic and aesthetic system of postmodernism with a tendency to merge not only different types of art, styles, genres and forms, but also the general intellectualisation of art. The artistic experiments of the Ukrainian avant-garde artists were directly inspired by the birth and spread of cinema, on the one hand, and played a key role in its evolution as a new art form, on the other. The artists’ radical discoveries in the representation of modernity, the peculiarities of the city, and the crowded street gave rise to montage theories based on the principles of counterpointing the frames of the reflected reality. Moreover, the montage language, as an element of artistic thinking of the era, became a leading way of understanding the organization of action in the nature of the new life, and the best artists turned to it in their radical search for new forms and content.

Abstract:
The publication sequence and the structure of the first editions of the works of Remizov allow the results of the writer’s creative activity to be considered in terms of his sophisticated pragmatics. The author’s strategy becomes most prominent when considered through the theory of paratext proposed by the French literary scholar J. Genette. This paper reviews the selected “nominations” of paratext presented as theses for the theme development. The structural approach discloses the dynamic connections of the structural paratext elements with the ideological and aesthetic program of the writer’s creativity. This program is based on three main directions of his artistic system: tradition preservation, innovation, and self-representation. The analysis identifies subtextual elements as indexical and metonymic markers for several thematic creative loci. These are the Old Russian manuscript and book tradition, the cult of the manuscript text as an authentic imprint of the writer’s personality, and the writer’s autobiography. The study focuses on the changes in the functional status of paratext in Remizov’s works as significant events of his creative biography. Consideration is given to the non-verbal elements of paratext in semantically significant elements of a literary work. The motives of the writer’s literary behavior altering the discourse of his paratextual sections are revealed. The paper comprises three sections: 1. Genres of the oral folk tradition and the first printed book in the structure of Remizov’s artistic works. 2. Authorial representation in the structure of Remizov’s book. 3. Author’s “Notes”: the path from the periphery to an independent genre form.

This paper puts forward the concept of art innovation system and the system model of art creation process. On this basis, it analyzes the basic characteristics of art innovation system by using the principle of finite optimization, and establishes the operation mechanism of art innovation system based on the characteristics of uncertain attributes. At the same time, it is pointed out that the essence of artistic design innovation is to increase the optimum attributes of the work and reduce the non-optimum attributes of the work, and the operation process of this innovation system is also a learning process. Research shows that artistic innovation is the realizability of new ideas and new models, which depends on the target demand for artistic works and the realization degree of the new demand for works. Moreover, the artistic innovation system has the functions of self-organization, self-learning and self-realization, and the practical wisdom of artistic works creation is the key to the establishment of the innovation system.

Language is a unique complex system and at the same time a creative being. We know that the emergence and realization of language occurs mainly through speech. Speech is also a device with endless creativity that demonstrates the power of language in a way that fits the context of the word. Mutually associative nature is not exactly the same in language and speech. Linguistic units, such as lexemes, always have paradigmatic (similarity) and syntagmatic (adjacency) relationships that point to and resemble each other. An ambiguous word forms a separate circle with each meaning. They are lexemes and placed in separate paradigms of the language

This article presents a novel real-time, collaborative, and interactive AI painting system, Mappa Mundi, for artistic Mind Map creation. The system consists of a voice-based input interface, an automatic topic expansion module, and an image projection module. Imagination is one of the most important factors which makes an artistic painting unique and impressive. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, more and more researchers try to create painting with AI technology. However, lacking imagination is still a main problem for AI painting. This research proposes a novel approach to inject rich imagination into a special kind of painting- Mind Map. Lexical and phonological similarities of respective seed words are first considered, then the system learns and inherits the artist's original painting style, and further applies Dadaism and impossibility of improvisation principles into the process. Several metrics for imagination evaluation are then developed later in the article. The result show that this proposed method can increase the imagination of painting and also improve its overall quality.

Abstract:
Although the main visual information in film is carried out by the shape of objects, their position in space and their correlation with other objects, color in the motion picture also plays a significant role because the color scale has a strong aesthetic and emotional impact on the viewer. Color is often an organic part of the dramaturgy of film. The exact coloristic solution of a frame, episode or film is able to create the desired atmosphere of action. Different screen chronotopes are often indicated with the help of color — it could be an artistic space of reality, memories, fantasies or a movie character’s dreams. Color helps to convey the subjective perception of reality by the film’s heroes. In a certain context, the color scheme of a film, shot or an individual object, can acquire a metaphorical or symbolic sound. Cinematography initially adopted many of the techniques related to compositional and light-color solutions from painting, which is especially noticeable in the works of directors who pay great attention to the plastic solution of the frame. Today with the introduction into filmmaking of digital technologies, work on the visual solution and color harmonization of the screen image is becoming in many ways similar to the art of an artist. The article analyzes and summarizes the creative experience accumulated by cinema in working with color images and investigates the functional role of color in film, the psychophysiological and emotional impact of color on the viewer, the symbolism of color, and various methods of color solutions in modern films.

The analysis provides examples of the interpretation of dance staging solutions in the architectural space, including innovative modern practices of the 20th‑21st centuries. The artistic and imaginative metamorphoses of staged choreographic solutions occurring in different kinds of architectural spaces are considered. Starting with the perspectivism of the scenery on the stage and the light architecture of the 18th century, the author moves on to the monumental construction of the large stage performance of the 19th century and concludes with the choreographic experiments of the early 20th century. The article points out that modern times offer the most curious design solutions. There are examples of bold, original methods of interaction between choreography and architecture: dances are staged directly in the interiors of buildings, bypassing the traditional stage platform. The implied idea of human movement in space, encompassing the viewer, appears here because of successively changing impressions. Finally, the author explores the directorial approach, where the choreography itself masters and constructs the architecture, helping the viewer to perceive themselves as if within its own spatial structure. This peculiar artistic and visual synthesis appears in the dynamics of genre and style of the author’s stage context. The study of the specifics of ballet as a dramatic phenomenon seems to be a fundamental research task, because, more than any other theatrics genre, it is the ballet that provided extremely diversified artistic samples of space and stage creativity in the heritage of the 20th century, and probably, will continue to do so in the 21st. The question of dance interpretation in the architectural space is a significant independent subject of research in connection with the structure and evolution of the artistic image in contemporary choreographic art. Against the background of postmodernist modern style trends as a global creative principle of post-culture, this topic includes broad general aesthetic associations. It is vital to the understanding of the artistic process in contemporary art in general.

Abstract:
Abstract This article is an artistic reflection of a research project called Please Switch On Your Mobile Phones (PSOYMP) that took place in three venues in Wales in 2014. The aim of PSOYMP was to develop new tools for audience interaction with on-stage dance, with the intention of developing new audiences. The project utilised an action research model to create a flexible choreographic and digital hybrid system that enabled the audience to collaborate in real time with the creative team–a choreographer, five dancers, a digital artist and a technologist–using mobile phones and tablets. The project resulted in the creation of an hour-long performance event. This was developed through three stages that included a week-long residency in each stage and a public performance event with a feedback session at the end of each residency. The final event was streamed live via YouTube and a web-based application, which allowed the online audience to participate in the event and to collaborate with the creative team in a similar way to the in-house audience. This article focusses on the creative process and discusses the nature and the development of the collaboration between the creative team and the audience.

Abstract:
This article focuses on Y. Sobolev's artistic work in different media: magazine illustration, independent graphics, animation and video-art, in which he practiced playing with images taken from different eras of art history. The author is interested in the degree of independence and originality of the artist in addressing heterogeneous traditions and pre-existing images. This article aims to use examples of his works to illustrate specificity of Sobolev's imagery, as he embodied his interest in metaphysics, esoterics and codes of other cultures in his art. The author aims to reveal and analyse the intercontextual practices of the artist, their peculiarities with the consideration of the genre of his projects, the search for the background of Y. Sobolev's original vision of art in his biography and his personal preferences in literary and philosophical fields. The description and analysis of the artist's works in different media were used as a method, with the focus on the works of Y. Sobolev in the illustrations for the popular science periodicals, in particular, for the “Znanie sila” magazine and “Nauka i mankind” anthology. After the research it was established that Y. Sobolev, while actively referring to a wide range of contexts, never was eclectic, but created meta-cultural artistic space according to its own logic, according to which dialogue with the past serves to better disclose the new meanings and challenges emerging with the development of science and progress of the second half of the 20th century. The individual works of the artist are put together into a coherent work, in which he involved contemporary artists as well. In the scientific literature, a comprehensive approach to the chosen topic with a description and analysis of the specific illustrations appearing in this text has not yet been given.

Color transfer is to alter an image’s color composition by reference to the color characteristics of another image. In this paper, we build a system called artistic coloring that realizes automatic color transfer from famous paintings. It properly extracts the wonderful color characteristics of famous paintings and applies them to color transfer. Specially, we investigate the traditional color theme extraction methods and find their deficiencies. Based on this, we quantify the processing of human painting to find the main colors in the color palette and propose an artistic balanced color theme extraction algorithm aimed specially at paintings. In the experiments, a user study is carried out to evaluate the artistic balanced extraction method. Our proposed method achieves the highest score 3.98 in a 5-point evaluation, which is 41% higher than traditional methods at most. We have successfully tested the artistic coloring system on lots of images with different painting styles. The results are natural and have the similar color characteristics with their corresponding reference paintings.

The artistic features are the important provisions by which the ritual objects types and descriptions of different Christian churches can be characterized. In essence, identifying and grouping these features are the most complex processes. In this article, an attempt is made to present the artistic features of the ritual objects of the Armenian Church in general, interpreting them according to the types of objects. The ritual objects used during various rituals in the Armenian church, with their types and artistic features, developed and completed over time, forming a solid system, that both differs from and connects to the ritual objects of other Christian churches․ Armenian liturgical objects represent a set of Eastern, Western, and local traditions, forming the corresponding overall picture. The study of the objects shows that the system of design of objects was formed by including both Byzantine and later Western elements, mixing them with national artistic features, as a result of which a typical image of ritual objects was formed.

Abstract:
The article attempts to lay a foundation for highlighting the problem of artistically determined functioning of foreignlanguage elements in the narrative-text space of Dostoevsky's works as a special aspect of studying the writer's literary system. The processes of integration and interaction of languages and literary-artistic discourses are highly conditioned by the spatial-cultural interplay of countries and the dominant vector of their development, so the presence of a significant amount of material borrowed from French and German languages in the texts of Dostoevsky is quite expected to correlate with the idea of national-ideological and cultural priorities of Russian society of that time. The intensity of the creative reception of the material of other languages as one of the moments determining the individual originality of the artistic-speech semiosis, is also explained by the autobiographical factor – long stay of the writer in a foreignspeaking cultural environment and saturation of emotional-intellectual experience in the process of intercultural communication. On the basis of the study of Dostoevsky's creative heritage from this angle, it is possible to draw a conclusion about the diverse range of his use of foreign-language elements in his texts to solve artistic and narrative problems. The article analyzes the most relevant aspects of the writer's artistic and linguistic element in the application of foreign-language inserts in interaction with the material and the traditional system of expressive means of native language: the role in the construction of narrative discourse, intertextuality, reverse interference, occasional word formation, font transposition iconism. In view of the scientific and empirical significance of the problem, it seems necessary to continue its research on a broader theoretical and methodological basis, in particular – through interdisciplinary integration of the potential of linguistics and poetics.

Abstract:
This article describes the role of the punctuation system of language and its components, the formation of punctuation as the development of written communication, English and Kyrgyz punctuation in developing the literary discourse, as well as examples of literary and artistic discourse. Ten basic and generally accepted punctuation marks are considered using the example of literary discourses in the English and Kyrgyz languages. Discourse is defined as a coherent text that has ontological and epistemological properties. Here, an analysis of literary and artistic discourse is carried out; in general, the influence of English and Kyrgyz punctuation on the formation of literary artistic discourse is studied. For linguistic comparison, artistic discourses of a similar extra-linguistic event with a similar social and everyday theme in both compared languages are involved. In general, the ontological and epistemological functions of punctuation marks are applicable. The syntactic, semantic and intonation functions act as the main function and in the updated additional function. As a result, the dual functioning contributes to the establishment of discursive artistic meaning and its theme.

Abstract:
This paper presents a novel robotic painting system able to create artworks using the palette knife technique. The implementation of this method with a robotic system is particularly challenging, since the robot needs to precisely manipulate the palette knife to pick up and release the color on the canvas. The painting system comprises a 6-DOF collaborative robot, a camera to acquire the information on the color position, and several algorithms for the artistic rendering of the images and for the planning of the trajectories that the robot has to follow. During the painting process the user can modify multiple parameters: both software, for example, stroke position and orientation, and hardware, for example, palette knife inclination and height, to obtain different stroke effects. Finally, the experimental results are discussed by analyzing the artworks painted by the novel robotic system.

We define them as a holis- tic interconnected set of activities specially created within the educational process, which provides motiva- tion for students to artistic and creative activities and increases the level of formation of the components of artistic and aesthetic mindset. The set of pedagogical conditions is substantiated. It is aimed at motivat- ing students to perform artistic and creative activities and increasing the level of formation of the compo- nents of artistic and aesthetic mindset. These include: 1) creating a comfortable artistic and creative envi- ronment in the educational process; 2) the interaction of the content of professional disciplines with the subjects of socio-humanitarian cycles, aimed at forming components of the artistic and aesthetic mindset of artists; 3) involvement of students in extracurricular artistic and creative activities by activating inter- nal motivation through external stimulation; 4) ensuring the priority of practical activities in solving artis- tic problems through the study of nature in terms of ‘plein air’. The first pedagogical condition is consid- ered in two aspects: artistic and creative environment as a system of favorable external (physical) circum- stances and professional interaction between the teacher and the students. The second pedagogical con- dition reveals the thematic content of the subjects of the social-humanitarian cycle, which should be pro- fessionally oriented and organically connected with the specialty 023 ‘Fine arts, decorative arts, restora- tion’. The third pedagogical condition reveals the need to motivate students on which depends any activi- ty. The reasons for the appearance of redundancy in the Kyrgyz language can be found both in the history of the emergence of the Kyrgyz language and in the means of artistic expression. In the language of oral folk art, there are often means of organizing plurality, including pleonasms, which are a sequence of meaningful words expressing logically similar concepts, mainly as a means of concretization, amplification, and differentiation. In this scientific article, by comparison with other linguistic phenomena, we were able to determine the linguistic nature of pleonasms, their place in the language system, show the logical and stylistic prerequisites for their emergence and existence, the aesthetic function, the specifics of phraseological pleonasms, the function they perform. We were able to establish that pleonasms, in turn, were also used as artistic means.

Abstract:
This article attempts to improve the Ukrainian system of competencies for fine arts teachers in Ukraine. On the basis of the theoretical analysis of the approaches to classification of components of artistic and pedagogical competence (structural, system, functional), the article justifies the need to improve expected competencies in the context of motivational, cognitive and pratical components of education content. The article proves that the result of the formation of each of the selected components is the development of certain artistic and pedagogical knowledge, skills and experience of creative attitude to artistic and pedagogical activities, and the result of the formation of holistic artistic and pedagogical competence is the teacher's readiness for innovative artistic creativity, developed individual style of pedagogical activity. The motivational component of artistic and pedagogical competence of a teacher of fine arts is characterized by a set of cognitive guidelines, artistic and value orientations, creative interests related to the content of artistic and pedagogical activities; the cognitive component is defined as a system of knowledge about the essence, structure, functions and features of effective activity of a teacher of fine arts and optimal styles of pedagogical communication in unity with general cultural and specific fine arts knowledge; the practical component is manifested in the formation of the ability (communicative, organizational, diagnostic, projective, constructive, managerial, creative) to the effective implementation of the teacher of fine arts artistic and pedagogical functions. The international relevance of the article consists in the need of the post-Soviet countries to overcome conservative approaches in teaching creative courses and borrowing the innovative experience of the countries with ancient democratic traditions.

Abstract:
The subject of this article is the artistic features of the system of images and the image of the poet in the poems of M. Akhmedov. The system of images in the poems of M. Akhmedov is an integral mechanism that reveals the results of the poet's tireless artistic search, interprets many answers to the questions of the person and the poet. Modeling the poet's image in the system of images is not a new phenomenon in Avar poetry, nevertheless, it is an attempt by the poet to draw the reader's attention to universal problems again, to reveal the poet's vocation and the significance of his image in a new way, both in the system of images of the poetic text and in the consciousness of the poet himself, man and society. The object of the study is the image of the poet and the system of images in the poems of M. Akhmedov. The purpose of the work is to identify characteristic artistic techniques in creating the image of the poet, which occupies a significant place in the system of images of M. Akhmedov's poems, in understanding the essence of the artistic image, its dynamics and connections with the integral figurative system of the poet's poems. The scientific novelty of the research is due to the fact that the artistic analysis of the system of images and the image of the poet in the poems of M. Akhmedov in this aspect was undertaken for the first time. The obtained results showed that the artistic structure of the poet's image and the figurative system in the poems of M. Akhmedov allows to reconstruct, expand the poetic concept of the world order, to allocate a well-deserved place in it to the poet-man. The study of details related to the author's artistic intention showed the deep ideological content of M. Akhmedov's poems, as well as important features of the author's worldview. The theme of the poet and poetry, which is revealed through the image of the poet and the figurative system of M. Abstract:
The protection of artistic and cultural heritage is a major challenge due to its peculiarities and its exposure to significant natural hazards. Several methodologies exist to assess the condition of artistic heritage and to protect it from exceptional actions. Moreover, novel digital technologies offer many solutions able to deliver a digital replica of artifacts of interest, so that a reduction in the uncertainties in the analysis models can be achieved. A rational approach to the preservation and protection of artistic heritage is based on traditional approaches supported and integrated by novel technologies, so that qualitative and quantitative indicators of the current condition of artistic heritage can be defined and validated in an interdisciplinary framework. The present paper reports the results of an approach to the maintenance and preservation of art objects housed in a museum complex based on a comprehensive digital path towards a Historical Digital Twin (HDT). A workflow aimed at estimating the stress regime and the dynamic properties of two sculptures, based on the detailed three-dimensional model resulting from a laser scanner survey, is illustrated and discussed. The results highlight the great advantages resulting from the integration of traditional and novel procedures in the field of conservation of artistic assets.

Abstract:
Abstract The first official step toward active participation and interaction was made by John Cage, Allan Kaprow, George Brecht, and other artists connected to the happening and Fluxus movements from 1950-1960. Since than the conceptual art maximizes the importance given to the shape and interaction as an artistic product. Essentially, the installations named environmental art bring before the visitor of the exhibition, the viewer, the entire sensory experience, more than the canvas centered on a “neutral” wall or on isolated objects on a pedestal. Analyzing some of this art works we discover that the installations leave the space and time in their usual size with a desire to highlight and understand the experience in a critical manner. This involves dissolving the border between art and life. These interactive installations have been succeeded in the next decade of participatory projects which supported the idea of reflection on the relationship of the individual with technology and the others, but also explored it with other resources, even more direct.
