Pollution and waste are continually generated. The production of waste. however. has increased rapidly in recent years. An efficient and safe means of either neutralizing or disposing of this waste has been increasingly researched. In recent times, the potential of recycling and reusing the waste in construction works has been investigated. The studies have highlighted the benefits of such applications. In line with these studies, the current study investigated the suitability of using Incinerator Bottom Ash Waste (lBA W) as an alternative to conventional aggregates in the construction of road

碩士
弘光科技大學
環境工程研究所
102
There are approximate 8.40 million tones/year municipal solid waste treated by incinerator in Taiwan, and the amount of incineration fly ash is 6.70~7.15 million tones/year. Because the fly ash usually contains various hazardous species such as heavy metals and dioxin, currently the major treatment method of the fly ash by each incineration plant is solidification/stabilization and then landfill. With the decreasing landfill space and the possible risk of hazardous species released by leaching, how to treat and reuse the fly ash effectively is a critical issue

The incineration has become the major process to treat municipal solid waste due to the high volume reduction and energy recovery. About 20 municipal waste incinerators operate in Taiwan, and produce a large amount of the bottom ash and fly ash. Hazardous fly ash was generated from the incineration process due to the high proportion of heavy metal existing in input waste. Solidification of fly ash and subsequent landfill disposal has been

Ashes that contain heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Cr) are carcinogenic and will cause health problems. As fly ash is highly hazardous, it should be solidified before landfill. There is possible metal exposure among treatment workers. However, there is limited information existed on the occupational hazards in fly ash treatment plants(FATP). The objective of this study was to evaluate metal exposure in fly ash treatment plants through biological and environmental monitoring. 4

In this study, a nitrogen atmosphere thermal plasma process was used for the recovery of heavy metals from incineration bottom ash. And the influences of basicity adjusting, extra salts and carbon addition, for the metal recovery during thermal plasma treatment were discussed. The experimental results showed that the thermal plasma process could recover about 14.53% of Fe from the raw incineration bottom ash. And a higher Fe recovery of 1

To optimize the operation conditions in this study, pH control, sorbent additive and mixing time were examed. Results show that under high pH condition, pH = 12, better removal efficiency of COD and color in landfill leachate by coal fly ash addition is achieved. The pH were adjusted by lime and NaOH.
