Past surveys found a positive relation between job satisfaction and socioeconomic status, with Asian Americans scoring low and African Americans and Euro-Americans scoring higher. As job satisfaction is a component of happiness, the question arises whether this relationship holds for happiness in general. Responses of a sample of 499 Asian Americans, 24,432 Euro-Americans, and 2,828 African Americans were analyzed. <p> Childhood sexual abuse (CSA) among Filipino American men is a rarely discussed phenomenon and continues to be an understudied topic. To date, theories and empirical research on CSA disclosures are predominantly based on the experiences of White Euro-centric females and males. In this study, Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to analyze the narratives of 12 Filipino American men with CSA histories to gain a better understanding of their CSA disclosures. The primary purpose of this study was to examine the body image attitudes of Asian American and Caucasian American men and women. One hundred two Asian American and 139 Caucasian American college students responded to a mail survey and completed several measures related to body image attitudes along with measures of depression and self-esteem. Asian Americans who joined the OSS were highly qualified individuals. They were nearly all proficient or native in the Asian languages and were highly educated, many with advanced degrees. They held qualifications necessary for their assigned tasks as creators for propaganda materials, for gathering and interpreting data for strategic and tactical intelligence reports, and for conducting raids behind enemy lines; they were not relegated to menial tasks performed by bottom-ranked soldiers. Many were commissioned and noncommissioned officers, which meant that European American enlisted men had to salute and obey their orders. They were recruited from Asian immigrant communities that were politically divided and regionally attached, making any assessment of their recruits’ loyalty difficult at best, even if three-quarters of them were American-born or naturalized US citizens.

Based on the micro data of international and regional achievement tests, we map achievement onto a common (PISA) scale.
