Abstract:

The endangered tree species of the Aquilaria genus produce agarwood, a high value material produced only after wounding; however, conservation of Aquilaria seeds is difficult. The B3 transcription factor family has diverse important functions in plant development, especially in seed development, although their functions in other areas, such as stress responses, remain to be revealed. Here germination tests proved that the seeds of A. sinensis were recalcitrant seeds. To provide insights into the B3 superfamily, the members were identified and characterized by bioinformatic approaches and classified by phylogenetic analysis and domain structure. In total, 71 members were identified and classified into four subfamilies. Each subfamily not only had similar domains, but also had conserved motifs in their B3 domains. For the seed-related LAV subfamily, the B3 domain of AsLAV3 was identical to that of AsVALs but lacked a typical zf-CW domain such as VALs. AsLAV5 lacks a typical PHD-L domain present in Arabidopsis VALs. qRT-PCR expression analysis showed that the LEC2 ortholog AsLAV4 was not expressed in seeds. RAVs and REMs induced after wound treatment were also identified. These findings provide insights into the functions of B3 genes and seed recalcitrance of A. sinensis and indicate the role of B3 genes in wound response and agarwood formation.This is the first work to investigate the B3 family in A. sinensis and to provide insights of the molecular mechanism of seed recalcitrance.This will be a valuable guidance for studies of B3 genes in stress responses, secondary metabolite biosynthesis, and seed development.

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı Mu’tezile’nin <em>‘maslahat’</em> teorisinin incelenmesidir. Bu teori ‘aslah’ teorisi olarak bilinir. Fakat biz, onların ‘salah’ ve ‘aslah’ kavramlarına ayrı ayrı yer vermeleri sebebiyle konuya ilişkin doğru çatı kavramın, ‘<em>maslahat’ </em>olduğunu düşünüyoruz. Dolayısıyla Mu’tezile’nin salah ve aslah kavramlarına yaklaşımı bir bütün olarak ‘maslahat’ teorisi şeklinde ele alınmaya daha uygundur. Muhalif ekollerin salah-aslah teorisine yöneltmiş olduğu eleştirilere de çalışmada yer verilmiştir. Araştırmanın konu aralığında Mu’tezile’nin bu teoriden bir ekol olarak beklentisinin ne olduğu, bu teoriyi onların hangi ilkelere dayandırdığı ve teoriye ilişkin açmazlarını ortaya koyacak daha sonra da bu teoriye Müslüman ekolleri içerisinde yapılmış eleştirilere ve sebeplerine yer verilerek tarafların ilişkin değerlendirmeler ile çalışma sonuçlandırılmıştır. Değerlendirme bölümünde, çalışmanın konuya ilişkin görüş bildiren ekollerin soruna yaklaşım biçimlerine daha yakından bakılarak bir analiz sunulmuştur. Bu bağlamda salaha aslah meselesinin Müslüman dindarlığında oluşturduğu açmazlar daha yakından görülebilecektir. Bundaki amacımız, tarihsel tartışmaları yeniden açmak değil, kelamın günümüze uyarlanmasında doğacak sorunları daha yakından görmek çabasına ek olarak, ekollerin dînî yönelimlerinde yöntemlerinden doğan potansiyel sorunlara ilişkin farkındalığı arttırmaktır.

Abstract:

Background: Oligomenorrhea is a common complaint in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). There are some useful medicinal recommendations such as Aslagh product (include fennel fruits, carrot seeds, chaste tree fruits) in Iranian traditional medicine for the treatment of oligomenorrhea in PCOS. Hence, the present investigation was designed to compare Aslagh capsule with metformin on the oligomenorrhea. Materials and Methods: One hundred fifty women aged between 18-43 years with oligomenorrhea due to PCOS were randomly divided into Aslagh, metformin, and Aslagh + metformin groups. The occurrence of menstrual bleeding was considered as the primary outcome. Menstrual cyclicity, duration, and volume of the bleeding were also evaluated. Results: Occurrence of menstrual bleeding was 87.2% in all patients, with no significant difference between the three groups (P> 0.05). Menstrual cyclicity significantly improved from baseline in Aslagh and Aslagh+ metformin groups (P=0.02). Duration of menstrual bleeding was significantly higher in Aslagh group in the first and the second menstrual bleeding cycle compared to the other two groups (P<0.05). No significant change was observed in the volume of the bleeding after the intervention in any of the three groups. The occurrence of menstrual bleeding in Aslagh group was significantly (P=0.03) higher than the other two groups in the fourth month (drug-free period). Conclusion: Aslagh capsule showed beneficial effects similar to metformin in the treatment of oligomenorrhea in PCOS women and could be suggested for use as an alternative treatment in these patients. Abstract:

Abstract In Claude McKay’s Romance in Marseille, the entanglement of Spain and Morocco emerges through the diasporic figure of Aslima, the Moroccan sex worker. This essay examines McKay’s Maurophilia, which he circuitously refers to as “Afro-Orientalism” in his various writings. Maurophilia not only foregrounds Aslima’s associations with Spain and Morocco but also highlights McKay’s engagement with transhistorical Mediterranean diasporas, including the intra-African slave trade and Iberian Moriscos and conversos settling in North Africa following the Reconquista. This essay argues that while Aslima’s associations with Moorish-Iberian performance styles influence McKay’s modernist poetics and radical aspirations for a global pandiasporic Black alliance, Romance in Marseille ultimately forecloses the prospect of a pan-Mediterranean, Black Atlantic globalism because of contradictions of gender and religion.

Abstract:

Global advancement in nursing is attributed mainly to western pioneers with negligible recognition of Rufaidah Al-Aslamia, who was the first Muslim nurse, and pioneer in Islamic nursing more than 1,400 years ago in Madinah (Medina, Saudi Arabia). She responded to the need for the provision of organized nursing care to injured soldiers in the Islamic battles during the time of Prophet Mohammed (Peace & Blessings Upon Him). The paucity of focus on Rufaidah Al-Aslamia triggered this scientific study to appraise her contributions and legacy as the pioneer of Islamic nursing. A qualitative, historical research inquiry was conducted using a research design that was exploratory, descriptive, explanatory, interpretive, and contextual within the constructivist paradigm. Data collection of literature was conducted by purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted in two parts, which is document analysis, and thematic and content analysis with the use of deductive, inductive and abductive logical reasoning. The results of topic themes related to nurse-, patient-, and system-focused activities are provided with the emerging themes including efficient organizer, effective communication, clinical practice teacher, community care, and spiritual care. The historical narrative is reconstructed using empirical data sources as part of the discussion that includes the biography of Rufaidah Al-Aslamia and a vivid comprehensive portrayal of the contributions and legacy of Rufaidah Al-Aslamia as the first Muslim nurse and the pioneer of Islamic nursing. Abstrak Rufaidah Al-Aslamia, Perawat Muslim Pertama dan Pelopor Keperawatan Islam: Kontribusi dan Legasi. Kemajuan global di bidang keperawatan seringkali dikaitkan terutama dengan perintis barat dengan sedikit pengakuan terhadap Rufaidah Al-Aslamia, yang merupakan perawat Muslim pertama, dan pelopor dalam keperawatan Islam lebih dari 1.400 tahun yang lalu di Madinah (Arab Saudi). Rufaidah Al-Aslamia menanggapi kebutuhan penyediaan asuhan keperawatan yang terorganisir untuk tentara yang terluka dalam pertempuran Islam pada masa Nabi Muhammad (SAW). Kurangnya fokus pada Rufaidah Al-Aslamia memicu studi ilmiah ini untuk menilai kontribusi dan warisannya sebagai pelopor keperawatan Islam. Penelusuran sejarah dengan pendekatan kualitatif dilakukan dengan menggunakan desain penelitian yang bersifat eksploratif, deskriptif, eksplanatif, interpretif, dan kontekstual dalam paradigma konstruktivis. Pengumpul-an data literatur dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan dalam dua bagian, yaitu analisis dokumen, dan analisis tematik dan isi dengan menggunakan penalaran logis deduktif, induktif dan abduktif. Hasil dari topik yang berkaitan dengan kegiatan yang berfokus pada perawat, pasien, dan sistem disajikan dengan tema-tema yang muncul termasuk penyelenggara yang efisien, komunikasi yang efektif, guru praktik klinis, perawatan komunitas, dan perawatan spiritual. Narasi sejarah direkonstruksi menggunakan sumber data empiris sebagai bagian dari diskusi yang mencakup biografi Rufaidah Al-Aslamia dan penggambaran komprehensif yang jelas tentang kontribusi dan warisan Rufaidah Al-Aslamia sebagai perawat Muslim pertama dan pelopor keperawatan Islam. Abstract:

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : (1). Besarnya pendapatan pada agroindustri dodol sirsak “Aslina Segar Manis” di Desa Singaparna Kecamatan Singaparna Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. (2). Besarnya nilai tambah dari pengolahan buah sirsak menjadi dodol sirsak “Aslina Segar Manis” di Desa Singaparna Kecamatan Singaparna Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik penarikan sampel penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling, dengan pertimbangan karena agroindustri dodol sirsak satu-satunya di Desa Singaparna dan juga usahanya sudah lama yaitu 49 tahun. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : (1). Biaya yang dikeluarkan oleh agroindustri dodol sirsak “Aslina Segar Manis” di Desa Singaparna Kecamatan Singaparna Kabupaten Tasikmalaya dalam satu kali produksi adalah Rp. 1.619.154,45, dan penerimaan Rp. 2.250.000,00, sehingga memperoleh pendapatan Rp. 630.845,55. (2). Nilai tambah yang diperoleh pengusaha dodol sirsak “Aslina Segar Manis” di Desa Singaparna Kecamatan Singaparna Kabupaten Tasikmalaya yaitu Rp. 13.037,5 per kilogram.

Abstract:

W artykule autor ukazuje wizję Jezusa, jaką prezentuje R. Aslan. Ten muzułmański historyk religii, publicysta, telewizyjny komentator i prezenter Jezusa traktuje jako gorliwego Żyda – zelotę i rewolucjonistę. W ten sposób wpisuje się w nurt trzeciego poszukiwania Jezusa historycznego. Ukazuje jednak historię Nazarejczyka aspektowo. Podejmując analizę pracy muzułmanina, autor artykułu zwraca uwagę na założenia metodologiczne oraz ukazuje główne wątki życia Jezusa w świetle jego badań. W ostatniej części artykułu dokonuje oceny proponowanego wizerunku, odwołując się do fragmentów pracy P. Lisickiego oraz eseju R. Barrona dotyczącego książki muzułmańskiego badacza. Wizerunek Jezusa prezentowany przez R. Aslana jest skonstruowany pod z góry postawioną tezę. Muzułmański badacz wpisuje Nazarejczyka we własną wizję, którą wcześniej tworzy, odwołując się do kontekstu historycznego. R. Aslan posługuje się fałszywą hermeneutyką. Muzułmański badacz wybiórczo traktuje teksty Ewangelii. Z całości pism nowotestamentowych wybiera te, które potwierdzą Jego tezę. Wizja amerykańskiego badacza zdradza swoistą naiwność i brak naukowości. Wprawdzie R. Aslan przywołuje rozmaite biblijne autorytety, ale równocześnie zachowuje się tak, jakby całkowicie pomijał wyniki badań specjalistów. Przekonuje, że odkrywa Jezusa historycznego, przedchrześcijańskiego, który został całkowicie zafałszowany przez wyznawców Chrystusa. Deklaruje zaufanie do historii i nową próbę odczytanie Ewangelii, tymczasem postępuje całkowicie inaczej.

Abstract:

Novel feeding behaviour by adult Common Buff butterflies, Baliochila aslanga (Lycaenidae: Poritiinae), is reported on. Nectar assimilation from extra-floral nectaries is known for a number of members of the Poritiinae, and some species also obtain their energy requirements from hemipteran honeydew excrement. We document the first record for the genus Baliochila of an adult butterfly feeding at extra-floral nectaries. Baliochila aslanga was observed imbibing nectar from petiolar glands of Adenopodia spicata (Mimosaceae) in Sodwana Bay National Park in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The searching behaviour to locate the glands and subsequent feeding behaviour, as well as the petiolar glandular morphology, is described and supported by high quality photographs.

Abstract:

El presente trabajo es un intento por brindar una lectura de los eventos independentistas protagonizados por los consejos de ancianos de las comunidades miskitas de la Costa Caribe nicaragüense. Tomando en cuenta este objetivo, el texto es producto de una reflexión cuyos insumos proceden de la observación directa de los hechos, y del auxilio de la opinión calificada de periodistas locales, miembros de otras disciplinas profesionales y comunitarios participantes en los eventos. El texto se estructura en tres secciones. La primera es una valoración de los acontecimientos en la región. En la segunda se subraya someramente la importancia simbólico-cultural de los ancianos en la idiosincrasia comunitaria. La tercera y última sección intenta presentar el concepto de Nación Comunitaria de la Mosquitia y las demandas básicas de los ancianos. Efforts to foster the morals of students must be balanced with a da'wah strategy that is in accordance with the vision and mission of the Ma'had so that students can accept and feel positive moral changes in the learning process. The da'wah strategy implemented by Ma'had Qudsiyyah adheres to old traditions and adopts new, better things (al-muhafadhotu 'ala qodimis salih wal akhdzu bil jadidil aslah). This study uses a qualitative method with a field case study approach. The results of this study indicate a positive change in morals during activities at Ma'had Qudsiyyah.

Contrary to the general and common idea that Islam etymologically means submission, surrendering, servitude or even slavery, this paper tries to prove just the opposite, that Islam is a protest, an opposition and a revolution. The term Aslama, in fact, is ambiguous. It means to surrender to God, not to yield to any other power. It implies a double act : ﬁrst, a rejection of all non-Transcendental yokes; and second, an acceptance of the Transcendental Power. Islam, by this function, is a double act of negation and afﬁrmation. This double act is expressed in the utterance “I witness that there is no god except the God.”

Legumes develop root nodules in symbiosis with nitrogen-fixing rhizobial bacteria. Rhizobia evoke cell division of differentiated cortical cells into root nodule primordia for accommodating bacterial symbionts. In this study, we show that NODULE INCEPTION (NIN), a transcription factor in Lotus japonicus that is essential for initiating cortical cell divisions during nodulation, regulates the gene ASYMMETRIC LEAVES 2-LIKE18/LATERAL ORGAN BOUNDARIES DOMAIN16a (ASL18/LBD16a). Orthologs of ASL18/LBD16a in nonlegume plants are required for lateral root development. Coexpression of ASL18a and the CCAAT box–binding protein Nuclear Factor-Y (NF-Y) subunits, which are also directly targeted by NIN, partially suppressed the nodulation-defective phenotype of L. japonicusdaphne mutants, in which cortical expression of NIN was attenuated. Our results demonstrate that ASL18a and NF-Y together regulate nodule organogenesis. Thus, a lateral root developmental pathway is incorporated downstream of NIN to drive nodule symbiosis.

Abstract:

To find out the influence factors to the force situation of the coring pipe in the drilling process, the discrete element method is employed to build the lunar regolith model and simulate the interaction between soil and the drill. A viscoelastic contact model is introduced to represent the impact between particles. To make sure the validity of the model, a biaxial-test is conducted to optimize the micro-parameters of the model. The drilling process is simplified to an inserted process and the model after calibration is in use. From the computational simulation results, conclusions can be made: to reduce the drilling speed or to drill aslant may be good to decrease the force loaded on the inside wall. Enlargement of the diameter and thickness can improve the sampling efficiency and prevent the soil sample from being destroyed, and drilling aslant may be harmful to the sample.

This research method uses literature by analyzing published, unpublished books, journals and research that are in line with the theme of moderate Islamic education through NU-an Aswaja. The results of this study are that NU implements an educational education commanded by LP Maarif NU and principled on al muhafadhotu ala al qodimi as sholih wal akhdu bil jadidi al aslah to aim at forming humans who are rahmatan lin naturalin. In learning the values that are strengthened and internalized are tawazun (balanced), tawassuh (moderate), i`tidal (fair and heartless) and tasammuh (tolerance).
