Utvecklingen på Internet har varit och är fortfarande explosionsartad. Fram

till för ett par år sedan lanserades ständigt nya tekniker som syftar till attförenkla och förbättra webbens funktionalitet. I början av webbutvecklingseran var HTML det enda språk som användes. Idag både används HTML i symbios med och konkurrerar med ett flertal komplexa webbutvecklingsspråk och tekniker. ASP.Net är en av de nyare teknikerna på marknaden.

Denna undersökning har genom intervjuer med 15 respondenter på 15 webbutvecklingsföretag syftat till att ta reda på, hur utbredd användningen av ASP.Net är hos Sveriges webbutvecklingsföretag, varför ASP.Net används eller inte används och hur utbredd användningen av ASP.Net kan tänkas vara om två år.

Resultatet som erhållits visar att cirka hälften av Sveriges webbutvecklingsbolag använder ASP.Net aktivt idag. Det visar även på att det är den kraftigt ökade efterfrågan från beställarna som har lett till användningsgraden och som antagligen kommer att öka användningen. Antalet

företag som använder ASP.Net om två år förespås vara cirka 87 procent.

Webbspel blir allt populärare. Gävleföretaget Extrude Interactive

AB hade sedan en tid tillbaka planer på att lansera en spelsajt i

nöjessyfte men även i syfte att marknadsföra företagets

egenproducerade webbspel. Företaget hade redan en registrerad

domän: spelaspel.nu. I denna rapport redovisas utvecklingsarbetet

som ledde fram till den färdiga produkten som blev en färdigställd

webbplats tänkt att publiceras under domänen spelaspel.nu.

Webbplatsen använder sig av en SQL-databas och har utvecklats på

Microsofts ramverk .NET Framework 2.0. Webbplatsen

programmerades i C#, HTML och JavaScipt.

Denna rapport behandlar utvecklingen av en webbaserad e-handelslösning där nya tekniker för utveckling tillämpas. Olika tekniker för att skapa ett rikare och mer interaktivt gränssnitt beskrivs.

Hur utvecklar man en e-handelssida med dagens moderna tekniker?Vilka tekniker fungerar bäst? Det är frågor som dessa som ligger till grund för detta examensarbete. Vi fick i uppdrag av företaget Mil Tech i Västerås att utveckla en e-handelssida med kortbetalning och tillhörande administrationsgränssnitt.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var dels att ta reda på hur man utvecklar en ehandelssida med dagens moderna tekniker, vilka tekniker som är mest lämpliga för ändamålet samt att utveckla sidan efter kundens krav och önskemål. Vi har utvecklat en applikation där kunden själv kan hantera produkter och uppdatera sidans information och utseende. En användare skall kunna registrera sig och sedan genomföra ett köp.

Applikationen är utvecklad i ASP.NET 2.0 med programspråket C-Sharp (C#), då det är en relativt ny teknik med hög säkerhet och bra prestanda samt att den är bra associerad till den kraftfulla databashanteraren MS SQL Server 2005. Utöver programspråket använder applikationen sig av ASP.NET AJAX.

Utvecklingsmiljön består av Visual Studio 2005 Professional med versionshantering genom Subversion och databashantering genom MS SQL Server 2005 Express och MS SQL Server Management studio Express.

För att få tillgång till den information som behövdes för att genomföra arbetet användes främst internet eftersom vi behövde aktuell information och att det i dagsläget inte fanns tillräckligt uppdaterad litteratur.

De förberedelser som gjorts innan utvecklingsarbetet började var att samla information om hur e-handel med kortbetalning fungerar samt vad kundens önskemål var.

Hela webbsidan utom administrationsgränssnittet är språkberoende och kan ses på tre olika språk, svenska, engelska och tyska.

This report discusses the development of a web-based e-commerce solution where new technologies for development are applied. Different techniques for creating a richer and more interactive user interface are applied.

How do you develop an e-commerce website with today’s modern techniques? Which technologies are best suited? Questions like these are the basis for this graduation work and we have been given an assignment by a company called Mil Tech situated in Västerås, to develop an e-commerce website with card-payment and also with an administration interface.

The purpose with this graduation work is in part to find out how you develop an e-commerce website with today’s modern technologies, which technologies are best suited for the task and to adapt the site according to the customers wishes and demands. This will be done by developing an application where the customer can handle products and update the websites information and appearance. A user shall be able to register and carry out a purchase.

The application is developed in ASP.NET 2.0 with the developing language C-Sharp (C#). This is a relatively new technique with high security and performance, and also that it has good compatibility with the powerful database-handler MS SQL Server 2005. In addition to C# the application also uses ASP.NET AJAX Extensions.

Our developing environment is made up of Visual Studio 2005 Professional with version handling through Subversion and database handling through MS SQL Server 2005 Express and MS SQL Server Management studio Express.

To get the information we need for the project, the main source will be the Internet, because we need current information and today literature isn’t always up to date.

Preparations we did before developing were to gather information about e-commerce with card-payment, and going through the customers wishes and demands.

The entire website except the administration is language-dependent and can be viewed in three different languages, Swedish, English and German.

This dissertation is carried out on behalf of Two i Sverige AB. Two is a consulting agency which primarily works with the development of homepages. The company has several of its complete applications written in ASP e.g. the development of homepages. At the agency they have seen benefit migrating these applications from ASP to the more flexible environment ASP.NET. The motivation for the migration is that the company hopes that by using this technique they will be able to shorten the delivery time of completed products to customers and to develop homepages created in a more modular way. All of Two’s applications are today written in ASP. The company has requested documentation of the migration process to save time and to create a common standard for forthcoming migrations.

This dissertation describes the migration process of two applications made by “Two i Sverige AB” developed for the Internet. Also included is documentation of how the migration process should be performed.

The result of the project is two migrated applications that work with the .NET framework and have the same functionality as the original applications. The documentation of the migration process has resulted in a homepage that is situated on the company’s intranet.

Arbetet som denna uppsats beskriver är utfört på uppdrag av Two i Sverige AB. Two är ett konsultbolag som i första hand arbetar med utveckling av hemsidor. Företaget har flera av sina färdiga applikationer för bl.a. uppbyggnad av hemsidor skrivna i språket ASP. Man har på företaget sett vinster med att konvertera dessa applikationer från ASP till den mer flexibla miljön ASP.NET. Motivering till konverteringen är att företaget anser att man efter konvertering till ASP.NET kommer att kunna förkorta leveranstiden av färdiga produkter till kund, samt lättare skapa hemsidor uppbyggda med moduler. Idag är Two:s samtliga applikationer skrivna i ASP. Företaget vill även ha en dokumentation över konverteringsprocessen för att spara tid och att skapa en gemensam standard inför kommande konverteringar.

Denna uppsats beskriver konverteringsprocessen för två av företagets applikationer och även dokumentation för hur konverteringsprocessen bör se ut.

Resultatet av arbetet är två konverterade applikationer som fungerar på .NET ramverket och har samma funktionalitet som de ursprungliga applikationerna. Dokumentationen av konverteringsprocessen har resulterat i en hemsida som är belägen på företagets intranät.

Vi har i vår studie tittat på dynamisk webbprogrammering med fokus på Microsofts senaste teknik ASP.NET. Studien syftar till att ta reda på varför systemutvecklande organisationer infört ASP.NET, vilka förväntningar de har på tekniken och vilka utvecklingsverktyg som används. Vi har arbetat enligt ett hermeneutiskt synsätt för att få kvalitativ förståelse och ett helhetsperspektiv. Vi har valt semistrukturerade intervjuer för datainsamling och för analysen har vi valt en anpassad variant av Grundad teori.

Vårt resultat visar att några av anledningarna till införandet av ASP.NET hos organisationerna i studien beror dels på att de vill ligga långt fram i användandet av nya tekniker, dels upplever de att krav ställs på dem att de ska tillhandahålla och behärska de senaste utvecklingsteknologierna. Få uttalade förväntningar fanns på ASP.NET vid införandet och som utvecklingsverktyg används uteslutande Microsoft Visual Studio.NET som anses vara ett kraftfullt verktyg. Microsofts licensavtal och dominans på marknaden har också påverkat.

Några av slutsatserna blir att konkurrensfördelar kan erhållas genom en övergång till ASP.NET. Systemintegration blir enklare, vilket kan attrahera nya kundgrupper. Bättre möjligheter till struktur i programmeringen gör projekt lättare att planera och system lättare att underhålla.

In our research we have studied dynamical Web programming with the latest technology from Microsoft, ASP.NET. The purpose of the study is to find out why system developing organizations have introduced ASP.NET, what expectations of the technology they have and which development tools they use. We have worked according to a hermeneutical approach in order to get a qualitative understanding and a comprehensive view. We have chosen semi structured interviews for data acquisition and for analyze we have chosen an adapted variant of Grounded Theory.

Our result shows that some reasons to why the organizations in the study have introduced ASP.NET are that they will be in the frontline regarding the use of new technologies. They also feel that there is an expectation of them to use and know the latest of development technologies. There weren’t much explicit expectations of ASP.NET during the introduction. All of the organizations in the research used Microsoft Visual Studio.NET as development tool, because it is a powerful tool. The license agreement with Microsoft and its dominance on the market has also influenced them.

Some of our conclusions are that the organizations could have some competitive advantages if they introduce ASP.NET. System integration will be easier, which can attract new groups of customers. The possibilities to structure in the programming will make projects easier to plan and the maintaining of systems will be simpler.

Användning av gamla informationssystem (IS) innebär problem i form av underhållningskostnader, utbyggnadsproblem och dålig interaktion med anställda (Bisbal, Lawless, Wu & Grimson 1999).

Problemen leder till att företag vill byta ut sina gamla IS mot nya. I detta arbete behandlas migration, det vill säga då all funktionalitet från ett gammalt IS ska överföras till ett nytt (Bisbal m.fl, 1999).

Arbetet syftar till att skräddarsy en befintlig migrationsmetod så att en generell migrationsmetod blir unik och kan användas till just det användarfall som åsyftas i arbetet. Den migrationsmetod som skräddarsyddes var The Butterfly Methodology. Genom att följa de faser och aktiviteter som migrationsmetoden innehåller erhölls ett antal resultat som initierade en migrationsprocess.

De slutsatser som arbetet kom fram till var att genom att skräddarsy en migrationsmetod kunde en generell arbetsprocess göras unik så att den passade det användarfall som tas upp i arbetet. Migrationsmetoden innehöll även ett antal faser och aktiviteter som utgjorde stöd vid migrationsprocessen

Detta arbete behandlar utvecklingen av en komplett webbsida för Grenna Museum innehållande en administrerbar webbutik.

Implementationen är baserad på designoriginal från företaget Cargando. Baserat på denna design skapades grunden till webbsidan med hjälp av tekniker såsom XHTML och CSS. Därefter lades dynamiskt innehåll i text- såväl som bildformat till med hjälp av ASP.NET och språket C#. En databas skapades för att lagra textinnehåll såväl som produktinformation, båda vilka är möjliga att redigera i webbsidans administrationsgränssnitt.

Resultatet av arbetet är en fullt fungerande webbapplikation med avancerade möjligheter till produktadministration. Arbetet har visat att verktygen som .NET-ramverket erbjuder varit lämpliga att nyttja för applikationer av denna typ. Webbsidan är redo att lanseras och samarbetet mellan författaren och uppdragsgivaren har fungerat mycket väl.

S2 CRM is a Customer Relations Management system built in classic ASP that runs on a web server servicing customers with varying needs. The purpose of this thesis work is to convert parts of the system to the web development environment ASP.NET. The purpose is also to gain knowledge of the framework itself. The ASP.NET environment is compared with another framework, JBoss Seam, in order to understand the differences and to evaluate the possibility of using another framework than ASP.NET, when building the new system. The outcome of this comparison is that although JBoss Seam is just as good, and in some aspects better than ASP.NET, the use of ASP.NET simplifies the continuation of development on the S2 CRM product. The conversion that was made includes a way to share information between the new and the old system, an implementation of listing and search modules and an approach to the data model and techniques for achieving good performance. Modularity is also an important aspect of the work, and this was achieved by constructing controls that can be used in different contexts, configurable by configuration objects. The result of the thesis is a basic system for listing and searching that can coexist with the original system and that can be built further upon to create a new version of S2 CRM that fully runs on the ASP.NET platform.

Nowadays there are different forms and technologies for implementing web applications without much concern for their architectural model. Without a good and stable architecture those applications may fail during their operations. Thus, this thesis project is focused on exploring different architectural models for creation of web solutions. Moreover, this thesis project is also part of the collaboration between Linnaeus University and Ljungby municipality with the aim to create a system that grow up local economies by showing the local producers’ locations, providing customers with different information about the products etc. The result of the thesis shows that an application can be developed in various architectural models. The choice of one architectural model over another depends on the project needs. I found that by using ASP.NET MVC framework there is more separation of concerns, easy maintenance of the code, and unit testing for an application. Search engine of find local food system can be used to search for different local producer’s location and their services.

Every year a plethora of students come to pursue their careers at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). The university supports an arena of web portals for enrollment, courses, department, student recreation and wellness amongst others.

Although there are enrollment services available, they involve mandatory check-ins and paperwork. GoSchoolPro portal eases the process of enrollment for the students by providing convenient services. This portal will not only help in facilitating the process for the incoming students but will also give voice to the past experiences of the alumni. It will be a student democrat: For the students and by the students.

The current project presents GoSchoolPro as a web application, which leverages the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture as its foundation and implements the Active Server Pages using Dot NET (ASP.NET) framework. GoSchoolPro uses the backbone of the Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) methodology and other Software Engineering (SE) best practices.

This report describes how we, with support from SYSteam Datakonsult AB Värnamo

builds a dynamic website for a fictional company. The purpose of this work is to tie

together our studies with the businesses in the region, and expand our knowledge.

Together with Peter Bäckrud from SYSteam we worked out the goals to achieve this

purpose. The goals are to create a polished intranet to a company with the webpage

publishing tool EPIserver

This report begins with describing the goals and visions that were set up. Then follows a

thorough theoretical background that describes the areas we have touched, to give the

reader an idea about the work. The report then moves into the creation phase that talks

about the problem that occurred during development.

The creation phase is split up into two parts where the first part gives a good description

about how we designed a usability friendly website that would fulfill the goals we had set

up. The other part talks about programming and the implementation of the different

features on the website.

Finally there’s an evaluation of the website from a usability perspective to give us an idea

of how good we made the design. We also evaluate EPIserver to give our views on the

software which none of us has worked with before.

Denna rapport beskriver hur vi, med stöd från SYSteam Datakonsult i Värnamo AB,

bygger en dynamisk webbplats till ett påhittat företag. Syftet med vårt examensarbete har

varit att knyta samman studier med företagsverksamheten i regionen, och genom detta

vidga våra vyer kunskapsmässigt.

Tillsammans med Peter Bäckrud från SYSteam utarbetade vi en målformulering för att

uppnå detta syfte. Målet blev således att skapa ett attraktivt intranät till ett företag med

hjälp av webbpubliceringsverktyget EPIserver.

Rapporten börjar med att utförligt beskriva de mål och visioner som sattes upp. Vidare

följer en ingående teoretisk bakgrund som beskriver de områden vi har berört, för att ge

läsaren en uppfattning kring arbetet. Rapporten går sedan vidare in på

genomförandefasen som tar upp de problem som blev en naturlig följd under

utvecklingsskedet.

Genomförandefasen delas sedan upp i två delar där första delen ger en ingående

beskrivning om hur vi designmässigt skapade en användarvänlig webbplats som skulle

uppfylla de krav som målformuleringen ställde. Den andra delen i genomförandefasen tar

upp den programmering och implementering som krävts, för att få de funktioner vi valt

att fungera.

Slutligen sker en utvärdering av webbplatsen ur ett användbarhetsperspektiv detta för att

ge oss en uppfattning om hur pass bra vi lyckats med designen. Vi utvärdera också

EPIserver för att ge våra synpunkter på programvaran som ingen av oss tidigare har

jobbat med.
