Background: Hepatoxicity is a major complication and side effect of antiretroviral therapy (ART). Unfortunately, such studies in this area of evaluating the adverse drug reaction of ART on the liver hepatocytes are only few in number in Nigeria. Objective: To determine the levels of some liver enzymes in HIV/AIDS patients on antiretroviral therapy (ART) and as well evaluate their impact on liver hepatocytes. Methods: This is a hospital-based case-control study. A total of 153 subjects were recruited in the study, and they were divided into three groups: the control group (which consist of appare

The effect of chromium chloride (Cr3+, 200 µg/kg of the combined feed) on the state of rabbits antioxidant system and amino transferases activity was studied. It was found that chromium entailed the increase of activity of catalase, glutathione peroxidase and the content of reduced glutathione in the animals’ blood. It was established that the activity of aspartate amino transferase in the exposured rabbits’ blood is greater than in the animals of control group.

Among the most prevalent medical conditions affecting newborns, kids, and adults is jaundice. Jaundice is not an illness; rather, it is a symptom of liver disease that is evident when there is an increase in bilirubin levels, particularly in the blood due to aberrant metabolism and excretion in the urine. Long ago, our forefathers employed medicinal herbs, especially to cure jaundice problems. The usage of these herbal remedies is increasing quickly in the modern day because to their lower or nonexistent adverse effects and affordability when compared to synthetic medications. Ind

The nuclei of dates, from domestic consumption or as waste from the agro-food sector (date tab, syrup, oi etc.) on a small or large scale, or simply contained in the inedible dates, which remain abandoned in palm trees, are a very interesting material for the production of high value added products. They consist mainly of plant cell walls (cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin) that represent 82% to 92% of the initial dried material. Abstract:
Unlike other group transfer reactions in biochemistry, the actions of nitrogen transferring enzymes do not follow a single unifying chemical principle. Nitrogen-transferring enzymes catalyze aminotransfer, amidotransfer, and amidinotransfer. An aminotransferase catalyzes the transfer of the NH2 group from a primary amine to a ketone or aldehyde. An amidotransferase catalyzes the transfer of the anide-NH2 group from glutamine to another group. These reactions proceed by polar reaction mechanisms. Aminomutases catalyze 1,2-intramolecular aminotransfer, in which an amino group is inserted into an
