Full textThe aim of this study is to investigate how many of the men and women sentenced to prison that suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It also aims to answer the question of however there is a difference between sexes according to prevalence, and the correlation between ADHD and antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). The method used is self-report questionnaires which are well tested for this purpose, Wender-Utah Rating Scale (WURS) and Mini Neuropsychiatric Interview (M.I.N.I). The questionnaires were answered by 49 male and female prison inmates, who were residing in prisons in mid-Sweden. The results of the study show that a high number of the population suffers from both ADHD and ASPD. The differences in sexes were not statistically significant, but based on numbers the females are higher in prevalence than the males in ADHD. Since there were few males in this study, the results, however, need to be interpreted with caution.

Full textThe present Master's Dissertation consists of an introductory chapter in which four axes are presented. They constitute the theoretical structure involving two empirical studies presented in article format. The studies were carried out at the Presídio Central in Porto Alegre. The sample comprised 50 inmates, ranging from 18 to 35 years old. In the first study, two instruments were used: The Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI) and the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI). It attempted to verify the quality of affective bonds between the inmates and their parents as well as to assess the main psychiatric histories which affected this population. For the data statistical analysis, the t Test and the Chi-square Test were used. The results revealed the presence of several psychiatric disorders and problems involving the affective bonds between parents and their sons. There was a high incidence of the use/dependency of drugs, with marijuana and crack being the most used. Those inmates who presented Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) also presented biparental failure. Independently from the psychiatric diagnosis, the most frequent crimes are the ones against the patrimony. The second study investigated the relation between the use of drugs and the risky sexual behavior for HIV/AIDS. In this study, the Addiction Severity index (ASI6) was the instrument used to assess the severity of dependency and sexual behavior. The results showed that, with the advent of crack, there was a decrease in the number of injecting drug users (IDU). Nevertheless, it was found that the risk for contamination with the HIV virus is still high among the inmates. There are two possible reasons for this to happen: a general disregard with health and the fact that sex became a certain kind of currency to be exchanged for drugs. Both studies are relevant since they demonstrate some unknown aspects about the reality of those inmates.

Segundo dados do ministério da ciência e tecnologia (MCT), o mercado brasileiro na área de software é composto predominantemente por micro e pequenas empresas (MPEs), cujos processos são executados geralmente de modo informal, improvisado e com pouca visibilidade. Esse cenário gera uma série de dificuldades a essas organizações, tornando-as enfraquecidas para competir no mercado e crescerem. Uma alternativa para a mudança desse quadro é o investimento em estabelecimento de processos sistemáticos de software, já que a qualidade dos produtos desenvolvidos são altamente influenciados pelos seus processos de produção. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho propõe e avalia a abordagem ASPE/MSC (Approach for Software Process Establishment in Micro and Small Companies), cujo objetivo é estabelecer processos de software em MPEs, considerando suas características e limitações. Seu desenvolvimento está baseado em estudos sobre estabelecimento de processos de software, na adaptação de técnicas e abordagens existentes nessa área de pesquisa e na experiência em modelagem de processos de software, obtida pelo LQPS - Laboratório de Qualidade e Produtividade de Software da UNIVALI e pelo Grupo de Qualidade de Software do centro GeNESS. A avaliação da abordagem é realizada por meio de dois estudos de caso, executados em duas pequenas empresas de software em Florianópolis/SC. Os principais resultados do trabalho são a abordagem ASPE/MSC e as experiências obtidas com a execução dos estudos de caso, que incluem dados qualitativos e quantitativos. A abordagem ASPE/MSC está documentada na forma de um guia, que descreve detalhadamente as atividades que a compõem, os papéis envolvidos na execução das respectivas atividades, templates de documentos para auxiliar na sua aplicação e diretrizes para sua execução num contexto real. A perspectiva do trabalho é auxiliar micro e pequenas empresas de software a se fortalecerem no mercado, através da melhoria contínua dos seus processos. Com isso, espera-se que, MPEs possam alcançar gradativamente patamares mais elevados de qualidade, produtividade e competitividade.

Full textIt has, been taken for granted that Hafez al-Asad relies exclusively upon an iron fist to perpetuate the survival of his regime. Close scrutiny of Asad's presidency, however, betrays the inadequacy of this explanation. In fact, Syria's conflict with Israel is the primary legitimizing agent for Asad's minority-Alawi regime, and it is because of this conflict that Asad's regime has endured. Consequently, the absence of a militant confrontation with Israel poses risks which the present Syrian leadership has been unwilling to assume. Furthermore, this condition acts as a restraint upon certain types of foreign policy activities and initiatives which Asad might otherwise elect to pursue. The reality of Israel's legitimizing function has specific relevance to U.S. foreign policy vis-a-vis both Syria and Israel, particularly regarding the peace process. Full textHårdgörning av trä syftar till att göra materialet hårdare. Detta går att åstadkomma genom komprimering, det komprimerade materialet tenderar dock att återgå mot sin ursprungsform då materialet utsätts för fukt om ingen låsning sker. Låsningen kan ske mekaniskt i en treskiktskonstruktion som motverkar träets fuktrörelser. Dessa skivor har dock visat sig vara instabila och tidigare försök har uppvisat deformationer i form av kupning. Denna undersökning syftar till att utreda förutsättningarna för att använda komprimerad asp samt att ta fram underlag för framtagning av en kommersiell produkt.
Praktiska tester har genomförts för att studera hårdhet, återfjädring och densitet hos det komprimerade virket. Vidare har treskiktsskivor tagits fram för att testa om det går att få en stabil konstruktion genom att variera tjockleken på spärrskiktet. Även skillnader i acklimatiseringstid och fuktkvotens inverkan för virkets återfjädring har studerats.
Resultaten visar på att aspens hårdhet efter komprimering blir i samma nivå som bok och ask, en låg fuktkkvot vid komprimering av materialet ger en låg återfjädring, komprimerat material har en längre acklimatiseringstid till jämviktsfuktkvot och materialet går att låsa tvärs fiberriktningen i en treskiktskonstruktion.
To make wood harder it can be densified. This can be achieved by compression, the compressed material tends to return to the original shape when it is exposed to moisture fluxations and if no form of fixation occurs. The fixation can be done mechanically in a three-layer panel construction which reduce movements in the timber. These panels have been found to be unstable and previous attempts have shown deformations in form of cupping. This study aims to evaluate the conditions for using compressed aspen wood, and to provide a basis for development of a commercial product.
Practical tests have been conducted to study hardness, springback and density of the compressed wood. In addition, three-layer panels have been developed to test whether it is possible to have a stable construction by varying the thickness of the buttom layer. Differences in acclimatisation time and the moisture contents effect on the springback has aslo been studied.
The results show that the hardness of aspen wood after compression is in equal levels with beech and ashes, a low moisture contet provides a low springback, compressed timber have a longer time for acclimatisation and it is possible to fixate the material in the direction across the grain in a three-layer panel construction.

Full textLimited research exists on what the general population knows about ASD. Previous research that does exist shows that there is variability in what people believe as symptoms, causes, and treatments of ASD. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect that ASD training has on university students’ general knowledge about ASD. One hundred two college-aged students were randomly assigned to one of three conditions: Myths and Facts condition, Myths condition, or Control condition. Pretest and posttest data were collected to examine the likeliness of participants correctly identifying general knowledge of ASD. A mixed-model ANOVA and independent samples t-tests showed that from pretest to posttest, an ASD Myths and Facts Presentation as well as an ASD Myths Presentation significantly increased the likelihood of participants correctly identifying knowledge about ASD. Qualitative data was also examined regarding the percentage of participants answering in agreement to each question from pretest to posttest.

The last owner, Emily Piper, donated the property and wish to preserve the castle in order to sensible up it pursues the general public that one “ really typical examples of a noble home on an old Swedish goods during 1800‐century”. Today, Linköpings skogstjänst carried out the property that apart from castle consist some thousand hectares land‐ and woodland and 39 residential building and amount of economy buildings. The majority farms are today lease to farmers but to the turn of the year comes a farm, Aspa Gård back to the manager that takes over the responsibility for leasing and maintain. In my work I have produce drawings and maintaining plans for three residential building that is located on Aspa Gård. The houses have been measured up both inside and outside to get basis to blueprints. For the maintaining plans, the houses have also been inspected. On the basis of the results of the´inspection can the housesʹ condition be known and maintaining plans to be established. The housesʹ maintain has been inadequate during many years and that it is needed extensive renovate on the houses. The most important to deal with is the ceilings, facades and bathrooms.

Full textL'etiologia dels trastorns de l'espectre autista (TEA), un grup de malalties del neurodesenvolupament d’aparició primerenca caracteritzades per problemes de comunicació, relació social, i per la presencia d’interessos restringits, és desconeguda per un terç dels individus afectats. La intensa investigació feta durant l'última dècada ha revelat una gran contribució genètica en aquesta malaltia, mentre que de l’epigenètica tot just es comença a evidenciar. Les marques epigenètiques, sense alterar la seqüència genètica subjacent, tenen un efecte en l'expressió dels gens. A la vegada, aquestes marques epigenètiques es poden veure afectades per mutacions genètiques a la seqüència. Així doncs, la recerca en genòmica, epigenòmica i transcriptòmica proporcionarà informació convergent per determinar les causes dels TEA, indispensable per establir millores en els protocols de diagnòstic i en estratègies terapèutiques, facilitant el diagnòstic precoç i el tractament personalitzat, crucial per a un millor pronòstic. Les nostres dades mostren que hi ha alteracions genètiques i epigenètiques associades al fenotip, que interactuen i tenen conseqüències sobre l’expressió gènica. També hem trobat regions amb alteracions epigenètiques, que sembla que contribueixen de manera additiva i seguint un model complex. Finalment, trobem marques epigenètiques específiques de grups de genotips TEA. En el futur, la millora de les tecnologies disponibles per avaluar l’epigenòmica, i la disponibilitat d'un epigenoma de referència en diversos teixits i tipus cel•lulars, serviran com a base per fer un pas cap endavant en l'establiment de l’etapa del desenvolupament, dels tipus cel•lulars i els teixits involucrats en els mecanismes epigenètics del trastorn.

Full textBakgrunden till denna undersökning är den växande ASP-marknaden samt säkerhetsproblematiken som finns i en ASP-lösning.
Syftet är att utreda de säkerhetsaspekter som bör beaktas vid en Application Service Provider (ASP)-lösning. Olika aspekter har samlats in dels från litteraturen och dels med hjälp av intervjuer. En uppdelning har gjorts med avseende på mål, hot och kontroll. De mål som först och främst behandlas är de som berör integritet, konfidentialitet och tillgänglighet. De hot som tas upp och som delvis är specifika för en ASP-lösning är ASP-företagets ekonomi och personal samt kommunikationskanalen mellan ASP-företag och ASP-kund. Kontroller som tas upp är med hänsyn till hoten ovan bland annat kontroll av ASP-företagens ekonomi, att personalen kontrollerats samt kontroll av kommunikationsförbindelserna mellan ASP-företaget och kunden. Resultatet av undersökningen är bland annat tio kontrollpunkter med de viktigaste frågorna som en blivande ASP-kund bör ställa till ASP-företaget.

Full textThis dissertation is carried out on behalf of Two i Sverige AB. Two is a consulting agency which primarily works with the development of homepages. The company has several of its complete applications written in ASP e.g. the development of homepages. At the agency they have seen benefit migrating these applications from ASP to the more flexible environment ASP.NET. The motivation for the migration is that the company hopes that by using this technique they will be able to shorten the delivery time of completed products to customers and to develop homepages created in a more modular way. All of Two’s applications are today written in ASP. The company has requested documentation of the migration process to save time and to create a common standard for forthcoming migrations.
This dissertation describes the migration process of two applications made by “Two i Sverige AB” developed for the Internet. Also included is documentation of how the migration process should be performed.
The result of the project is two migrated applications that work with the .NET framework and have the same functionality as the original applications. The documentation of the migration process has resulted in a homepage that is situated on the company’s intranet.
Arbetet som denna uppsats beskriver är utfört på uppdrag av Two i Sverige AB. Two är ett konsultbolag som i första hand arbetar med utveckling av hemsidor. Företaget har flera av sina färdiga applikationer för bl.a. uppbyggnad av hemsidor skrivna i språket ASP. Man har på företaget sett vinster med att konvertera dessa applikationer från ASP till den mer flexibla miljön ASP.NET. Motivering till konverteringen är att företaget anser att man efter konvertering till ASP.NET kommer att kunna förkorta leveranstiden av färdiga produkter till kund, samt lättare skapa hemsidor uppbyggda med moduler. Idag är Two:s samtliga applikationer skrivna i ASP. Företaget vill även ha en dokumentation över konverteringsprocessen för att spara tid och att skapa en gemensam standard inför kommande konverteringar.
Denna uppsats beskriver konverteringsprocessen för två av företagets applikationer och även dokumentation för hur konverteringsprocessen bör se ut.
Resultatet av arbetet är två konverterade applikationer som fungerar på .NET ramverket och har samma funktionalitet som de ursprungliga applikationerna. Dokumentationen av konverteringsprocessen har resulterat i en hemsida som är belägen på företagets intranät.

Full textNa área da Educação Especial, a elaboração do planejamento acadêmico depende de uma avaliação prévia das dificuldades e habilidades dos alunos para posteriormente elaborar uma intervenção de acordo com o que foi avaliado. Porém, os professores especializados nem sempre têm disponível um instrumento para avaliar e articular os dados dessa avaliação para uma intervenção pedagógica. No caso específico do aluno com paralisia cerebral, essa dificuldade pode ser atribuída à diversidade de características físicas e cognitivas que devem ser avaliadas e a relação delas com as exigências do meio. Diante disso, o objetivo do presente trabalho foi elaborar e avaliar a aplicabilidade da avaliação sistematizada para professores de alunos com paralisia cerebral (ASPA-PC) para avaliar alunos com paralisia cerebral, matriculados no 1º, 2º e 3º ano do Ensino Fundamental, para subsidiar o planejamento curricular e a estratégias de ensino. O estudo foi elaborado em três etapas. Na primeira etapa foi realizado o Estudo Piloto no qual uma aluna com paralisia cerebral foi avaliada com o uso de um instrumento de avaliação já publicado. A análise dos resultados da primeira etapa subsidiou a elaboração da primeira versão do ASPA-PC na segunda etapa. Ainda nessa etapa, a partir da avaliação de quatorze alunos com o uso do ASPA-PC foi indicado um kit de avaliação e um manual de aplicação que foram utilizados por professoras do atendimento educacional especializado. Os resultados das etapas anteriores definiram a divisão do ASPA-PC em ASPA-PC KIT I para avaliar alunos até o 2º ano e ASPA-PC KIT II para avaliar alunos do 3º ano do Ensino Fundamental, resultando na sua versão definitiva, na terceira etapa. In the area of Special Education, an academic plan development depends on a previous assessment of the difficulties and abilities of students to enable an intervention according to what has been reported. However, specialist teachers do not always have an available tool to assess and articulate the data from this assessment for an educational intervention. In the specific case of students with cerebral palsy, this difficulty can be attributed to the diversity of physical and cognitive characteristics that must be assessed and compared with the demands of the environment. Therefore, the aim of this research was to develop and evaluate the applicability of systematic assessment for teachers of students with cerebral palsy (ASPA-PC) to assess students with cerebral palsy enrolled in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades of Elementary School, to support curriculum planning and teaching strategies. The study was prepared in three steps: in the first step, a pilot study was conducted when a student with cerebral palsy was assessed with the use of an assessment tool already published in the literature. The results of the first step subsidized the development of the first version of ASPA - PC in the second step. Still in the second step, based on the assessment of fourteen students using ASPA-PC, a kit and an application manual that was used by Special Education teachers and was referred. The results of the previous steps defined the separation of the material in two parts: ASPA-PC and ASPA-PC KIT I to assess students up to the 2nd grade and ASPA-PC KIT II to assess students of the 3rd grade of elementary school resulting in its final version during the third phase. Resumo: Na área da Educação Especial, a elaboração do planejamento acadêmico depende de uma avaliação prévia das dificuldades e habilidades dos alunos para posteriormente elaborar uma intervenção de acordo com o que foi avaliado. Porém, os professores especializados nem sempre têm disponível um instrumento para avaliar e articular os dados dessa avaliação para uma intervenção pedagógica. No caso específico do aluno com paralisia cerebral, essa dificuldade pode ser atribuída à diversidade de características físicas e cognitivas que devem ser avaliadas e a relação delas com as exigências do meio. Diante disso, o objetivo do presente trabalho foi elaborar e avaliar a aplicabilidade da avaliação sistematizada para professores de alunos com paralisia cerebral (ASPA-PC) para avaliar alunos com paralisia cerebral, matriculados no 1º, 2º e 3º ano do Ensino Fundamental, para subsidiar o planejamento curricular e a estratégias de ensino. O estudo foi elaborado em três etapas. Na primeira etapa foi realizado o Estudo Piloto no qual uma aluna com paralisia cerebral foi avaliada com o uso de um instrumento de avaliação já publicado. A análise dos resultados da primeira etapa subsidiou a elaboração da primeira versão do ASPA-PC na segunda etapa. Ainda nessa etapa, a partir da avaliação de quatorze alunos com o uso do ASPA-PC foi indicado um kit de avaliação e um manual de aplicação que foram utilizados por professoras do atendimento educacional especializado. Os resultados das etapas anteriores definiram a divisão do ASPA-PC em ASPA-PC KIT I para avaliar alunos até o 2º ano e ASPA-PC KIT II para avaliar alunos do 3º ano do Ensino Fundamental, resultando na sua versão definitiva, na terceira etapa. Full textS2 CRM is a Customer Relations Management system built in classic ASP that runs on a web server servicing customers with varying needs. The purpose of this thesis work is to convert parts of the system to the web development environment ASP.NET. The purpose is also to gain knowledge of the framework itself. The ASP.NET environment is compared with another framework, JBoss Seam, in order to understand the differences and to evaluate the possibility of using another framework than ASP.NET, when building the new system. The outcome of this comparison is that although JBoss Seam is just as good, and in some aspects better than ASP.NET, the use of ASP.NET simplifies the continuation of development on the S2 CRM product. The conversion that was made includes a way to share information between the new and the old system, an implementation of listing and search modules and an approach to the data model and techniques for achieving good performance. Modularity is also an important aspect of the work, and this was achieved by constructing controls that can be used in different contexts, configurable by configuration objects. The result of the thesis is a basic system for listing and searching that can coexist with the original system and that can be built further upon to create a new version of S2 CRM that fully runs on the ASP.NET platform.

Detta examensarbete ingår som en del av lövträprojektet, där böjhållfasthetsvärden och elasticitetsmoduler för asp tagits fram.
Virket har hållfasthetssorterats visuellt dels efter nordiska T-virkesstandarden INSTA 142, men även efter den brittiska standarden BS 4978-1996. Dessutom har en maskinell hållfasthetssortering av provkropparna genomförts i en böjprovningsmaskin av fabrikatet Cook-Bolinder. För vidare analyser av provkropparna har de körts i en WoodEye skanner som är en maskinell sorterings- och bildinläsningsapparat för sågat och hyvlat virke.
För att bestämma aspens elasticitetsmoduler och böjhållfasthet användes en böjprovningsmaskin av fabrikatet Alwetron. Global och lokal elasticitetsmodul har beräknats utifrån uppmätt nedböjning enligt den Europeiska standarden prEN 408:2003, därefter belastades provkroppen till brott för att få fram böjhållfastheten. Provkropparna har fotograferats innan påförd last, vid begynnande brott och slutligen efter brott. För möjlighet till ytterligare studier av de 150 provkroppar har en databas skapats med samtliga registrerade värden och foton.
With financially supports from the trust fond of the Knowledge Foundation a hardwood project will take part during two years at the School of Technology and Design at Växjö University. This report is one part in this project, were the bending strength and modulus of elasticity were evaluated for aspen.
The specimens were strength classified visually by using the Nordic standard INSTA 142 and by using the British standard BS 4978-1996. A classification was carried out by a bending strength grading machine named Cook-Bolinder. For further analysis the specimens were finally documented with a WoodEye scanner, which is a scanner that inspects and optimises sawn and planed timber.
An Alwetron, a bending strength grading machine, was used to determine modulus of elasticity and bending strength for aspen. Global and local modulus was calculated from the deflection according to the European standard prEN 408:2003. After that the specimens were loaded by tension to their ultimate strength so it was possible to evaluate the bending strength. Photos were taken of the specimens before, during and after loading. For further studies of the 150 specimens all values and pictures were saved.

Full textObesity is a major health problem that results in an imbalanced energy metabolism. Acylation Stimulating Protein (ASP, C3adesArg) is a protein produced by the adipose tissue, which stimulates triglycerides (TG) synthesis and glucose transport by binding to its receptor C5L2. Our previous studies have shown that mice with a disabled C3 gene (C3KO) are ASP deficient, hyperphagic but of normal weight and demonstrate greater energy expenditure than wild-type mice. From these results, our goal was to determine the role of the ASP-C5L2 pathway in energy metabolism. In our first study, we observed that a central injection of ASP in the third ventricle of Wistar rats brought a reduction in food intake and body weight gain and an increased mRNA expression of the anorexigenic neuropeptide POMC in the region of the arcuate nucleus. Our studies also showed that the levels of intramyocellular lipids (IMCL) were increased six-fold in C5L2-deficient mice (C5L2KO) compared to wild mice (WT) after a high-fat diet. Furthermore, in humans, the protein expression of C5L2 is reduced in patients with type 2 diabetes compared with obese controls. Physical training increased protein expression of C5L2 and ASP output in obese insulin-resistant men. Finally, our work with C5a receptor-deficient mice (C5aRKO) showed that after 12 weeks of a high-fat and high-sugar diet (DIO), the C5aRKO mice exhibited reduced body weight and smaller gonadal and inguinal fat mass than their WT counterparts. This was accompanied with lower plasma levels of non-esterified fatty acids and triglycerides and faster postprandial triglyceride clearance. Our studies have demonstrated that the ASP/C5L2 pathway represents an attractive target in the control of food intake and skeletal muscle fatty acid metabolism.

Full textHIV-1 presents a gene encoding for a protein named ASP (AntiSense Protein) on the antisense strand of its proviral genome. The gene encoding ASP is uniquely conserved within the M group of HIV-1 responsible for the pandemic, wich strongly suggests the implication of ASP and its transcripts in HIV-1 virulence or spreading. Several studies reported the expression of HIV-1 antisense transcripts and of ASP protein in cells infected in vitro and ex vivo. Despite these progress however, the expression of ASP in patients remains a subject of debate, and limited information is available on its potential function. To support the in vivo expression of ASP and its transcripts, and to improve our understanding of its expression in patients, I studied asp transcripts and the antibody response anti-ASP in biologic samples from HIV-1 infected patients. I developed a technic based on the immuno-precipitation of a nanoluciferase-ASP fusion protein to detect anti-ASP antibodies, and a strand-specific RT-qPCR to detect asp transcripts. Using both technics, I detected asp transcrits in the cells isolated from 2 patients, and the presence of anti-ASP antibodies in the plasma of 4 patients. In these 4 patients, the anti-ASP antibody response fluctuates overtime and targets one or several conserved epitopes of ASP. Overall, my results demonstrate that the asp gene is expressed during HIV-1 infection and confirm the immunogenicity of different domains of ASP. Even though the study of a small number of patients does not allow assessing the eventual protection conferred by the anti-ASP antibody response, the comprehension of the immuno-virological parameters underlying its fluctuations in patients could have interesting therapeutic implications

Full textThe bacterial L-asparaginase (ASNase) is used as biopharmaceutical in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and because his origin causes immune reactions in patients. The ASNase used in Brazil is imported which hinders its use due to supply availability and price. The methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris, is a microrganism easy to handle and with fast growth and high capacity of expression of recombinant proteins and that is able to carry out post-translational modifications. In this work, Saccharomyces cerevisiae ASNase II gene was expressed in Pichia pastoris (Muts) and was analyzed its localization in extra and intracellular medium and periplasmic space. Also, different conditions of growth and induction were evaluated in shaker, that culminated in a cultivation carried out in 3L bioreactor operated in batch. According the expression analysis, the enzyme was localized in periplasmic space; Pichia pastoris growth in different concentrations of glycerol (10 - 50 g.L-1) show similar kinetic parameters (µmáx = 0.35 h-1; tg = 2.0 h), with the higher substrate to biomass yield (Y x/s= 0.9 g.g-1) obtained with 10 g.L-1 of glycerol. The ASNase expression only occurred at 20°C and improves with methanol concentrations above 1.0% (v/v) to yield the highest production ASNase 3.0% methanol for 48 hours, which was corroborated by factorial fractionated design (3n-k + 2), n = 3 and k = 1. Also was observed that the pH of induction, supplementation with amino acids or casaminoacids and glycerol concentration during the growth phase had little or null influence on the expression. However the induction immediately after glycerol depletion improved the ASNase production. In bioreactor, were used 10 and 40 g.L-1 of glycerol in the growth phase and in the induction phase were used methanol pulses of 3.0% (v/v) during 120 hours. The major volumetric activity (710,2 U.L-1) of ASNase occurred in batch cultivation with 40 g.L-1 of glycerol and periplasmic activity was almost constant during the process which means that the control of pH affects positively the ASNase expression.

Diversas aplicações de banco de dados espaciais e sistemas baseados em localização hospedam-se na nuvem buscando alta disponibilidade e fácil gerenciamento de recursos. Entretanto, os dados armazenados remotamente estão sujeitos à observação dos funcionários da empresa de hospedagem ou das entidades governamentais dos países onde os centros de armazenamento estão localizados. Assim, para manter a confidencialidade dos dados espaciais, este trabalho propôs uma técnica de criptografia para permitir o processamento de busca circulares, poligonais e kNN de dados espaciais criptografados armazenados na nuvem, a técnica CR-ASPE. Baseados na CR-ASPE, dois esquemas de criptografia foram propostos e submetidos a um modelo de ameaça para avaliar o nível de segurança. O primeiro, o CR-ASPE básico, é mais veloz, enquanto o CR-ASPE estendido, ou CRASPEE, mostrou-se mais resistente a ataques. Juntamente, a formalização e a análise do nível de segurança de cada esquema foram apresentadas. Por fim, foi feita uma análise da complexidade temporal das funções do núcleo dos esquemas, assim como uma análise de desempenho de suas funções de busca e de consultas baseadas nestas buscas. No fim deste trabalho, espera-se uma técnica que permita criptografar dados espaciais na nuvem e executar buscas sobre eles com um desempenho superior ao de outras abordagens de criptografia estudadas.
Spatial databases and location-based applications are hosted on the cloud looking for high availability and easy configuration managing. However, the remotely stored data are under foreign governments’ laws and shares resources with other users. Thus, to keep the confidentiality of spatial data, this work proposed a cryptography technique, named CR-ASPE, to enable searches over encrypted spatial data kept in the cloud. Based on CR-ASPE, two cryptography schemes were proposed and submitted to a threat model to evaluate their security level. The first scheme, named CR-ASPE, is faster, on the other hand, the second scheme, named as CR-ASPEE, is more resistant to attacks. A formal definition is shown for each scheme, together with a security analysis. Lastly, time complexity analysis and performance analyses were made to evaluate the functions of each scheme and the queries on a database based on the searches functions. At the end of this work, a technique to encrypt spatial data and run circular, polygonal and kNN searches over them faster than other studied cryptography techniques may be available.
