Full textOur research is concerned with the teaching of linear algebra at the university level. More precisely, it focuses on the teaching of linear transformations in Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles. The theory of didactical situations, jointly with Peirce’s semiotics, constitute the main theoretical framework of our works and allow us to analyse student’s reasoning in situations of oral evaluation. Firstly, we put forward some epistemological aspects highlighting the links between linear transformations and the emergence of linear algebra. Then, with a didactical objective, we outline the main features of Perice’s semiotics and its algebraization with the treillis of sign’s categories. Hence, we can enhance the model of analysis for reasoning processes of Bloch and Gibel and build a tool for semiotic analysis called semantic diagram. We illustrate the use of this tool by conducting a local semiotic a priori analysis of a mathematical situation. This analysis highlight the link between the first signs and actions of the situation and the resulting semiosis. Next, we analyse some students’ reasonings produced during oral evaluations said « classical ». This analysis confirms the link between the lack of an adidactical milieu and the semantic difficulty to organize and articulate the objects and signs in a proof situation. Then we experiment a situation of oral evaluation in which the adidactical milieus are rich enough and stabilized. The analysis of the reasoning process conducted in this experimental situation allows us to show that, in this case, the students rely on a semantic point of view on the objects to produce their validations and controls their productions. These three different moments of our research attest the importance of the heuristic practices and discourse in the field of linear algebra

Full textThe objectives of this thesis are to study and to explicate the evaluation by teachers of french written productions of thai university students. Our comparative case study concerns french teachers and students of two universities. Three investigation instruments were used for each group of subjects : for the students (writing of an argumentative text, questionnaire and interview about their writing activities inside and outside the classroom, attitudes towards their teachers'evaluation) ; for the teachers (evaluation of students'texts, questionnaire and interview about their formation and experience in teaching and evaluation of french written productions, conception of writing skills, attitudes towards students'difficulties in french written expression, characteristics of their evaluation methods). The results of this research contribute to an reflection on diverse aspects in evaluation of french written productions (multidimensional aspect of wrting, evaluation criteria)

Full textThe main objective of this research is to develop an optimal solution in terms of precision, cost and weight of the equipment for computing the athlete’s velocities and accelerations using high data rate GPS measurements. This thesis is divided into three major sections. First, the theory about the computation of velocity is presented. Then, the theory about the computation of acceleration is shown. Finally, results of field tests are given. These tests were conducted to compare different parameters used to define an optimal strategy to obtain precise velocities and accelerations. The principal parameters tested are: computation modes (stand-alone or differential); processing algorithms using pre-computed positions, Doppler frequencies or carrier phase measurements; weighted observation matrices using satellites elevation angles or signal/noise ratio; filtering techniques using a moving average or Fast Fourier Transform; and GPS receivers of different quality (low cost receiver or geodetic receiver).

Full textAt a time when various studies have confirmed that the spelling ability of secondary school students has fallen, our aim has been to discover whether this phenomenon also affects university students who pursue their studies to a higher level. With its fundamental notions set in both educational, as well as information and communication science, this research-action proposes a three-pronged scientific approach based on plural methodologies. The aim is not only to answer the central question, but also to measure its consequences in terms of employability, and to define the outlines of an educational response. Firstly, diachronic measurements reveal a strong increase in the spelling error rate in marked examination papers during the first year at university. Secondly, in situ experimentation confirms that candidates with faulty spelling can be the victims of discrimination in employment. Thirdly, grammatical remediation is proposed for first-year university students, based on an innovative learning and evaluation instrument: the normalised dictation

Full textLinguistic and cultural means are hardly available to the japanese students learning french in japan if they want to practice their french in france. They are not able to communicate properly because they lack basic vocabulary, a lack which has consequence on their competence, both linguistic and cultural. This competence is directly linked with the contents of their locally made language books which do not provide them with sufficient communicative tools, and with those of a universal method like le nouveau sans frontieres 1 (widely used by japanese beginners), which does not answer their needs either. Taking into account the part held by lexis in the general competence and the vocabulary deficiencies of japanese students, we suggest a methodological content which insists on words for the linguistic and cultural description and for a learning of basic communicative tools
