Abstract:
Results of the research indicate that the eggs of Atka mackerel are a part of forage for this speciesis from May to December. Captures of the Atka mackerel individuals spawning and feeding on the own eggs far from the coast indicate that a certain part of the stock spawns at the depths considerably lower than normal spawning grounds. Spawning individuals of Atka mackerel is were observed in research from June to December. Emergence of larvae from the eggs laid in November–December is expected in spring.

Abstract:
Atka mackerel Pleurogrammus monopterygius is one of the mass species of fam. Hexagrammidae that inhabits the boreal and subarctic waters of the North Pacific and forms two large populations in its western and eastern parts. Reproductive range of the eastern, Aleutian population extends from the Gulf of Alaska, along Aleutian Islands to Commander Islands, with the main spawning grounds at the Aleutians and in the southeastern Bering Sea. From these areas, the fish at early stages of ontogenesis spread widely in system of the Bering Sea currents to the western-southwestern Bering Sea, where the atka mackerel aggregations are formed on the external shelf at prominent capes, as Cape Olyutorsky. Dynamics of the atka mackerel stock in the Olyutorsky-Navarinsky area in 1994–2019 is presented on the base of bottom trawl surveys, fishery statistics, and open NOAA data. After the period of low stock in the middle 1990s, the atka mackerel abundance increased sharply to the maximum in 2006–2008, when the spawning stock in this area was about 9.5 . 103 t and the commercial stock about 14.0 . 103 t. Since that time, trend to decreasing is observed, with the spawning stock 3.6 . 103 t and the commercial stock 5.6 . 103 t in 2013, and recent stabilization at the low level with slight decline continuing. A possible reason of the sharp increase in 2000s could be the intensive transport of the atka mackerel juveniles from the main spawning grounds at Aleutian Islands to the area at Cape Olyutorsky. The catches of atka mackerel in the Olyutorsky-Navarinsky area in 1994–2018 corresponded well with its stock dynamics.

Abstract:
We examined the diet of Steller sea lions (Eumetopias jubatus) during June-August 1990-1993 from six areas in the Aleutian Islands and Gulf of Alaska and related these diets to sea lion population changes that occurred during the period. Seven general prey categories were identified, but either walleye pollock (Theragra chalcogramma) or Atka mackerel (Pleurogrammus monopterygius) dominated in every area. The diversity of prey consumed varied among sites. Only the eastern Aleutian Islands area had all seven categories in the diet, and there, walleye pollock and Atka mackerel each made up around 30% of the diet. The remainder was composed mostly of small schooling fish (e.g., Pacific herring (Clupea pallasi) and salmon (Oncorhynchus spp.)). The diet in the Gulf of Alaska included mostly walleye pollock whereas the central and western Aleutian diet was composed mostly of Atka mackerel. Populations in the six areas decreased up to 49% during 1990-1994. A strong positive correlation (r = 0.949, P = 0.004) was found between diet diversity and the amount of decline in an area: as diet diversity decreased, populations decreased. This suggests that sea lions need a variety of prey available, perhaps to buffer significant changes in abundance of any single prey.

Abstract:
Abstract Two seismic arrays recorded in an 11 month field experiment in 1985 the seismicity of Ekström Ice Shelf in the area of an ice rumple and an inlet, situated respectively about 10 km north-west and 7 km north of the German Antarctic station Georg von Neumayer (lat. 70°37′S., long. 08°22′W). Most of the focal depths of the icequakes considered until now are in the range 5–9 m; the ice-rumple area shows extremely high seismic activity. Tensile fracture is the most frequent fault mechanism, although there are a few shear-fracture events. The ice rumple’s seismicity provides information on the dynamics of the ice shelf in this area. A comparison of this time-dependent seismicity with tides suggests that most of this seismicity is induced by tides. The most active period of this seismicity starts at the beginning of low tide and ends at low tide. The location of the epicentres of icequakes recorded at that time and the digital recording on tapes of the seismicity without interruption for 396 h shows a jerky vertical movement of the ice shelf in response to tides; this can be interpreted as a kind of “grater effect”, especially at the southern ice-rock boundary of the ice rumple. The seismicity in the inlet is much less and tensile fracture seems to be the only fault mechanism.

Abstract:
Recognized as a Native institution, the Russian Orthodox Church is the primary identity marker of the Aleuts for whom it forges the sense of community belonging. Based on data gathered during several fieldworks undertaken in the village of Atka (Central Aleutians) and the city of Anchorage, as well as on a variety of historical and ethnographical sources, this thesis explores the articulation between Orthodoxy and identity. It examines the construction of a specific memory by looking into the way the Atkans reappropriate the material and ideological traces of the religious legacy of the Russian colonization of Alaska. The first part investigates the various ways in which the group adheres to the villages's church in its relation to space and time. The second part is devoted to the study of naming before and after christianization that sheds light on the role of Russian personal names in defining a current identity. The third part continues the examination of the practices and representations attached to baptism. It discusses the place and function of baptismal kinship which takes part in stucturing the community. Finally, it analyzes the feast of Theophany through which the conversion to Orthodoxy is renegotiated as it breaks with shamanism

Abstract:

Abstract:
This thesis analyses ATAKA&rsquo
s rise as a prominent actor in Bulgarian politics and to what extent this success is sustainable. The first section seeks the roots of authoritarianism in Bulgaria. The following section focuses on the restructuring and transformation in Bulgaria following the end of the Communist Party rule. The last section examines the reproduction of authoritarianism Bulgaria which is manifested through the rise of ATAKA in the last few years. Main argument of the thesis is that while the party&rsquo
s success has been rather fast and unexpected in the beginning, it was a result of the recreation of authoritarianism that has been present in the Bulgarian history and manifested itself through ATAKA and its xenophobic-racist rhetoric since 2005. While the sustainability of ATAKA&rsquo
s success in the long-term is in question considering its decline in the 2009 parliamentary elections, there is always the possibility of the authoritarianism resurfacing through different mediums, if not through ATAKA.

Abstract:

Larger systems today, like telephone and optical switches, are usually based on a multiboard architecture where a set of printed-circuit boards are connected to a backplane board. These systems are also equipped with Boundary-Scan to enable testing, however, the backplane in a multi-board system has a limited wiring capability, which makes the additional backplane Boundary-Scan wiring highly costly. The problem is to access the Boundary-Scan enabled boards with the Boundary-Scan controller located at a central board. In this MSc. thesis project we propose an approach suitable for the Advanced Telecommunication Computing Architecture (ATCA) standard where we make use of the existing Intelligent Platform Management Bus (IPMB) and expands its protocol for application of Boundary-Scan tests. We have also defined a command set as well as a test data format for storing embedded test data on the boards to support the remote execution of Boundary-Scan tests. For validation of the proposed approach we have developed demonstrator.

Coaching is a topic that has been frequently underlined on personal and professional development context, theme deeply approached by individuals from different areas and institutions that offer training on the subject, though, scientifically, it has been little explored empirically up to now. People from several educational background are using coaching as a working tool. The research aims at analyzing the performance of professionals who have their main focus on coaching work. Given the scarcity of studies assessing the activities of coaches, practices, methods and results achieved, a semi-structured interview with five open questions about the theme was designed and applied to six participants who work as coaches in consulting. Their answers were examined qualitatively by content analysis, looking for similarities and differences between the speeches. The results showed that each employee performs in accordance with his/her background, knowledge and experience, and such conceptions and practices are quite different. It is expected that the results of this study may help those interested in coaching about processes and techniques, costs of meetings, the coaching status in a national context, and contribute to scientific research on the topic.

Abstract:
XX revisões taxonômicas tenham estabilizado a sistemática do gênero, a variabilidade morfológica e distribuição geográfica trans-ístmica da espécie A. innocous gerou questionamentos.
The genus Atya Leach, 1816 shrimps are the largest of the Atyidae family, and the 13 acknowledge species are geographically distributed in rivers and stream in the tropical and subtropical regions of America (Atlantic and Pacific drainages) and West Africa. The first registry of an Atya was in the XVII century and since then new species were described and previous description revised in an eventful taxonomic historic. Although throughout the XX century taxonomic revisions stabilized the genus systematics, the morphological variability and the trans-isthmic geographic distribution of A. innocous caused questioning. Moreover, molecular phylogenetic studies that included Atya representatives raised doubt on the genus systematics (possibly non-monophyletism) and some species A. gabonensis A. margaritacea and A. scabra hypothesis. As molecular markers have never been used concerning Atya species delimitation complementary to the morphology and it could improve the genus systematics, the goal of this study was to evaluate with molecular markers the taxonomic hypothesis of the species A. gabonensis, A. innocous, A. margaritacea e A. scabra. Sequences of the mitochondrial genes 16S and Cytochrome Oxidase I and nuclear gene Histone 3 were generated by means of DNA extraction and sequence protocols from specimens obtained in loans/donations. Putative species evidenced by the analysis of nucleotide similarity (genetic distances), character sharing (phylogenetic reconstitutions), Automatic Barcode Gap Discovery, Poisson Tree Processes and Generalized Mixed Yule Coalescence were compared to the prevailing taxonomic hypothesis. The systematic evaluation with the molecular data of this study, in addition with the morphological information in the literature sustain A. gabonensis as an amphi-atlantic distributed species, but do not corroborated A. innocous hypothesis as an trans-isthmian species. In this sense, the use of A. innocous stricto sensu for the Caribbeans Sea populations and A. tenella to that restricted to the pacific drainage of America is suggested. Atya margaritacea, distributed along the pacific drainage of America, is considered a valid species distinct from A. scabra, widespread distributed in the Atlantic drainage of America and Africa, besides Caribbean Sea. However, the possibility of a cryptic species in the Gulf of Mexico population is discussed. Aditionally, the relevant knowledge to future systematic and taxonomy studies about the shrimps of the genus Atya were summarized and are shown.

Species of leaf - c utting ants of the genus Atta are important pests of agriculture and forestry Brazilian because they use plant material as substrate for the cultivation of your symbiotic fungus, thus requiring control methods to reduce the damage caused by their foraging activities. The most used are the toxic baits. The symbiotic association provides adequate nutritional constitution to the colony, the main food source for the larvae and important constituent of the diet of adult workers. The objectives of this study was observe the behavioral repertoire of Atta leaf cutter during preparation and incorporation of two different substrates, leaves and ant poison baits, as well as the participation of each caste involved in this process, stressing possible morphological diffe rences between the jaws of leaf - cutting ants grasses and dicots. For a detailed description of both jaws of the workers, anatomy and chemical composition of plant material species foraged by bisphaerica Atta and A. s. rubropilosa was prepared, as well as a n ethogram showing behavioral acts performed by workers' overalls, and generalist foragers of A. s. rubropilosa during processing and incorporation of two different substrates. It has verified that Atta species have similar morphology jaw. The difference w as observed just inside the grapes analyzed. Regarding the morphological description of the plant material foraged, results indicate that grasses have more lignified points, it can be inferred that their foraging and processing requires a greater effort of workers and could lead to differentiation in behavioral acts in their preparation and incorporation into the fungus garden . For the three castes found eight behavioral acts were recorded, regardless of substrate processed by workers ...

Abstract:
The Federal Republic of Germany operates research stations on the Ekstro¨m Ice Shelf west of the Atka Bay in the Antarctic since 1981. Due to the annual accumulation of snow and thereby increasing pressures, sub-surface stations have a limited service life time of about 15 years. The planned new Neumayer Station III ought to allow for the increased demands of scientific research and for the grown environmental awareness. The design concept considers an elevated station body and a service garage underneath. A hydraulic mechanism allows an annual lifting of the station to compensate for snow accumulation and settlements. Thus, the projected service life time for the new station is about 30 years, twice as long as for the existing station. The weather conditions in the Antarctic call for high standards of safety and functionality of the applied techniques and are the determining parameters for design and manufacturing of the station.
