This chapter investigates the history of the ubiquitous yet banal Automated Teller Machine, or ATM. There is no single inventor of the ATM. Rather, it emerged through innovation around the globe and across the industry. In order to build a successful ATM system, engineers and bankers had to overcome challenges that ranged from security and authorization to weather-proofing electronics. This chapter surveys some of those developments. Increasingly, ATMs are being designed to offer a variety of services beyond dispensing cash. In the future, the ATM may prove to an important site of automated retail banking and consumer financial services.

An automated teller machine (ATM) is a kiosk that is used widely for money transactions across the globe. Several banking sectors have showed interest in deploying ATMs. The cash dispenser system manages the transaction services with less manual effort. When it comes to deploying an ATM, two methods are practiced: onsite ATM and offsite ATM. Safeguarding cash kept inside the ATM is a challenge. Researchers suggested several built-in security measures to secure the money in ATMs. Nevertheless, burglars still loot the money. Some widely used looting methods include card skimming, cash trapping, and phishing. So, it is time to give intelligence to the ATM itself to react to the situation. Proposed is a system that implements the idea of making machines to identify the situation and perform actions accordingly. Choosing a biometric framework helps provide Identity for a person based upon various anomalous characteristics and specialties. For various purposes, we use various methods of biometric identification. Fingerprint and Iris scanning are some of the challenging and prominent methods which provide challenging patterns. Taking the challenges to security into consideration, we choose to take our system ahead with the help of Fingerprint and Iris scanning. Inexpensive and easily available apparatus provides another opportunity to test the datasets more clearly and precisely with proper scanning. Using these frameworks can help provide various benefits for the ATM (Automated Teller Machine) systems. The current ATM card PINs are easily traceable and can be misused. To overcome this weakness in current ATM systems, along with the ATM card PINs the security can be much enhanced by combining the PIN, Fingerprint scanning, and Iris Scanning altogether. Every individual's Biometric details would be updated by the bank and linked to the bank account.

Automated teller machine (ATM) surveillance system is a smart system based on image processing that incorporates various sensors and machine learning algorithms to continuously monitor its surroundings for suspicious activities like physical attack. To prevent these attacks, there is a need to find the criminal immediately and save the person's life. In this chapter, two ways are followed to detect the criminals. The first one is weapon detection; the second one is criminal facial identification. A novel magnitude-based feature extraction technique creates the magnitude pattern for the image using Di-Pattern (DiP). Di-Pattern utilizes both horizontal and vertical derivatives to create a unique feature vector of the objects. Based on thresholding, weapons are detected. Once weapon detection as well as facial identification is done, it gives the alert. This system makes its effective usage in the remote locations where threatening is more, thus providing security. The proposed method achieves better accuracy than the other existing methods.

Public Sector Banks are major type of banks in India where a majority stake is held by the government. Public Sector Banks or Nationalized Banks dominated banking system in India. There are various Green Banking Products (Paperless) i.e. ATMs, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Online Banking (NEFT & RTGC) and Mobile Banking of Public Sector Banks in India. Under these green banking products, the banking transactions are done through an electronic device. All these products reduce the usage of paper which in turn saves trees. This Research Paper emphasizes on the analysis of ATMs. An Automated Teller Machine (ATM) is an electronic telecommunications device that enables customers of financial institutions to perform financial transactions comfortably such as cash withdrawals, deposits, transfer funds, or obtaining account information at any time and without the need for direct interaction with bank staff. The study is focusing on ATM services provided by Public Sector Banks under Green Banking Sector. The present study focuses on growth of Onsite and Offsite ATMs of last five years with the objectives of Analyze ATM services by Public Sector Banks and Examine the Growth of Onsite and Offsite ATMs. The study is based on Secondary Data. Abstract:
The practical implementation of quantum information technologies requires, for the most part, highly advanced and currently experimental procedures. One exception is quantum cryptography, or quantum key distribution, which has been successfully demonstrated in many laboratories and has reached an advanced level of development. It will probably become the first commercial application of quantum information. In quantum key distribution, Alice and Bob exploit a quantum channel to create a secret shared key comprising a random string of binary digits. This key can then be used to protect a subsequent communication between them. The principal idea is that the secrecy of the key distribution is ensured by the laws of quantum physics. Proving security for practical communication systems is a challenging problem and requires techniques that are beyond the scope of this book. At a fundamental level, however, the ideas are simple and may readily be understood with the knowledge we have already acquired. Quantum cryptography is the latest idea in the long history of secure (and not so secure) communications and, if it is to develop, it will have to compete with existing technologies. For this reason we begin with a brief survey of the history and current state of the art in secure communications before turning to the possibilities offered by quantum communications. The history of cryptography is a long and fascinating one. As a consequence of the success or, more spectacularly, the failure of ciphers, wars have been fought, battles decided, kingdoms won, and heads lost. In the information age, ciphers and cryptosystems have become part of everyday life; we use them to protect our computers, to shop over the Internet, and to access our money via an ATM (automated teller machine). One of the oldest and simplest of all ciphers is the transposition or Caesarean cipher (attributed to Julius Caesar), in which the letters are shifted by a known (and secret) number of places in the alphabet. If the shift is 1, for example, then A is enciphered as B, B→C, · · ·, Y→Z, Z→A. A shift of five places leads us to make the replacements A→F, B→G, · · ·, Y→D, Z→E.

Abstract:
Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short-distance wireless technology which allows user friendly networking of mobile terminals, e.g., cellular phones and PDAs, as it does with stationary units like Automated Teller Machines (ATM). Hardware producers, network operators and service providers are willing to implement NFC technologies in order to offer new services to their customers. The main goal is to increase the attraction of the underdeveloped areas of mobile commerce and make them more interesting for owners of mobile devices. If and how much real potential there is in NFC as a basic technology to really provide new impulses in mobile commerce and mobile marketing so that a higher acceptance can be reached are remaining open questions. This chapter tries to approach these questions and to provide possible answers by outlining relevant applicative examples and further configuration options of NFC technology as well as by discussing their acceptability.

This optimized formal approach called Communicating Stream X-Machine (CSXM) applied in software testing based on its formal specifications to a distributed system as it points out its advantages and limits of the use of the existing formal methods to this level. However, despite the tremendous works that has been done in the software testing research area, the origin of bugs or defects in a software is still cost and ta

Abstract:
The research work is focused at developing a system prototype for an enhanced version of the Yorùbá language menu option of the ATM, introducing Yorùbá tone mark built on an enhanced translation equivalence model in order to assist users who are monolingual only in Yorùbá language to effectively interact with the system. To achieve the objective of the work, the researcher employed the equivalence translation model designed for the work and adopted traditional structured systems analysis and design methodology (SSADM) to build the system prototype. Abstract:
Climate change is one of the most important issues in today’s world. To address this matter, countries and companies are trying to become more sustainable. Countries have set the targets for greenhouse gas emissions reduction, which cannot be reached without the joint effort of the retail, small, medium, and corporate sector. Moreover, emissions and pollution reductions can be achieved through the economic and social development. Digitalization proved to be a fast-track for the economic growth and green development. That fast track becomes even faster if the country’s financial system has a ce
