Full textThree meta-analyses were conducted to synthesize results of previous research on the association between adult attachment with parents and the quality of romantic relationships in adulthood. These meta-analyzes address the link between attachment security and three components of romantic relationships, namely the quality of interactions, attachment to the partner and dyadic satisfaction. Results indicate a moderate association between adult attachment and each of these components of romantic relationships. A longitudinal study was subsequently conducted to address specific questions raised by these meta-analyses. The link between attachment and romantic relationships in adulthood was examined in a longitudinal study, starting in adolescence and continuing until participants were 41-years-old (mean). Seventy-five individuals participated at three different time points. The first participation took place in 1992 or 1996 (time 1), the second in 2007 (time 2), and the third in 2019 (time 3). Measures on the quality of their relationships, and the stability of their relationships were obtained at times 2 and 3, where as attachment data (Adult Attachment Interview; AAI) was collected at time 1, when participants were late adolescents or early adults. A double mediation model shows that adolescents who are more preoccupied with attachment are less intimate and less involved in their romantic relationships at the age of 28; that a low level of perceived intimacy and engagement at the age of 28 is associated with low level of stabilityin romantic relationships in the early 40s; that a shorter relationship in the early 40s is associated with a weaker commitment to the partner. The results of these studies suggest that attachment organization in late adolescents and young adults may have a bearing on the mechanisms involved in the dynamics of romantic relationships during adulthood.

"Attachement des jeunes adultes antérieurement placés en famille d’accueil : contribution de leurs parcours de placement ainsi que de leur perception du soutien des parents d'accueil : validité psychométrique d’une version française de la mesure de qualité d’attachement adulte MAQ-Fr." Full textThis work is composed of two main studies: The first study intended to validate a French version of the of the measure of adult attachment qualities (MAQ; Carver, 1997). The second study is designed to assess the attachment qualities of young adults previously placed in foster care and put them in perspective with the perception they have of parental support received in foster care. The results of the first study show that the MAQ-Fr scale has adequate levels of internal consistency, temporal stability, and good construct validity. We can consider that it is therefore a good tool for assessing the qualities of attachment to a French adult population. The results of the second study show that the participants have been affected by their foster care experience. Their relationship styles indicate that their attachment style in adulthood has been influenced to some extent by their individual experiences in foster care. These types of attachment are related both to foster parental support and the conditions in which the placement (s) was made. Insecure attachment patterns influence the relational evolution of adults who have been in foster care. They then developed "working internal models" hat provoke defenses that actually reinforce the anxieties and mistrust already present due to early relationship traumas. This study provides both positive indications that the children placed suffer pain related to their attachment difficulties and that these can be modified in good or bad according to the sensitivity of the host environments to these difficulties of 'attachment. The final results highlight the importance of foster care placement and relationships between young in foster care and their foster parents, as these factors are likely to influence attachment in adulthood in a form of securing while reinforcing empowerment and mentalizing abilities

Full textThis research draws on an approach combining contributions from developmental, organizational and environmental psychology to understand the place of workplace attachment styles in the organizational setting. The goal is to identify the relationship between adult attachment styles and workplace attachment styles, but also to understand the impact of physic caractheristic of work environment on workplace attachment styles. To do this we have two objectives:The first objective is to determine if there are different attachment styles to the workplace and to explore the relationship between adult attachment style and workplace attachment style. The second objective is to understand the influence of physical characteristics of the work environment on workplace attachment style via environmental satisfaction. The results reveal firstly that high scores of secure workplace attachment are significantly correlated with the secure attachment style, while particularly low scores are correlated with the insecure attachment style. Second, that workplace attachment styles are correlated with environmental satisfaction at work. The hypothesized mediating effect of environmental satisfaction on the relationship between the physical characteristics of the work environment and workplace attachment style was found for all three attachment styles: secure, avoidant and preoccupied, in opposite directions

Full textThe transition indicates the passage, for a patient who has been treated for a paediatric cancer, from paediatric medical follow up towards adult medicine. This is a very critical time in the course of care which totally escapes the usual protocols. In addition, the medical literature apprehends only very insufficiently all the issues involved, in particular from the intrapsychic and intersubjective points of view. The prospect of separation between paediatricians and their patients raises many medical issues and especially emotional unes. In order to explore them, we carried out eighteen semi-structured interviews on the transition with paediatricians in onco-hematology, practicing in one of the four specialized centres in Ile-de-France. The thematic analysis of the interviews was supplemented by the use of an instrument (Edicode) taking into account the narrative characteristics of the speech, in reference to the attachment theory and its current developments around the question of narrativity. We have shows how the transition took here the value of a reality-testing, forcing doctor and patient to measure together the cost of the cure, in particular through the after-effects of cancer treatments. Certain ideals and unconscious fantasies at work within the paediatric vocation are also highlighted at the time of the transition. Finally the transition must, in these particular wards, being considered in the light of disappearances related to the deaths of children and adolescents which colour of a very particular psychic environment the separations linked to the transition 'of young people towards the adult medicine
