The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between therapy outcome, the therapeutic alliance and both patient and therapist attachment styles. 14 therapists and 27 patients participated. 78.57% (n = 11) therapists and 29.63% (n = 8) patients were classified as securely attached by self-report measures. It was predicted that more patients of secure therapists would show clinically significant improvement as determined by CORE-OM scores.
