Allouche-Pourcel, Béatrice. "Kant et la Schwärmerei : entre attirance et rejet : histoire d'une fascination inacceptable." Thesis, Paris Est, 2008. http://www.theses.fr/2008PEST0026.
Full textOmnipresent but never really conceptualized, the idea of Schwärmerei appears like a Leitfaden, a guiding principle, in Kant’s works. Confusion, unbearable conceit but also “negative reason”(antiparadigm), the Schwärmerei is, in Kant’s eyes, the serious danger of a possible alternative to his peculiar rationality and he sets about denouncing it. Nevertheless, Kant is fascinated and irresistibly attracted by the Schwärmer’s figure (represented by Swedenborg) and this attraction is denied and repressed : an internal struggle in Kant’s rationality then becomes apparent and, starting from the Kritik of schwärmerischen Vernunft, Kant gives birth to criticism, by need to limit the elation, too tempting. He then divides his “metaphysics of modesty” and the pride of the “heaven’s favourites”, necessary restriction to avoid the drift of the inevitable dialectic of the reason toward the Schwärmerei. Then, this struggle against illuminism becomes public on the occasion of the “Pantheismusstreit” and appears to be a confrontation between Kant and Jacobi. This clash of two “philosophical idiosyncrasies” gives, after all, rise to examine two very different conceptions of faith, knowledge and reason. It then transforms the dialogue between Schwärmerei and reason into a fundamental topic that belongs to the system of kantian reason and to the story of reason too, with Pantheismusstreit and the beginning of the“German idealism”
Zhao, Yan. "L'éveil et ses multiples contextes comportementaux, rôle de l'histamine et des orexines." Thesis, Lyon, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017LYSE1131.
Full textOur previous work showed that histamine (HA) and orexin (Ox) neurons play distinct, but complementary roles in wakefulness(W) associated with locomotion, exploration, motivation and anticipation, leading to the hypothesis that the regulation of W, a highly heterogeneous brain state, depends on the instantaneous ongoing behavioral activities and diverse participation of various arousal systems. Using an integrative approach, this thesis focused on the role of HA and Ox in sexual arousal, a prerequisite for reproduction. The presence of a female mouse elicited in a male a marked increase in W. This increase was not significant if another male was introduced. Ovariectomized or estrogen receptor antagonist-treated female mice did not elicit sexual arousal in males. Male mice pretreated with an androgen receptor antagonist did not show any increased W facing a female. Acute inhibition of HA synthesis or Ox1-receptor antagonist abolished sexual arousal. Whereas sexual arousal was intact in knockout(KO) mice lacking either HA or Ox, it was totally absent in double KO mice. Thus, both the HA and Ox systems, driven by sex hormones, promote sexual arousal. Chronic HA or Ox loss could be compensated by up-regulated adaptive mechanisms, which became ineffective when both systems were deleted.During my thesis, I was also involved in the studies of 1) role of HA H1-receptor in W associated with exploration; 2) HA neurons as target of ursodeoxycholic acid; 3) astroglial connexins and modafinil mode of action. This thesis contributes to qualify the synergistic role of HA and Ox in controlling the multiple facets of W and supports the hypothesis that the control of W is behavior-dependent

Full textIn the mouse, female puberty onset is accelerated by male urinary pheromones (Vandenbergh effect). The neuroendocrine mechanisms underlining this effect and the behavioral consequences are poorly understood. Through a multidisciplinary approach using immunohistochemistry, gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry and experimental surgery, my thesis research show that neurons that synthesize kisspeptin, a hypothalamic neuropeptide which plays a master role in the control of puberty onset, are positively regulated by puberty-Accelerating pheromones. Kisspeptin neurons receive pheromone signal via the accessory olfactory system and transmit it to GnRH neurons. Moreover, behavioral analyses show that besides their known physiological effect, puberty-Accelerating pheromones also have long-Term effects on sexual behavior of the female mouse. Indeed, puberty-Accelerating pheromones induce a precocious expression of male-Directed odor preference in adult female mice
Su, Xiaoshan. "Three Essays on the Design, Pricing, and Hedging of Insurance Contracts." Thesis, Lyon, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019LYSE2065.
Full textThis thesis makes use of some theoretical tools in finance, decision theory, machine learning, to improve the design, pricing and hedging of insurance contracts. Chapter 3 develops closed-form pricing formulas for participating life insurance contracts, based on matrix Wiener-Hopf factorization, where multiple risk sources, such as credit, market, and economic risks, are considered. The pricing method proves to be accurate and efficient. The dynamic and semi-static hedging strategies are introduced to assist insurance company to reduce risk exposure arising from the issue of participating contracts. Chapter 4 discusses the optimal contract design when the insured is third degree risk averse. The results showthat dual limited stop-loss, change-loss, dual change-loss, and stop-loss can be optimal contracts favord by both of risk averters and risk lovers in different settings. Chapter 5 develops a stochastic gradient boosting frequency-severity model, which improves the important and popular GLM and GAM frequency-severity models. This model fully inherits advantages ofgradient boosting algorithm, overcoming the restrictive linear or additive forms of the GLM and GAM frequency-severity models, through learning the model structure from data. Further, our model can also capture the flexible nonlinear dependence between claim frequency and severity
