Abstract:
Nowadays, the acquisition of language is not a passive learning process influenced by teacher and learning environment, but an active cognition happening in student's mind. Therefore, student's attitude toward certain language can be seen as an important factor in language learning and acquisition. Especially in today's multilingual world, how learners view different language and the speakers of that language impact the achievement of language to some extent. In order to illustrate the relationship between language attitude and language acquisition, this study analyzes the secondary data of students' attitudes toward English in National University of the Inner Mongolia. Through comparing different students' attitudes and their learning achievements, the conclusion that language attitude is a multilayered concept and it plays an essential role in English language acquisition can be revealed.

Abstract:
Motivation and Attitude, being linked frequently to actual classroom studying situations, are very significant and crucial contributing elements within the second language learning process. The role of attitude and motivation in the acquisition of foreign languages has been a major concern to foreign language researchers. Attitude and motivation are known as essential and distinctive thoughts in social sciences. They have as well maintained their position as a central concept on the field. Attitude is an essential part of understanding human behaviour and it is considered as a mental state that includes feelings and beliefs. In this systematic review, the researchers explain the concept of attitude and its models, attitudes and language acquisition, and achievement motivation and its theories. The review of related literature shows that Arab postgraduate students have some positive attitudes towards the learning of the English Language and are also motivated towards the learning of the English Language.

Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate the effect of using Fryer teaching model on 7th grade students' acquisition of scientific concepts. The researchers were interested in testing if differences between students’ acquisitions of scientific concepts were dependent on previous achievement. Also important was to test if students' acquisition of scientific concepts correlated with attitudes towards using Fryer model. To achieve the objectives of the study, a quasi-experimental method was used. Two instruments were developed: a test to measure the acquisition of the scientific concepts and a questionnaire to measure students' attitudes. The study sample consisted of 72 students who were divided into two groups: one (n=37) studied science using Fryer model; the other (n=35) used the traditional method. At the end of the experiment, concepts acquisition test was administered to both groups; while the attitude scale was administered to the experimental group. The results revealed that there were statistically significant differences (p < 0.05) in the acquisition of scientific concepts in favor of the experimental group; and the previous achievement in favor of high achievers. There was an interaction effect between method and previous achievement. The results also revealed a statistically significant correlation between the acquisition of scientific concepts and attitudes towards learning using Fryer model among 7 graders.

Attitude verbs, such as think, want, and know, describe internal mental states that leave few cues as to their meanings in the physical world. Consequently, their acquisition requires learners to draw from indirect evidence stemming from the linguistic and conversational contexts in which they occur. This provides us a unique opportunity to probe the linguistic and cognitive abilities that children deploy in acquiring these words. Through a few case studies, we show how children make use of syntactic and pragmatic cues to figure out attitude verb meanings and how their successes, and even their mistakes, reveal remarkable conceptual, linguistic, and pragmatic sophistication.

Abstract:
This research explores how face consciousness and acquisition centrality influence intentions to purchase counterfeit goods, with counterfeit attitude serving as a mediator and perceived anonymity as a moderator. This study utilized a survey method and included 284 Indonesian customers. Data was evaluated using SmartPLS software and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that face consciousness has a negative effect on counterfeit attitudes (β = -0.180, p < 0.003), while acquisition centrality has a positive impact (β = 0.802, p < 0.000). Additionally, counterfeit attitude mediates the relationship between these factors and buying intentions. Perceived anonymity moderates these relationships by weakening the connection between face consciousness and counterfeit attitude (β = -0.114, p < 0.020) but enhancing the link between acquisition centrality and counterfeit attitude (β = 0.326, p < 0.000). These findings show that social concerns and materialistic values strongly influence attitudes and intentions toward counterfeit products. Practical consequences include targeted consumer education to diminish the counterfeit appeal and promote the value of genuine products. Policymakers are asked to tighten restrictions and raise awareness of the economic and ethical consequences of counterfeit products. Marketers can use these data to differentiate their products and appeal to consumers' demand for authenticity.

Full text
Abstract:
This paper seeks to rationalize the attitude-acquisition conundrum which is witnessed with Cameroon Pidgin English (CPE), an English-based pidgin spoken in Cameroon. According to Baker (1992: 10), ‘attitude’ refers to a hypothetical construct used to explain the direction and persistence of human behavior. In second-language acquisition literature, the use of the term ‘attitude’ has very often conjured up associated notions such as behavior, motivation, prestige and importance, which are seen to be important determinants of levels of success in L2 learning/acquisition. A positive attitude is said to fortify the motivation to learn a language; to be a successful learner, a positive attitude towards the target language is necessary. However, as McKenzie (2008: 4) notes, the relationship between attitude and L2 learning/acquisition is a rather complex one, which varies according to social context. Among other things, a positive attitude towards an L2 is also driven by factors such as (1) the socioeconomic value of the L2, (2) the L2's status-raising potential and (3) its perceived instrumental value.

Abstract:
This paper delves into Stephen Krashen’s Affective Filter Hypothesis (1982), which suggests that emotions such as motivation, attitude, self-confidence, and anxiety play a significant role in how easily or how challenging it is for students to acquire a second language. Among these emotional factors, attitude is especially important as it influences other aspects of the affective filter. This paper takes a narrative literature review approach to examine how attitude impacts language learning, particularly in the case of learning English. It explores the definitions, dimensions, and key factors that shape students’ attitudes and highlights teaching strategies supported by research that create an encouraging classroom environment. Such an environment can motivate students to engage more with the language. The findings highlight that having a positive attitude is key to success in learning a language. When students stay motivated and confident, they are more likely to jump into conversations, keep practicing, and step out of their comfort zone. On the other hand, students who feel anxious or discouraged often struggle to engage with the language, making it harder for them to improve. This study also emphasizes that addressing emotional and psychological aspects in language teaching is just as important as teaching grammar and vocabulary. In fact, these emotional factors play a crucial role in helping students truly succeed in their language-learning journey.

Abstract:
This study investigated the effects of teaching gardening on science students' attitudes towards entrepreneurial skills acquisition in Jos South, Plateau State, Nigeria. The study employed the non-randomized pre-test-post-test non-equivalent control group design. A sample of 75 senior secondary school students from two intact classes, randomly assigned to an experimental group (n=38) and a control group (n=37) was used for the study. An Entrepreneurial Attitude Orientation Scale was used to collect data for analysis. The findings indicated that the experimental group exposed to gardening activities showed positive attitudes towards acquiring entrepreneurial skills unlike the control group. However, gender was found not to be a significant factor in students' attitudes towards entrepreneurial skills acquisition. It was concluded that teaching gardening has a significant effect on students' attitudes towards entrepreneurial skills acquisition. It is recommended that students should be taught gardening to enhance their attitudes towards entrepreneurial skills acquisition for self-reliance, among others.

Abstract:
The article addresses the issues of the acquisition of intercultural competence by teachers in a dynamically changing multicultural context. The acquisition of multicultural competence is understood as a creative effort of each teacher in the process of self-development and, consequently, in the process of shaping a culture of peace, which is directly related to the quality of intercultural education, education for peace. The authors present the competences and challenges governing intercultural education in a multicultural context, analysing the ideas and attitudes stemming from the spirit of tolerance and the values attributed to the dialogue conducted both in the domestic and foreign spheres. Such an attitude allows for the acquisition of so-called multicultural competence and the rejection of stigmatisation, xenophobia or extremist attitudes.

Abstract:
This work introduces a formal framework for the social acquisition of ontologies which are constructed dynamically from overhearing the possibly conflicting symbolic interaction of autonomous information sources, and an approach to the pragmatics of communicated ontological axioms. Technically, the framework is based on distributed variants of description logic for the formal contextualization of statements w.r.t. their respective provenance, speaker's attitude, addressees, and subjective degree of confidence. Doing so, our approach demarcates from the dominating more or less informal approaches to context and provenance representation on the semantic web, and carefully distinguishes between communication attitudes such as public assertion and intention exhibited on the (semantic) web on the one hand, and mental attitudes such as private belief on the other. Furthermore, our framework provides formal means for the probabilistic fusion of controversial opinions, and presents a semantics of information publishing acts. Our approach provides an incomplex and genuinely social approach to knowledge acquisition and representation, and is thus expected to be widely applicable in fields such as the semantic web and social software, and possibly also in other distributed environments such as P2P systems.

Abstract:
Summary The objective of the study was to determine and compare the attitudes of high school students of the non-inclusive school towards inclusive physical education according to gender. This study deepened the knowledge about the students’ attitudes toward the inclusion of students with physical and intellectual disabilities. The research sample comprised a total of 181 able-bodied high school students (56 boys and 125 girls) attending one non-inclusive high school in Bratislava, Slovakia. Modified Czech version of the CAIPE (Children’s Attitude toward Inclusive Physical Education) questionnaire was used as a primary research method. Girls presented higher levels of positive attitudes towards inclusive physical education (IPE) in goal achievement, motivation, and motor skills learning. Boys showed a higher level of positive attitudes in the self-confidence of students with disabilities through IPE. In the goal achievement, girls expressed a significantly higher positive attitude towards IPE in students with intellectual disabilities inclusion (U = 2817, p = 0.029, r = 0.168). The highest level of a positive attitude toward IPE declared both genders by society inclusion and the lowest level of positive attitude by motor skills acquisition. Slovak students of a non-inclusive high school showed a positive attitude toward IPE for the inclusion of pupils with physical as well as intellectual disabilities.

Abstract:
UBS's acquisition of Credit Suisse is a typical case of acquisitions between large banks, which has a great influence on the development of UBS itself and the Swiss banking industry. This paper aims to evaluate the success of the acquisition based on the changes in UBS’s stock price at the time of the acquisition news announcement and the actual occurrence of the acquisition. Through the study of UBS’s stock price fluctuations before and after the release of acquisition news, this paper finds that investors generally hold a positive attitude toward the impact of the acquisition on UBS's operation and future revenues. Through analysis of the stock price and owners' equity per share changes during the acquisition, it can be indicated that the income of UBS also increased significantly after the actual occurrence of the acquisition, which is confirmed by both the positive reaction of market investors and UBS's financial statements. The generally upward indicators such as stock price, return on stocks, and owners 'equity reflect the overall positive financial information of UBS, therefore UBS's acquisition can be considered successful to a large extent. According to this acquisition case, the acquisition is a significant means for large banks to enhance market investors' optimism about them, as well as reduce their operating costs and increase future revenues.

Abstract:
In this paper I discuss our socio-educational model of second language acquisition and demonstrate how it provides a fundamental research paradigm to investigate the role of attitudes and motivation in learning another language. This is a general theoretical model designed explicitly for the language learning situation, and is applicable to both foreign and second language learning contexts. It has three important features. First, it satisfies the scientific requirement of parsimony in that it involves a limited number of operationally defined constructs. Second, it has associated with it the Attitude/Motivation Test Battery (AMTB) that yields reliable assessments of its major constructs, permitting empirical tests of the model. Third, it is concerned with the motivation to learn and become fluent in another language, and not simply with task and/or classroom motivation.

Abstract:
Learners' ability and attitude are usually the most important determinants of language acquisition success. If students have passive initiatives in thinking and acting, it might have negative consequences. The study's goals are to investigate students' proactivity in learning English, discover the disparities in factors faced by three specializations, and draw some teaching implications at Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI). This study used qualitative descriptive research of 108 non-English-majored students from Business Administration, Food Technology, and Mechanical Engineering who attended a fifteen-week English 1 course. The survey of three questions with twelve items covers behavioral, cognitive, and emotional aspects of language attitudes. The findings reveal that students generally have an average proactive attitude toward English. On the other hand, the three majors are very different in terms of gender and attitudes toward English. Mechanical students had a little less proactive attitude than students in the other two specializations.

Abstract:
Farmers’ attitude plays a crucial role in the success of land acquisition. To add new insights and theoretical support for the effective governance of land acquisition, this paper examines the effectiveness of administrative power on farmers’ attitude and the mediating role of perceived fairness based on asymmetric dependency theory. The hypotheses were verified using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis conducted with data gathered from 250 questionnaire samples in rural areas of China. The results reveal that the coercion and transparency of administrative power have a significant positive impact on farmers’ attitude while normality’s influence is not significant. The coercion and transparency of administrative power have a significant positive impact on fairness while normality’s impact is not significant. The mediating effect of perceived fairness was insignificant. Therefore, local governments could encourage farmers to embrace a cooperative attitude in land acquisition negotiations by fostering a constructive interaction between the government and the public and pursuing a high-level institutional balance driven by a service-oriented government.

Abstract:
PurposeThe purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of cross-border acquisitions on brand image dimensions (functional, symbolic and global image) of the acquirer brand from a consumer’s perspective.Design/methodology/approachThe authors measured Chinese consumers’ perceptions of eight fictitious cross-border acquisition scenarios and tested the hypotheses by using multiple hierarchical regression.FindingsFirst, the acquisition significantly improves functional, symbolic and global image of the acquirer brand. Second, both image perceptions of the acquirer and the acquired brands before acquisition significantly impact post-image of the acquirer. The effect is greater for pre-image of the acquirer (dominance effect). Finally, brand fit, product fit and country-of-origin fit influence attitude toward the acquisition significantly.Research limitations/implicationsThere are limitations in the generalizations of the findings due to its reliance on a single country (China) and one industry (home appliances).Practical implicationsFirst, engaging in cross-border acquisitions significantly enhances the brand image of the acquirer brand. The global image has the largest improvement. Second, practitioners should carefully consider different levels of fit before the acquisition.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the extant literature by investigating brand acquisitions from the perspective of home country consumers (acquirer) and integrating multiple brand image dimensions and various levels of fit simultaneously.

Abstract:
Vibration information acquisition and representation control strategy in the experiment of construction of vehicle driver seat are investigated in this study. An improved adaptive algorithm of multisensor attitude data fusion is proposed. The nonlinear equations of vehicle attitude quaternions are constructed by using the test information of accelerometers and magnetometers. Then, a complementary filter is used to fuse the obtained attitude with gyroscope information to obtain attitude information during vehicle travel. Weight matrix and filter coefficients in the algorithm are adjusted with vehicle motions to ensure accuracy of attitude measurement under static, low-, and high-acceleration conditions. The vehicle vibration displacement information is reconstructed by the low-frequency attenuation integration method on the basis of attitude measurement to inhibit integral trend items and reduce vibration displacement reconstruction errors. The three-state controller is designed to control a six-degree-of-freedom hydraulic simulated vibration test bed, and the obtained vibration signal is used as an excitation signal to perform a vibration representation control test. Finally, results verify that the proposed method demonstrates favourable data fusion and representation accuracy.

Abstract:
People’s attitudes and anxiety towards impromptu speaking can negatively affect their performance and can create speaking anxiety in them. The aim of this study is to find out whether there is a significant relationship between the acquisition of storytelling skills and the impromptu speaking attitudes and speaking anxieties of 6th grade students. The nested pattern of the mixed method was used in the research. In the quantitative part of the research, a one-group, pretest-posttest experimental model was employed. The quantitative data were collected by the ‘Speaking Skill Attitude Scale’. Paired samples t-test was used to determine whether the storytelling training given to the students had an effect on their speaking attitudes, and the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test was used to determine whether it had an effect on their speaking anxiety. Qualitative data were also collected with student interview form and observation form. As the result of the research showed, the acquisition of storytelling was significantly associated with students’ impromptu speaking attitudes and anxiety levels. Therefore, it is important to provide students with the acquisition of storytelling to influence their attitudes and anxieties when delivering impromptu speeches.

This paper illustrates that the impacts of different factors on second language (L2) acquisition exhibit variability. Emphasizing the significance of individual diversity in second language acquisition (SLA) is crucial. Factors such as learners' motivation, attitude, age, IQ, aptitude, learning style, and personality, among others, play a role in shaping their approaches to, and potentially their success or failure in, acquiring a second language. initiates with an examination of the factors impacting second language acquisition. Thus, motivation, attitude, age, IQ, aptitude, cognitive style, and personality are acknowledged as contributing elements in second language acquisition. Certain factors are regarded as having greater influence, while others are seen as having equal significance. It is posited that typically, any child raised under normal conditions will proficiently acquire their first language.

Abstract:

This article examines the feasibility of introducing Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in the education system of Azerbaijan, and determining the most preferred target language for this matter. Azerbaijan is a country with traditions of multilingualism. There are certain challenges within the society in terms of ensuring communication among different linguistic groups, which necessitate examining appropriate language policy and acquisition solutions. CLIL, which enables individuals to learn more than two languages at relatively high level, seems to be a promising approach for overcoming the linguistic communication problems in Azerbaijan, and enabling to take socio-economic and cognitive advantages of multilingualism.

Whereas the question of feasibility of certain language acquisition approach in a specific country requires studying several dimensions such as public attitude, economic aspects and legal framework, the focus of the empirical research of this article is directed to learning the attitude to CLIL, which is a relatively under researched field. In the research part, it is sought to answer questions whether CLIL is supported among students in Azerbaijan, and which foreign language is preferred most. Moreover, it was sought to examine the relationship among the variables of gender, social class, existing language skills, as well as attitudes to CLIL and target language preference.

It was found that CLIL is supported by participants, and English is the most preferred foreign language. It indicates that multilingual societies like Azerbaijan are supportive of language acquisition choices that help preserve and develop multilingualism. Moreover, it was found that attitude to language acquisition method and the language itself differ due to income level and existing language skills.

Abstract:
A trial was designed to evaluate the role of enhanced parental attitude towards management of intellectual disability in the acquisition of adaptive behaviour. Fifty-seven children with intellectual disability and their parents were randomly assigned to 12 weeks of either multimodal adaptive behaviour training plus interactive group psycho-education (intervention group); or multimodal adaptive behaviour training plus didactic lectures (control group). Blinded raters were involved. Completers’ and intention-to-treat analyses were conducted. In the intention-to-treat sample, 22 of 29 children in the intervention group compared with four of 28 children in the control group showed a significant improvement in the acquisition of adaptive behaviour. The minimum additive efficacy provided by the enhanced parental attitude was 80 percent. Meaningful clinical benefits on various measures were found for the intervention group after training. Parental attitude intervention should be included in adaptive behaviour training for children with intellectual disability, as enhanced parental attitude has short-term positive effects.

Abstract:

Abstract – The proliferation of stock investment applications has significantly augmented the accessibility and speed of acquiring investment-related information. However, the ease of information access may inadvertently lead to information overload, fostering confusion and, in extreme cases, user avoidance of these applications. Despite the potential ramifications of overload information on avoidance behaviors, research linking consumer confusion to avoidance attitudes and intentions remains scarce. This study seeks to bridge this gap by identifying factors influencing individuals' intentions to avoid using stock investment applications, specifically focusing on information acquisition, overload confusion, and avoidance attitudes. Conducted through online questionnaires, data collection involved 130 responses that met the specified criteria, subsequently analyzed using SmartPLS 3 software. The findings reveal that effective information acquisition diminishes avoidance attitudes and intentions but does not impact overload confusion. Furthermore, overload confusion escalates avoidance attitudes without influencing intention to avoid. Notably, avoidance attitudes exhibit a positive correlation with the intention to avoid using stock investment applications. This research contributes to the academic landscape by shedding light on the underexplored role of overload confusion in shaping avoidance behaviors, offering insights not extensively addressed in prior studies. Moreover, it provides valuable implications for practitioners in the financial industry, offering guidance for the development of more effective marketing strategies in the context of stock investment applications.

Keywords: intention to avoid, information acquisition, overload confusion, avoidance attitude

Abstract:
This article discusses a recurrent connectionist network, simulating empirical phenomena usually explained by current dual-process approaches of attitudes, thereby focusing on the processing mechanisms that may underlie both central and peripheral routes of persuasion. Major findings in attitude formation and change involving both processing modes are reviewed and modeled from a connectionist perspective. We use an autoassociative network architecture with a linear activation update and the delta learning algorithm for adjusting the connection weights. The network is applied to well-known experiments involving deliberative attitude formation, as well as the use of heuristics of length, consensus, expertise, and mood. All these empirical phenomena are successfully reproduced in the simulations. Moreover, the proposed model is shown to be consistent with algebraic models of attitude formation (Fishbein & Ajzen, 1975). The discussion centers on how the proposed network model may be used to unite and formalize current ideas and hypotheses on the processes underlying attitude acquisition and how it can be deployed to develop novel hypotheses in the attitude domain.

Abstract:
For some individuals with autism spectrum disorder, driving apprehension may interfere with the acquisition and application of driving privileges. The Driving Attitude Scale Parent-Report provides an indication of novice drivers’ positive and negative attitudes toward driving. Responses were compared for parents of 66 autism spectrum disorder and 166 neuro-typical novice drivers. After the autism spectrum disorder drivers completed 3 months of driver training, 60 parents repeated the Driving Attitude Scale Parent-Report. Parents reported autism spectrum disorder drivers to have less positive and more negative attitudes toward driving than parents of neuro-typical drivers. Parents of autism spectrum disorder drivers who received driving training in a safe/low-threat virtual reality driving simulator demonstrated a significant increase in positive attitudes and reduction in negative attitudes, compared to parents of autism spectrum disorder drivers undergoing routine driver training. The reports of parents of autism spectrum disorder drivers suggest potential problems with learning to drive that can go beyond general abilities and include driving apprehension.

Abstract:
The study of students’ motivation and attitude in second language (L2) has recently become an important concept across disciplines of second language acquisition (SLA) and communication. This study sought to validate Gadner’s (2009) Attitude Motivation Test Battery (AMBT) on a population of Arabic language learners in Nigeria, and to determine their attitudes and motivations for learning Arabic language. The sample comprised two hundred and eighty eight (288) Arabic language students from six (6) universities in Nigeria. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was conducted to explore the dimensions of the AMBT in Nigerian context. Twenty three out of the fifty items with factor loading greater than .40 loaded on four factors with eigenvalues greater than 1.0. Four constructs of the questionnaire are: Integrativeness, Attitudes toward the learning situation, Motivation and Instrumentality. The results showed that students had high levels of both integrativeness and attitude towards the learning situation, while their levels of motivation and instrumentality was very low. There was a positive and moderate correlation between integrativenness and attitude toward the learning situation while the correlations between attitude and motivation and integrativeness and motivation were very low. Instrumentality failed to correlate with any of the factors. Multiple regression analysis showed that attitude toward the learning situation was a good predictor of students’ integrativeness. Based on these findings, some pedagogical recommendations were provided for the improvement of the students’ motivation and attitude towards the learning of Arabic language in Nigerian universities.

Abstract:
In the past year, video blogs (vlogs) seem to have become a major form of information acquisition and entertainment socializing for the Internet users. The vlog, which is essentially a digital diary, is an emerging video content form and is touted by multimedia as the next mainstay of the video blogging era. Many creators have achieved self-branding and self-promotion through the continuous output of vlogs. Vlog visibility has greatly increased and has become a new territory for promotion. Therefore, analyzing the impact of vlog promotional content on consumer attitudes is important to provide companies with a theoretical basis for developing vlog promotions. Based on a large amount of literature and book research, this study proposes three attitude components in reference to the ABC attitude model: cognitive attitude, affective attitude, and behavioral tendency. Based on this, a questionnaire was designed to determine the influence of vlog promotion on consumer attitudes, and correlation and regression analyses were conducted on the three outcome and six predictor variables according to the results. All six predictors were determined to have different degrees of influence on consumer attitudes, with the vlogger’s (who provides the vlog) understanding of the advertised products having the most influence on cognitive attitudes. This was also the most influential factors in affective attitudes and behavioral tendency; the second-most influential factors for these are the degree of fan interactivity with the vlogger and vlog content, respectively.

Abstract:
As a new type of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) inertial sensor, the Quartz Vibrating Beam Accelerometer (QVBA) is widely used in intelligent sweeping robots, small aircraft, navigation systems, etc. For these applications, correcting and compensating the attitude angle with the result of acceleration plays an important role to improve the measurement accuracy. The synchronization error between the measurement of the accelerometer and gyroscope attitude angle has an adverse impact on the accuracy of the attitude angle. In this paper, a synchronous acquisition scheme of the accelerometer and gyroscope attitude angle in a strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) is proposed. At the same time, to improve the sampling accuracy and the conversion speed of QVBA, an improved equal-precision frequency measuring method is also implemented in this paper. The hardware float point unit (FPU) is used to accelerate the calculation of the frequency measurement value. The long-term cumulative error of the frequency measurement value is less than 10 − 4 . The calculation process time from sampling to attitude angle compensation calculation is reduced by 40.8%. This work has played a very good role in improving the measurement accuracy and speed of the SINS.

Abstract:
X-ray communication (XCOM) is an emerging laser communication technique for deep space applications. Traditional link acquisition of laser communications depends significantly on Earth support and shows little autonomy. For XCOM, a pulsar vector observation-based link acquisition method is proposed, which utilizes noncooperative pulsars in deep space as beacons to acquire absolute attitude information and accomplish link acquisition. Firstly, a pulsar vector observation model was established based on the coordinate definition of the X-ray detector and X-ray collimator model. Secondly, a modified “success-failure” pulsar vector search algorithm with two degrees of freedom was proposed to acquire the pulsar vector. With the pulsar vector and the relative attitude obtained from inertial sensors, the link acquisition pointing vector could be determined. Finally, the performance of the proposed method was evaluated using numerical experiments, and factors that influence the performance are discussed and analyzed.
