Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate changes and interrelationships of oral health-related knowledge, attitudes and behavior between the ages of 11 and 16 during a randomized clinical trial (RCT) for controlling caries and a program of oral health promotion (OHP). The study population consisted of all 5th and 6th graders who started the 2001−2002 school year in Pori (n=1691) and Rauma (n=807), Finland.
