Full textPurpose: The purpose of this study is to examine Attractive work according to Generation Y. This study originates from Åteg, Hedlund, Pontén (2004) model of the attractive work. With the purpose to engender a deeper understanding to the parts which make up the entirety of what makes work attractive according to Generation Y. , Theory: Initially, the study address the definition of Generation Y and what the generation as a homogeneous group tends to value for the experience of Attractive work. Further on, the study presents an understanding for what an attractive work entail. Lastly Åteg et al. (2004) model of an attractive work which builds upon three categories (Arbetsförhållande [working relationship], Arbetsinnehåll [work content] and Arbetstillfredsställelse [job satisfaction]) is being presented. These three categories which include 22 attributes proposes Åteg et al. (2004) constitutes and define the Attractive work. Method: The study was conducted in a case study with 99 respondents. The data was collected by a physical survey which was answered during the respondents working hours. Of the 99 asked to participate 30 answered the survey. This led to a responding frequency of 30,3 %. The data was then processed in the analyzing program IBM SPSS statistics 24 to conclude the empirical foundation. Findings: From the result it was possible to distinguish a pattern from the three categories and their significance to the experience of work attractiveness. The pattern indicate that Arbetstillfredsställelse is of a lesser significance to Generation Y’s experience of work attractiveness compared to Arbetsförhållande and Arbetsinnehåll.

Full textTitle: Attractive work within elderly care – What characterizes an attractive workplace for assistant nurses and care assistants? Background and problematisation: Within a few years more elderly will be in need of some type of nursing care. This due to that mankind lives longer and have multiple diagnoses renders the need of more qualified nursing care. There is also a need to recruit new employees due to the large number of retirements coming up to the year 2026. There is a challenge in retaining and attract new employees to the elderly care though the profession has tough working conditions and low salaries. What makes employees stay in the profession is that they see the meaningfulness in helping other people and that they are well invested in their work. Purpose: The purpose with this study is to explain and to some extent grasp what characterize an attractive workplace for assistant nurses and care assistants within the elderly care to get an understanding how they can be attracted and retained in the elderly care profession. Theoretical reference frame: This study has been inspired by the model for attractive work. The model is based on factors that constitutes an attractive workplace. Due to the extensiveness of the mode, this study has chosen applicable factors to use within the elderly care system. Previous research: This study shows previous research that touches on the history, different approaches, challenges and strengths. Focus in on assistant nurses and care assistant's role and prerequisites. The study also looks at what perceives as good and what can be changed to the better to create an attractive workplace that can retain and recruit new employees. Method: This study has been inspired to use a quantitative method due to two other studies that used the model attractive work. Results and conclusions: The results show that the relationship between work colleges and caretakers are ranked high and is the cause to that employees thrive at the workplace. The employees feel commitment to the work but at the same time have emotions of insufficiency and stress. The study points to factors considered valuable for an attractive workplace. The factors could potentially make employees retain in elderly care if they are offered - greater participation in decisions, a work schedule that the employee fells comfortable with and higher salaries. It is also important to feel a professional pride and that the public view of a low status work is changed so they understand the importance and the complexity of the task that assistant nurses and care assistants within the elderly care performs

Full textDen svenska arbetsmarkanden befinner sig i en osäker period, arbetslösheten ökar. Trots detta förväntar man sig en arbetskraftsbrist i framtiden, vilken kräver insatser och en ansträngning från samhällets och företagens sida. För att kunna behålla arbetskraften, värva nya medarbetare samt utveckla personalen krävs ett arbete som attraherar personal.I min studie har jag valt att använda mig av en standardiserad enkät utformad av Tema arbetsliv på Högskolan Dalarna med frågor rörande kvaliteter som kännetecknar ett attraktivt arbete. Frågorna baseras på en modell av vilka kvaliteter som kännetecknar ett attraktivt arbete.Syftet med studien är att undersöka vad poliser i yttre tjänst vid ordningsavdelningen upplever vara ett attraktivt arbete samt hur väl det överensstämmer med deras nuvarande arbetssituation.De kvaliteter som ansågs vara viktigast för att ett arbete ska vara attraktivt är arbetskamrater och relationen till dem, förtroende och en bra kommunikation med den närmaste chefen, arbetet ska även vara intressant, utvecklande och ge en möjlighet att få lära sig nya saker. En känsla av att det man gör är viktigt och att man gör ett bra arbete. Lönen är en avgörande faktor för att ett arbete ska vara attraktivt.De kvaliteter som står i fetstil är de anställda nöjd med i sin nuvarande arbetssituation bland de kvaliteter som nämns som de allra viktigaste. Det som kan förbättras är först och främst lönen, man bör även utveckla relationen mellan de anställda och den närmaste chefen, man bör förbättra kommunikationen på arbetsplatsen och informera de anställda om vad som händer i verksamheten, få de anställda att känna sig delaktiga. Man bör även se över lokaler, inredning och utrustning.

Full textHR function's role in an organization is to safeguard the human resource and ensure that good working conditions are achieved. This is to attract, recruit, retain and develop skills (Kira 2003). In recent years, working conditions and working conditions attracted the attention of local authorities in Sweden, among other heads of units in the elderly. Working conditions and above all the high staff turnover among these, has led to a problem that was one of the valets important issues in 2014. The aim of this study is to describe the working conditions of unit managers in smaller municipalities in Sweden, the social sector and highlight how these could be improved. We have used Orsa kommun in this study. The results of the survey showed that the employment situation of heads of unit is overpowering when the work structure it poor and the level of stress is high. Unit managers themselves would benefit from an assistant and a job description to reduce the load and the structure of the work. Our conclusion is that municipalities in Sweden should work to create better working conditions for home directors and work to ease the workload. Our proposal to Orsa kommun is to take the help of our action plan and to employ assistants to heads of unit as well as create job descriptions. Further research on the subject could enlighten the importance of mentoring in the public sector within the municipalities in Sweden and the organizational structure to create more attractive work conditions.
