Abstract:
This study starts with the premise that changes in consumption methods, production of various digital contents, the emergence of new generations, and the spread of new media inevitably change the publishing industry amid the advancement of the digital age, and starts with a question of how e-books, audio-books, and chat-books are accepted by users. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, it was found that expectations for service quality had a positive (+) effect on service quality performance in all e-book, audio-book, and chat-book platforms. Second, in the case of e-books and audio-books, service quality expectations had a negative (-) effect on the expected mismatch, while chat-books did not show a significant influence relationship. Third, it was found that service quality performance had a positive (+) effect on expectation mismatch in all e-book, audio-book, and chat-book platforms. Fourth, in the case of audio-books and chat-books, service quality performance had a positive (+) effect on platform satisfaction, while e-books did not show a significant influence relationship. Fifth, in the case of e-books and audio-books, expectation mismatch had a positive (+) effect on platform satisfaction, while chat-books did not show a significant influence relationship. Finally, it was found that platform satisfaction had a positive (+) effect on reuse intention in all e-books, audio-books, and chat-books. It is expected that this study will be used as an initial data comparing and analyzing the satisfaction and reuse intention of e-book, audio-book, and chat-book platforms based on the expectancy disconfirmation theory, and will serve as a meaningful stepping stone for future research.

Abstract:
The focus of this study on the implementation of audio books as teaching media for blind students in learning English. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of audio books as teaching media for blind students in learning English and to find out audio books used in learning EFL. The study was conducted at SLB YAPTI Makassar with a number of samples taken were 20 students conducted randomly. The instruments in this study were tests, observations, and questionnaires. The results of the study show that the implementation of audio books as teaching media for blind students in learning English can help students in the learning process. The implementation of the audio book also increases student motivation in learning because it makes it easier for students to study anywhere and anytime.

Abstract:
Purpose of the Study: Understanding implicatures in TOEFL Short Dialogues is difficult. It is essential to develop web-based media to boost implicature understanding. This current study aimed at testing the implicature inference-making ability of English teachers, identifying the factors that affect listening difficulties and developing web-mediated audio-visual books for the TOEFL. Methodology: This is a three-phase R & D model: 1) ‘Research Phase’ (Testing the English teachers listening ability; Examining factors affecting implicatures understanding; and Profiling the English teachers listening abilities); 2) ‘Development Phase’ (Constructing the test instrument; Formulating Learning Objectives; Selecting Audio-visual materials, Designing the web-mediated audio-visual book; Validating and revising the book) and ‘Production Phase’ (Dissemination and Mass Production). Main Finding: The products of the ‘Research phase’: 1) Listening ability, 2) Factors affecting listening, 3) Profile of the English teachers’ pragmatic ability. There are five primary causes of difficulty, ‘Speech Rate Delivery,’ ‘Voice,’ ‘Sentence Complexity,’ ‘Mishearing,’ and ‘Colloquial.’ The product of the ‘Development Phase’ is a ‘Web-based audiovisual book for the TOEFL Short Dialogues.’ All lessons are aided with online links to audio and videos. Finally, the product of ‘Production Phase’ is a massed published book. Novelty/Originality of the Study: No single study has ever been reported that focused on developing a web-mediated audio-visual listening book to boost the understanding of implicatures in the TOEFL Short Dialogues.

Abstract:
Textbooks are the main media used by teachers and students in instructional process. Therefore, the qawaid nahwu learning book that are unstructured, general and not equipped with various examples, it will make students feel bored and do not understand about the qawaid nahwu. In this study, the researcher was developing an Arabic learning book for grade five in 2013 curriculum by using audio-visual media. This research was designed to find out how to develop Arabic learning books for grade five in 2013 curriculum using audio-visual media and how to determine the effectiveness of Arabic learning books for grade five in 2013 curriculum by using audio-visual media. Furthermore, the Research and Development model by Borg and Gall was conducted in this study as research method. Data collection consisted of interviews, questionnaires and tests. In addition, the participants in this study were 280 students as population, and the students in all grade five insists of 25 students were taken as sample. according to the results, the researcher found that book development has been carried out through 10 stages: Potential and problems, gathering information, product design, design validation in this the value of the first expert was 78 % and the second expert was 77 % it showed that this bool agrees to be used learning qawaid nahwiyah, design improvement, product testing, product revision, usage testing, product revision and mass product manufacturing . meanwhile, the results of the effectiveness test using the t test showed that the t count was greater than the t table, namely 4.1 based on a significance level of 5% 2.06 and 1% 2.80.

Abstract:
Thai massage therapists with visual impairment see the need to improve their English in order to be competent in a wider market as Thailand is officially joining the AEC in 2015. However, their access to learning resources is still very limited. The objectives of this research were therefore (1) to develop an audio book which would enable learners with visual impairment to study and practice the English necessary for their profession, and (2) to examine their feedback for further improvement. A syllabus was designed and the prototype audio book was developed in MP3 format. Participants included professional massage therapists, and massage apprentices, all with visual impairment. They were divided into two groups: those who self-studied the audiobook and those who studied the audio book with an instructor in a classroom environment. The pre/post-test results showed that the average scores of both groups were higher, but that the latter group scored significantly higher due to the better discipline and motivation obtained from a classroom atmosphere. The assessment questionnaires and interviews revealed that both groups were satisfied with the overall layout of the prototype audio book, but preferred to have tutorial assistance due to their limited background of English. Data collected through class observation, class discussion, informal interviews, and participation in the life of the group was used for the improvement of the content and the presentation style of the final version of the audio book. Finally it was made into MP3 CD format, a large print book, and was also translated into Braille. The MP3 CDs and the Braille books were then distributed to the participating organizations and were incorporated as part of their curricula and their annual language training.

The results showed Applications User Satisfaction Audio books are quite satisfied with the results of the calculation IKP 69.58%..

Lazy Audio is a very successful platform in the long-form audio field which was established in 2012 and had become a leading audio book platform after many years of development. On January 15, 2021, Tencent Music Entertainment Group acquired Lazy Audio for 2.1 billion yuan. After researching the strategic goals and significance of Tencent Music Entertainment Group, the article believes that the acquisition is to gain a foothold in the long-form audio market and to supplement its own "business ecosystem" in the sound industry. The article also analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) of the acquisition and believes that it is a successful one. After the completion of the acquisition, Tencent Music Entertainment Group needs to pay attention to the future development direction of the platform. Lazy Audio is a vertical audio book platform that has some shortcomings compared to comprehensive audio book platforms. So, in the future, it can try to transform. And Tencent Music Entertainment Group also needs to pay attention to copyright related issues, and related regulations and policies.

Innovation on book industry, textbooks of particular, tends to be relatively static, eventhough the demand and the development of ICT advances very fast. This article aims to study the benefits and the development model of ICT based textbooks. This article applies a review method of relevant literature. The results show that the benefits of ICT-based textbooks are among others: enabling the content presented in multimedia format so that it becomes more attractive and easily understood, learning becomes more active, variety, interactive, more productive in efficient manner, and in line with the development trend of the digital native generation.The ICT-based textbooks development can be packaged in audiobooks and e-books. The development of audiobooks and e-books is done by repackaging the printed books into audio media by optimizing dialogue or monologue, music, and sound effects aspects.The development model of e-books and audiobooks is done by changing the printed book content into digital format including the text, images, audio, video, animation, and interactive simulations according to the characteristics of the lesson content. The study concluded that ICT-based textbooks needs to be developed in the models of audiobook and e-book by presenting the learning content in multimedia format so that it becomes more attractive and easily understood by learners. AbstrakInovasi industri perbukuan terutama buku teks pelajaran cenderung statis, padahal tuntutan dan perkembangan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) sangat pesat. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji manfaat dan model pengembangan buku teks pelajaran berbasis TIK. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode kajian literatur yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa manfaat buku teks pelajaran berbasis TIK antara lain: menyajikan konten mutimedia sehingga lebih menarik dan mudah dipahami; belajar lebih aktif, variatif, dan interaktif; secara produksi lebih efisien; serta sesuai dengan trend perkembangan generasi digital native. Pengembangan buku teks pelajaran berbasis TIK dapat dilakukan melalui model audiobook dan e-book. Pengembangan model audiobook dilakukan dengan cara mengemas buku cetak ke dalam media audio dengan mengotimalkan aspek: dialog/monolog, musik, dan efek suara. One of the language skills in language learning is listening. For this lesson, listening material is needed in audio and video. The purpose of this research is to analyze listening material from Sahabatku Indonesia (SI-A1-multimedia/English; compare student assessments of two audio materials in two SI-A1- multimedia/English books and a regular book; identify student assessments of some audio SI-A2-Anak Sekolah teaching materials. This research is qualitative—data collection through observation and interviews. The informants were BIPA KNB IPB 2021, students. The findings were that the positions of the listening material for Units 4 and 5 were switched, all material was in the form of audio monologues and dialogues, there was no emphasis on sound, there was a discrepancy between the audio text and the written text, there were other recordings that were not part of the material in audio. Students assess two audios in two different materials at different speeds. Students consider BIPA2 audio to be very fast. Need student assessment of the material. The conclusion is that errors are still found in the listening teaching materials, and the teaching materials are still assessed quickly by BIPA students at levels A1 and A2.Salah satu keterampilan berbahasa dalam pembelajaran bahasa adalah menyimak. Untuk pembelajaran ini dibutuhkan materi menyimak berupa audio dan video. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis materi menyimak Sahabatku Indonesia (SI-A1-multimedia/Inggris); membandingkan penilaian pemelajar terhadap dua materi audio dalam dua buku SI-A1-multimedia/Inggris dan buku biasa; mengidentifikasi penilaian pemelajar terhadap beberapa audio materi ajar SI-A2-Anak Sekolah. Ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara. Informannya mahasiswa BIPA KNB IPB 2021. Temuannya, tertukarnya posisi materi menyimak Unit 4 dan 5, semua materi berupa audio monolog-dialog, tidak adanya penekanan pada bunyi, adanya ketidaksesuaian antara teks audio dengan teks tertulis, adanya rekaman lain yang tidak bagian materi dalam audio. Dua audio dalam dua materi yang berbeda dinilai pemelajar berbeda kecepatannya. Audio BIPA2 dinilai pemelajar masih sangat cepat. Perlu penilaian pemelajar terhadap materi. Simpulannya adalah masih ditemukan kesalahan dalam materi ajar menyimak dan materi ajar masih dinilai cepat oleh pemelajar BIPA tingkat A1 dan A2.

Especially, students pursuing professional courses like medicine, etc., should make the maximum use of these new peripherals in technology. This paper significantly brings out the usage pattern of various mobile devices, database meant for medical education and various apps for e-book reader and audio books. The data from 1150 students belonging to 16 medical colleges in Karnataka were obtained through questionnaire, interview and observation techniques and the findings were elaborated with the help of suitable statistical techniques.

The article examines a new genre of advertising media products – the booktrailer, and offers a refined definition of it: booktrailer is a genre of advertising media products that synthesizes verbal, visual, and audio elements to promote books through information technology. The genre and style specifics of contemporary Ukrainian booktrailers about the war are determined. The conditional chronological division of the studied booktrailerized texts about the war has been applied into those written before the full-scale invasion (S. Zhadan “Boarding School” (2017), T. Horikha Zernia “Dotsia” (2019)), and those created after it (N. Sukhorukova “Mariupol. Hope”, P. Vyshebaba “Just Don’t Write to Me About the War”, V. Stancyshyn “Emotional Swings of War”, O. Mykhed “Cat, Rooster, Locker”). Each booktrailer contains narrative elements. Their use depends on the content of the video and varies in length and nature of the narrative. The use of visual elements, such as color palette, graphics, photos, animation, or video, can help convey the style or mood of a book. Audio accompaniment – voiceover, audio recordings of interviews with writers, voiced fragments of the book’s text, music – carries both a semantic and emotional load. The popularity of booktrailers is driven by the surge in social media activity, as well as the sale of books in electronic format, which maximizes the logistics of the book to the reader: viewed the booktrailer → ordered the book → received it on an electronic medium. The linguistic specificity of booktrailers varies depending on the target audience and the genre of the book. The language used in book trailers for books about war is intended to convey the tension, emotionality, and tragic (or life-affirming) nature of events related to military conflict. The target audience of Ukrainian booktrailers for books about the war covers different categories of readers of different ages, interests, and social status, as the war is now affecting the entire population of Ukraine to some extent.

AsbtractInnovation on book industry, textbooks of particular, tends to be relatively static, eventhough the demand and the development of ICT advances very fast. This article aims to study the bene ts and the development model of ICT based textbooks. This article applies a review method of relevant literature. The results show that the bene- ts of ICT-based textbooks are among others: enabling the content presented in multimedia format so that it becomes more a ractive and easily understood, learning becomes more active, variety, inter- active, more productive in e cient manner, and in line with the development trend of the digital native generation.The ICT-based textbooks development can be packaged in audiobooks and e-books. The development of audiobooks and e-books is done by repackaging the printed books into audio media by optimizing dialogue or mono- logue, music, and sound e ects aspects.The development model of e-books and audiobooks is done by changing the printed book content into digital format including the text, images, audio, video, anima- tion, and interactive simulations according to the characteristics of the lesson content. The study concluded that ICT-based textbooks needs to be developed in the models of audiobook and e-book by pre- senting the learning content in multimedia format so that it becomes more a ractive and easily understood by learners. AbstrakInovasi industri perbukuan terutama buku teks pelajaran cende- rung statis, padahal tuntutan dan perkembangan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) sangat pesat. Tulisan ini ber- tujuan untuk mengkaji manfaat dan model pengembangan buku teks pelajaran berbasis TIK. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode kajian literatur yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjuk- kan bahwa manfaat buku teks pelajaran berbasis TIK antara lain: menyajikan konten mutimedia sehingga lebih menarik dan mudah dipahami; belajar lebih aktif, variatif, dan inter- aktif; secara produksi lebih e sien; serta sesuai dengan trend perkembangan generasi digital native. Pengembangan buku teks pelajaran berbasis TIK dapat dilakukan melalui model audiobook dan e-book. Pengembangan model audiobook dilaku- kan dengan cara mengemas buku cetak ke dalam media audio dengan mengotimalkan aspek: dialog/monolog, musik, dan efek suara. Pengembangan model e-book dilakukan dengan cara mengubah sajian konten buku cetak ke dalam format digital, meliputi unsur: teks, gambar, audio, video, animasi, dan simulasi interaktif sesuai dengan karakteristik dari kon- ten pelajaran tersebut. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa buku teks pelajaran berbasis TIK perlu dikembangkan baik model audiobook maupun e-book dengan menyajikan konten pembe- lajaran secara multimedia sehingga lebih menarik dan mudah dipahami oleh peserta didik.

An internet of things (IoT) is an exclusive method, were its impact on the enactments of human life is very trendy. This research on library control system operates on the basis of IoT and optical character recognition (OCR) algorithm rules and its training. A closed-circuit television (CCTV) watched mechanism is created to control the book issuing and returning phenomenon via tag studying system in the library. In this proposed work text file is converted into an audio file. This audio file is being played and the contents of the book can be heard via the headset. This unique function of the OCR helps blind people. Now a days OCR widely focused in machine processes such as machine transformation, text to speech extraction and text data mining. It utilized in various area of research in artificial intelligence, computer vision and pattern recognition. Using OCR to scan the damaged book in the library converted into pdf format the book gets new life and sharing the contents to multiple readers. In this paper aims to implement IoT based library management system to maintaining books in digital format.

Abstract:
The Community Service Program (PkM) is designed to provide practical training on digital book production for teachers at Lab School of UPI, Purwakarta. This project was conducted offline with 9 participants, under the COVID-19 health protocol. The material was presented in 3 forms, termed face-to-face, Zoom video conferencing and the training video. Also, 4 open-source web-based softwares were explored, including Canva for book covers, Vocaroo as an audio explainer and Animaker for motion graphics-based videos. The results of these three applications were combined by Sigil into an EPUB-formatted digital book. Subsequently, the training employed an interactive format, with a combination of classical and practical activities. Based on the overall results, the participants were known to obtain extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in digital book compilation. These teachers were able to operate the digital tools to create book covers, online audio recording and animated videos, as well as integrate the independent copies into digital books. Furthermore, the material content, delivery method and practical implementation showed a satisfactory outcome by 86.2, 85 and 88%, respectively. Therefore, the newly acquired skills are expected to reflect on the teaching materials for online learning at SD Lab School of UPI Purwakarta, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pengembangan model ADDIE yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan media Pop-Up Book Berbasis Audio dan Android materi metamorfosis hewan dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran dengan kategori “sangat baik” berdasarkan hasil persentase ahli media sebesar 91,5% dan ahli materi sebesar 100%, serta angket respon peserta didik dengan skor sebesar 87,6%. Abstract: This study aims to develop an Audio and Android-based Pop-Up Book media for animal metamorphosis material so that students are able to distinguish and sequence the animal metamorphosis cycle correctly. Based on the results of the research on the development of the ADDIE model that has been carried out, it shows that the development of the Audio and Android-based Pop-Up Book media for animal metamorphosis material can be used in the learning process in the "very good" category based on the results of the percentage of media experts of 91.5% and material experts of 100. %, as well as student response questionnaires with a score of 87.6%.

The article deals with the assistive technologies that can be used by visually-impaired students to master Business English. The research aimed at developing a special academic course that would allow visually-challenged students to interact with their groupmates during distance learning. The author developed an audio book called Business English: Audio Materials for Visually-Impaired Students and based the new course on the existing assistive technologies. The book includes audio materials, e.g., lectures, examples of business communication, exercises with answer keys, extra tasks with answer keys, a final test, and an audio dictionary of business vocabulary. The course can be taught as tutorials or independently. The teaching and presenting methods proved effective and satisfy the requirements for educational courses for the blind and visually impaired people. The article shows the way the theory and practice presented in the audio format can facilitate the process of learning business vocabulary by listening.

This paper reports on research conducted to improve understanding of human-rare historic book interaction as a necessary first step in order to design and develop physical-virtual renderings of rare books that provide integrated haptic, audio, olfactory, visual and cognitive human-rare book interaction for the public. Our synthesis of relevant literature proposes that current research and technology can be categorized according to five characteristics: expected users, content and content management, navigation, presentation, and interaction control. Our research investigates how young adults (novices) in northern Europe interact with a rare historic book and their reflections about their interaction. Results indicate that interaction engendered appreciation and curiosity regarding individual human behaviour and social practices, and regarding design and technology for novices. Interaction also had an affective impact, eliciting personal memories and emotions. Participants reported that interacting only visually with books or their representations would not have afforded the same results. The results suggest several design recommendations for future physical-virtual renderings of rare historic books.

Abstract: Books as a medium of literacy are presented normally, making students less interested. Developing puppet media needs to be done. This research aims to develop Puppet Book media. This research method, R&D with Borg and Gall research design. The results of the study were in the form of a one-horned rhinoceros puppet learning media complete with books and audio attached to the puppets. The results of the validation of media experts (average value 90.285%), linguists (average value 99.167%), material experts (average value 92.105%). The results of validation (media, language, material) with a very decent category. The results of the questionnaire responses of students in field trials showed 96.41% with very good criteria. Based on these results, the final product in the form of a puppet book based on multiliteration learning is suitable for the learning activities of fourth grade elementary school students. Abstrak: Buku sebagai media literasi yang disajikan biasa, membuat peserta didik kurang tertarik. Pengembangkan media puppet perlu dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media Puppet Book. Metode penelitian ini, R&D dengan desain penelitian Borg and Gall. Hasil penelitian berupa media pembelajaran puppet badak bercula satu yang dilengkapi buku serta audio yang terpasang pada puppet. Hasil validasi ahli media (nilai rata- rata 90,285%), ahli bahasa (nilai rata- rata 99,167%), ahli materi (nilai rata- rata 92,105%). Hasil validasi (media, bahasa, materi) dengan kategori sangat layak. Hasil angket respon siswa pada uji coba lapangan menunjukan 96,41% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, produk akhir berupa puppet book berbasis pembelajaran multiliterasi layak digunakan untuk kegiatan belajar siswa kelas IV SD.

Pada desain A- B menunjukkan suatu pengulangan pada dua fase yaitu fase baseline (A) dan fase intervensi (B). kemampuan kosa kata VM dalam bahasa mandarin melalui media audio book mengalami peningkatan hal ini ditunjukkan dengan perolehan data nilai pada fase baseline adalah 33%, 25%, 37%, 37% sedangkan nilai intervensi adalah 46%, 58%, 83%, 83%. Data pada fase baseline dan intervensi kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis dalam kondisi dan analisis antar kondisi sehingga kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya peningkatan kemampuan kosa kata bahasa mandarin melalui media audio book (buku bersuara) pada siswa lamban belajar kelas V di SD Aletheia Lumajang.

Using a library approach through data collection on the website, this study examines the development of the book industry and its relationship with reading culture in Malaysia. In addition, factors that promote reading culture were also identified. In conclusion, efforts to increase the publication of books and cultivate the community with book activities must be continued and support from all parties must be done so that books can be fully utilized by the community.

Within this study, seven 6th graders participated in a video game book group during language arts instructional time. The study focused on tweens’ figured worlds of literacy and video games and the intersections and divergences of these worlds. The research involved a comparative case study of two books (a video game text and a video game–related text), with all book group meetings audio-recorded, transcribed, and coded. The data provide support that tweens hold different figured worlds of in-school literacy versus gaming; this finding has implications for educators regarding tweens’ literacy practices within and beyond the classroom.

Based on data from the Ministry of Social Affairs for 2022, the total number of blind people is 11,368 and low vision is 6,818 with a total of 18,186 blind people in Indonesia. As many as 21.9% of the total number of persons with disabilities are persons with disabilities who are in the effective period of obtaining proper education. On the other hand, educational facilities and infrastructure are not fully friendly to persons with disabilities. The Center for Development and Empowerment of Kindergarten and Special Education Educators and Education Personnel (PPPPTK and PLB), which is under the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, recommends the use of assistive devices to help students who have visual impairments. Responding to these challenges, this application was developed to help read books or print media. The results of testing this application are easy to use because it has a simple appearance and there is an audio guide. It was found that the development of this innovative product is a user-friendly assistive application for the blind with the main features of Audio Guide Assistance, Auto Capture, Image to Speech, Audio book and Multiple Audio-page Grouping.

The Waterfall method will be used to help design the library system at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Cipondoh. The Waterfall method is a method that is very commonly used in the early stages of the manufacturing process. Application features developed by researchers at the Muhammadiyah 2 Cipondoh High School library include logins, book master data, book loan transaction data, book return transaction data, and book borrowing reports. Library information system development uses the PHP CodeIgniter 3 framework. The front ends used are HTML 5, CSS 3, and Bootstrap version 4.

Teaching materials are any form of tools used by teachers in the learning process that provide information to students in accordance with the applied curriculum reference. Based on interviews with teachers from three schools, including SMAN 1 Blitar, SMAN 3 Blitar, and SMAN 4 Blitar, a change from the 2013 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum was found, especially in class (X), to enhance student learning after the Covid-19 pandemic. During the learning process, teachers faced challenges in the form of varying levels of student enthusiasm. The use of printed books such as school textbooks and Student Worksheets (LKS) resulted in students being less interested in reading thick books. Based on these issues, the researcher became interested in developing an instructional material product in the form of an e-book and evaluating the feasibility of the developed product. The research subjects were Civic Education teachers and students of Class X in senior high school. Data collection techniques included product validation sheets and usage response questionnaires. The results of this study showed the development of the ELBOO AUVIS (Electronic Book Audio Visual). The material expert validation percentage was 98.4%, categorized as highly valid; the media expert validation was 85.5%, also highly valid; and the language expert validation was 90%, again highly valid. In the teacher's usage response test, the average percentage obtained was 94.5%, categorized as a very good assessment, while the student's usage response obtained an average percentage of 90.2%, also categorized as very good.

Language ENvironment Analysis (LENA) is a light weight audio capture device commonly used to monitor language including frequency of parent-child interactions for research purposes. However, various factors including price and technical limitations often limit the use of LENA for low-income families. Using a smartphone can be a feasible alternative when LENA is not available to practitioners/families. Over the past three decades, significant advancements have resulted in smartphone platforms/microphones/technology, allowing for high quality recorded audio which are available in most households. In this study we compare audio quality and measure performance of several Automatic Speech recognition (ASR) engines on audio captured from iPhone and Android relative to LENA devices. Families who consented in this study recorded reading activities with their children at home using both personal smartphones and LENA. Some challenges we found include recording synchronization, unnecessary background noises, and uneven room acoustics. Audio quality comparison is measured using Speech-Signal-to-noise ratio (SSNR) metric. Both open-source and fine-tuned ASR models are explored, with results reported using overall Word Error Rate (WER), as well as separated by speaker–Child versus Adult. Thai massage therapists see the need to improve their English, as their business is advancing towards international markets. The availability of English learning resources is, however, still very limited, especially for those with visual disabilities. This research project attempted to design an ESP syllabus and develop the content into an MP3 audio book format so that it could beneft both sighted and visually impaired learners. A needs analysis was conducted with different parties involved in the massage business, using interviews and on-site observations to create learners’profles, observe the language requirements of therapists and construct the syllabus. After a prototype audio book was created, sample groups, which included massage therapists with and without visual impairment, were asked to study the material on their own for three months. The same pre/post-tests were used to measure learners’ language improvement. A 5-point Likert scale format questionnaire was used to measure learners’ satisfaction with the product. The research offered a comparison of the results and concluded that although the audio book could enhancethe language profciency of both groups of learners, those with visual impairment showed a signifcantly greater improvement due to the higher level of motivation and learning discipline.

The study aims to develop Audio Media and Song Lyrics Collection Book as a medium of learning history that is feasible and practically used by teachers in history subjects in Senior High Schools. Type of research is research and development using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The subjects of this research trial were 34 students of class X MIPA1 and 33 students of class X MIPA2 in SMAN 3 Padang Panjang. Data collection instruments used in this study was a questionnaire consisting of media validation test questionnaire, material validation test questionnaire, practicality test questionnaire by teachers and practicality test questionnaire by students. The research data were analyzed by qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The results showed that the validity of audio media and song lyric collection books based on the validation research of the material experts obtained an average of 3.59 and 3.50 media experts with very decent criteria. The practicality results obtained by the teacher averaged 3.36 with very practical criteria, while the practicality results obtained by students averaged 3.39 with very practical criteria.
