This study highlights the sound analyses in a studio settings for a KadazanDusun bamboo musical instrument from Sabah Malaysia called the tongkungon. The tongkungon is a type of chordophone built from betung bamboo trees, which are found growing close to rivers and also known as ‘poring’ in Sabah, Malayisa. It is also a plucked idiochordal bamboo tube zither. The pratuokng is an idiochord tube zither, which is a musical instrument. The Bidayuh Biatah pratuokng bamboo sound radiators of Annah Rais in Padawan, Sarawak, Malaysia are made up of seven strings and one drum. The sound reproduction capabilities are unique and innovative. This study intends to highlight the importance of sound studies in the studio setting.
