Centrada no universo de missões cristãs contemporâneas, esta dissertação aborda o extenso, híbrido e sincrético campo da religiosidade brasileira. Com base em pesquisa etnográfica de dois grupos situados no campo do protestantismo histórico reformado, reflito no primeiro, o "ministério" Sexxxchurch, sobre discursos de estímulo a falar sobre sexo a partir da pornografia. Através dele estudo as concepções sobre gênero e sexualidade construídas em um contexto que une saberes religiosos e técnicos e os traduz em regimes de subjetivação do corpo, do desejo e do prazer. O segundo grupo, a igreja Capital Augusta, nos dará a dimensão analítica de uma religiosidade que se constitui a partir de um discurso "inclusivo". Os dois grupos inserem-se no contexto das "missões urbanas", categoria êmica que traduz demandas múltiplas de evangelização que se produzem em uma dimensão local e globalmente e que é movimentada por sujeitos jovens. Ambos os grupos apresentam, a partir de um discurso que se quer pornográfico e inclusivo, mecanismos de regulação da sexualidade cujo centro da problematização encontra-se na homossexualidade. Assim, a pesquisa apresenta um campo religioso contemporâneo que se articula através de redes de sociabilidade onde circulam missionários, pastores e fiéis, que compartilham saberes, perspectivas e práticas sociais relativas à sexualidade, que configuram religiosidades e moralidades.
Abstract : Focused on the universe of contemporary christian missions, this dissertation aims to discuss the extensive, hybrid and syncretic field of brazilian religiosity. Based on ethnographic research in two groups located in the field of reformed historical protestanism, I reflect on the first, the "ministry" Sexxxchurch, on stimulus speeches talking about sex from pornography. Through this study the conceptions of gender and sexuality constructed in a context that unites religious and technical knowledge and translates them into regimes of subjectivation of the body, desire and pleasure. The second group, the church Augusta Capital, will give us the analytical dimension of religiosity that is from a speech "inclusive". Both groups fit into the context of "urban missions," emic category that translates multiple demands of evangelization taking place on a local and global scale and is moved by young subjects. Both groups have, from a discourse that both pornographic and inclusive mechanisms of regulation of sexuality whose center lies in questioning homosexuality. Thus, the research presents a contemporary religious field that is articulated through social networks where they circulate missionaries, pastors and faithful, who share knowledge, perspectives and social practices related to sexuality, that shape religiosity and morality.

Este trabalho compreende uma análise ambiental urbana, a partir de uma leitura geográfica da Vila Augusta, território localizado na Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre, mais especificamente no município de Viamão, com intuito de fornecer elementos para o planejamento territorial. A Vila Augusta é dividida em três loteamentos (Augusta Marina, Augusta Fiel e Augusta Meneguini) e se insere na bacia hidrográfica do arroio Feijó, numa área de confluência de quatro canais fluviais que drenam, a montante da Vila, importantes centros urbanos de Viamão. Comumente a Vila Augusta é afetada por inundações, as quais, progressivamente mais intensas, promovem perdas materiais, danos à saúde pública e riscos à vida da população. O caráter geográfico desta pesquisa, na estruturação da análise ambiental urbana proposta, fundamenta-se nas relações entre processos (regionais e locais) físicos e de ocupação e uso do solo. Os processos físicos enfocam a análise geológica, geomorfológica, pedológica, hidrológica e climatológica, em interface aos processos de ocupação e usos do solo, enfocando-se a análise sócio-histórica, das condições de saneamento e dos usos do solo na Vila Augusta, em distintas escalas temporais A análise ambiental urbana, neste trabalho, não se quer apreendida como um fim, mas como um meio, construída a partir da acepção dos processos em evidência de forma relacional, primando pelo conhecimento de gêneses, funções e causas ambientais em um espaço particular que, articulado a outros, imprime dinâmicas inerentes no tempo. Na Vila Augusta, destaca-se a alteração do sistema hidrológico das vertentes e dos cursos d’água. Com a intensa alteração dos processos morfodinâmicos na bacia hidrográfica do arroio Feijó, marcados pelo acréscimo dos fluxos superficiais, há um colapso na funcionalidade dos canais fluviais que drenam a Vila, com os solapamentos de margens, assoreamentos e transbordamentos dos mesmos.Visando-se atenuar os problemas decorrentes destas situações, entre outras práticas, utiliza-se do processo de dragagem dos cursos fluviais, que se torna permanente, considerando que as vertentes continuam transferindo materiais resultantes da erosão.

In 1742, the settlement of Augusta was established as an outpost of English royalization on Roatán Island, Honduras. This military camp housed a mix of English soldiers, English colonists, and local indigenous Miskitu peoples. While the settlement was occupied for only a brief span of seven years, the material record of the community provides insight into Miskitu-English interactions during the royalization process. Royalization encompassed strategies deployed by the English Crown to bring about loyalty to the state. In this dissertation, I discuss the concept of royalization from an agent-centered perspective to consider the intentions behind the occupants' usage of objects and spaces in everyday practice. This interdisciplinary research integrates documentary evidence with the results of four field seasons of archaeological investigations, which have unearthed mixed deposits of English and Miskitu material culture. I contend that such deposits indicate that Augusta's occupants were participants in the royalization process, but that these strategies were not fluid or enforced. The royalization of Augusta was complicated by a number of factors including the settlement's distance from the Crown, its local environment, and the diversity of its occupants. By considering the historical and archaeological evidence, I contend that elements of English lifestyles were integrated into Miskitu identity, and that this integration reveals some of the ways in which the process of royalization was adapted to the unique social and natural landscape of the western Caribbean.

This thesis takes its direction from the belief that the preoccupations of a period are often most helpfully discussed through the work of its so-called minor writers. Such writers also enable the critic to articulate and clarify the concerns of other writers more firmly established in the canon. At the same time, of course, the minor writer is inevitably given importance and position within the context of the period, in a fruitful two way process. This is particularly the case with the Victorian writer Augusta Webster since her use of a wide variety of literary genres helps to express the breadth of literary culture in the period. At the same time, since she is a woman and a woman writer, subject to the historical circumstances peculiar to her sex, a study of her work enables the articulation of the linked literary, social and political concerns that surround the problem of identifying how writers construct and are constructed by gender. Positioning Augusta Webster, which is what this thesis seeks to do, thus unavoidably involves a discussion of the Victorian context within which she works and, I hope, goes some way to illuminating both the writer and the context. I begin by offering a literary and biographical overview with the aim of identifying the major issues both formal and historical which she encountered as an aspiring writer and semi-public figure. I try to show that her growth as a writer was linked to her preoccupations with the 'woman question', specifically with the education, work and political situation of women. I try also to show how these issues were those of the time and how Augusta Webster's treatment of them affected contemporary responses to her work. The Introduction is followed by a chapter on Webster's novel, Lesley's Guardians. My next chapter engages with Webster's translations of Æschylus and Euripides. The central section of my thesis is devoted to Webster's most famous work, A Castaway, which notoriously provides the fallen woman, here a middle-class prostitute, with a voice. Dickens, Gaskell and Barrett Browning are also introduced in their treatment of the fallen woman. Portraits, in the next chapter and the way in which the outsider is employed as social critic is analysed. Chapter five deals with Webster's closet dramas. I begin with brief outlines of these little known works; place them among other nineteenth century dramas and note that they were generally well reviewed. The sixth chapter takes Webster's writing life towards its conclusion with a discussion of her fantasy for girls. Daffodil and the Croäxaxicans. This story of the adventures of a young girl in a frog kingdom is situated within the genre of Victorian writing for children. I conclude with some speculation about the reputation of Augusta Webster. Beginning with Theodore Watts-Dunton's prediction that Webster would, like many others, probably be forgotten after her death, I suggest that although the factors that shape the subsequent reputation of a writer are extremely complex, some possibilities may be put forward to explain why Webster is only now becoming known again.

This study has presented a thorough investigation of the integrity and the significance of the Augusta National Golf Club Course from 1934 to the present. The golf course still reflects the design philosophy of Alistair Mackenzie. Design features that have been retained provide this evidence. The hillocks and hollows in the golf course were identified to show Mackenzie's influence in the golf course of today. Changes have been made to Mackenzie's original design. Some changes caused great strategic and aesthetic differences in the golf course. Other changes were necessary due to the spectator and the demands of providing optimum on-site viewing of the Masters Tournament held anually at the Augusta National Golf Club Course. The modifications to the course were responses to the evolving game of golf as played in 1934 as compared to 1996. The significance of the golf course with respect to its Master Designer, Alistair Mackenzie, was shown to be sufficient to warrant the augmentation of its National Register status. Treatment of the landscape is suggested based on the criteria set forth in the study.Department of Landscape Architecture

Este trabalho examina as transformações e usos urbanos na 6 7 Rua Augusta, em São Paulo, entre 1891 e 2012. Percebe-se que ao longo deste período a Rua Augusta, sobretudo na vertente que a comunica ao centro histórico da cidade, teve grande importância social e urbana, polarizando e respondendo a processos de urbanização que a cidade de São Paulo como um todo enfrentava. Seu papel e suas características, no entanto, variaram historicamente de acordo com as diferentes formas de apropriação por parte dos mais variados grupos sociais. A rua não só foi apropriada física e funcionalmente por esses grupos, mas também simbolicamente, tornando-se ao mesmo tempo um espaço e um emblema de determinados interesses econômicos, usos sociais e culturais, modos de consumo, identidades coletivas e estilos de vida nos distintos momentos estudados. A apropriação da rua por atividades de lazer é um aspecto privilegiado na dissertação, sobretudo em função do estabelecimento recente de uma importante mancha de vida noturna juvenil na cidade, que, desde a década de 1990, e sobretudo os anos 2000, vem catalizando um ciclo bastante representativo de investimentos, atividades, dinâmicas e significados.this thesis examines the transformations and urban ocupations 8 9 of Augusta Street between 1891 and 2012. It is noticed that throughout this period of time, Augusta Street has had great social and urban relevance, polarizing and responding to processes of urbanization that the city of Sao Paulo was facing as whole, but especially regarding it\'s historic center. the street\'s role and characteristics however varied historically according to the diff erent forms of apropriation from diff erent social groups. the street was not only apropriated physically and functionally by these groups, but also symbolically, becoming at the same time a space and an emblem of determined economical interests, social and cultural uses, ways of consumption, colective identities and life styles, during diff erent moments covered in this study. the apropriation of this street by leisure activities is one aspect privileged in this work, especially because of a recent establishment of a young nocturnal life in the area, that since the 90\'s and more consistenly in the 2000\'s has been catalizing a cicle that is very representative of investments, activities, dinamics and meanings. this work has newspaper copies as the main research source, from which a line of thought was constructed, allowing a better understanding of this apropriation and the opinions about Augusta Street and to relate it to bigger social and urban issues.

Para isto, serão analisados excertos das fontes primárias, especialmente Tácito e Suetônio, nos quais podemos identificar a relevância destas mulheres dentro da família imperial e na sociedade romana.This research aims to make explicit the influence of Livia and Agrippina Minor, an influence very often absolutely political, in the period from 38 BC to 59 AD; emphasizing in this process the use of women in the creation of the domus Augusta and in the propaganda of Augustus and other emperors of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. For this, excerpts from primary sources will be analyzed, particularly Tacitus and Suetonius, in which we identify the relevance of these women within the Imperial family and in Roman society.

Sendo o estudo dos topônimos recurso para a compreensão de traços da língua e do homem denominador, o presente estudo foi concebido para oferecer contribuições relativas aos aspectos do meio físico e cultural em que esses nomes foram gerados, integrando-se ao Projeto Atlas Toponímico de Portugal (ATPor). Deste modo, este trabalho tem por objetivo verificar características semânticas de topônimos do concelho de Braga, Portugal, recuperando motivações transparentes e opacas que envolvem tais denominações, bem como analisar estruturalmente os nomes de lugar do mencionado concelho. Com base em trabalhos de Dick sobre teoria e análise científica de topônimos em suas variedades semânticas no Brasil (iniciados em 1980) e na aplicação destes conceitos por Carvalhinhos na toponímia de Portugal (a partir de 1998), reunimos apontamentos históricos e linguísticos referentes a questões particulares da Toponímia e, por extensão, da Onomástica como ciência dos nomes para determinarmos o perfil da motivação de nomes de lugares do concelho. O estabelecimento do corpus e a metodologia de trabalho pautaram-se em parâmetros de confecção de Atlas toponímicos, possibilitando sistematizar e quantificar dados para a descrição da toponímia local. Entre os quatrocentos e quarenta e três topônimos analisados, quatrocentos e dezenove foram classificados em taxionomias toponímicas, apontando um padrão motivador da dinâmica de denominação de entidades geográficas do concelho de Braga. A recuperação toponímica permitiu notar nomes relacionados ao período pré-romano e, sobremaneira, à época medieval, evidenciando aspectos do contexto físico e temas sociais que se referem aos séculos V a XII. De um lado, muitos nomes de lugares que procedem da natureza física refletem a geomorfologia, a vegetação e a constituição mineral do solo. De outra parte, modos medievais de demarcar propriedade, evidenciar os fatos sociais e a constituição de aglomerados humanos atuam na origem antropocultural da maioria dos topônimos do levantamento analisado. Nesse quadro, identificamos arcaísmos, revelando a manutenção de denominações no local.Because the study of toponyms is a resource for understanding the linguistic traits and also the man who gave the name, this study was conceived to make contributions related to the aspects of the physical and cultural means in which these names were created, becoming part of the Portugal Toponymic Atlas (Projeto Atlas Toponímico de Portugal ATPor). Thus, this dissertation aims to verify which semantic feature are present at toponyms of the municipality of Braga, Portugal, recovering transparent and opaque motivations involving such denominations as well as analyzing structurally the place names in the aforementioned municipality. Based on Dick\'s work on the scientific theory and analysis of toponyms in their semantic variants in Brazil (begun in 1980) and on the application of these concepts by Carvalhinhos to toponyms in Portugal (starting in 1998), we gathered historical and linguistic records regarding particular issues in Toponymy and, by extension, Onomastics as the science of names, in order to determine the motivational profile of place names in Braga. The constitution of the corpus and the methodology were based on toponymic Atlas\' production parameters, making it possible to systematize and quantify data to describe the local toponymy. Among the four-hundred and fortythree toponyms analyzed, four-hundred and nineteen were classified in toponymic taxonomies, indicating a motivational pattern for the dynamic of naming geographic entities in Braga municipality. Toponymic retrieval allowed to find out names related to the pre-Roman period and, especially, medieval times to be found, providing evidence of aspects of the physical context and social themes that regard the V to XII centuries. On the one hand, many place names originating from a place\'s physical nature reflect the geomorphology, vegetation and mineral makeup of the soil. On the other, medieval manners of demarcating property, displaying social facts and constituting human settlements are active in the anthropo-cultural origin of the majority of the surveyed toponyms analyzed. In this situation, we identified archaisms, showing continuing use of denominations at the location.

This thesis provides a fresh investigation of a collection of Roman imperial biographies conventionally known as the 'Historia Augusta'. The thesis supports the authenticity of the texts included in this corpus, in particular the claims they make about their dates, authorship, and scope, through philological, literary, prosopographical, and historical arguments. It shows that this corpus of texts, if the main conclusions are accepted, potentially improves our understanding of the tetrarchic-Constantinian era. It also explores the wider implications for the historiography of the fourth century; the transmission and formation of multi-author corpora in antiquity and the middle ages. It also suggests that the canon of Latin imperial biographies be widened. The thesis has two parts. Part I explores the actual state of the corpus, its textual transmission, and relation to other texts. It shows that the ancient and medieval paratexts presented the corpus as a collection of imperial biographies. The paratexts are compatible with the authorial statements in the main text. It then explores the corpus' medieval transmission, and the interest medieval scholars had in such texts. This part suggests that the corpus’s current state explains well the inconsistencies found in it. Finally, it shows that words and phrases, once thought peculiar to the corpus and the holy grail of the forgery argument, are intertextual links to earlier texts. Part II explores chronological statements and historical episodes relevant to the Diocletianic-Constantinan period. It establishes the actual dates of each author, and suggests that the confusion found in these biographies is similar to that of other contemporaries. The few apostrophes are shown to be authentic, and the historical and prosopographical passages are shown to represent, and improve our understanding of, the zeitgeist and history of the period. The final conclusion weaves the various arguments together, and emphasises the authenticity and significance of the corpus' texts. It suggests separating the composition of the texts from the disinterested formation of the corpus as a whole, as part of a new hypothesis and further lines of enquiry.

Las plantas silvestres de México son una fuente de riqueza genética de incalculable valor, por su importancia son considerados estratégicos en el país. Sin embargo, un sector de la población no ha tomando en cuenta la conservación de los ecosistemas como una medida urgente para preservar el patrimonio natural de nuestro país, en consecuencia disminuye la biodiversidad y se afectan los ecosistemas, dentro de este marco y teniendo en cuenta la riqueza del género Tigridia, se puede afirmar que México cuenta con el mayor número de especies (40), dentro de ellas, la mayoría de los estudios se han realizado para reportar nuevas especies e investigaciones sobre florística. En el caso de T. augusta y otras especies sólo se han llevado a cabo recorridos de vegetación, aportando con ello su distribución general. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo conocer más en detalle la distribución de T. augusta en los 18 municipios del valle de Toluca, así mismo como especies relacionadas y características de las poblaciones encontradas, complementándose con observaciones de campo, tipos de vegetación y tipos de suelo donde se desarrolla.
El trabajo se realizó en los 18 municipios del valle de Toluca 1) Almoloya de Juárez, 2) Almoloya del Río 3) Calimaya, 4) Chapultepec, 5) Ixtlahuaca, 6) Jiqupilco, 7) Jocotitlan, 8) Lerma 9) Metepec 10) Mexicalzingo, 11) Otzoltepec,12) Santa María Rayón, 13) San Mateo Atenco, 14) Temoaya 15) Tenango del Valle, 16) Toluca, 17) Xonacatlan y 18) Zinacantepec de Junio a Septiembre del 2013 y 2014, siguiendo rutas de muestreo de las poblaciones consideradas.
De acuerdos a los objetivos planteados, las aportaciones del presente estudio son: a) Ahora se conoce que la distribución de T. augusta es más amplia en el Valle de Toluca, pasando de 13 poblaciones de la especie en 6 municipio a 27 poblaciones en 7 municipios siendo Temoaya el municipio con mayor número de poblaciones (14), b) La distribución de la especie es eminentemente ruderal y en manchones o a lado de zanjas, c) T. augusta se asocia a géneros de las familias Asteraceae,

Amaryllidaceae, Apiaceae, Calocorthaceae, Fagaceae, Iridaceae, Myrtaceae, poaceae y Scrophulariaceae, d) La presencia de la especie en estudio se asocia a suelos con 26.8% arcilla, contrastando con suelos sin T. augusta con 14% arcilla, sugiriendo que los suelos pesados es una estrategia para evitar que los bulbos sean devorados por depredadores.

Previous issue date: 2012-05-29This study shows how the fishermen of Regency Augusta, district of Linhares-ES, ressignificam fishing and social practices in its work towards large-scale Projects (PGE s) deployed both the rio Doce and maritime space. Want to be investigated from the look of the fishermen as the process of transformation in practice against fishing impacts caused by these investments. The survey was carried out in the community, participating through qualitative methodology, in order to understand the dynamics of artisanal fishermen, their beliefs, Regencia Augusta, values, attitudes and habits. The analysis is based on two directions. On the one hand, the villagers reports and official environmental reports. On the other hand, the description of two meetings of the compensation plan of the Fishing Activity of 4 d Seismic Survey (PCAP), from the view of fishermen. The observation and analysis lead us to the following results: the modification of fishing areas held predominantly in rio to before the sea; insertion of new fishing methods; emergence of new occupations and forms of employment; restriction of fishing area because of seismic surveys carried out in the region for an oil company; conflicts among fishermen
Este estudo mostra como os pescadores artesanais de Regência Augusta, distrito de Linhares ES, ressignificam seus trabalhos pesqueiros e práticas sociais perante Projetos de Grande Escala (PGEs) implantados tanto o rio Doce quanto no espaço marítimo. Pretende-se investigar a partir do olhar dos pescadores como ocorre o processo de transformação na prática pesqueira frente aos impactos ocasionados por esses investimentos. A pesquisa participante foi realizada na comunidade, por meio de metodologia qualitativa, no intuito de compreender a dinâmica dos pescadores artesanais de Regência Augusta, suas crenças, valores, atitudes e hábitos. A análise baseia-se em duas direções. Por um lado, relatos dos moradores e relatórios ambientais oficiais. Por outro, a descrição de duas reuniões do Plano de Compensação da Atividade Pesqueira da Pesquisa Sísmica Marítima 4D (PCAP), a partir da visão dos pescadores. A observação e análise nos levam aos seguintes resultados: a alteração das áreas de pesca antes realizada predominantemente no rio para o mar; inserção de novas modalidades pesqueiras; surgimento de novas ocupações e formas de trabalho; restrição da área de pesca devido pesquisas sísmicas realizadas na região por uma empresa do setor petrolífero; conflitos entre pescadores

Obiettivo del lavoro di tesi è l’analisi della vulnerabilità delle strutture della città di Augusta, che è una delle aree campione scelte dal progetto europeo ASTARTE, riguardante fra l’altro la stima e la mitigazione del rischio da tsunami nei mari europei.
Per prima cosa sono state ricercate le strutture tettoniche che possono dare origine a terremoti di grande magnitudo, e che possono causare in seguito devastanti tsunami, nella zona della Sicilia orientale. La Scarpata Maltese è risultata essere la caratteristica morfologica dominante in questa zona del Mediterraneo.
Per l’analisi di vulnerabilità sono state utilizzate due diverse metodologie: il modello SCHEMA (SCenarios for Hazard-induced Emergencies MAnagement) e il modello PTVA-3 (Papathoma Tsunami Vulnerability Assessment). Il metodo SCHEMA, di tipo quantitativo, è un metodo più semplice in quanto si avvale della fotointerpretazione per assegnare ad una costruzione la classe di appartenenza in base alla sua tipologia. Poi, attraverso le matrici del danno, si assegna un livello di danno (da D0, nessun danno, a D5, collasso) in base all’altezza della colonna d’acqua. Il metodo PTVA-3, di tipo qualitativo, risulta invece essere più complicato. Infatti, per arrivare all’assegnazione dell’indice di vulnerabilità relativa (RVI), che fornisce una stima del danno subito da una data struttura, si ha bisogno di assegnare un certo numero di attributi. L’indice RVI è dato dalla somma pesata tra la vulnerabilità strutturale e la vulnerabilità dovuta all’intrusione d’acqua (percentuale di piani inondati).
In conclusione si è fatto un confronto tra i due metodi, ottenendo una sovrastima del metodo PTVA-3 rispetto al metodo SCHEMA nella quantificazione del livello di danneggiamento degli edifici.

This research evidences the representation of the woman, focusing on the themes of body, eroticism and female sexuality in the short stories: "A Gaiola", "A Ceia de Aninha" and "As Sereias" in the book A Friagem (1998) and the short stories “O Homem de Ouro Puro”,"Os pecados de Rosário "and "Gertrudes e seu Homem ", in the book “Boca Benta de Paixão (2007), by Augusta Faro Fleury de Melo, known as Augusta Faro. Considering the outline of the protagonists, it was intended to unveil how fictional women react to the oppression arising from the stigma of tradition imposed by patriarchal society. It was also intended to examine the core of this universe, seeking to understand, through questioning, the attitudes of the characters in relation to their bodies, their sexuality and eroticism. Because it is a theoretical, descriptive and analytical study, the methodology used was the literature review. To enrich this work, an interview with the author mentioned above was carried out. This work initially presents a brief contextualization of the feminist movement in Brazil and in the state of Goiás in order to, through this view, approach the feminine authorship and the intercrossing with the Gender Studies. Next, it deals specifically with the female body and the symbolic violence, which sometimes, in an aggressive and imperceptible way, imprints scars on the body and soul of these women, and finally reflects on how eroticism and female sexuality are discussed and investigated in the fiction of the mentioned author. To carry out this work, some theorical authors were consulted as Ria Lemaire (1994), Judith Butler (2003), Constância Lima Duarte 1994), besides of Michel Foucault (2015), Elisabeth Grosz (2000), Elodia Xavier (2007), Octavio Paz (2007) and Georges Bataille (1987), among others. In the conclusion of what was analyzed, it was found that women writers still find obstacles to publicize their works efficiently and that the female representation, from the perspective of a woman, it is one of the starting point necessary to provoke the profound cultural change that society needs in order to have, among people, a coexistence constituted in mutual respect and stripped of any prejudices. In the short stories, the protagonists can be grouped into two categories according to the criteria submission / transgression. There are those that are able to impose themselves before the other, namely the masculine and the patriarchal society, and those that bow before the sexist rules, losing physical and mental health.
Esta pesquisa evidencia a representação da mulher, enfocando os temas corpo, erotismo e sexualidade feminina nos contos “A Gaiola”, “A ceia de Aninha” e “As Sereias” do livro A Friagem (1998) e os contos “O Homem de Ouro Puro”, “Os pecados de Rosário” e “Gertrudes e seu Homem”, de Boca Benta de Paixão (2007), da escritora goiana Augusta Faro Fleury de Melo, conhecida como Augusta Faro. Considerando o delineamento das protagonistas, pretendeu-se desvendar como as mulheres ficcionais reagem diante da opressão advinda do estigma da tradição imposto pela sociedade patriarcal. Tencionou-se, ainda, perscrutar o cerne desse universo, buscando entender, através de questionamentos, as atitudes das personagens em relação a seus corpos, a sua sexualidade e ao erotismo. Por se tratar de um estudo de natureza teórica, descritiva e analítica, a metodologia utilizada foi a revisão de literatura. Para enriquecimento deste trabalho, realizou-se uma entrevista com a autora supramencionada. Este trabalho apresenta inicialmente uma breve contextualização do movimento feminista no Brasil e no estado de Goiás a fim de, por este viés, abordar a autoria feminina e o entrecruzamento com os Estudos de Gênero. Em seguida, trata especificamente do corpo feminino e da violência simbólica que, por vezes, de forma agressiva e imperceptível, imprimem cicatrizes no corpo e na alma dessas mulheres, para finalmente, refletir sobre como o erotismo e a sexualidade feminina são discutidos e investigados na ficção da autora estudada. Para urdidura deste trabalho foram consultadas teóricas como Ria Lemaire (1994), Judith Butler (2003), Constância Lima Duarte (2003), além de Michel Foucault (2015), Elisabeth Grosz (2000), Elódia Xavier (2007), Octávio Paz (1994), Georges Bataille (1987), dentre outros. Face ao analisado, constatou-se que as escritoras ainda encontram óbices para divulgarem suas obras de forma eficiente e que a representação feminina, sob a perspectiva de uma mulher, constitui-se uma das alavancas necessárias para suscitar a profunda mudança cultural de que a sociedade necessita a fim de haja, entre as pessoas, uma convivência constituída no respeito mútuo e despojada de quaisquer preconceitos. Nos contos, as protagonistas podem ser agrupadas em duas categorias segundo o critério submissão/ transgressão. Existem aquelas que conseguem se impor perante o outro, a saber, ao masculino e a sociedade patriarcal, e aquelas que se curvam diante das regras sexistas, perdendo a saúde física e mental.

This paper discusses the construction of the memory of women who fought against the military dictatorship of 1964, having as a conductor axis the memory of Mary Augusta Thomas, who was a philosophy student at PUC-SP and MOLIPO member. She was killed in 1973 and her remains are still missing to this day. Here, I question whether the gender binaries influence or not the construction of the memory of Maria Augusta Thomaz and other women present in this research.
Este trabalho problematiza a construção da memória das mulheres que lutaram contra a Ditadura Militar de 1964, tendo como eixo condutor a memória de Maria Augusta Thomaz, que era estudante de Filosofia da PUC-SP e membra do MOLIPO. Foi executada em 1973 e seus restos mortais permanecem desaparecidos até os dias atuais. Aqui, questiono se os binarismos de gênero influenciam ou não na construção da memória de Maria Augusta Thomaz e de outras mulheres presentes nesta pesquisa.

This work aims to study two short stories by the writer Machado de Assis, taking in consideration their thematic approximation, leading one to believe that the second short story, "Uma senhora", from 1883, would be the rewrite of a previous short story, "O segredo de Augusta”, from 1868. In order to achieve this, the analysis take into consideration the leitmotiv of the vain woman and the figure of the narrator and in what way the narrator articulates the characters throughout the narrative. Thus, the author uses the theme of a previous short story, still marked by romantic characteristics and rewrite it, guaranteeing a formal improvement in the process of rewriting.
Este trabalho tem como objetivo o estudo de dois contos do escritor Machado de Assis tendo em vista sua aproximação temática, levando a crer que o segundo conto, “Uma senhora”, de 1883, seria a reescrita de “O segredo de Augusta”, conto escrito anos antes, em 1868. Para tal, as análises levam em consideração o leitmotiv da mulher vaidosa e a figura do narrador e de que maneira este articula as personagens ao longo da narrativa. Tem-se, desta maneira, que o autor aproveita o tema de um conto de juventude, ainda marcado por características românticas, para reescrevê-lo, garantindo assim um aperfeiçoamento formal no trabalho de reescrita.

L’histoire des sites légionnaires de l’Empire romain connaît aujourd’hui un important renouveau grâce aux nombreuses recherches réalisées en Europe. C’est dans ce cadre que s’insère ce travail qui explore la présence militaire romaine à Strasbourg-Argentorate, en examinant tout particulièrement le camp de la VIIIe légion selon une perspective à la fois archéologique et historique. Cette étude se fonde sur l’analyse des sources littéraires et épigraphiques, l’interprétation de la documentation publiée et sur les résultats issus de deux récentes fouilles préventives (« Grenier d’Abondance » et « 4 rue Brûlée »). Elle révèle que l’occupation romaine débutant vers 15 ap. J.-C. coïncide en fait avec l’arrivée de la legio II Augusta dont la présence est attestée par plusieurs monuments funéraires. Entre 43 ap. J.-C. et l’arrivée de la legio VIII Augusta dans les années 90 ap. J.-C., Strasbourg n’est pas un lieu de garnison légionnaire, mais pourrait plutôt être celui de troupe(s) d’auxiliaires. Le camp de la VIIIe légion est d’abord protégé par un rempart en terre et en bois, avant d’être doté d’une enceinte en pierre (IIe s. ap. J.-C.) qui sera renforcée vers 300 ap. J.-C. Les baraquements dans le latus praetorii dextrum sont occupés jusqu’à la fin du premier quart du IVe s. ap. J.-C. Avec l’installation de civils à partir du deuxième tiers du IVe s. ap. J.-C., le camp légionnaire se transforme progressivement en site urbain fortifié qui inclut une présence militaire réduite jusqu’au début du Ve s. ap. J.-C. au moins. Ce travail permet de mieux connaître l’aspect du camp de la VIIIe légion et de réviser la chronologie de la présence militaire romaine de ce site rhénan majeurThe history of legionary sites in the Roman Empire is undergoing a significant revival today thanks to numerous research projects being conducted in Europe. Within this context, the present study explores the Roman military presence in Strasbourg - Argentorate, and more particularly the 8th Legion’s camp, from an archaeological and historical viewpoint. This study is based on the analysis of literary and epigraphic sources, on the interpretation of published documentation and on the results of two recent rescue excavations (“Grenier d’Abondance” and “4 rue Brûlée”). It shows that the Roman occupation, beginning around 15 AD, coincides with the arrival of the legio II Augusta whose presence is attested by several funerary monuments. Between 43 AD and the settlement of the legio VIII Augusta around 90 AD, Strasbourg was not a legionary garrison, but mostly one of auxiliary troops. In its early form, the camp of the 8th Legion was protected by an earth rampart with layers of timber before being superimposed with the first stone defensive circuit around the mid-2nd century AD; that wall was reinforced around 300 AD. The barracks in the latus praetorii dextrum remained occupied until the end of the first quarter of 4th century AD. With the settlement of civilians from the second third of 4th century AD, the legionary camp gradually turned into an urban fortified site with a limited military presence, at least until the beginning of 5th century AD. This study provides detailed insight into aspects of the 8th Legion’s camp and reviews the chronology of the Roman military presence of this major Rhineland site

During the intervening years it encompassed most of Virginia's claims to land west of the Blue Ridge Mountains.;As drawn by Virginians, the borders of Augusta County simultaneously encompassed two types of frontiers: a frontier of settlement on which white immigrants created a new society, and a frontier of culture in which those settlers interacted with a variety of Indians. This study examines both types of frontier experiences.;On the settlement frontier, white immigrants rapidly created a deferential and hierarchical society identical in its major features to contemporary counties throughout colonial Virginia. The aspects of white society examined by this dissertation include landholding, control of labor, religious diversity, and resistance to magisterial authority.;In the cultural frontier, Indian-white relations included routinely peaceful contacts as well as occasional violent outbursts. Cherokees responded to white expansion primarily with diplomacy and accommodation, while the tribes of the upper Ohio River Valley chose more militant resistance.;For contemporary whites and Indians, the complex frontier that was colonial Augusta County seemed at times to offer great rewards. Red or white, individual successes in realizing those rewards varied widely, depending partly on chance and larger historical events beyond local control. One constant continually influenced both destinies--the form and function of white society. That society, simultaneously conservative and dynamic, supported the expansion of colonial Virginia into the North American interior.

This objective work analyzes the construction of the grotesque under the female characters by the bias of the fantastic in the short stories “The Tiger's Bride”, “The Snow Child” and “The Werewolf” from the book The Bloody Chamber (1979) and the short stories “As flores”, “As sereias” and “A gaivota”, by A Friagem (1999) by the writer Augusta Faro. The grotesque revealed itself as an agent for the female characters to enter into a metamorphic process not only on a physical level, but also in the re-signification of language itself, becoming the means for them to question and transgress repressive marks and rules that have long been institutionalized. To reinforce in the analysis we pointed out some aspects: Metamorphosis / The Wild Side, Body Transgressor / Sexuality and Language. We observe how these elements characterized in the grotesque character of the personages and jointly in the communication between the narratives of Angela Carter and Augusta Faro. In order to look at this woman and grotesque relationship, and consecutively at the points of contact that approach the narratives of both writers, the nature of this study is adequate for the theoretical, descriptive, analytical and comparative revision.
Este trabalho objetiva analisar a construção do grotesco sob as personagens femininas pelo viés do fantástico nos contos “A Noiva do Tigre”, “A Garota da Neve” e “ O lobisomem” da escritora Angela Carter que estão no livro O quarto do Barba Azul (1979) e os contos “As Flores”, “As Sereias” e a “A Gaivota”, de A Friagem (1999) da escritora Augusta Faro. O grotesco revelou-se como um agente para que as personagens femininas adentrassem em um processo metamórfico não só a nível físico, mas também na ressignificação da própria linguagem, tornando-se o meio para elas questionarem e transgredirem marcas de repressão e regras que ficaram institucionalizadas há muito tempo. Para reforçar na análise apontamos alguns aspectos: Metamorfose/O Lado Selvagem, Corpo Transgressor/Sexualidade e a Linguagem. Observamos como esses elementos caracterizaram no caráter grotesco das personagens e conjuntamente na comunicação entre as narrativas de Angela Carter e Augusta Faro. Para se atentar nesta relação mulher e grotesco, e consecutivamente nos pontos de contato que aproximam as narrativas de ambas escritoras, a natureza desse estudo se adequa pela revisão teórica, descritiva, analítica e comparativa.

A imagem do homem cosmopolita vem, ao longo das décadas, sofrendo alterações estéticas que, ao serem reformuladas, mudam sua representatividade, expressão e interação com o meio urbano, reflexos de valores e comportamentos contemporâneos globalizados e midiatizados. O presente trabalho busca compreender essa vestimenta e a imagem reconfigurada do homem cosmopolita, sendo aprofundadas no conhecimento do campo de pesquisa, que neste caso é a rua Augusta, em São Paulo-SP. É possível compreender através da antropologia visual e da comunicação urbana as características desse ambiente que propicia novas expressões. A cidade cosmopolita configura-se em conceitos como policulturalidade, politeísmo, sincretismo, poliglotismo, polissemia, polifonia, policromia, polimorfismo, hibridismo e pluralidade. A pós-modernidade é expressa e materializada nesses espaços urbanos através de sua mutabilidade. É nesse ambiente frívolo e regido pela volatilidade que a liquidez do tempo dissolve todas as referências estéticas e conceituais, firmando imagens e imaginários híbridos nos quais as expressões artísticas e de vestuário acompanham o modus vivendi dessa sociedade. Entra em cena a desconstrução do estereótipo moderno e apolíneo, que dá lugar à estética dionisíaca masculina ? conflituosa, matizada, irreverente, vaidosa e plural. Esse espaço comporta a diversidade e a multiplicidade de referências, a pluralidade de arquétipos. A etnografia foi necessária para confirmar esses conceitos e pressupostos, além de presenciar sua existência no corpo social. Foi identificado um público masculino entre 21 e 29 anos, profissionais de moda, estética, música e artes, adeptos da vida urbana de São Paulo, pertencentes à classe média, que transitam, trabalham ou moram na rua Augusta, em São Paulo-SP. Em sua maneira de vestir, foram identificados alguns conceitos como: a liberdade do traje e de expressão na megalópole; diálogos e (re)produções estéticas midiáticas; a simbiose e o hibridismo de estilos e de gêneros de vestuário; a pluralidade e a matização de estilos; a customização das peças de vestuário que conferem identidade e unicidade no vestir. Esses conceitos todos são resultado da permissividade que a Augusta e que o cosmopolitismo proporcionam aos seus habitantes.Throughout the decades, the image of the cosmopolitan man has been suffering some aesthetic alterations. These alterations, when reformulated, change the man's representation, expression, and interaction with the urban environment, reflecting some contemporary global and media values and behaviors. The present work aims to understand the vestment and the reconfigured image of the cosmopolitan man, with a profound study on the research field, which is, in this case, Augusta Street, in São Paulo-SP. Through visual anthropology and urban communication, it is possible to understand the characteristics of this environment, which enables new expressions. The cosmopolitan city configures itself in concepts such as polyculturality, polytheism, syncretism, polyglottism, polysemy, polyphony, polychromy, polymorphism, hybridity, and plurality. Postmodernity is expressed and materialized in these urban spaces through its mutability. In this frivolous and volatile environment, the liquidity of time dissolves all of the aesthetic and conceptual references, setting hybrid images and imaginaries in which artistic and vestment expressions follow the modus vivendi of this society. The deconstruction of the modern and Apollonian stereotype comes into play, giving place to the male Dionysiac aesthetic - conflicting, variegated, irreverent, vain, and plural. Such space holds the diversity and multiplicity of references, the plurality of archetypes. Ethnography was necessary to confirm such concepts and presuppositions, other than to observe their existence in the social body. It was identified a male public between 21 and 29 years old, professionals of fashion, aesthetic, music, and arts, adepts of the urban life of São Paulo, pertaining to the middle class, who transit, work, or live on Augusta Street, in São Paulo-SP. Some concepts have been identified in their dressing way, such as: the freedom of suit and expression in the megalopolis; media dialogues and aesthetic (re)productions; the symbiosis and hybridity of clothes styles and genres; the plurality and the variegation of styles; the garments customization, which propitiates identity and unicity in dressing. All of those concepts are results of the permissiveness that Augusta Street and the cosmopolitanism provides to its inhabitants.

Previous issue date: 2015This study analyzes the trajectory of expansion of Western Greco-Roman colonization along the Mediterranean, until reaching Iberian Peninsula. Therefore, it verified political-strategic importance and wealth of resources Hispania territory used to offer, attracting Mediterranean colonizers who founded several colonial towns in order to settle at the peninsular territory. Through the phenomenon of colonization, trades and inter-ethnic contacts, Greco-Roman colonial towns have achieved great success and led Iberian Peninsula to a long process of cultural influences by both Hellenism and Romanization, culminating, thus, in Greek-Roman culture spreading in Hispania. Ancient colonial towns have registered Greco-Roman influences that has remained expressed via urbanism and architecture, legated to posterity mainly by its ruins of monuments and buildings found in situ. Process of Romanization was highlighted in this study based on analysis of archaeological, architectural and urban vestiges evidence of the capital of Province of Hispana Ulterior of Lusitania – the Roman colonial town of Emerita Augusta – during the High Roman Empire period. Characteristics that used to comprise a Roman colonial town can show how magnificent and influent this provincial town was then, besides revealing the importance of that culture in antiquity and their influence to the present.
Esse estudo analisa a trajetória da expansão da colonização greco-romana ocidental pelo Mediterrâneo, até chegar à Península Ibérica. Para tanto, verificou-se a importância política-estratégica e riqueza de fonte recursal que o território hispano oferecia, atraindo colonizadores mediterrâneos que se utilizaram da fundação de diversas cidades coloniais para se estabelecerem pelo território peninsular. Através deste fenômeno colonizador, das trocas comerciais e dos contatos interétnicos, as cidades coloniais greco-romanas alcançaram grande êxito e implicaram que a Península Ibérica sofresse um longo processo de influências culturais tanto do helenismo como da romanização, culminando portanto, na difusão da cultura grecoromana pela Hispânia. As antigas cidades coloniais registraram as influências grecoromanas que permaneceram expressas via urbanismo e arquitetura, legados à posteridade, principalmente, através de suas ruínas de monumentos e edifícios encontrados in situ. O processo de romanização foi destacado neste estudo a partir da análise de evidências de vestígios arqueológicos, arquitetônicos e urbanos da capital da Província Hispana Ulterior da Lusitânia, a cidade colonial romana de Emerita Augusta, em período do Alto Império Romano. Tais características que compunham uma cidade colonial romana podem apontar a magnificência e influência de uma cidade provincial em seu tempo, além de revelar a importância desta cultura na Antiguidade e também seus reflexos em período atual.

Essa dissertação se propõe a analisar os grupos ativistas, buscando entender de que maneira tem se dado sua atuação nos espaços públicos da cidade de São Paulo e como o poder público vem se articulando com esses novos atores sociais. Para isso, a pesquisa trata do surgimento e do desenvolvimento desses grupos, além de analisar as atuações de dois grupos ativistas: o coletivo Ocupe & Abrace, que luta pela preservação da Praça da Nascente, e o Organismo Parque Augusta, que reivindica a consolidação do Parque Augusta. Assim, o trabalho pretende trazer reflexões sobre o movimento ativista urbano e como ele pode contribuir para o debate sobre as cidades contemporâneas. Palavras-This dissertation offers an analysis on activist groups and seeks to understand how they act in public spaces of the city of São Paulo and how the authorities are engaging with these new social actors. For this, the research traces the emergence and development of these groups and analyzes two current activist groups: the \"Ocupe & Abrace\" (occupy and embrace), who fights for the preservation of the Nascente Square, and the \"Organismo Parque Augusta\" (Park Augusta Organism), who defends the full recognition of the Augusta Park. The sticker is a form of visual expression in the urban environment that takes advantage of productive an conceptive teniques widely used in the mass media with the goal of creating a dialog with the inhabitants of the city of São Paulo. In addition to this dialog, its representatives also search for an interaction with the urban environment, also creating works with aesthetic value. This dissertation has the purpose to entrer the sticker universe, and to open a debate about its role in the São Paulo street art, using as a research field, the Augusta Street, the Paulista Avenue and its surroundings.
O sticker é uma forma de expressão visual no meio urbano que tira proveito de conceitos e técnicas produtivas amplamente utilizadas nos meios de comunicação de massa a fim de criar um diálogo com os habitantes da cidade de São Paulo. Além desse diálogo, seus representantes buscam uma interação com o ambiente urbano, criando também trabalhos de valor estético. Essa dissertação tem por objetivo adentrar o universo do sticker e procurar abrir um debate sobre seu real papel da na arte de rua em São Paulo, usando como campo de pesquisa, a Rua Augusta, a Avenida Paulista e suas cercanias.

The focus of our analysis is on feminine authorship, issues related on women and specific procedures that put closer the Fantastic texts and the feminist theories. After discuss the main concepts of fantastic genre, the research points out the way that androcentric texts has had spread a prejudice image of women in Fantastic Literature and, through a corpus analysis, in what ways the feminine authorship supernatural texts gradually goes again to that way, arguing concepts for the deconstruction of negative stereotype of feminine in Fantastic Literature. Culminating in the analysis of short-stories by three Brazilian writers A casa dos mortos, by Júlia Lopes de Almeida; Emanuel, by Lygia Fagundes Telles and Gertrudes e seu homem, by Augusta Faro Fleury , identified its compositional procedures, topics and characteristics of feminine authorship in the Fantastic Literature, we indeed postulate the existence of a Fantastic Feminine whose purpose is to bring back the value of feminine figure in supernatural Literature in order to redefine its place and, as consequence, to provide more visibility to women writers in the Brazilian fantastic canon.
O nosso objeto de análise apresenta autoria feminina, temas ligados à mulher e procedimentos específicos que aproximam o texto fantástico das teorias feministas. A pesquisa evidencia de que forma o texto fantástico androcêntrico tem veiculado uma imagem preconceituosa da mulher na literatura fantástica, e de que maneira, por meio do corpus em tela, o texto sobrenatural de autoria feminina contrapõe-se a essa postura, relativizando conceitos para a desconstrução dos estereótipos negativos do feminino no âmbito da literatura fantástica. Culminando com a análise dos contos de três autoras brasileiras (A casa dos mortos, de Júlia Lopes de Almeida; Emanuel, de Lygia Fagundes Telles e Gertrudes e seu homem, de Augusta Faro Fleury), depois de identificados os procedimentos que os compõem, os temas e as características da autoria feminina na literatura fantástica, postulamos que existe, de fato, um Fantástico Feminino que serve para resgatar a importância da mulher na literatura de cunho sobrenatural, para redefinir esse espaço, e, consequentemente, para dar maior visibilidade às mulheres escritoras no cânone do fantástico brasileiro.
