Introduction: Vitamin D is significantly associated with virus replication in chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. However, the relationship between low serum vitamin D levels and HBV “a” determinant mutations remains unknown. Methodology: A total of 133 chronically HBV-infected, treatment-naive patients were randomly selected in the present study. Serum vitamin D levels were measured by using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. The HBV “a” determinant was amplified, sequenced, and analyzed by nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Abstract:
Six of the seven possible primary trisomics in Agropyron cristatum were produced. Based on morphology, arm length ratios, and C-banding patterns, they were identified as primary trisomics for chromosomes A, B, C, D, E, and G. Agropyron cristatum is one of several species constituting the crested wheatgrass complex. All species in this complex contain one basic genome (P). A study was conducted to produce and identify a primary trisomic series that will be used to map genes to individual chromosomes. A population of 157 plants were generated by crossing autotriploids (PPP) with diploid (PP) A.

Abstract:
Two surveys for the presence and type of Clostridium botulinum in fresh seafood obtained from local supermarkets, processors, a fish farm, and a state hatchery were conducted between 1984 and 1987. During the first survey, we analyzed 166 samples representing 14 types of fish and 5 other types of seafood. An overall prevalence of 21.7% was found. Thirty-three samples (19.9%) harbored C. botulinum type A, 4 (2.4%) type B, 1 (0.6%) type E, and 1 sample (0.6%) type F. The most probable number (MPN) for C. botulinum in Pacific rockfish (red snapper) and salmon ranged from 9–240 and 3–120 organisms

Actimetry has been shown to be useful for non-parametric analysis of biological activity/rest rhythms. We verified the pattern of activity and rest of 5 women from the city of Maringá/Pr during 30 days. We applied a sociocultural questionnaire (CONEP: 4,032,221). A (31), B (46), C (54), D (55), E (61) years. Total sleep time for A was between 6:00 am and 2:02 pm, with an average of 11 awakenings. For B, 5:10 am and 9:14 am, with an average of 21 awakenings. Defibrotide (DEF) is a polydeoxyribonucleotide fraction from bovine lung, possessing profibrinolytic and PGI2 stimulating properties.
