Six of the seven possible primary trisomics in Agropyron cristatum were produced. Based on morphology, arm length ratios, and C-banding patterns, they were identified as primary trisomics for chromosomes A, B, C, D, E, and G. Agropyron cristatum is one of several species constituting the crested wheatgrass complex. All species in this complex contain one basic genome (P). A study was conducted to produce and identify a primary trisomic series that will be used to map genes to individual chromosomes. Two surveys for the presence and type of Clostridium botulinum in fresh seafood obtained from local supermarkets, processors, a fish farm, and a state hatchery were conducted between 1984 and 1987. During the first survey, we analyzed 166 samples representing 14 types of fish and 5 other types of seafood. An overall prevalence of 21.7% was found. Thirty-three samples (19.9%) harbored C. botulinum type A, 4 (2.4%) type B, 1 (0.6%) type E, and 1 sample (0.6%) type F. Cheeses were placed into different brine solutions (14, 18 and 24°Bé) at 5 and 10 °C for 1, 2 or 3 h. Samples from rind, outer core and inner core were analysed at 0, 7, 15 and 30 d. Infectious bursal disease (IBD) causes increased mortality and severe immunosuppression in commercial chickens. Currently, vaccination mainly used to control IBD. In this study, Group A (n = 30) received the HVT-IBD vector vaccine (Vaxxitek®) s/c and Group B (n = 30) received the immune complex vaccine (Bursa-Plex®) s/c at 1 day of age.
