Abstract:
The article presents the results of a molecular genetic study of two isolates of the Pseudorabies virus that were isolated from pigs in Ukraine. Bioinformatic analysis of the gE gene fragment of Aujeszky's disease virus (Pseudorabies virus) isolates was carried out in order to determine the phylogenetic relationships and homology of nucleotide sequences. Fragments of the Aujeszky disease virus genome corresponding to the C-terminal region of the gE gene were selected for sequencing and further analysis. As a result of the conducted studies, it was demonstrated that the nucleotide sequences of

The objective of this study was to investigate the cultural properties of Aujeszky's disease virus isolate and the optimization of the conditions of obtaining virus-containing material in the most prospective cell cultures. As a result, it was established that the study virus isolate is highly pathogenic for laboratory animals: rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats. The following continuous cell lines were sensitive to the virus isolate: MDBK, Taurus-1 and ВНК-21. CPE (cytopathogenic effect of viruses) nature was similar in different cell cultures. Abstract:
The results of assessing the immunogenicity of the Ausvak vaccine for the specific prevention of sows against Aujeszky's disease based on the results of the formation of colostral immunity in piglets are presented. This vaccination regimen has been established to be safe and highly effective for both sows and their offspring. The effectiveness of vaccination was confirmed by ELISA testing of null and post-vaccination animal sera to detect specific gE and gB antibodies and by control infection of piglets with the virulent Aujeszky's disease virus.

This report has been written to serve as a history of the U.S. Aujeszky’s Disease (Pseudorabies) Eradication Program and as a guide when future disease eradication programs are considered. The report provides an overview of the program and its history and is generally nontechnical, with specific sections written by subject matter experts. The information was compiled during 2007, three years after the last four States qualified for Stage V (Free) Status. This eradication effort was formally initiated in 1989. The contents of this report include a variety of information that represents the view
