This chapter describes how the author formed a group, Friends of Tivoli Bays, to tend to the thousand plus acres that run from the village of Tivoli south to Bard College, bordering both the North and South Tivoli bays. They led history tours and walked with students into the bays to show them snapping turtles and beaver paddling about. Every spring, they also organized garbage cleanups on the Tivoli bays.
