Abstract:
Background. Large defects of the abdominal wall caused by incisional hernia still represent a challenging problem in plastic, reconstructive, and abdominal surgery. For their successful tension-free repair a proper selection of reconstructive material is essential. In the last decades, the use of synthetic meshes was dominant while biological autodermal grafts were rarely used. The aim of the study was to comparatively analyse efficacy and safety of autodermal graft and polypropylene mesh in surgical treatment of large abdominal wall defects. Methods. The purpose of the work is to analyze the results of surgical treatment of hernias using different methods of hernioplasty. The results of treatment of 176 patients with abdominal hernias, which were monitored from 1995 to 2008, were analyzed. Patients were divided into 2 groups. The first group (85 patients) included patients who underwent surgical treatment with autodermal plasty. Second group (91 patients) consisted of patients who underwent hernioplasty using mesh allografts. All patients were comprehensively examined. In obese patients, an antimicrobial film was used to glue the skin unde

An increase in the share of patients with purulent-septic processes of soft tissues in surgical hospitals was indicated by statistical and epidemiological data. Currently, it amounts to 28.5%. Over the last decade, the frequency of Fournier's gangrene has increased by 2.2–6.4. This is due to the increase in the number of patients with weakened immunity in the population. Objective. To study the features of the clinical course, diagnosis and treatment of necrotizing fasciitis with progressive tissue necrosis of the genital organs and perineum based on clinical cases. The article provides a multicenter retrospective analysis of postoperative complications in patients after ventral hernias repair. The study went on for 10 years and included 628 patients divided into 2 groups. The first group included 510 patients operated on using polypropylene implants (mesh density 60g/m2 ). In the second group (118 patients) a de-epithelized autodermal graft prepared according to the authors' technology was applied. Abstract. Analysis of available literature and our own experience, the main causes of the lysis / rejection of autoderm grafts are systematized. It is shown that there is no consensus among combustiologists about the causes of these complications. It is believed that the leading cause of such complications is the general condition of the body, the unpreparedness of wounds for surgical treatment and the development of disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome in seriously ill people. The frequency of unsatisfactory treatment results also correlates with the level of contamination of the b
