INTRODUCTION Autogenic training is a widespread technique used in psychotherapy. The British school of autogenic training cites a large list of diseases, health states, and life changes, in which autogenic training can be of help. We wanted to explore the application of autogenic training as a therapy for adjustment disorder in adolescents. The sample consisted of a homogeneous group of 31 individuals, with an average age of 17.3?0.2 years, who were diagnosed with adjustment disorder, F 43.2, in accordance with ICD 10 search criteria. OBJECTIVE The aim of our work was to figure out the influence of autogenic training on adjustment disorder, through biophysical and biochemical indicators, and to research the efficacy of autogenic training as a therapy for adjustment disorder in adolescents. METHOD We observed adjustment disorder indicators and their changes in three phases, using initial, final, and control values, which we measured immediately before the beginning, immediately after the completion, and six months after the completion, of the practical course in autogenic training. We measured systolic and diastolic arterial blood pressure, brachial pulse rates, cortisol levels in plasma, cholesterol levels in blood, as well as glucose concentrations. During that period, autogenic training was employed as the sole therapy. RESULTS The study confirmed our preliminary assumptions. The measurements we performed showed that arterial blood pressure, pulse rates, cholesterol and cortisol concentrations, after the application of autogenic training among adolescents suffering from adjustment disorder, were lower than the initial values. They remained lower even six months after the completion of the practical course in autogenic training. CONCLUSION We concluded that autogenic training significantly decreases the values of physiological indicators of adjustment disorder, diminishes the effects of stress in an individual, and eases the adaptation of adolescents to stress, helping with recovery.

The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of autogenic relaxation and music therapy to the level of pain in HD patients when insertion of vascular access. This study used Quasy experiment study with Post Control Only Control Group Design, which was conducted on 99 HD patients with total sampling. The results, using independent t test analysis, showed that there were similar pain levels in each group. There was no difference in the effectiveness of pain levels between HD patients who were given autogenic relaxation with HD patients who were given music therapy when access insertion (p value = 0.896, alpha = 0.05). The average level of pain in the music therapy group is (5.00), autogenic relaxation with an average level of pain (5.27) and the average level of pain in the group combined between autogenic relaxation and music therapy namely (5.06) . Music therapy has a low level of pain compared to autogenic relaxation because during music therapy does not require a large mental effort for the patient to remain in focus.

Abstract:
Autogenic training, a method of self-hypnosis, lowers the extent of within-day variation of systolic blood pressure assessed by the circadian double amplitude. The blood pressure and heart rate of ten patients, conventionally diagnosed as having hypertension or white-coat hypertension, were automatically monitored at 30–min. intervals for 7 days before autogenic training and again for 7 days, at 1 or 2 months after the start of autogenic training (practiced three times daily). The circadian double amplitude of systolic blood pressure of the patients investigated was 3 to 17 mm Hg lower on autogenic training. In 5 patients, reductions by 7 to 17 mm Hg were statistically significant. These results are regarded as provisional statistics, the utility of which depends on replication. By contrast, the over-all group reduction of the circadian double amplitude of systolic blood pressure by 8 mm Hg on the average can be taken at face value. Autogenic training also lowered the circadian double amplitude of diastolic blood pressure, but the effect was small as was the effect of autogenic training upon the MESOR (a rhythm-adjusted mean) and acrophase (a measure of the timing of over-all high values recurring each day). The effect of autogenic training upon the circadian double amplitude of systolic blood pressure suggests its trial as first-line treatment of patients with an excessive circadian blood pressure amplitude, a condition which, even in the absence of an elevated 24–hr. average of blood pressure, is associated with a large increase in the risk of developing ischemic stroke or nephropathy.

Abstract:
Abstract Autogenic processes are widely found in various sedimentary systems and they play an important role in the depositional evolution and corresponding sedimentary architecture. However, autogenic processes are often affected by changing allogenic factors and are difficult to be identified and analyzed from modern and ancient records. Through the flume tank experiment under constant boundary conditions, the depositional process, evolution principles, and the sedimentary architecture of a river-dominated delta was presented, and a corresponding sedimentary architecture model was constructed. The evolution of river-dominated delta controlled only by autogenic process is obviously periodic, and each autogenic cycle can be divided into an initial progradational stage, a middle retrogratational stage, and a late aggradational–progradational stage. In the initial progradational stage, one feeder channel incised into the delta plain, mouth bar(s) was formed in front of the channel mouth, and small-scale crevasse splays were formed on the delta plain. In the middle retrogradational stage, the feeder channel was blocked by the mouth bar(s) which grew out of water at the end of the initial stage, and a set of large-scale distributary splay complexes were formed on the delta plain. These distributary splay complexes were retrogradationally overlapped due to the continuous migration of the bifurcation point of the feeder channel. In the late aggradational–progradational stage, the feeder channel branched into several radial distributary channels, overlapped distributary channels were formed on the delta plain, and terminal lobe complexes were formed at the end of distributary channels. The three sedimentary layers formed in the three stages constituted an autogenic succession. The experimental delta consisted of six autogenic depositional successions. Dynamic allocation of accommodation space and the following adaptive sediments filling were the two main driving factors of the autogenic evolution of deltas.

Hypertension is one type of non-communicable disease, which is increasing every year. Hypertension is a condition where systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and / or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg. Today the treatment of a disease including hypertension has been widely modified between pharmacological therapy and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the non-pharmacological therapies currently used is autogenic relaxation. Autogenic relaxation technique is one of the relaxation techniques that comes from ourselves in the form of words or short sentences or thoughts that can make the mind calm. Autogenic relaxation is done by imagining yourself in a state of peace and calm, focusing on regulating your breath and heartbeat. This study aims to determine the effect of autogenic relaxation on anxiety levels and changes in blood pressure in patients with hypertension history at Cipayung Health Center, East Jakarta. The research design used was a Quasi-experimental research design. The number of research samples is 58 respondents. The results showed that there were differences in systolic blood pressure (p = 0.000) and the anxiety level of respondents (p = 0.000) after autogenic relaxation interventions were performed.

Abstract:
Hypertension case is increasing from year to years. Based on World Health Organization (WHO) data in 2015 showed around 1.13 billion people in the world have hypertension, meaning 1 in 3 people in the world are diagnosed with hypertension. Hypertension is often referred to as a "silent killer", because many people with hypertension do not feel any signs and symptoms, and then after some years they experience complications. One way to control blood pressure in hypertensive patients is to use non-pharmacological therapy interventions. One of them is to use autogenic relaxation methods. Autogenic relaxation is a method that comes from self and body awareness by controlling muscle and liver tension for the improvement of high blood pressure caused mainly by stress. Autogenic relaxation will help the body to carry commands through autosuggestion to relax so that it can control blood pressure, heart rate and body temperature. The purpose of this study is to describe the influence of autogenic relaxation to decrease the blood pressure of hypertensive patients. This study uses the literature review method. The result of this study shows that several literatures on autogenic relaxation proved that this intervention is very effective for hypertensive patients and can be used as a complementary intervention in hypertensive patients.

Abstract:
The paper presents a conceptually new direction in ensuring the long-term sustainable development of organizations — an autogenic crisis and a mechanism for its preparation — stress testing. The thesis that the crisis is a manifestation of the third law of Hegelian dialectics — “the negation of negation” is advanced. It is concluded that the crisis is a violation of the previous equilibrium (stability) and at the same time, the potential for transition to a new equilibrium (new stability), i.e. a crisis state serves as a way of moving an object from a previous state, through disintegration and conflict, to a new state. To remove contradictions and imbalances, the author proposes to initiate a managed (autogenic) crisis by the top leaders of the organization. Autogenic crisis allows you to update, reboot the system and move to a new level of stability. To prepare for an autogenic crisis and identify underlying problems in the early stages, the author proposes to use a diagnostic tool such as stress testing in the framework of macro- and microprudential regulation. The article outlines ways to solve the tasks and determines the directions for the further development of stress testing and prudential policy in industry.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to discuss Autogenic Training as an effective therapy for children with behavioural and emotional problems. The technique offers children in therapeutic communities strategies in dealing better with stress- and anxiety-related problems. The resulting increased body awareness and ability for self-reflection can also lead to a better engagement in other forms of therapy, decrease anxieties, reduce levels of frustration, increase self-esteem, decrease the fight/flight feeling and supports the work in therapeutic communities. Design/methodology/approach – International literature and the author's experience are reviewed to provide a better understanding of the technique and its potential in therapeutic communities. The paper explores creative ways of modifying the technique aiming to help children engage in the autogenic process. Findings – The paper concludes that Autogenic Training is an effective therapy and self-help technique for children with emotional and behavioural problems in therapeutic communities. Originality/value – Autogenic Training is well known in other European countries and often used as a first intervention in therapeutic settings for children and adults. There seems to be a clear lack of literature, papers and understanding of the technique in the UK. The paper addresses this deficit.

Abstract:
Abstract Erosional surfaces set the architecture of fluvio-deltaic stratigraphy, and they have classically been interpreted in terms of changes in boundary conditions such as climate, tectonics, and base level (allogenic forces). Intrinsic dynamics of sedimentary systems (autogenic dynamics) can also create a rich stratigraphic architecture, and a major knowledge gap exists in parsing the relative roles of autogenic versus allogenic processes. Emerging theoretical and experimental work suggests that backwater hydrodynamics play an important role in driving transient channel incision in river deltas, even those experiencing net aggradation. Here, we identify and quantify two autogenic mechanisms that produce broad erosional surfaces in fluvio-deltaic stratigraphy, namely, floods and avulsions. Using a simple mass-balance model for single-threaded delta channel systems, we show that flood-induced scours begin near the shoreline, and avulsion-induced scours begin at the avulsion site, and both propagate upstream over a distance that scales with the backwater length, bed slope, and bed grain size. We also develop scaling relationships for the maximum scour depths arising from these mechanisms, which are functions of characteristic flow depth and formative flood variability. We test our theoretical predictions using a flume experiment of river delta evolution governed by persistent backwater hydrodynamics under constant relative sea level. Results indicate that autogenic dynamics of backwater-mediated deltas under conditions of constant base level can result in stratigraphic surfaces and shoreline trajectories similar to those often interpreted to represent multiple sea-level cycles. Our work provides a quantitative framework to decouple autogenic and allogenic controls on erosional surfaces preserved in fluvio-deltaic stratigraphy.

Abstract:
This paper presents the results of two studies on the promotion of personal self-regulation of development, personal control over development and development-related emotions as well as generalized locus of control and psychosomatic well-being in the elderly using autogenic training (AT), a psychophysiological self-control method using self-inductions of physical and mental relaxation. Subjects were 120 adults aged 66-80 years. Study I had a randomized cross-over design with a waiting list group; Study II had a randomized cross-over design comparing the effects of introductory courses on autogenic training and of a general health education program. Each program phase continued for 8 weeks, with one small group meeting per week. Tests were conducted in both studies before program start, during mid-program, after total program, and 6 months after the end of the program. Data were gathered on development-related emotions, personal control over development, personal self-regulation of development, psychosomatic complaints, and generalized locus of control. The results point towards short-term as well as long-term effects of autogenic training on these variables. Possible applications of autogenic training in gerontopsychology are discussed as well as its role in developmental intervention and its references to the action-theory oriented perspective in developmental psychology.
