The textbook provides the basic concepts and definitions of the design process of automated information systems (AIS) based on domain analysis; highlights the issues of developing the software and information core of AIS based on database management systems (DBMS). Remote access clients are given as fundamental factors in the study of computer-aided database design and the construction of database queries is given; client software development; the main elements of client programs. The article also describes the features of AIS operation, methods and means of data collection and transmission; ensuring the reliability of information during its storage and processing; exporting database structures; restoring information in databases. Meets the requirements of the federal state educational standards of secondary vocational education of the latest generation. For students of secondary vocational educational institutions studying in the group of specialties "Computer Science and computer Engineering". It can be used for self-education in the field of information technology.
