Abstract:
The high throughput capabilities of protein mass fingerprints measurements have made mass spectrometry one of the standard tools for proteomic research, such as biomarker discovery. However, the analysis of large raw data sets produced by the time-of-flight (TOF) spectrometers creates a bottleneck in the discovery process. One specific challenge is the preprocessing and identification of mass peaks corresponding to important biological molecules. The accuracy of mass assignment is another limitation when comparing mass fingerprints with databases.;We have developed an automated peak picking al

The aim of this thesis work is to identify the model parameters, both the inertial terms and the aerodynamic ones, of a new drone concept. Based on reverse engineering philosophy, the proposed techniques represents the new way the aerospace industry of drones is going to meet. All over the world the application of drones for the most disparate purposes is advancing exponentially and the need to bring new effective and efficient solutions to the market cannot ignore considering what has been done up to now for the drone industry. In this sense one wants to include reverse engineering in the pro

Abstract:
This master thesis proposes a solution to the approach problem in case of unknown severe microburst wind shear for a fixed-wing aircraft, accounting for both longitudinal and lateral dynamics. The adaptive controller design for wind rejection is also addressed, exploiting the wind estimation provided by suitable estimators. It is able to successfully complete the final approach phase even in presence of wind shear, and at the same time aerodynamic envelope protection is retained. The adaptive controller for wind compensation has been designed by a backstepping approach and feedback linearizati
