In this masters’ thesis report we present a graph theoretical method used for automatic bilingual lexicon acquisition with parallel texts. We analyze the concept of graph similarity and give an interpretation, of the parallel texts, connected to the vector space model. We represent the parallel texts by a directed, tripartite graph and from here use the corresponding adjacency matrix, A, to compute the similarity of the graph. By solving the eigenvalue problem ρS = ASAT + ATSA we obtain the self-similarity matrix S and the Perron root ρ. A rank k approximation of the self-similarity matrix

Abstract:
Automatic indexing is the automatic creation of a text surrogate, normally keywords or phrases, to represent the original text. In the current English text retrieval systems, this process of content representation is accomplished by extracting words using spaces and punctuations as word delimiters. The same technique cannot easily be applied to Chinese texts which contain no obvious word boundaries; they appear to be a linear sequence of non-spaced or equally spaced ideographic characters and thenumber of characters in words varies. The solution to the problem lies in morphological and syntact

Abstract:
Ηirbet-Qumran lies about 15km south of Jericho. Between 1947 and 1956 eleven caves were discovered that contained thousands of fragments, mainly of prepared animal skin, representing approximately 900 texts many of which are considered copies. Over 100 of these texts are in Aramaic, though many are short fragments. The provenance of these texts is uncertain, but the fact that copies of some of them are known from beyond Qumran indicates that not all the Aramaic texts found at Qumran are likely to have originated there, though Qumran may have been a site where they were copied. Hitherto, this A

This work explores the possibilities of robust, noise adaptive and automatic segmentation of driver eye movements into comparable quantities as defined in the ISO 15007 and SAE J2396 standards for in-vehicle visual demand measurements. Driver eye movements have many potential applications, from the detection of driver distraction, drowsiness and mental workload, to the optimization of in-vehicle HMIs. This work focuses on SeeingMachines head and eye-tracking system SleepyHead (or FaceLAB), but is applicable to data from other similar eye-tracking systems. A robust and noise adaptive hybrid

Abstract:
In a scientific study of dream content, artificial intelligence has been utilized to automatically score dream content. An initial attempt focused on scoring for emotional tone of dream reports. The contribution of this thesis demonstrates methods by which accuracy of such a system can be improved beyond text-mining. It was hypothesized that data extraction based on psychological processes will provide significant information that would produce an accurate model. In our first article, the significance of words expressed in dream reports, along with their associated words was explored. Extracti
